#2 of The Beauty of Love

This is the first section of the new story that has gathered my attention - the Beauty of Love. I think it's going to be one of the best I'll ever write, and to be honest - I almost cried when I was just designing the outline for this. I hope this is going to be as emotional for the rest of you as it is for me. Enjoy.

Grath, perched on an old log, watched the younger female stumbling around in the recreational area, laughing and giggling with youth

.

He was five years old, a young Phelgon himself - this female, though, was probably only two or three, maybe four. He had tannish-brown fur, with bright azure eyes. Neither he nor the relatively tiny female wore something, and he noted that she had pale grey fur, with bright purple eyes - along with a handful of glowing purple markings. He didn't enjoy the company of females, being a young male as he was, but she was still relatively fascinating to watch.

He pushed himself up, walking carefully towards her, smiling. "Hey," he offered, uncertain of what to say.

"Hi!" The younger one returned the greeting with bright enthusiasm. She watched him curiously with her unusual violet eyes. "Me Khara!"

"..Grath..." He replied with a bit of nervousness derived from being the object of scrutiny for those eyes. Instinctively, he reached out and gently patted her shoulder - although even this small movement nearly knocked her over. Hurriedly, he steadied her. He didn't want this unusual little female to fall over, not so soon after he had met her, any way!

"Want play?" She asked this question with wide, excited eyes.

"Uhm... Sure, we play." Grath said awkwardly. "Play what?"

"Uh..." She seemed to ponder this for a moment. "Play build?" She asked uncertainly.

"Hm... Works." He nodded.

They spent the next few hours talking and building small, crude castles and huts from sticks, leaves, and other materials easily available in their woodland home.

And thus began a steady friendship.

The Flames of Fate Chapter 4

Drakwald shoved the dead man aside and began to continue on his way. He glanced around at the surrounding cliffs warily, muttering darkly. That man had demanded payment for passage of the road. Drakwald had reminded the man that the Burning Way...

The Flames of Fate Chapter 3

Jalas sighed, looking around the dingy interior of a battered tavern called the Golden Eagle, located in the slums of Fretyrd - which just so happened to be the capitol city of Talazene, one of the most powerful nations in the world. He was a massive,...
