"A Child's Laughter" by Ephemeral_Dreams

A child's laughter echoes outside my abode

Another disaster arrives inside, it bodes

The pained memories, crying out for remembrance,

The gained enemies, trying again to break free.

Chains of my mind, past unforgotten.

Grains of my heart, cast beyond rotten.

Strains of my hopes, blast asunder.

Reins of my life, dead hand of the past's thunder.

My inner mind speaks, as it oft does.

Be joyous that others can experience joy

My outer kind peaks, as i rarely do,

Be silent that mothers can recount the story.

Story of my life, one of clouds and thunderstorms.

Glory of every morn, none of pouts and emotional qualms

Troughs and hills, grins and tears.

What's left is an empty shell, nothing but makeup.

A child's laughter resounds again, filling the neighborhood with sonorous exclamation of joy

When will I be able to laugh as such, I ask.

When will I overcome this asinine subconcious, my task.

Who will I become, his crystalline precious, my mask.

How will I enable this raphe, I need,

To connect me to him, that one person,

One that can evoke, a child's laughter from deep within.

Thoughts are very welcome :). wrote it as i was listening, as it hints, at a child's laughter outside.

I do hope my poetry skills are improving :)
