Beauty and the Werewulf Chapter 2
#2 of Beauty and the Werewulf
Hey folks! After so long of a haitus I'm back with the rebooted BatW!!! I will probably be uploading this along with Half-Blood my other chapter... but yeah here we go!
Chapter 2
Even after running himself exhausted he still couldn't get her off of his mind...He kept on seeing her face. It was driving him nuts! He'd only met her yesterday, and he couldn't stop thinking about her. "How do you handle it!?" he asked his brother finally, "Do you think about Tyler all the time?"
Matt only shrugged his wolfish shoulders. "At first, yeah. The bond is still new Damon, that's what happens when you find your Mate. You can't stop thinking about them. If they're a stranger you have to get to know them...Have to know what makes them tick. What you're going through is only natural for a wolf who's just found his Mate. Don't worry about it."
"But I don't want to keep on thinking about her! For all I know she hates my guts!"
"What do you mean? Did you make an ass out of yourself when you met her?"
Damon nodded in his guilt. He had been a bit of an ass that time... but he had no idea that the girl who had bumped into him was his Mate... if he had known, he would've been nicer. "Yeah, we kinda bumped into each other in the park and got into an argument. I didn't know she was my Mate at that point obviously, but I just fucked it all up! You know what they say about first impressions," Damon muttered.
"Well, when we get back you just have to try and make peace with her. Maybe apologize for being an ass. Offer to show her around town, stuff like that. If you try hard enough you might be able to win her over," Matt said in a cheerful tone. He felt for his baby brother... finding your Mate for the first time was rough... He was glad in his own case it was someone he knew. He and Tyler had been close ever since they moved to Denver when he was eleven.
"Speaking of Mate's, what are you going to do about Tyler? When are you going to turn him to one of us? The council is pretty unhappy at this situation..."
Matt growled in annoyance. Tyler had asked him to wait awhile. He wanted at least one year of college before he became a werewolf, and Matt was going to make sure he enjoyed it. "I'll change him when he's ready. I don't want to force the change on him so soon... he only just found out about us a few months ago."
They had been together since they were both sixteen... but Tyler was still very much in the closet at that point, so he wanted to keep it secret. It took him almost a year to tell him about what he was, so scared that Tyler would find him a monster or something. He had been somewhat right... when he first told Tyler he didn't believe him and Matt was forced to change to prove he was telling the truth. The look of terror on Tyler's face was far something he would never forget. Tyler broke it off and had gone months without talking to Matt. Just as he was prepared to lose Tyler forever, was when Tyler had approached him and kissed him right in front of the entire school during graduation. He wasn't sure who was more surprised... him or Tyler's parents.
"I guess, thank God I won't have to worry about that with Madi."
There were no female werewolves... none at all. His kind was pretty much dependent on human women to spread their seed. Even the gay werewolves often choose human men as lovers. Usually the relationships wouldn't last long, but in rare cases a wolf would fall for a human. Most wolves preferred to mate with pack-born daughters. They knew about their male counterparts and they didn't need the secrecy. However, though somewhat uncommon and usually frowned upon, some straight werewolves such as himself would date outsider women; those who were born outside of a pack. Gay werewolves, if they were to actually find their Mate as a human, would by law be required to change their love into a wolf.
"Yeah, but it still won't be easy. You'll have to explain everything to her... our laws, customs and most importantly the bond."
'Matt was right, her being a girl won't make anything easier...' Damon thought to himself.
"Oh, I got a call from the principle again. He said you gotten into another fight. If you keep this up you'll get expelled you know," Matt lectured, causing Damon to moan louder... He didn't see the point in school... it was pretty stupid Damon thought. It's not like he needed it... He could easily find jobs that took advantage of his physical abilities. "Plus I got a call from the councilor; she said your grades have been falling again... Would it kill you to put some effort into school?"
"Maybe it would? Hell, the only reason I even bother going is because Mom and Dad won't let me drop out! It's not like I wouldn't be able to find a job. I could easily get one involving manual labor or something... or I could fix things. Not all of us want to be a Doctor, Matt."
"You can't just breeze by life Dame; you have to want to do something with it, don't you? Do you have any ambitions for the future or anything?"
Damon just shrugged; he really didn't have a plan. He just planned on getting work where he could get it and just enjoy life to its fullest. It was not like his family needed money, they were relatively well off by human standards. "Why can't I just breeze by? It's not like we have to fully integrate with the humans. Most of our kind just live separately and move around... like we used to do as kids remember?"
Matt smiled at that. When they were very little they would never stay in one place for long...A month here, two months somewhere else. But eventually their parents decided to settle down here in Denver and for the first time in their life they went to a normal school instead of being home-schooled. Matt had been thrilled, he had always wanted to go to normal school. Damon had been somewhat indifferent even then.
"Because you just can't Dame, you have to at least do something!" Matt muttered he then got up. "Come-on, let's do some more running... I don't want to leave Tyler alone for too long in case his parents do something stupid, so we'll be leaving tomorrow morning." With that he got up ran.
"Hey! Wait up!" Damon yelled scrambling up and trying to catch up. Matt only laughed at him as they started running through the park again. When they got hungry the duo decided to go hunting. Damon personally hated raw meat but he was pretty famished. Eventually they managed to catch a few deer and ate them quickly before burying the bones. With a few more hours of running, the duo decided to find somewhere to fall asleep. Once they were sure it was safe the brothers quickly dozed off, tired from the events of the day.
After what felt like minutes, Damon felt like he was being shaken awake. "Wake up bro, we got to get home!" Matt said. He was already back in his human form and was fully dressed. Damon only moaned and turned over. He didn't want to get up now, "Come-on Dame, get up lazy!" Matt said, poking his brother. Knowing that Matt wasn't going to leave him alone he reluctantly got up and changed back into human form and got a shirt from his bag.
After they were fully awake the brothers began to walk back towards the truck. Once they got in, Matt started the engine and they began the drive back home. They were silent for a bit until Matt decided to break the ice, "So, what are you going to do about this Madi girl?"
"Not sure yet... I guess I'll try and talk to her during school or something..."
They fell back into silence after that, neither knowing what to say. Eventually they made it back home around noon, only to see Tyler asleep on the couch. Matt gently woke him up causing him to jump and then smile once he seen his lover back. They embraced while Damon just rolled his eyes. He liked Tyler, he was great but he hated it when people got all sappy. Matt noticing his eyes rolling only stuck his tongue out at his little brother causing all of them to laugh.
Damon was enjoying being back, but he really did need to figure out what do about Madi... Suddenly an idea came to his head. Maybe he could try and get her to hang out with him? But right now he was tired and decided to catch a few Z's for a few hours and went upstairs and into his room falling back asleep quickly.

It had been an eventful day for Madi. She had just finished cleaning the house and was in the process of fixing her room to her own preferences. After she found it up to her standards she lay down on her bed exhausted. She was about to fall asleep until she heard someone knock on her door. Annoyed she walked to her door and threw it open only to see the last person she wanted to see. "What are you doing in my house?" she demanded. The tall boy... Damon she thought his name was...was standing in the frame.
"Your dad let me in," he replied simply and smiled at her. "He seems nice... Want to go out or something? I can show you everything."
Madi only gave him an annoyed look before saying, "No thank you." She was about to slam the door in his face when he put his foot in to stop it from closing completely, "Get your foot out of my door and get out of my house," she told him coldly but he gave her an impetuous smile.
"No, I want to show you around, and I won't leave until you agree. I'm usually pretty good at getting people to like me. They say I can be quite the charmer."
"I don't find you charming..." Madi muttered and Damon gave her a look of faux-hurt.
"Oh you wound me! But really, I want to show you around. Can't we be friends? It's not like I chased you with a knife or anything..."
"That happened to my cousin actually..." she suddenly said. 'Now why did I bring up Kyle?'
Damon gave her an interested look. He'd meant that to be a joke honestly, and the fact that it had actually happened to someone she knew was surprising. He was about to comment on that when she spoke again.
"What do you really want Damon?" she asked him coldly.
Damon continued to smile; he wasn't going to lose this bout. He was determined to make her like him if it was the last thing he did.
"I told you I want to show you around. I just want to be friends... You're new and you don't know anybody else besides me. Plus we are neighbors; we'll see a lot of each other so might as well get along.
Madi just gave him an odd look. She wasn't sure what to make about this boy... he seemed so strange. "I'm sorry to say, I don't have many people knocking down my door wanting to be my friend... Why are you so pushy anyway? Why do you want to be my friend? IF you make friends so easy go find someone else to bother."
"But I want to be yours... we're neighbors. Like I said, we'll be seeing a lot of each other. Plus you don't have any friends here right now and I'm offering to be your friend." He kept his smile but he was getting somewhat annoyed. This girl was pretty stubborn... but then again so was he, "Besides, I want to apologize for being such an ass on Saturday.
"You were a bit of an ass that day." She admitted and Damon scowled.
"Gee thanks," he muttered, but then he smiled again, "So you going to go with me or not?"
Madi only sighed. She doubted he would be able to get rid of him by herself, "Let me think about it..." she said finally.
She let him into her room and sat on the bed while he took a seat in the chair near her desk. Damon was so surprised at how clean the room was. She'd just moved into it Friday and it was already spotless. He continued to look at her while she thought about it. She looked cute with that thoughtful pout on her face until she sighed, "Alright, I'll walk with you... just so you'll maybe leave me alone."
She got up with that and walked out of the door. Damon smiled widely as he quickly got up and followed her. She briefly told her dad she was going out for a bit and he nodded. With that the pair walked out in the streets Madi still wondering why the boy was being so damn pushy...
