"Have you figured out who this person is yet Lieutenant?"

"Great timing Sergeant, we just ran the DNA through the most recent database. Civilians and convicts have already been ruled out so now we are running it through military personnel." He is interrupted by a loud beep from the computer. "Ok, we have one match." "Who is it?" "It seems to be a man named Command Sergeant Major Martin. Lets just pull up his file and-" A loud siren wailed as the computer said "Restricted information. Please enter valid name and password." "Move." said the Sergeant as he pushed the Lieutenant out of the way and started typing in his information. The computer buzzed and said "Access denied. Clearance level five required to access files." "I can't believe this." "What's the matter Sergeant?" "I only have clearance level three. I suppose the only person who has level five clearance in this building is Colonel Hodges, and he is in a meeting right now." "Looks like we'll have to wait for him." said the Lieutenant, sitting down. "Looks like it."said the Sergeant as he sat down beside the Lieutenant.

"Guys." said Sorath as he started to strapped on his body armor. "What is it?" asked Delilah and Jack in unison. "Bill said he would fly us there and back. Also, if any of us fall behind or get captured then the others will continue to the evacuation point, is that understood?" Jack nodded as he started loading the magazines for the guns, and Delilah nodded as she sheathed her camillus. "Don't forget that we can't carry much. We are not trying to get any more weapons. If you want one then you carry it yourself. I will let you choose lethal or nonlethal force. Just don't set off the alarm early, and remember that they will shoot you on sight. We have one hour to get prepared." Sorath said as he unsheathed his kukri knife and went to practice on the targets outside.

"Colonel Hodges, I'm glad we found you." said Johnson as he and Downs ran towards him. "What a coincidence I was just looking for you two as well." said Hodges with a joyful tone. "You were?" said Downs and Johnson in unison. "Yes. Why don't you join me in my office?" he asked as he opened the door."So," said Hodges as he closed the door" I hear you want to access Command Sergeant Major Martins files. Is that correct?" "Yes it is Colonel." "Why do you wish to look at his files?" "Because we think he is behind multiple murder cases." "Why is that?" "He was the only match to DNA found at the scene of the apartment we traced the killer to." "Lieutenant." "Yes sir." "I want you to tell me exactly what you saw at that apartment." "Um- I think that I saw a ... I think I saw a humanoid fox." "Okay then now that that is cleared up," said the colonel while sitting down,"I have some news for you two. I cannot give you my password so I will pull up the files in here. You have also painted a target on the back of your head because of what you know. " "What are you going to do to us sir?" asked the Lieutenant in a shaky tone of voice. "I will have you relocated and have your clearance levels raised so that you wont have to die because of a firing squad. I cannot let you leave my office sergeant." he said as he saw Johnson heading for the door. "Why is that." "I didn't pull up these files for you to leave as soon as they finished appearing did I? I gave you access to not only Martins files but also the files of his associates. If you need to keep something then write it down in code so that only you two know how to read it quickly. I don't want you two to have other people seeing what you are looking at so don't print anything out. Only leave this room once you have read everything." As he walked out of the door he muttered to himself "I hope they know what they are getting into." "Sir why did you leave those two men in your office." asked his secretary. "They are helping me with some files. Don't worry about them they will leave in a little while." "Okay then have a good night sir.". As he walked out the door into the night he simply waved goodbye.

"There's my favorite little coon. How have you been buddy?" "Call me little again and I'll knock you out. Got it Jack?" "Yeah I get it. Seriously though, how have you been?"I'm okay. I'm just dreading all the names I am going to have to write down when I get back." "Then we better hurry so we don't lose our customers." Have you ever flown one of these before?" asked Sorath as he interrupted Jack. "If it flies, I've flown it. I am sorry to tell you this now but since the B2 is only meant for two in the cockpit, and since there isn't really an easy way out of the cockpit you will have to be dropped out like bombs." "We kind of figured that so we all agree that it is okay. I assume that you have flown a Blackhawk before." "Yeah. I was wondering what I'd be picking you up." " There is a clearing about five miles from the arsenal in the forest. That is where we need you to pick us up two hours after you drop us off. You are to leave after exactly three minutes after landing. Don't wait unless one of us runs out of the forest. You got it?" Bill nodded as he slipped on his gloves."Don't forget your pistol when you come to get us." "Okay. Get everyone in the bomber, while it is still dark."

"Sergeant, can you believe this?" "I don't. This is just wrong." They said as they stared at the colonels screen. "I figured that he just went AWOL or something simple like that. I never thought he would agree to something like this." "He was not the first subject but he was the first to survive." "Before the program was shut down there were four other survivors. Martin broke out with private Bill, agent Delilah, and corporal Jack three months after the program was terminated." he read "What happened to the fifth test subject?" "She also escaped but she did so alone about one month after the others. Even if she was spotted by the guards she would have been shot on sight." he continued reading "Why was that?" "She was the strongest and most dangerous of them all. Except for her everybody's strength had been measured. She broke the scale that was supposed to be used for weighing industrial supplies. Whenever she was transported she was chained and sedated. Strangely enough though she was also the most peaceful by far. She didn't even kill the guards, she knocked them out." "How has nobody noticed her black and red wings yet?" "She can retract them willingly. It only leaves a pattern where her wings were." "Why is it that they were chosen instead of others?" "None of them had any known siblings, all of their parents were dead, they had no close friends who would miss them much, they all worked for the government in some way, and they all volunteered for this." "So we are looking for two foxes, a wolf, a raccoon, and a cat. Even if we weren't being sworn to silence we couldn't say anything without being committed to an asylum. What was the fifth test subjects name anyway?" "Her name was Veronica Hunt."

The Tales of Sorath (chapter two)

"What was that thing?" yelled Sgt. Johnson at his team once they were back at the base. "That. . . that. . . **thing** couldn't have been human, but there must be some way to explain why he looked like that. He must have been wearing a mask." Even if...

As the lights flashed outside of the house the two occupants paid no mind to them. One was to preoccupied with running as fast as he could away from his follower. The second was simply walking as if nothing was happening until he heard the second wave...
