Here it is, number five of Last of the Lycans. Things are going to start heating up! Worked for quite a long time on this one and I hope you guys like it!
I highly recommend you read the other ones, should be in the same folder, just click on the first one. But I will provide a STORY THUS FAR for those who don't want to XP
Story Thus far-
Leith, a Lycan born to interracial parents of Human and Lycan. But they were killed by Humans and he was found by Luyet and taken as far from the Humans as possible. He grows up with a strange affinity for Humans that only Luyet can explain but he doesn't. He tries to run away to the nearest Human city of Tempest but is always stopped by Luyet who keeps telling him how dangerous the Humans are. But the time comes and Luyet dies and Leith gets his chance and runs off to go to Tempest. After meeting Luna in the forest he is able to see Humans up close and starts to get a strange attachment to her.
Luna, a Human girl who grew up in the Human capitol of Futurda and whose parents died is convicted for helping Lycans. She runs at the advice of her brother and escapes crossing a mountain range to Lycan territory known as the Ile foothills.
The two of them run into each other and Leith finds that Luna is fluent in his language, the two start to talk and Luna realizes that the Human government the Elif is controlling and wants to exterminate the Lycans for no reason other then control, she promises her help to Leith and the Lucans
The Elif, the human government, themselves know how dangerous Luna is, they have knowledge that she can speak Lycan and will do anything to stop her.
Here it is ENJOY!
Luna was a little surprised at what Leith had called "little." The stream he was talking about was more like a small, slow flowing river. She looked out across it; the deepest point was about waist high and the current didn't seem to strong.
"Weak enough for a swim?" She thought to herself. It came from days of being on the run and needing some relaxation. Of course it would be a short swim, but one that she wanted.
Luna started stripping down and put her clothes on a small stump near the water's edge. She let the water lap at her toes before slowly descending into the cold, refreshing wash. Her steps took her deeper and she rubbed her hands together under the water to try and get the blood off. Much to her surprise it took quite a bit of effort to do so. But around her hands the water started changing to a slight red hue, showing that her effort was paying off.
"Ohhh." Her eyes closed and mouth opened as the water ran against her body. If felt so nice, just being able to relax for once. Not have to worry about anything.
Leith hiked the bag over his shoulder, inside all of Luna's provisions. His hears twitched and he started in the way of the stream, having a bit of trouble moving with the heavier pack. "I hope she's done. We need to get moving." The large Lycan stepped through the forest as the sound of water filled the area, along with the slight sound of humming.
"Aroo?"
Leith moved a branch blocking his view of the stream. The fur on his face stood up as he saw the Human girl, nude bathing in the crystal clear water.
"Luna?" He said to himself quietly.
His eyes watched the Human bathe and listened to her voice. He purred slightly.
"Wow." He took notes in his head, absolutely no fur at all, no tail, nothing that connected them to Lycan women, except for the basic form. Leith wanted to go out into the river and join her but where were those urges coming from? Lycans don't like Humans, much less actually having an attraction to them. But he felt a connection to her, one that ran deeper than the differences, deeper than any animosity between the two races. Leith stepped out onto the bank still staring at Luna, he dropped the pack. Luna turned around and found the Lycan staring at her. She squealed and stooped low to hide herself.
"What are you doing?" Her face flushed with redness and the voice carried a very sensitive tone.
"I...I thought you were just going to wash your paws! I didn't know you were going to get undressed."
Luna tried to keep her body under the water as she swam back to shore. "Well...look away!"
The Lycan did as he was told and turned his back letting Luna get out of the water and grab her clothes.
"Looks like I'm just going to have to be wet all day." She said picking up her clothes. Leith stole a glance at her again drawing another purr from deep inside.
"You know, my fur is warm. I...if you want, I could get you dry."
The offer was strange to Luna, who was not expecting it. Every time she talked with this....creature, was a new view on how he and those like him lived. He quickly turned back away letting her make her own choice. His ears heard the sound of walking on rocks growing closer.
"Are you offended that I have seen you?" He said taking a stab at a conversation.
"Do you just want me to hug you? T...to get dry I mean."
Leith's ears perked up and he gave a slight nod. Around him, he felt the arms of the Human squeeze him. They felt so small to him, and the skin contrasted against his fur color. But her body against his was strange, no extra layer of fur covered her more intimate parts and her bare breasts pressed against his back. He let his tail droop down so Luna could draw closer to the warmth of his body.
Luna's arms were immediately dried by his fur. But she didn't want to let go, the warmth was so inviting, so nice. It reminded her of her bed back in Futurda. Luna let her head rest up against his large body. Memories flooded her of times when she was young, playing, not having to worry about big problems. This Lycan was like a bed! A place of rest to her, where she could go and be safe. Nobody could get her. Suddenly she felt his tongue drift across her fingers and it sent a shiver up her spine, what was he doing?
"l....Leith, what are you doing?"
"Cleaning the blood off of your fingers, you missed some."
He said it between licks, but she was sure to have cleaned it all off. She probably did miss a little but not enough for a full grooming like that. The feel of his rough tongue did feel nice though, she concluded that questioning him wasn't something to do right now.
Leith lapped at her hands. Licking was a form of affection for Lycans, he didn't want to downright tell her but he wanted Luna to know in a way. Licking her hands was the best way he could think of and when the scent of her filled his nostrils when she embraced him he knew it was perfect. His slow, long, graceful licks where what he would be giving Kalah if she were here, but she wasn't.
Luna still had no idea what they meant, or the value of them but it was relaxing and before long she had almost completely dried off in his warmth. She unlatched her arms and raced back to get dressed before he turned around to see her. One eye kept on him but he never turned around and respected her privacy. Once she was finished Luna called out to him.
"I'm ready w...we can go."
The Lycan turned around and picked the bag up off the ground, still weary of looking at Luna. "Ok, let's go. Amita isn't too far. We are not as spread out as Humans so the trip will take about a day."
Leith started and led her, his mind in turmoil. Kalah would be absolutely furious, Lycans are a mate for life people and although he hadn't actually performed the act with her yet, it was pretty obvious to the both of them that it would have happened. But right now this human gave him the same urges. His mind could only come up with one line the entire time he fought with it. "What is wrong with me?"
Luna followed closely to Leith, cradling her hands in one another. She could still feel his warm tongue running along them. Gently cleaning and grooming them. She slowly bought them to her mouth and let her own tongue glide along the same path as Leiths. It felt good.
Elest sat in the grand room. The quietness disturbed him, it felt as though a room as big as this should be filled with a great number of people. He sat at the end of a long table with his hands nestled in his lap. Time felt like it was dragging, they told him it wouldn't be long but it seemed like he'd been sitting for the entire day. Nobody had come in to talk, in fact he didn't even know why he was in this room. After the Elif tried to capture Luna they left him alone, but came back several days later and arrested him on suspicion. For the past couple of nights a cold outcast hut was his home.
Finally the door behind him sounded and a man walked in. He was a little on the short side and had a bit of a stomach. Elest could have easily overpowered him if he felt like it. He came around and sat on the opposite end in a grand chair.
"Do you know who I am?" He asked, leaning forward.
Elest honestly had no idea. This was the first time he'd laid his eyes on him.
"With all due respect sir," He said not wanting to anger him. "I don't."
The man picked his teeth with his long fingernails and sat back in his chair. "Well, I know you Elest. And know you well, along with your sister."
Elest racked his brain, who could this man be? "Sir, I don't and my sister isn't here anymore. I've told you that, I've even told you about her. If you are the one who those guards report to."
The man across him didn't respond right away, but a chuckle started to resonate through the large chamber.
"I am and I am what all Humans report to."
The realization suddenly hit Elest. "So, do you know who I am now?" He asked once more, smugly.
"Y...yes." He couldn't bring himself to say anything more. This was Fuieln the third, of the Elif.
Fuieln let his head drop to one side as he basked in the amazement. "So, now that you know who I am, and I know all about you. I want to give you some opportunities. See, we have some problems."
Elest sunk further into his chair, "how could I be the one to help?"
Fuieln sighed. "You know where your sister went right?" Elest nodded and smiled nerviously. He hadn't told them that he was the one that gave her that plan. "Yes, well, information has come our way that....hmmm....is interesting."
Elest moved in his chair nervously.
"Your sister it seems has, well, been taken by Lycans."
It really wasn't that surprising to him very much, he expected that. But he thought that because she could communicate with them it would be ok. Even though it gave him remorse for sending his sister out there. "Sorry, but that happens in Lycan territory."
He leaned forward again reeling in his prey. "She also has been....seduced by them."
Elest suddenly felt a small pull to help. "Seduced?"
Fuieln nodded, hooked just need to reel him in. "Yes. They, well...hmmm." Faking sympathy was something he had grown very good at being the Elif council lead. "Did you know that Lycans and Humans can interbreed?"
The second he said that Elest's chest was torn in two. "S...so she's be....being used as..."
"...as a breeder. Yes. Because, well, for some reason every time a Lycan 'breeds' with a Human the off spring will always be Lycan."
Elest leaned on the table. "What have those beasts done?"
Fuieln smiled, hooked and reeled in.
"I'll do whatever you need. Just as long as we stop those monsters from this devilish act!" His stomach turned upside down. "I just need to ask something. Where did you learn this?"
Fuieln played it off. "That's not important, I'll tell you once we get you situated." He stood up and walked around the table extending a hand to the crying brother. He took it and Fuieln padded his shoulders. "It'll be ok, we'll get her back."
Elest pushed back the tears and agreed. "Yes we will. But, what will I be doing?"
"Oh, well yes." He said laughing. "You'll be building my army!"
"Uhhh...Army?"
Kalah sat in the same spot as she did the last time she talked with Leith, at Luyets death. In her paw was the drink once again and the entire town to her back. This was more than an average ceremony though, the leader of Kamit and Kalah's father died. Peacefully in his sleep exactly like Luyet. But it bumped her up to the Leader of Kamit, she was now responsible for everybody's protection. A very big load on her back and more will pile up with time. A sigh escaped her muzzle and she leaned back to stare into the sky.
"Purrgur." The Lycan word for nobody drifted though her teeth. Leith was not there to comfort her. She missed him, missed his touch, his looks, feelings, personality and, his scent. Her nose took in another deep breath concentrating on the smell of the forest. Her mind separated the different smells and tried to find one similar to Leith just so she could get a reminder of him. A simple reminder would be nice. She exhaled the breath as a sigh and looked at the thick liquid in her paw. It's smell was sweet and brought good time along with the pain and remembrance of fallen and gone friends. She brought it close to her muzzle, letting her tongue slip out of her muzzle and lap up some of the liquid. It wasn't for her father, it was for Leith, the only love she could have and the only one she will have.
During the night she often wished that she could have felt his body curled up to hers in the darkness just once. To know what it was like to have a mate. Sleeping with one solidifies a mateship status so in essence if she would have told him to leave the next day and just felt him for one night she would have been mated. Mistakes of the past. Her tongue lapped the sweet nectar again and she swallowed it soothing her throat.
A feeling built up inside, it needed to escape. Her eyes squeezed shut and she threw back her head.
"AROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
A long drawn out cry of hurting. The rest of Kamit looked back at their new leader thinking the howl was for her father. No, it was for Leith. It resonated through the valley and Kalah heard it come back to her in echo. It was all her fault, she let him go. The rest of Kamit watched their new leader in amazement. Her howl was so pure, so full of loss, so loud. A howl like that is something to behold. But she sat in the grass, lapping at her drink, silently crying.
When Leith said "a day," Luna thought he meant a day's journey and then rest in the evening. She had no intention of moving during the night. It seems Leith had other plans though. The sun started to dip under the tree line and the shadows drew out. She wanted to question the Lycan but he was in his element. This was his forest, he knew exactly what to do with everything they came across. Sometimes she marveled in his strength, but also tenderness to the animals inhabiting the forest. Not long ago Luna had had her second taste of raw meat, Leith refused to make a fire to cook. This meat came from two mice Leith had actually caught with this bare hands, or paws, Luna hadn't decided exactly what to call them yet. His muzzle whispered a little prayer to his gods and then he snapped the neck of the mice who seemed at peace for some reason. Then, with a big toothy smile, he presented it to Luna by the tail.
It dangled lifeless but still warm. She used her thumb and index finger to gingerly hold it while Leith literally scarffed the small mouse down. He threw it up into the air and chomped down on it once it came close, sending splatters of blood as the little creature was sliced in half. He crunched and then swallowed, a true carnivore. In the end, Leith had to use his claws to cut open and skin the creature again for Luna, but he didn't mind.
But now the day was drawing to a close and Lieth was still traveling at a feverish pace. Luna had to jog to keep up with his great strides.
"L...Leith, a..are w..w..we going...to...to stop for ..th..the....night." Her voice was breaking in between the deep breaths.
"I was planning on reaching Amita by sunrise." He said, not even close to out of breath. His endurance was amazing. His eye strayed from their straight line path to look at Luna who was still having trouble keeping up. "But we can slow down. You seem tired."
His legs slowed down and he moved to a slow walk for Luna to try and regain her breath. The Lycan cocked his head as the Human bent over and started drawing in deep breaths.
"You know, if you can not do it I will be happy to carry you."
Luna shot straight up and moved ahead of Leith. "What is up with your face? Did it change color?" He asked in his ignorance about Humans. She shook her head and beckoned Leith, "let's go! You don't have to carry me but it would be nice to slow down."
Leith smiled and followed her for a change, getting used to her rhythm. The more he watched her, the more his eyes outlined her body, especially the lower half. Thoughts floated around his skull about breading and mating, but they were quickly defeated by his more rational half; only to come back again in a few seconds.
Once the sun finally hid under the horizon, and the moon showed its face, Leith took the front to lead Luna through the forest, promising to take it easy. He slowed but kept at a constant pace through the night. He periodically checked behind himself, finding Luna trudging along, just barely keeping up with the pace.
The sun peaked up over the horizon, sending light beams through the deep forest as if it was cutting through it. Luna welcomed the light with open arms, the night and been horrible. She was terrified that something would ambush them, but also had a sense of protection because of Leith.
"Hmmmm." He said observing the land. "I have only been to Amita once but I remember it very well and I thought we were further back."
Luna glanced around at the forest, it all looked the same. No landmarks stood out, no clearings, no pathway through the thick brush.
"We are close."
In front of them Luna saw the thickest part of the forest she'd ever seen. The trees blocked the view after only several paces ahead of you.
"Are we going into that?"
Leith nodded, "Yes, Amita is in there."
He stopped before going in. "You know, they will not appreciate a Human walking into 'our' city."
"Well then do you want me to wait out here?" Luna said with a little attitude in her voice.
"I am saying, trust me."
Leith started looking up trees, his curiosity sparked Luna's. "So, what are you looking for?"
He barked with affirmation and tugged at a small vine. "This!"
Luna didn't follow his thought. "Turn around." He said to her, she did very skeptical of it but followed his orders. Suddenly, she felt the vine start to tie her wrists together so they couldn't move.
"Hey! Leith, what are you doing?"
She felt a gentle lick on her finger. "I said trust me."
Luna still didn't like it, but this was his territory, he knew what he was doing.
With her hands tied behind her back, Leith lead Luna into the thick forest. Almost no light came through the canopy, and what did only gave enough light to see just in front of you. With Leith pushing his paw against her back she had to head into the darkness first. Her stomach churned with the raw meat and blood that filled it. Cramps swept through her body as her nervousness overtook it.
She continued walking though, and then at the end of the cave of trees she saw light. Leith was pushing her toward it. It's blaze welcomed her and she wanted to break out into a run to meet it head first. But Leith could feel her wanting and he tightened his grip on her shoulder almost digging his claws into her. His muzzle whispered into her ear.
"Stay very close to me. I still do not know how the other Lycans will react. Now, I may seem very hostile towards you. But remember that I do not mean a word of it."
His voice did not do a good job of reassuring both her mind and body and the butterflies in her stomach grew as the light got closer and closer. "Here we go." He whispered before entering the light.
They passed through the threshold of light. Luna closed her eyes and looked to the ground, her eyes had grown used to the low light. But slowly and surly they grew accustomed to the bright light.
Once she looked up her mouth dropped. A Lycan town.
It had froze, every one of them had their eyes locked on the Human. Whispers echoed through the crowd, her ears picked them up.
"A Human?"
"Wretched things get it out of here."
"I bet its for food."
"Human meat is good."
She also heard growls, it resonated through every one of them. For they all shared the same hate, deservingly so Luna thought. One of them came forward. He was huge, much larger then even Leith! He must be some type of Warrior. The sound of his voice was menacing, full of growls and yips. He obviously didn't care much for the fact that there was a Human here.
"Lycan! Who are you? Why have you brought this abomination to us?"
Strong paws pushed her to the ground, she fell flat on her face, not trying to get back up. "I found her wondering the forests. My name is Leith and I want to speak with the leader of Amita and of Lycans."
The other one snarled and barked at Leith. "You should have bit her neck on the spot! No Human lurking in our territory deserves to live!"
Luna stayed on the ground face down to scared to look up. "I probably should have but she could be useful. Go ahead, smell."
Luna heard a grunt and the sniffing. The large one was smelling her, taking in her scent. His paw moved along her back as he did his inspection. "Young, inexperienced, and fertile." His nose came close to her head. She hoped with all her life that he wouldn't flip her over. A look into his eyes would kill her she thought. Then her back felt a sharp object, it started to dig into her!
"Taste her."
It was Leith! His very claws were digging into her back. Her mind tried to focus on what he had said, how he didn't mean anything he was doing. But it was very hard to believe. The hair on her neck stood on end as she felt the rough tongue of a Lycan drag across the bleeding wound.
"Hmmm. Strong taste too." Everything lay still for a couple of seconds, but then the Lycan welcomed Leith.
"Leith, welcome to Amita." A pause for what she assumed was sniffing.
"I need to speak with the leader of all Lycans."
"Yes." He said. "I will take you to him."
Luna's shoulder felt paws pick her up again and she looked around. They were still the center of attention and the large Lycan gave one final grunt before leading them to wherever this leader was. Leith pushed Luna along his claws digging into her shoulder again. Small tears formed in her eyes and rolled down her cheeks.
"He doesn't mean any of it." She said to herself trying to reassure the fact. "He doesn't mean any of it."
The eyes felt unnatural to her as every Lycan saw her. It was like she was being paraded through just to be mocked. Some even tried to jump at her but a growl from Leith stopped them. He seemed to be holding his 'territory.' Amita didn't seem that grand to Luna. She thought she might be looking through tinted lenses because of the splendor of Futurda but even diminishing her high expectations would not help. It felt run down.
As she walked she also saw glimpses of a Lycan family. A Lycan female, still intimidating even with her sex, let her children crowd behind her, a total of three. She bared her sharp teeth growling louder then any of the others. Luna looked down into the dirt, she couldn't take it anymore.
A small pull on her shoulder told her to stop and she looked up. The large Lycan had stopped and presented a building to them.
"He is in there. I will take the Human for you."
His gigantic paws reached for Luna but Leith growled. "I need her for this."
He backed away respecting Leiths decision. "OK Leith."
Leith dropped the pack and pushed Luna into the opening of the small building. Once inside, Luna squinted her eyes trying to see. Light was provided by fires that lit up each of the four corners. This defiantly was not a house or dwelling of any kind. It was an alter. It was made of three stone steps and on the top step hanging against the back was was a pelt. It outlined a figure, the Pelt was from a Lycan.
Before it, sitting in front of the steps, were three Lycans. Leith pushed on her shoulder and Luna knelt down on one knee bowing her head.
"Leaders!" Leith said, announcing his arrival. "I bring you a request."
The middle one looked up from his prayers and stood up. His frailness contradicted all other Lycans. His paw held a stick used to balance himself while standing. His fur had faded from a great black to a dark grey. Especially around the muzzle but it held a wisdom with it. The two beside him followed in suit. Both of them looked down on the Human. They looked at her with anger and hate, immediately turning to Leith.
"How dare you bring a Human into this place! You should die where you stand!"
Their accusations rang with growls but the older one held up a paw and hushed the two."Now, do not make accusations of someone you do not know and I believe he brought something to us, a request was it? But now about a name first."
Leith took a small step forward."My name is Leith. I come from Kamit."
The second he uttered his name aloud the old Lycan stumbled. His infinite wisdom had failed him for once. "Leith." He let the sounds pass through his muzzle and stood quietly saying the name over and over.
"What is wrong?" Leith asked. "Have I done something?"
One of the aiding Lycans growled. "You have brought a Human here. That is cause for death itself."
The old one tapped his stick and licked his graying muzzle trying to find words. "Enough you two. Leave us."
They looked as if that had never happened before. "I said leave us, wait outside."
They followed through leaving the darkened room, which grew a bit lighter after they left.
Luna was at a complete loss as to what was happening, her head was trying to wrap around it all. Both her and Leith watched him for a long time, once in a while it would look as if he was going to speak but then he would shut his muzzle and go back to his silence.
Finally, he opened his muzzle and said something.
"Leith, Kill this Human."
Luna's eyes opened wide and she tried to stand up, all under the watch full eye of the elder.
"But why?" Leith argued.
"Do it or I will have you killed for bringing danger to everyone."
Leith stood speechless. "B...but what I have to say can bring peace to our..."
"Do it or I will kill you."
The snarls in his voice were serious, certainly he was telling the truth. A small whine left Leith's muzzle as he placed a claw at Luna's throat. Luna couldn't believe this was happening, he was really going to kill her. His sharp claws already stained with blood, would have her more to darken its color. It slowly dug in, drawing a small bead of crimson. But Leith let go and the pressure against Luna's neck was released.
"I can not. I can not kill this Human." Leith looked to the ground, his tail drooping between his legs.
The old one looked upon him with anger. "If I had asked any other Lycan this Human would be a dead at my feet. Do it!"
Without any other options Leith fell to his knees, "Kill me instead then"
The elders face held, but it slowly began to change. His proud stance loosened and his eye of compassion showed again. "Why do you think you could not kill her."
His ears perked up, was he not going to kill him? "I do not know. I just cannot."
The old Lycan chuckled. "You cannot kill your own kind."
Leith looked up again, his tail rising. "My own kind?"
The elder knelt down. "Yes Leith, you are half Human."
A lump formed in his throat. Half human? A half-breed? It did explain all is urges. He did had a fascination with them but actually being one was different. His world shattered. "No! It cannot be true! I have never even seen a Human until Luna!"
"Does one remember when they were birthed into this world?" The old one played back at him.
Leith let his head fall. A Human, why would the God's play such a dirty game with him? His muzzle opened but nothing came out, had his mother really been a Human? His mind tried to picture him as a pup wrapped in the arms of a Human mother. They were images that he just could not conjure. Luna, to his side, let her eyes fall. Leiths world had just been turned upside down.
The elder let the news sink in before he turned to Luna."Would be like a Human to be able to understand our very language though."
She fell backwards but still kept silent.
"She can understand every word, can't she."
Leith lifted his head a little. "Yes."
"And she is not your prisoner."
"No."
The old Lycan tapped both Leith and Luna with his cane telling them to stand up while he did himself. "But a Human that understands Lycan. That is interesting."
Leith gave a weak nod, not trying to be comfortable with the situation. "She can also speak it perfectly."
His gray muzzle turned to Luna expecting her to say something. Luna, with the Knowledge that she was in a sacred Lycan area, could not think of much to say.
"Sir, I talk Lycan great."
He cocked his head to one side.
"I'm sorry, I mean I speak it very well."
The redness that Leith had questioned earlier rushed her face again, but the elder continued. "Interesting."
The elder drew close to her and looked her down. His nose flared as it took in the scents she offered. "She has been with you for only two days and..." He sniffed again. "Smells...fertile."
Luna blushed again, she could gather what they meant by that. But why did they bring it up so much?
He noticed her hands were tied behind her back. "Leith, cut the vines. From what I understand she will not be a threat to us."
Leith grunted and used one of his sharp claws to cut the vines. Luna's arms fell and she rubbed her own wrists. "Thank you."
"Look Leith I know this is a huge shock to you." The elder said. "But it is important that you know. I believe something that you do will not only effect The Lycans but also Humans as well."
Leith drew his flat tongue over his muzzle and thought. "Well, the request I have would probably have something to do with that."
The old Lycan's ears twitched and he leaned forward onto his stick. Behind him his tail fell. "What is it?"
