So heres chap 13! enjoy you crazy yiff mob!

Chapter 13.

Kyle was already out on the football field doing laps for gym, the fall air not doing much for the boys in the name of comfort. The gym teacher was a strict little guy, a wrestler in high school and college, but not really paying attention to anything else but the wrestling and so he ended up here yelling at the fatties who couldn't keep up on the field or half assing a punishment for the jocks who technically misbehaved.

Kyle was mostly ignored mercifully; Coach Mitch didn't point him out for anything great and didn't yell at him for being lazy or unfit. He kept pace with the majority of the class who weren't try hard's who would end up like the coach, and were capable of the three laps without being in need of a break.

Duke had not shown up to class and it was a bit concerning. Kyle was scared that he had really hurt Duke or had scared him off with his desperate mood swing in lunch. The thought made him sick. In wanting him to stay, he feared he had forced him away. Not that running away was a great way to get him to stay in the first place...

This weeks 'lesson' was softball, and with their class being all guys it got quite a few groans. "I know I know you all think it's girly and lame but man up, it's fucking gym class not the rest of your lives." The Coach yelled. In truth the school board felt softball was safer because the ball was easier to catch, a conversation Coach Mitch obviously would have wanted to flip shit over, but stayed quiet for his job's sake.

They picked teams and played one big game, the outfield of each team containing six guys instead of four, but it was better than two games being played and one guy responsible for the whole thing and without a short stop. Coach Mitch was permanent pitcher.

Kyle got a cheap mit from the pile that clearly wouldn't stop the ball from hurting if he caught it, and clearly had just enough room for the ball to fit. He started his jog to the outfield and was immediately rammed into and shoved to the ground from the side with a bit of oomph.

Kyle looked up; he wasn't hurt, just caught off guard, his mind elsewhere. "Oops," Finn said without even a hint of trying to fake sympathy.

"Cut the shit Chambers." The coach called out, not even bothering to see if Kyle was okay.

"Got it coach!" Finn called back grinning with a sick pleasure down at Kyle. "Don't fuck this up today Lane. I kinda feel like winning, and if we don't win I know who to blame."

Kyle rolled his eyes and got up off the ground, heading to the outfield once more. Finn wasn't pleasant in normal circumstances, but by now he had definitely heard about him and Alice and would be six times worse. Kyle laughed a bit; the kid had a pass from gym for varsity sports and didn't take it because it was all he was good at.

Kyle was still worried about what he was going to do. He imagined scenarios against his will again, Duke not being there to drive him home, Duke not picking him up, or answering his texts, or that stupid smile not being seen again...his old life. He shivered at how depressing his life was before Duke had made it infinitely better. He had always just gone through the motions, Duke had added necessary change for the better, Duke had been there for him...

The game still went on even though he was deep in thought, balls were hit, balls were missed, and more importantly balls never flew to Kyle. He was thankful for that, it wasn't that he was bad at softball; it was just that he didn't feel much like playing. He watched the game to distract himself from his thoughts, but he didn't want to actually participate at that moment.

The game went on still and no Duke, Kyle noted that Steven Phan was up to bat. He was a big kid; he wasn't a runner but he was big so you always assume he was a power hitter. Outfield was told to move back by everyone infield, and they all complied. Kyle waited in anticipation.

A strike- That was good. A ball, it wasn't as good as a strike but still not bad. Everyone was making fun of the way he swung so hard and missed so much. It was in that laughter that you heard the crack of bat on ball and the large neon yellow sphere flew straight into the air in Kyle's direction.

"Because why not...?" Kyle wondered aloud, moving up because the ball had gone more up than out. Players on base wondered whether or not to run, most took the shot shouting something along the lines of, "It's Lane, we've got this."

Finn shouting more like "Don't you even think about missing you pussy!"

Kyle took a deep breath and flashed back to his little league games, all the hours ha had practiced with his dad. It was like breathing, his hand closed around the ball and stayed there. There was nothing else to it, he just simply caught it and on instinct whipped it back at Finn on First base for a double play.

Buuut, Kyle forgot the universe was not on his side...

He wasn't sure if it was shock or not but Finn was so delayed in the uptake that the ball nailed him straight in the chest where his mit should have been and he went down. Kyle froze, "Shit..." Was all he managed to say before running in like the rest of the guys, "No no no no no no..." He started under his breath, like the words would undo what just happened, "Damn it! This is all I need, a psycho jock after my head for two reasons..."

Had he not been freaking the hell out Kyle would have found it funny that the shot had gotten him a lot of pats on the back. "Nice shot dude, nailed him." and "Damn, he dropped like a ton of bricks." Would have been his favourite comments if of course he wasn't fearing for his life.

A little whistle broke through the noise, "What an arm you have there." Duke's voice cut through them all, making Kyle turn immediately and stop his jog in. Duke was walking out onto the field with a yellow late slip and his regular clothes on, his face focused on Finn, seemingly admiring the hit.

Kyle was confused, his mind stuck in between panic and relief, both breaking through randomly to dominate his actions, "The better to knock Finn on his butt my dear," he said without thinking too much about it, eyes flashing over to the mini crowd, "Shit he's gunna be pissed."

In retrospect it was a bit unnecessary for a crowd to gather, Coach Mitch informing all of them of their stupidity quite clearly in his booming voice, "All right back up you idiots, he isn't dead. You think the ball killed him or anything; he's a big boy he can handle himself without you lot gathering around gawking like virgins. You!" he called, pointing at Duke, "Get over here, you're the new kid right? Why aren't you dressed?"

"I am dressed coach, there's only a few minutes left in class so Mr Wilson said to just hand you the note, but you guys weren't inside so I just let myself out." Duke informed him, jogging over.

"I'll tell you when it's too late to participate in my class thank you," he informed Duke swiping the pass from his hand, "You're on field, get a mit from the bag."

Finn got up and glared at Kyle, the coach glaring at him all the while. Finn wasn't stupid, the coach skinned anyone alive for poor sportsmanship, "Nice shot Lane," he stated so convincingly that if Kyle didn't know any better he would say was real.

But Kyle did know better, 'Nice shot Lane.' Roughly translated to 'Nice shot, I gave you props, and now let me show you my shot...' Finn was a vengeful little creep, no one ever crossed him on purpose. Kyle gulped.

Duke's mitted hand came down on his shoulder, a big smile greeting Kyle when he looked up, "Seriously dude, nice catch, sweet throw, why didn't you mention you kicked ass at softball?" Kyle hit him in the gut, looking up at a confused face probably with one of his own, "Oww, what was that for?"

"What gives, why aren't you mad at me?" Kyle asked bluntly, walking over to his position, the team calling for Duke across the field, "Never mind...I'm sorry."

Duke smiled and patted his shoulder, "It's not like we won't have time to talk later Kyle." Then he ran over to left field, the only one in jeans: as if the universe always tried to make him stick out and be unique.

Kyle sighed, "But how long do you have to talk?" he asked no one under his breath.

~~~~
Kyle counted himself beyond lucky that nothing happened in the locker rooms. He and Finn changed in different areas, they left, and the day was done. Kyle kept his eyes everywhere watching for the jocks distinctly spiked black hair and bright yellow jacket, but he didn't catch sight of him. Not that it would have mattered honestly, Duke's towering self, followed behind Kyle wherever he went anyway giving away his location at all times.
"Why so jumpy?" Duke asked, as Kyle triple glanced over his shoulder at his locker. "What's he going to do in school? Honestly, why worry about it?"
"It's not in school I'm worried about," Kyle noted, "And why wouldn't I worry? I beamed the ex of my date tomorrow; her psycho ex who doesn't think it's over if what you said was true."
Duke blinked a moment, "Why would I lie?"
Kyle managed to crack a smile and let out a little worried laugh, "It's just a figure of speech dummy." He laughed, "Can we just get out of here and back to the safety of home?"
"You still consider home safe?" Duke asked once more without thinking. When the rudeness of it hit him he rubbed the back of his neck a tad bit embarrassed, "Sorry, that's not what I meant."
That actually did make Kyle smile a bit strangely enough, Duke's straight forward and almost comically childish actions and reactions had grown on him a bit. It was refreshing to get such straight forward honesty, even if it was from a strange source and in the strangest places. "Yes it is, and yes I do. It's at least known, it's comfy in an odd way. I know what to expect, I'm used to it." He shrugged and then sighed, "Finn is a completely other..." he paused for a second grinning, "Okay I was going to say a completely other ball game but that would have been beyond lame."
Duke burst out laughing; his loud obnoxious contagious and joyous laugh. Most people in the halls stopped to look over at him. Kyle ducked his head in his locker embarrassed beyond belief. "THAT'S GREAT! Hahaha!" Duke laughed, "I'm glad you said it...hahaha..." he let the last giggles out. "Wow sorry, that was a bit loud wasn't it?"
Kyle slung his bag over his shoulder and started following Duke down to his locker, "Just a bit above the norm for a laugh." Kyle said simply but Duke didn't miss the 'no shit!' undertone to his voice.
"Yeah yeah, okay Mr Sarcastic, I'll tone it down," Duke boomed, retrieving his three bags as always.
"Done change a thing," Kyle said before he realized he had wanted to speak. He meant it, but he didn't mean to make it sound as desperate as it did, "And seriously what the hell is in these bags?!" he shouted, trying to cover up his embarrassment with a change of subject.
Duke pulled them away, "Oh no no no nosy. You remember that secret society?" he asked in a joking fashion.
Kyle cocked his head in disbelief, "No seriously, what's in there I'm just wondering."
Duke shook his head, "Sorry, no can do boss, sworn to secrecy, and silence. If I told you I'd have to kill you."
Kyle would have called him ridiculous and stupid, but to be perfectly honest all of Duke's distracting conversation had calmed him down enough to properly walk down the hall without looking twice in every direction. It was strange how in a few days Kyle had completely opened up to Duke like it was no big deal. He opened up in four days with the big goof ball that took Quinn years to reach. It made him feel like a bit of an ass to Quinn, but he didn't want to go from panicking to dwelling on guilt so he tried to think of anything else to say of think of.
"So this weekend you wanna hang out at my place or your place? There really isn't much to do at my house though," he added, "We'd end up playing video games or anywhere, but that's depending on Scott's whims for the day."
Duke didn't answer for a moment and Kyle wasn't looking so he missed a knowing grin, "Well my house is a mess at the moment, the boxes and my mom won't appreciate me bringing friends into a disaster like that." He tossed in; obviously a bit scared of his mom angry. "But I really do want to hang out!" he added with a grin.
"Play some games?" Kyle asked rhetorically, making Duke laugh for a moment.
"Now you're getting it."
They walked to his car again, bags in tow, Kyle staring down at his feet as he walked. He still felt like an immature brat for his little escape routine earlier. Duke didn't deserve to be attacked by a mob of desperate girls who he wasn't interested in, or at least didn't show interest in. But something was bugging the back of his mind, playing games in his head. Guilt was terrible and overwhelming, not just his now, but any guilt, it all sucked terribly.
"You okay? You seem distracted, not still worried about Finn are you? We're at the truck."
"No it's not that. I'm just...one sec," he tossed his stuff in the back and got in the front seat and claimed the front. "I'm just...sorry." Kyle finally said, not at all used to apologizing for his actions. He had never really had this problem before. "I kind of flipped out on you earlier and it's not your fault." He finally ended, still not meeting Duke's eye. He wasn't scared; he just anticipated _something _as retaliation.
"That? It's fine dude, honest." Duke shrugged it off and started the car, "You think I was mad or something?"
"Kinda," Kyle admitted, "Just a little bit."
"Dude it's fine. Haha you should worry less about me being mad than Finn, and less about Finn than homework. I kinda did bring that one out of nowhere huh?" he scratched the back of his neck, "I'm not exactly the ideal friend you know?"
Kyle almost interrupted with complete rebuttal but Duke went on.
"I'm awkward and not good in social situations in school, and I don't know how social things are supposed to work and...well I wasn't exactly supportive of you getting the girl now was I?"
Kyle once more tried to stop him but he wouldn't stop talking long enough to let Kyle get any words out.
Duke was a nervous wreck, he felt his palms sweating and his inner beast howling and his stomach fill with little butterflies. "So I kinda got you a little something as a token of my apology."
Kyle had had enough. "DUKE! Shut up a moment! You don't need to give me anything, it's fine." The truck was only quiet for a second as Kyle tried to remember what he had to say. "Geez you don't stop talking when you get going do you?"
The big guy could not help but relax for a moment and take a breath, "No not really," he admitted with a small grin, "I'm just anxious is all." There it was again, that strange mix of dominant and submissive scents. Kyle was trying to work out his own problems, to confide, but he still wanted to be heard; he was still subconsciously on the defensive even when just in the car. His scent was all over the place, Duke wished very much that changing his nose wouldn't be so obvious in this proximity. He wanted to more completely understand Kyle's pheromone make-up. He wanted to completely take it in and not just the teaser a human form nose got him.
"You're ranting aside; really you don't need to get me anything. I don't often accept gifts anyway." Kyle said simply, as if the conversation was over.
"But I already got it, it's from places I've been and all that." Duke interjected, reaching over to pull the present from the glove compartment. "It's in here somewhere I think..."
"You are a mess." Kyle pushed his hand away from the compartment, "Seriously, don't give me anything, I'll feel all weird about not having something in return to give you," he lied terribly.
Duke gave him a look and his eyes went back to the road, "Seriously if my eyes weren't supposed to be ahead of me I'd get it. Why don't you like presents?" He questioned. Really his mind was on whether or not the gift was in the back seat...if so Kyle might not have a gift to reject in the first place.
"I already told you I just would feel bad about not having something to give back," Kyle repeated. "And didn't you see Mr Wilson earlier?"
"Yeah but back to the important thing, why do you not like gifts!?" Duke pressed.
"I'm sorry about that; I think I got you on his list of people to talk to immediately. He has a creepy fixation on me," Kyle stated with a laugh.
"You're avoiding the question and that makes me want to know more," Duke stated. "But yes he does, we talked about it. Uh, you that is, kinda for a minute."
Kyle looked over "You talked about me? What did you guys say?"
"Stop changing the subject! Why don't you like presents?!"
"Why do you care?!" Kyle shouted back. Neither was angry or annoyed, Kyle just decided to raise his voice in response to Duke who continued to get louder for no discernible reason.
"Because I got you a gift and want to know why you don't want it! Why don't you want it!?" Duke shouted louder, laughing a little when he finished at how ridiculous he sounded shouting in such a calm voice.
"Maybe I just don't like people spending money on me!" Kyle stated.
"Well that's stupid!" Duke continued to shout, "You need to get over it if you want to let people in!"
"Well I don't want to let people in!" Kyle responded louder than the other boy, laughing also at the ridiculousness of their voices.
"Why not?" Duke asked at a normal sound level. "That seems like a sure fire way to wind up alone, and you let me in...I think," he pointed out. "You did let me in right? I'm not out in the cold?"
Kyle rolled his eyes, "I guess I did let you in, but THAT my good Sir was just a happy accident. I have no idea what happened because quite truthfully I don't let most people in on a regular basis and no matter how generous most don't recover from such an interesting first impression as you made."
Duke froze halfway through forming a word; he honestly didn't have any kind of rebuttal. The human had out talked him. "Not fair, and let's make that taboo, I feel like bring up my uhh...motive, might make you question why you let me drive you around...or why you follow me around at night to play games..." he admitted. He knew he had gotten better than he was that night, but still he wasn't exactly a model citizen of Sweeton; or anywhere else for that matter.
Duke cursed Kyle's home for being so close to the school as he pulled into the driveway.
"Fine fine fine, but seriously," Kyle started, getting his stuff from the back, "One, thanks for the ride, it is pretty nice not having to deal with annoying freshmen. Second, I don't really know what made me give you a chance, but I'm happy I did. You're a good friend..."
Duke tried to look at Kyle's face which was looking down emptily at the seat, "You okay? Is something wrong?"
Kyle shook his head, "It's nothing."
Duke cocked his head in disbelief, opening the door, "Get back in here, it's always 'nothing' when it's very bad."
"I'm fine," Kyle said simply going to close the door, he even faked a smile, "Honestly it's okay. See yah later.
"Oh no you don't," Duke announced, re-opening the door, "Sit. I know this is about me leaving okay, so don't even try and hide it or lie to me."
Kyle tried to fight again, but Duke's straight face made him submit. He left his bag outside the truck and sat in the seat again. It was always bittersweet whenever he really appreciated how good a friend this strange kid was. Kyle always wanted the opposite of what was best for him in that moment and Duke made him see it.
"I just want to know when you are going...I really don't want you to go." Kyle said simply, not ashamed of a single word he said. It was all the truth, Duke was one of the best things that had happened to him in a long time. He had had fun for the first time in a long time, he had found self-confidence, he had run through the woods at night, and he had gotten a bit of perspective when it came to Alice.
Duke sighed, "I'm sorry, I didn't know you would take it so hard to be honest. I don't know when I'll be leaving; it's all up to my family really."
"It sucks that your dad has you moving all around," Kyle emphasized, "But Quinn told me I should just be having fun while you're still around, so I'm going to try that, starting tonight."
Duke had totally forgotten about his dads 'job' and was very grateful he didn't say anything to stupid in his little brain fart. But Kyle's comment made him happy; he was gunna get to play again tonight, "So what should we do?"
"Isn't it your turn to pick or something?" Kyle pointed out.
Duke thought about it, "Huh, I guess it is...I'll think of something don't you worry." He had NEVER overlooked his own games before. That was strange, he had sub consciously handed his game over to Kyle completely and entirely, they were HIS games and he was willing to hand the rules over to a submissive Omega...what was wrong with him? He had never done that with anyone...not even a single past playmate, not even a past lover. His games were his, and he was SHARING?!
~~~~

The lanky boy entered his home with a smile on his face, it was nice having plans later. He started walking to the kitchen when he noticed his mother on the couch asleep soundly. That was strange; she was supposed to be at work. What she was doing home so soon was beyond him. Still, he didn't want to wake her so he snuck into the kitchen to grab a snack and started heading up the stairs.

"Scott?" he heard from the couch, making him walk back down stairs to see what his mother wanted.

"No, it's me Kyle," he said quietly in a hushed voice as to not be so loud to one who was just waking up. "Scott isn't home from work yet."

His mom rolled over a little, and started to moan a depressing little sound, dry sobs making her body rack, "He...he still isn't home?"

Kyle blinked a moment, "What do you mean still, it's only three fifteen mom, he gets out of work at five."

"No!" she raised her voice just a bit, somehow making her more pathetic and pitiable, "He...he didn't get home from work last night, and now he still isn't home!" she whined.

Kyle still felt the remnants of bruises and sores on his face and head. There was no pity or worry for that man, there was only anger that he had made his mother so sad. He was a necessary evil at this point in her life so he might as well show up and not be a total waste of space. "He'll be fine mom...want some tea?" She nodded, still not sitting up, eyes not even open yet. Kyle walked to the kitchen to get the kettle on, she needed to calm down and get some real sleep. She had most likely stayed up the entire night and most of the morning waiting of him, like a sad little child waiting for their parent to return to them, she was lost without him...

He returned to her side, getting her some more blankets from the couch and covering her more completely then the little blanket that ran from chest to knee. Kyle held her hand and she held his back, trying to sleep again. Absently he ran his thumb over her cold hand, "How long did you stay up mom?"

She groaned, "I don't know sweetie...after four, I know that," she answered dreamily.

"Did you skip work waiting for him?" Kyle asked with the same gentle voice as before.

She nodded and after a moment Kyle saw tears at her eye lids, "I'm not setting a very good example am I? I just wanted to make sure he was safe...he would have wanted a meal if he came home so late I didn't want to be asleep if he was over worked and hungry..."

The boy stifled his anger and pity, burying them deep down so he could comfort her. "It's okay mom, but you need to sleep after your tea. It's been a long day for you."

After another minute of just running his thumb over her bony hand the kettle started whistling the way kettles do and Kyle went to tend to it. He turned off the flame beneath the simple silver kettle and got his mother's pink mug from the cupboards. With a sigh he went to the cupboard just above the counter where they kept cereals and medicines and assorted items that didn't have a distinct place. He crushed up some vitamins, mixed in some protein powder and crushed sleeping pills. Then he added it to the mug, enough to coat the bottom, not nearly as much as she needed, but little enough so she wouldn't notice in her stupor.

He was used to doing this; she had been so tired recently, so exhausted all the time. He skin got paler as of late to accompany the dark circles under her eyes. She was withering away into nothing and all he could do was watch. She rarely ever ate, and when she did it was too little and all fake. With good intentions he got a tea bag in the cup and added the hot water, using a spoon to add in sugar and mix the concoction thoroughly.

His mom accepted the mug without hesitation and gave him a little thanks. She didn't have time to question any strange flavours she may not have even noticed before the sleeping pills took a hold of her already drowsy body. Kyle took the mug from her hand before she dropped it and watched her snuggle up to a good healthy sleep. He kissed her forehead, "Night mom...feel better."

~~~~
Kyle eyed his still sleeping mother as he left the house. It was dark, the air was nippy, and the large green truck sat waiting in his driveway, headlights blinding Kyle in the darkness. Covering his eyes Kyle assumed his front seat. "Hey, so what's the plan tonight big guy?" Kyle asked, getting his seatbelt on, "We don't normally take your car to the park."
"We're going somewhere different," Duke said simply not bothering to elaborate any further, "You wearing warm clothes?"
"I think so; I don't really know how cold it's going to be if I don't know where we are going though," he pointed out, trying to get Duke to tell him. His dash clock only said ten o'clock, but that was late enough that most places would be closed so Kyle didn't have a clue what they were doing.
They drove down the road in relative silence. For the first time Kyle felt awkward in the car, like if he asked any more questions he would be disturbing a great silence that took up space, so he stared out the window at the sleeping town. It made him almost embarrassed he realized. Duke had travelled all over the country and maybe even the world and Kyle grew up in this small little town where everyone knew everyone and their grandparents. Kyle had always imagined a big city, a lively city an eventful one where things happened. Kyle must seem like a hick to him...
Now self-conscious and awkward he found himself tapping the door or squirming about in his seat. Duke didn't seem to notice in the slightest, his eyes just stared ahead at the road, his hands just directing the automobile to his destination. But by ten fifteen with no end in sight and the two on the road outside the town Kyle had to ask something.
"So can I ask where we are going?"
"Yeah," Duke replied lazily.
Kyle waited for more but it never came, "Where are we going?"
"Well I can't tell you that," Duke shot him a playful grin, totally messing with him.
Kyle rolled his eyes, just grateful that they finally started talking, "Well what kind of answer is that? Why say I can ask if I won't get an answer yah jerk?"
"Well I only said you could _ask, I never said I would answer. You _did have the capability. But it's okay just relax we are almost there."
Kyle pouted for a moment but didn't want it to fall silent again, "You've travelled all over right?"
Duke nodded and gave a little, "Yep."
"Have you and your family ever lived in like, a big city?"
"Oh yeah, plenty of times, why?" Duke questioned now.
Kyle turned away embarrassed, "I was wondering what city like was like." Oh my God he did sound like a total hick! "I was just curious how it is with all that stuff going on; let's face it Sweeton is a boring little town. What's it like in a place that never sleeps? Where you have to lock your doors and no one knows anyone who isn't family?" It sounded so lame when he actually said it, not that it sounded cool in his head, but still, he sounded like a little kid dreaming of the big city out of his window, his eyes glowing with neon lights in the distance and ears dying to be ringing with the sounds of car horns and music and people.
"You want to live in the city?" Duke asked curiously.
"Well I don't know if I'd want to live there, I've never been there. I was just curious. I'd definitely like to visit no question there...I feel stupid never mind."
"Hey hey don't feel stupid! The city has its charms but I was never a city boy. Too many people too close together, the air doesn't seem clean, the noise never gives you a sane moment of reprieve." He wore a toothy smile, "But it does have its charms, the shows the people the dancing the cultures. It's just not the place I'd like to set up home or raise a family; a nice visit would be fine."
Questions continued to form in Kyle's head without his meaning to even begin. Personal questions, city questions, questions for himself and why he was thinking about all this. "Do you ever want to settle down?" Kyle asked, "Like stop moving and just live in one place? You said raise some kids."
It was a fast answer, Duke shook his head, "God no, I'm so used to traveling I don't think I could stop! 'Professionals' say kids need stability, but so long as they have family...I mean I turned out okay right?" Duke asked but didn't wait for an answer, "I belong on the road moving place to place, seeing new things all the time and planning the next trip."
Kyle realized he was staring in misty eyed wonderment but he didn't care, it was fantastical to hear about some real life adventures, he wanted to hear more than just vague mentions, "So where exactly have you been?"
"That's a tale for another time dude, we're here."
Kyle looked ahead just in time for the truck to go off road and travel for a wooded area marked with a massive sign. It was a campground Kyle was familiar with at least by name, in truth he had only been there a handful of times when his dad was still alive so his memory was fuzzy. "What are we doing at 'Old Oaks?"
"Just relax and I'll show you."
Kyle always found it odd that the campground was way in the woods, that might sound strange but it was just laid out funny. To get to the actual grounds you drove through winding paths in woods that were treacherous in the daytime, but after the crazy winding it opened up again and you passed _every _cabin before you got to the main lodge and administration which was in the back of the grounds. Kyle just found it stupid to place the first thing you do in the very back.
But Duke wasn't heading there; after he skilfully passed the turns and entered the grounds he took the main road to the main lodge but turned off at a cabin, a group of people around a fire laughing.
"You said you wanted to meet my family right? We're camping out here tonight; the cabins are cheap this late in the season."
