--Chapter 3-- The night passed in depressing silence, Amy refused to eat dinner and stayed locked up in her room. Her father tried to come talk to her but she locked the door and just laid on her bed. At around two in the morning she sat up and got out of bed feeling around until she tripped into Lucario's back knocking him over. He gets up and swallows his normal criticism knowing the poor child has had a bad night. "What is wrong Amy?" "I am hungry can you get me some food please?" She doesn't ask him to get food for her ever she always ask for help to get to the kitchen so Lucario knows she is upset. He nods and pats her head. "Of course I will make you a nice sandwich." He helps her back to the bed and tucks her in and walks out to the kitchen. To his surprise Amy's mother is up in a night gown she seems to be waiting for him. Lucario bows to her and heads for the refrigerator and gets out turkey, ham, bologna, and cheese with mustard. He sets about making the sandwich. "He doesn't try to be mean Lucario." Lucario looks over at Amy's mother watching her. "He loves her it's just he doesn't really understand her that well, he hasn't really taken the time he works a lot so he doesn't really understand how she lives and everything she has to endure but he does love her. I think more than anything else he just wants her to follow in his footsteps and be successful in business." She sighs and sips some hot green tea. "But that's not what she wants and he resents her for it." He finishes making the sandwich. "And where do you stand on all of this?" "I think she should go if you promise to help her every step of the way on her journey I will pack up everything you need to take and you can get the rest in Japan." Lucario thinks it over then nods. "We leave tonight begin packing please." He leaves and takes the sandwich to Amy. "You must get dressed. We are leaving now your mother is packing everything up." Amy looks surprised but she nods and begins getting ready and munching on her sandwich at the same time. Lucario grabs a few odd and ends and puts them in a blue backpack. Amy puts on blue jeans, a black sleeveless shirt, and a pink unbuttoned over shirt, Lucario helps her put on black boots and he picks up his green vest and puts it on. "You must be as quiet as possible so we do not wake your father." They leave the bedroom and go out to the kitchen where Amy's mother is packing the last of the stuff in a huge hiker style backpack. Lucario takes this backpack and puts it on. Amy's mother reaches into a cabinet and pulls out a box. She opens it up and pulls out a shiny new graphite mobility cane and hands it to Amy. "I was hoping to give this to you on your birthday but you will need it now more than ever." As she talks her eyes tear up and she holds Amy's hand in her trembling hand. Amy herself is teary eyed and they share a hug, Lucario watches and closes his eyes he remembers a Lucario with white fur, a caring smile, and a soothing aura, his own mother. "Promise me you will keep in touch." "I will Mommy; I know Lucario won't let me forget." Amy smiles and she lets go of her mother and takes Lucario's arm. "Let's go Lucario." Lucario leads her out of the house then he picks her up and he begins running at a breakneck speed while Amy clings tight to him. After about half an hour they arrive at the same airport they arrived at after they finished training at the Guide Pokemon School. After a full hour and half of nothing but getting through security the two manage to get to the terminals and they wait for a jet that is going to take them to Okinawa, Japan and from there they will take another jet to Kanto and a place called Pallet Town. "I cannot wait to get to Kanto Lucario. We get to meet Professor Oak I have wanted meet him all my life!" this is the babble Lucario listens to all the way to their seats in first class but once they sit down Amy instantly falls asleep. Lucario smiles and buckles her in and pulls a blanket over her that was provided by a stewardess. "Thank you ma'am" He lays back and closes his eyes and his mind goes back to a time before he ever even knew what a human looked like. He remembers his mother kneeling down before him in the snow and putting her paw on his head. "Remember my son trust in the auras around you they will guide you to your true calling in the world and the one who has an aura like yours will become your family." She smiles and pats his head "No matter how far you go from home I will be here and we will see each other before death comes to us and I will always love you son." Lucario's eyes snap open and he looks at the clock above the big screen TV before them, only seven hours they still have about six hours and three minutes left to go. He looks over at Amy who is sleeping soundly, he closes his eyes and stares at her aura and looks down at his own, he jumps slightly and looks back and forth. Their auras are a perfect match and he smiles, he could handle having her as family. He leans back and watches the TV as is shows some movie but his mind is not on the plot and characters of the movie. Lucario is preoccupied with his upcoming meeting with Professor Oak, the last time he saw the professor was right before he evolved into a Lucario, that was about ten years ago, and he couldn't help but wonder if the professor would turn Amy away before she had a chance to realize her dream. "Lucario...?" a little hand pulls on his arm and Lucario looks down Amy who is looking up at him sleepily "can I have some orange juice?" Lucario smiles and pats her head. "Of course Amy" he stands up and finds a stewardess and gets a juice box and brings to back to Amy. When he gets to the chair Amy is listening to her radio and Lucario grins, a one track mind Six and a half hours later they land in Okinawa and transfer to another jet that will take them to the Kanto region and then they will head to Pallet Town. They board the jet and take their seats a stewardess with a Raichu comes by and the Raichu hands Amy a soda while the stewardess gives Lucario a glass of water, the two sit back and sip their drinks and Lucario thinks back to a time long past, another fond memory of his mother. "This is the power of aura my son" She gathers a sphere of aura and blasts a tree to splinters "and you will learn to harness it as I have, but it will not happen in one day. It will take you many years to have this skill and once you have it you must use it to make the world a better place for the one whose aura is like your own." She sits down crossing her legs and has Lucario, back then Riolu, sit next to her "Now close your eyes and relax you must become fully aware of your own aura before you can be aware of the auras of the rest of the world." Riolu closes his eyes and begins his first day of training with his mother...Lucario opens his as the plane begins to land at an airport. "Amy we are here, unfold your cane we are going to be getting off the plane." Once she has done what he told her she takes his arm and he looks around the few passengers that were thinking to trying to cut in front of Amy who instantly reconsider from the harsh gaze Lucario passes around. Once he is sure no one will try and cut in front of his charge he leads Amy off the plane and to baggage claim and grabs the backpacks. Lucario stops at the exit of the airport and grabs a map of the Kanto region and looks it over. "Pallet Town is 20 miles away not to far at all." "Well for you maybe you are half fighting type you could run for sixty miles and not break a sweat." Amy grins and tugs on the spike on the back of his paw. Lucario smiles a bit himself Amy more than likely knows more about his kind than he does himself. "Do not worry Amy I will carry you to Pallet Town we will not waste time with trying to get a taxi." With that Lucario sweeps her off of her feet and in a blast of air and dust takes off like a shot running down the road dodging cars and trucks moving faster than the vehicles are moving. After about five miles Lucario can see mountains in the distance and he finds himself with some options he didn't think of back in the airport. He could cut the trip short by a few miles by going over the mountains something he could easily, the danger was the wild Pokemon and the dangers of the mountain itself could easily harm Amy, but on the opposite side she needed to prepare for her real journey this was going to a be a mental and spiritual test for her. When they reach a bridge that would move the road around the mountain Lucario jumps "Hold tight Amy we are taking a shortcut" they free fall for fifty feet and Lucario hits the ground running like they never even jumped off a bridge at all, he is smiling this was not the kind of thing we was able to do in Manhattan or San Diego he was back in his element, for the fun of he begins dodging trees and blasting through a few with force palm attacks stretching his legs so to speak and testing his skill which he was happy to discover he still had. Amy seems to be enjoying herself as well and they reach the top of the first mountain and Lucario jumps and lands balanced on the top most branch of a tree for a few seconds...then jumps. Hundreds of feet in the air Amy can feel the flowing air and the warm sun and hear the sounds of Pokemon and nature below them, up ahead Lucario can see the road leading into and Pallet town itself. They begin falling Lucario aims for and lands on a tree making it bend a good deal before he jumps to the next tree and the next slowly working their way down to the ground, with one final jump off a tree they land on the pavement on the road and the ground cracks under the force of Lucario's, Amy's, and their gears combined weight as they land. "That was fun! Can we do that again Lucario?" Amy is all smiles at this point. Lucario chuckles and shakes his head. "No Amy we are right outside Pallet Town we have to go see Professor Oak" At this Amy's eyes widen and her smile gets even bigger. "Oh run fast then I can't wait to meet him and shake his hand!" Amy holds tight as Lucario takes off running again the few cars they pass by don't even seem to be moving Lucario is moving so swiftly. They pass through the small but active town and eventually Lucario stops in front a bunch of brick steps that lead up to a large white house with a laboratory in the back of the house and on the second floor, behind the building is a large expanse of fenced in wilderness that stretches farther than the eye can see, Lucario has stopped in front of the home of... Professor Oak.
