Raven Wolf - The Wounded - Chapter Ten
Chapter Ten
Achak looks up from the pile of text and paper he had buried himself in and over to Iuana. "Here, I found what I was looking for."
Iuana looks over in Achak's direction, she still sitting by Yula's side worried about him. "You found something to explain this?"
Achak nods his head as he takes the text over to her, he explaining it to her. "Oracle's are placed among mortals to provide guidance. The spirits themselves are guides, but some messages are easier told through someone else, thus, the oracle's existence."
Iuana nods her head. "Yes, I know all of that already, what does that have to do with how he is right now?"
"Sometimes the oracles have a message that they must see and give to someone, but they are not able to reach them to give them this message by physical means. So he must do so by spiritual means, falling into slumber when the person that is supposed to receive his message falls asleep, taking their spirit with him through the visions so that they can see the message that they must come to understand."
Iuana looks back down to Yula. "That's why he won't wake up?"
Achak shakes his head no. "No, that's why he so suddenly fell asleep in the middle of a conversation with you. Him being unable to wake up is a different matter." Achak bounds over to Yula, giving him another look over to make sure that he was continuing to do all right. "A message that has been shown to him before but has not yet been understood must come into play. Yula has been ignoring a certain vision for three hundred years, Yula has not only been unable to find the meaning to it but had chosen to ignore the message, recognizing the vision when he sees it and waking himself up before it can finish, not seeing the whole thing and forgetting most of it in the process."
Iuana nods her head, knowing what it was that Achak was talking about. "The vision of mother's death..."
Achak nods his head. "The time has come for the message in this vision to become relevant. Yula cannot be woken until he has seen the vision through and reached its understanding. Not by us, not by himself." He looks down to Yula. "If he does not understand the message the first time then the vision will repeat, and will not stop repeating until the message has become clear."
*******
Yula is walking through a long corridor, following his own projection of Dolly that was supposed to help guide him through this series of visions, the surroundings having once again changed, Teddy though no longer with them. "Where are we now? And where are we going?"
"We're going to find Teddy."
Yula frowns. "Why... I mean, why is he here?"
"He is in need of help, the spirits need to send a message to him, but need you to do it. Teddy, though he now acknowledges the existence of spirits does not trust them. He trusts you though, he confides in you, and you just happen to be an oracle, a messenger of the spirits. You can tell him what it is the spirits are trying to say."
Yula lets out a sigh, the visions not exactly straight forward. "Sure... if I can figure out what the heck these stupid dreams mean anyway..."
Dolly pushes a door entering a room, Yula following her and then soon coming to a stop, the corridor having lead him to a men's shower and locker room that currently held several figures changing in it. Yula groaning as he shakes his head turning around and trying to forget what he had just saw. "Why is Teddy remembering this...?"
Dolly simply shrugs her shoulders while shaking her head, she not able to give him any answer to that question, she instead just trying to get Yula to continue forward. "Are you coming in?"
Yula grumbles to himself. "Is it too much to ask for my dreams to include something nice for me? At least have the ones that are naked being female and NOT male?" He lets out a sigh intent on getting this over with, turning back into the room and walking inside, making his way through the figures, following Dolly until he finds the person he is looking for, the Teddy that had on the strange 'test subject' clothes standing with his back leaning against the wall of the room as he watches the scene.
Yula walks up to Teddy he immediately questioning him about this most recent vision of the past, Teddy always seeming to be able to recognize the events rather easily. "Okay what the heck is so important about this?"
Teddy looks over to Yula. "Dmitri."
Yula shakes his head not recognizing the name. "Dmitri? Who's that?"
Dolly shudders at the name, she looking to Yula, having clearly been bothered after hearing the name. "A very evil person..."
Yula looks over to Dolly. "A bad guy?"
Teddy shakes his head no. "I guess you could call him that... I mean I hated the guy, and he absolutely hated me back. The guy was a complete nutcase and didn't make sense half the time, and for some reason he just seemed out to get me since day one." He looks back to Yula. "But why would you assume that he was a bad guy when you haven't even seen him yet? I always avoided talking about him even to you."
Yula lifts his hand point to Dolly. "But Dolly said he was evil."
Teddy lets out a smirk. "Dolly's never even met or heard of him either, so how would she know?"
Yula frowns, remembering now that Teddy couldn't see his self-projection of Dolly. "Right..." He sighs getting his mind back to the vision. "So... what does Dmitri have to do with this place?"
Teddy points to a figure that had just entered the room, a large wolverine with an unfriendly expression on his face, he making his way through the locker room until he finds this vision's Teddy, he having just finished changing out of his military uniform and into his casual clothes, he quickly starting to walk toward him. "Dmitri was the Major of my division, my superior, this is when he gave me that assignment..."
Yula seems curious. "What assignment?"
"The one that resulted in my removal from field duty because I got hurt during it, the assignment that wounded my eye."
Dmitri lifts his hand, making it onto a fist and slamming it against the doors of the lockers near Teddy, getting the attention of everyone that was in the room. "Everyone out!"
Everyone the in room begins to quickly finish changing or grabs their clothes intending to finish changing outside of the room, Teddy also about to head out, Dmitri stopping him from doing so. "Except you Conner... you stay here."
Teddy seems a little confused by the order, he though obeying as he stands in place, watching everyone else quickly leave the room, he speaking up once everyone else is gone. "What do you want now?"
Dmitri raises an eyebrow. "That's what you say in this situation? Not 'Did I do something wrong?"
Teddy frowns as he closes his locker, locking it shut. "I know how I did out there today, I didn't do anything wrong, so why would I feel the need to question my conduct?"
"Don't get snippety."
Teddy stares back at him. "Who uses the word snippety?"
Dmitri lets out a laugh, his teeth gleaming as he grins. "You should watch what you say when speaking to your superiors Conner. A lack of respect will only end badly for you." He takes a folder he's holding, holding it in Teddy's face for him to take. "You're assignment."
Teddy seems confused, he and his squad having just finished as assignment. "You just sent us home no more than fifteen minutes ago."
"Oh everyone else is free to go home, you've been handpicked for this one."
Teddy shakes his head not happy to hear that. "I don't want any more of your handpicked assignments, they're all stupid tasks that you like to give to me because you have this unhealthy love of wasting my time."
"You can't say no to your superior officer."
Teddy sighs as he tries to hand the folder back to him. "I have a date tonight. I'm busy."
Dmitri laughs looking happy to hear of how much inconvenience he was causing him. "Since when did that matter to me? You're going to have to cancel. Again."
Teddy slouches his shoulders, he well aware by now that he could never get out of these things, he taking the folder and looking it over. "Why always me? Can't you bug someone else?"
Dmitri shakes his head no. "You're special Conner, you always were."
Teddy frowns as he looks up from the folder and over to him. "If there's one thing I hate being called its special."
Dmitri turns away. "I just want to make sure you're worthy of being my comrade."
Teddy seems confused. "You're the Major of my division, we're already comrades."
"No, we are not. Me and you will not be comrades until you're eyes are once again their familiar golden colour."
Teddy glances over to his locker, staring for a moment at his reflection. "My eyes have always been only one colour. Brown. Not even a shade of brown that might be mistaken as yellow just normal brown."
"I know what you are Conner. I can tell just by looking."
Teddy stares at him in confusion, a perplex look on his face from not being sure of how to even begin questioning that, it just not making any sense at all.
Dmitri does not clarify what he had said, simply leaving the room and ending the conversation at that. Teddy looking from the doorway he had disappeared through and down to the file in his hands, he lets out an annoyed sigh as he throws it onto the bench he is standing but and turns back to his locker, opening it once more and changing back into his uniform.
Yula stares at the folder, rather curious as to what was inside, he turning back to Teddy to question him about the folder. "What exactly was the assignment that hurt you...?" Yula stops, everything around him having changed when he had turned to look back at Teddy, they once again in a completely different area, it now looking as if they were in the inside of a hospital.
Teddy stands with his back turned to Yula, a tired tone in his voice as he stares at one of the hospital beds, his own badly wounded figure laying in it, Dolly having fallen asleep in a chair at his bedside. "It was an emergency assignment... a hostage situation that had taken a turn for the worst, and several handpicked military members were to be sent in to try and gain control of the situation. I couldn't even attempt to turn something like that down and Dmitri knew it."
"The assignment did not go smoothly, we were able to keep any of the innocents from getting hurt but me and several others were wounded when an explosion was set off and the building collapsed. I was lucky to get out alive... not everyone that had been given that assignment had that luxury."
Yula walks over to the hospital bed, staring at the figure in it, he getting all kinds of wounds and broken bones treated, heavy medical attention having been focused on the right side of his face which was almost completely covered in medical bandages. "This is you... after that assignment... isn't it..."
Teddy nods his head, though he had never actually seen what he had looked like in the hospital he still recognized the scene, the feeling of being in that bed never one he would forget. "Yeah... that's me..."
Dolly wakes from her sleep when her brother begins to mumble, he having woken up and realized that she was there. "Dolly..."
Dolly gives a smile of relief, happy to see Teddy finally wake up. "Teddy... you had me so scared... I really thought that I was going to lose you. You've been out of it for days."
"Where am I?"
Dolly begins to explain, she knowing that her brother may be confused when he woke because of the combination of trauma and medications. "You're in the hospital. There was an explosion remember? The building you were in was destroyed, the rescue workers were able to pull you and your team out but you were badly hurt... you almost died..."
Teddy tries to nod his head recalling the event. "Hospital..." He tries to focus his vision, he having trouble seeing Dolly at the bedside next to him. "I can't see you..."
Dolly nods her head as she continues to explain. "Your right eye is covered, it was wounded pretty badly... they said that the right side of your face was hit with a live electrical wire, even if it wasn't covered you still wouldn't be able to see out of it, you lost vision in it, and there's a good chance that it might scar." She gets to her feet, walking around the foot of the bed and moving to the left side of it, she standing over Teddy and smiling at him. "Can you see me now?"
Teddy stares as Dolly. "Yeah..." He continues to stare at her, she looked pretty warn out, her fur and clothes messy, like she had not bathed or changed for days. "What are you doing here...? Don't you have work?"
"Work can wait. I'm not going anywhere until I know you're going to be alright."
Teddy closes his eyes turning away from her. "You worry too much..."
"Have you seen what you like right now? I think I'm fully entitled to worrying over you." She smiles at him, placing her hand on his arm. "You're a hero you know, because of you a lot of lives were saved."
Teddy shakes his head already knowing where Dolly was going with this. "Don't say it-"
Dolly continues even though she knew Teddy didn't want to hear it. "You're special Teddy."
Teddy tries to argue back with her. "I'm not-"
Dolly hushes him, talking most likely not helping the healing process. "I don't care what you say, get mad at the rest of the world all you want for calling you that, but no matter what you do Teddy, you're always going to be special to me."
Yula smiles as he looks from the scene and back to the Teddy that had been traveling with him through each vision. "Dolly really does think the world of you doesn't she?"
Teddy nods his head. "It's hard to believe we're enemies now... I never would have guessed that we would end up on opposite side of a battleground..."
Teddy pauses for a moment upon realizing something, he lifting his hand to the right side of his face and touching the scar over his eye. "Why didn't that electrical wire kill me...? I shouldn't have been able to live through something like that..."
Yula looks back at him. "I duno, I guess you're lucky." He lets out a grin. "Or maybe Dolly is right, and you really are special."
*******
Fenrir is kneeling next to Teddy, holding onto his arm as he checks for a pulse. He looking back to Zephyr with a shrug of his shoulders. "He's still alive... he's just not waking up."
Rebecca shakes her head rather concerned. "You don't think the constant exposure put him into a coma or something do you?" She worriedly looks through her data. "Oh that would be unfortunate."
Fenrir frowns as he looks back to his mother. "He was perfectly fine before he went to sleep. He's faking he's got to be."
Zephyr looks back to his wife. "Postpone the project until he wakes up. If that doesn't happen then we still have the other wilds that we collected, we'll use them instead and return to our previous trials." He leaves the room not saying anything more than that on the situation.
Fenrir gets to his feet as he making his way out of Teddy's cell, he walking up next to his mom and motioning to him. "So what do you think is keeping him asleep?"
Rebecca shakes her head she having not even the slightest idea. "I don't know..."
*******
Yula and Teddy are now sitting down in the streets, everything surrounded in a cold fog while a heavy rain pours down on them.
Yula's projection of Dolly hums to herself as she sits on the ground fixing some clothes that had gotten a hole in them, Yula looking from her and back to Teddy who is sitting down beside him. "Did Dolly ever sew clothes or bead jewellery?"
Teddy shakes his head no, those never hobbies that he had even seen his sister doing. "No, I don't think she would even begin to know how to do either."
Yula sighs as he looks back to the figure that only he could see. "How about humming songs? Did she do that a lot?"
"No, never."
Yula hangs his shoulders, he just not getting it, Dolly taking a moment to stop her work and look over to him. "I told you Yula. I'm a projection from your own mind, I'm not the actual person."
Yula looks back to Teddy. "Ok then how about this, why would I have a projection of your sister in my head?"
Teddy shakes his head. "What?"
Yula tries to think of a way to make it sound less confusing. "I mean... I see her, saw her, in a dream of mine. Why would I do that...? I mean I hardly knew her."
Teddy shrugs his shoulders. "Did you have a crush on her?"
Yula shakes his head no. "No! Not in the least."
"Are you sure that it's her? Maybe it was someone that just reminded you of her."
"Oh it's her alright."
"Maybe it's actually a female version of me."
Yula quickly looks back to 'Dolly' to double check, he letting out a sigh of relief. "No, no, I'm not manifesting you as a girl. She doesn't have the scar over her eye." Teddy lets out a laugh Yula glaring back at him. "What's so funny?"
Teddy doesn't answer him, Yula sighing as he looks away from him and to his surroundings, they having changed once again. "Now where are we?"
Teddy shrugs his shoulders unable to answer that question. "I have no idea."
Yula seems confused, he now beginning to question Teddy on this. "How could you have no idea!? You know where we were every other time, even the moment in time that it happened to be. How could you not know this?"
Teddy shrugs his shoulders, he really not able to answer that. "I'm being honest with you. I don't know."
Yula gets to his feet, this meaning then that this was not a vision from Teddy's past, it up to Yula to try and put the pieces together. "It looks like we're somewhere in the domestic city..." He pays attention to the fog, though a lack of vision when it came to his surroundings usually indicated a vision from the future this was somehow different, as if fog was a part of the vision and not filter for it. He looks over to a building near them, the lettering on a poster that had been placed on its side not inverted and backwards, this telling Yula this was not a vision from anyone's past. "I think... this is a vision of the present... something is about to happen... something that needs to be seen..." He looks over to Teddy, everything in the visions so far having been about him. "Something that needs to be seen by you."
The sound of splashing footsteps could be heard as two figures make their way down the road that Yula and Teddy are on, they coming to a stop among them and looking through their surroundings, the petite white wolf undeniably recognizable to both Yula and Teddy, they announcing his name in shock at the same time. "Shiya!"
Shiya tries to look ahead of him, it rather difficult to see through all of the fog. "This should be the place, but I can't see anyone."
Fitz frowns as he squints his eyes staring in the direction that Shiya is staring in. "Your own fault for making the fog so thick."
Teddy gets to his feet walking over to Shiya and looking him over. "What is Shiya doing in the city!?"
Yula also gets to his feet as he walks in front of Shiya to get his attention, waving his hand in front of him to see if he could see him, Yula getting no response, he unable to interact with what he was seeing just like every other vision. "He was captured by the domestics that attacked the suitors' trials..."
Fitz spots a figure through the fog, he shaking his head as he places his hand on Shiya's shoulder pushing him back while pointing out the figure he had spotted. "Dmitri's here. Trust me he is one of the last people you want to be spotted by."
Shiya seems upset to hear this. "Dmitri is the military General that Dolly keeps talking about... it is a trap, the military really does have Earth and he's using them to try and lure me in."
Fitz nods his head. "Seems that way, I guess that Super Solider friend of Dolly's was right." He looks around him knowing that it wasn't a good idea for them to stick around. "We should get out of here. We can head back to the museum, Tahki's worried sick about you, it'll be a big relief for her to know that you're alright."
Shiya nods his head agreeing with the plan, he about to turn to leave when movement catches his attention, having spotted two more figures within the fog making their way toward Dmitri, Shiya recognizing them. "Dolly and her friend are here."
Fitz glances in the direction that Shiya is looking in, indeed spotting the two figures. "They'll be fine... to Dmitri's knowledge she's still part of the military and hasn't been hiding you."
Yula seems impressed to hear this. "Dolly's been hiding Shiya from the military? Who would have thought... go Dolly."
Teddy is less enthusiastic right now, he having becoming concerned over what he had heard. "Dolly is working with Dmitri now?"
Yula shrugs his shoulders he really not having any idea. "I have no clue... I don't know anymore than you do about this situation right now." Teddy takes off, Yula worriedly running after him. "Hey wait where are you going!?"
"Dmitri is not stupid, you can't hide anything from him, if Dolly's been hiding Shiya like that guy just said than Dmitri knows about it!"
Yula looks back to Shiya, not sure if it was such a good idea to leave him behind, after all, the vision has brought them to the spot that he had been in. "We should stay with Shiya, the vision brought us to him for a reason so-" He sighs Teddy ignoring him, he beginning to look around him for the projection of Dolly his mind had been making. "What am I supposed to do about this!?" He horrified look fills Yula's face when he realizes that the humming she had been making had stopped, the projection gone. "... oh... great..." He turns back to Teddy chasing after him. "Teddy!!"
The two make their way through the fog until they reach the figure in question, Dmitri standing still and in wait, fully expecting someone to arrive here.
Teddy begins to look around him, there no sign of Dolly from this point, Teddy looking back to Dmitri and trying to figure out what to do next. "Okay is there a way I can do something? Distract him, or warn Dolly or something, anything!"
Yula shakes his head no. "We're not actually here Teddy. It's just a vision, we're seeing events through my dream, we're nowhere near this location in body or spirit."
Teddy looks back to him. "But how can we see everything then? We're here we have to be, maybe not physically but by some other means."
Yula again shakes his head no. "We're not anywhere near here. I'm still in the Raven Wolf village while you... well I have no idea where you are to be honest but I know that it's not here." He tries to find a way to explain. "It's kind of like a live broadcast on television... you can see stuff as it's happening but you can't interact or do anything with that image, you can only watch it."
Teddy is about to argue back stops, a glimpse of movement catching both his and Dmitri's attention. Dmitri reacting as he begins to make his way toward what had caught his attention, Teddy following after him concerned with this action. "He's headed in the direction that Dolly was in, he's spotted her."
Yula follows after his friend. "It's a vision Teddy! This isn't an interactive experience it's a visual one! I told you I can't do anything about it! All we can do is watch what happens."
Dmitri grins upon getting close enough to recognize who it was he was approaching. "Conner, Lockheart. What brings the two of you here in the dead of night?"
Dolly jumps in surprise, having not realized that the two of them had been spotted, she elbowing Chase in the shoulder to wake him up, having been counting on him to keep an eye out for anyone. "General Dmitri. What are you doing here?"
"Answer my question and perhaps I will answer yours."
Chase speaks up to answer. "Tremors... we were following the unexplained tremors. They started up some time ago and I thought that they might be worth looking into." He looks back to Dolly. "Miss. Conner doesn't think so... but right now I'm so desperate for a lead on my target that I'll just about follow anything."
Dmitri raises an eyebrow. "You followed tremors all the way to this location?"
"Like I said, I'm desperate for any kind of lead. I really don't want to get destroyed you know."
Dmitri motions toward Dolly. "Why is she with you?"
Chase lets out a yawn before looking back to Dolly. "We ran into one another before the tremors started, once they began though I thought it would be a good idea to bring her along as I followed them, so that she could keep me awake. I have a habit of falling asleep at the most inopportune times after all."
Dmitri looks the two of them over while Chase continues to question him. "You haven't happened to see anything have you? Or even better know what's been causing them? I mean, you must have felt the tremors, they're hard to miss, especially for those of us on the lookout for an abnormally gifted target."
Dmitri frowns. "Our target's abnormal gifts center around cold and ice. Tremors within the earth would not be his doing." He stares at Chase curiously. "How could you have followed such a thing here?"
"They're significantly stronger in the area, we've more just been blindly been searching around, blind no being an understatement because of all this fog." He looks back to Dmitri beginning to question him. "You wouldn't know anything about what would be causing these tremors do you?"
Dmitri laughs, relatively amused by the question. "Now why would I know that?"
Chase looks around him. "Well... this is a critical strategic point for members of the military, and the tremors in the earth are coming from here... so it kind of makes me think that it may be being caused by the military."
Dolly speaks up, she really not wanting Dmitri to start questioning them or prying them for information, she getting an uncomfortable vibe from him and this whole situation. "Let's just go, if Dmitri is here that means that the situation is under control. None of us were given word on any activity happening here so that means that this has nothing to do with our targets."
Chase is about to follow Dolly by stops when he sees Shiya quickly make his way through the fog, Chase instead standing his ground and continuing to keep Dmitry occupied, knowing that if Dmitry were to turn around and spot what he had that Dolly's friend would be in danger. "General Dmitri..." He frowns knowing that he would have to say something big to keep Dmitri's attention on him. "What do you know about the Earth Source?"
Dolly gets a nervous look on her face as grabs onto Chase's arm, asking the General directly about that not about to result in anything good. "Chase, maybe we shouldn't-"
Dmitri speaks up to question Chase, interrupting Dolly before she can finish speaking. "What do you know about the Earth Source?"
"Not much more than that it's powerful, and that the military might have its hands on it, how else would they be able to make the ground shake like this?" He begins to look around him, things coming into place. "The tremors are strongest in this area, so it must be nearby, and you're here, so you must know about it."
Dmitri lets out a laugh. "You are correct. I do know about him, as do other select members of the military. One of which you do not happen to be of, so for your own safety I suggest you drop the topic and never bring it up again."
Dmitri is about to turn around, Chase speaking up once more despite the warning he had just received. "The source isn't a prisoner is he... he's cooperating with the military, to the point where he's so well trusted that he doesn't need a guard." Dmitri stares back at Chase, while Chase begins to explain. "There's no one else from the military here with you... and everything is leading to this point... it's you... isn't it?"
Dolly shakes her head no unable to accept such a thing. "Chase that's impossible, General Dmitri couldn't possibly be-" She stops for a moment, actually thinking over what Chase had said before in concerns to the Earth Source's call out for help actually being a trap, how the other sources that were in the city were staying clear of it and how these calls for help only started after Shiya has created the fog within the city and had alerted those that knew of his skills that he had come out of hiding and was now on the move. She looks back to General Dmitri, the fact that he was out here alone with no one else unable to go ignored. There were no prisoners that could be used to convey this message, and no military personal to watch him, and Shiya had said himself that the messages between sources could not be re-created.
Dmitri shakes his head as he approaches the two of them, grabbing onto Chase's arm and holding him in place. "You know you would have to be the one I was the least worried about when it came to figuring this out. You're not an intelligence model and you were always so incredibly lazy and completely oblivious to everything around you."
The sound of a gunshot fills the air, Dolly running to Chase's side when he slouches forward Dmitri still holding him up by his arm while holding his gun in the other, he speaking to Chase as he holds his hand over the bullet wound he had just received in an attempt to stop it from bleeding. "Not so good at dodging bullets when the barrel of the gun they're fired from is right up against your body now are you."
He lets go of Chase taking several steps back, Dolly at her companion's side as she also tries to stop the bleeding from the wound the bullet had caused, Dmitri lifting his weapon and now pointing it at her head. "What about you Conner. How good are you and dodging bullets from this range?"
Dmitri pulls the trigger, a loud gunshot once again filling the air.
*******
Teddy wakes up with a jolt, his heart racing as he lets out a horrified yell while quickly sitting up in his cell, both Fenrir and Rebecca jumping from the noise, startled by this sudden action.
Teddy eyes dart from one area of the room to another, he back within the cell at the True Blood facility, he now beginning to panic. "Dolly, what happened to Dolly?"
Rebecca walks over to Teddy's cell looking in at him. "It looks like he's awake. I'll have him prepped for the project immediately, we don't want to fall behind schedule any more than we already have."
Fenrir looks through the glass once his mother steps back to start up the perpetrations, he questioning Teddy on why he had given him a scare by waking up with such a start. "What happened?"
Teddy is breathing heavily while trying to make sense of everything that he had seen, he looking back to Fenrir and answering his question. "I think I just saw my sister get killed..."
"Is that why you're crying?"
Teddy lifts his hand to the corner of his eyes feeling his wet tears, what Fenrir had said was indeed true.
Several soldiers gather into the room, the door to Teddy's cell unlocking as they prepared to have him once again moved to the room where he would encounter the source, Fenrir getting to his feet getting ready to also accompany him. "Relax, it was only a dream."
Teddy shakes his head no, it not as simple as his guard had thought it was. "I wish it had been a dream..."
*******
Yula looks around him, his location once again having changed, he now alone, no one, not even Teddy whom had been accompanying him through the last few visions, or his projection of Dolly anywhere in sight. "Hello!! Anyone!"
A worried look fills his face, his last vision having ended as soon the shot had been fired, he not knowing if Dolly was okay or not. "Dolly? Teddy...?"
He looks around him there absolutely nothing to be seen, no people, objects or anything. Yula becoming frightened, feeling more alone and scared than ever, his heart still racing after his last vision, his voice shaking as he begins to question himself. "Oh come on how come there's nothing here, a vision means that there's something for me to see, so why can't I see anything...?"
He begins to cry, seeing a friend get hurt not something he could so easily forget by moving to the next vision on the list. "Can't I wake up now? I want to wake up now..."
A familiar humming fills the air, Yula recognizing it as the song his projection of Dolly was always humming to herself, Yula's ears perking upright as he stares in the direction that it was coming from, he now beginning to run in the direction the sound was coming from, even if the one making it was just a projection it was still something so that he wouldn't be alone.
The things around him begin to change the darkness forming into walls and objects until Yula finds himself running through an old building. Yula recognizing it as the old layout the military bases used to have back when he was a child.
Yula's run slows down to a walk as he looks at down the long hall he had been making his way through, everything about this place familiar... and not in a found way but in a frightening one.
He continues to follow the sound while overlooking his surroundings, walking passed closed doors that he knew held no important, past a crack in the wall that he knew was coming up because he had walked down these halls thousands of times before. "I know this place..."
He comes to stop in front of an open door looking inside, somehow knowing that this was the room that he was supposed to enter, an all too familiar scene meeting his gaze. There standing in the middle of the room stood a beautiful wolf with fur as black as night, her brown eyes curiously looking over the objects in the room as she hummed a song to herself.
Yula stares at her, he knew this was a vision, the one that he could never handle, the one he would wake himself from every time before it could finish so that he could make himself forget the details, this moment the beginning of it, the way it always started, the part that he always remembered the most clear. "Mom..."
His mother doesn't look at him as she continues to look throughout the room, she taking a small statue off of a desk that was within the room and looking over it, a smile filling her face when she notices all of the little intricate details in it.
Yula walks up to her, he couldn't deal with this right now, he had already seen someone close to him get hurt. "Mom... just run away... just leave while you can... just for once can you not get killed."
Yula's mother continues as she had been doing, unable to hear Yula's warning or even see that he was there.
Yula turns away from her, he never able to stop what was going to happen, the only thing he was able to do was try and wake up before it happened, a voice stopping him before he could attempt to do so again. "Don't Yula. You need to see this, and you need to remember."
Yula looks towards the voice, it being familiar to him, he finding himself staring at Dolly, she greeting him with a warm smile was that unfamiliar on her. "You again... the other Dolly... not the real one that I just saw getting hurt... but the made up Dolly..." He looks from her and back to his mother as she looked through the room in her curiosity and then back to her, he explaining the situation to her. "This is a vision, one that has nothing to do with you and Teddy... he's gone I'm done guiding him, so why are you still here?"
Dolly shrugs her left shoulder up. "The story you must come to understand has not yet finished." She looks around the room that they are in. "I was here."
Yula shakes his head no, he having seen this dream over a thousand times by now, and even if he could never remember it all he as least knew that Dolly had never before been in it. "You weren't even born yet!"
Footsteps begin to sound approaching the room, Yula tensing up as he holds his breath stepping back from the entrance. "I need to wake up... I don't want to see this again..."
"Yula you need to, all the way to the end. Of all the times that you have seen this you have never fully seen it through, and you need to, or else it will never stop."
Yula shakes his head no. "I can't do it..."
Dolly places her hand within Yula's gripping tightly. "You can and you will. It's alright, this time I'll be with you, you're not alone."
Yula looks back to Dolly, not understanding the point to this. "What is there to tell, she dies! I know that!
Dolly nods her head yes. "I know... but there is still a message here that you must see and understand Yula."
