Life of a Soldier
Cold, alone, and drenched in sweat. All these different images, running through my head.
A single question, pops up in my mind. Did they leave us behind?
Cheeks smeared in blood, clothing full of mud. Explosions all around, I'm thrown to the ground.
Bullets are flying, missing and hitting. A friend falls beside me, blood he is spitting.
I take a deep breath, and stand while aiming. I let out a silent scream, my rifle starts maiming.
A laugh escape my lips, a twisted, evil sound. As enemy after enemy, falls to the ground.
I'm a reaper, a demon, a harvester of souls. Madness is rising, my body it controls.
I'm a human no more, tonight I'm a beast. You cannot stop me, on your soul I will feast.
A perfect warmachine, no longer afraid! Fleeing is useless, as I cut you down with my blade!
While death fills the air, I grow bolder and bolder. And thats when I notice, that my body's getting colder.
Suddenly I collapse, strenght leaving my limb. Looking down I notice blood, things are looking grim.
Adrenaline is pulsing, am I going to die? I look up at the heavens, not expecting a reply.
My vision is fading, everything going black. Friends falling around me, under enemy attack.
Shuddering, silent and cold to the bone. A question in my mind, will I ever make it home?
