An Average Day part 3
After telling him her name, Abby decided she could trust this human named Tom. She had already tested him by standing in front of him naked and he didn't try anything. Not that he would have succeeded had he tried, but it was nice to see he passed her little tests.
However, she couldn't tell him about them, she couldn't risk his life after he had done all this for her. She'd have to make up a story before he asked about it.
"So Abby, how did you end up in that bear trap?" asked Tom, breaking her line of thought.
Abby cursed mentally at the swiftness of Tom's thinking. She searched wildly around in her brain for an excuse that didn't sound completely ridiculous.
"Well, I was a slave until I managed to escape. After weeks of running I ended up in that forest where a few hunters were chasing me. They were the ones who lead me into that trap." She explained, hoping beyond hope that Tom would buy her story.
"I see. Well, I guess it's a good thing I bumped into you then."
"Phew, he bought it."
Suddenly the image of him with the bloodied sword when he found her pops into her head.
"I take it you are skilled with the sword?" she asked.
"Oh you mean my katana? Yeah I was taught how to use it back when I did Aikido, it's a form of martial arts but I only use it when I have no other choice." he replied.
"So when you killed that hunter..."
"He had a gun in my face, it was either that or getting my head blown off. I would have preferred not killing him."
"Hmm, so he is a swordsman who doesn't want to kill, interesting."
"And you live here by yourself?" she asked, looking around at the house.
"Yeah, I bought this place when my parents died in a car accident. T-boned by a drunk driver."
"Oh my...I'm sorry I asked." Abby said apologetically, suddenly feeling awkward.
Tom gave her a reassuring smile.
" Don't be, I learned to live with it and I owe you some answers after all"
"Strong, kind of heart, friendly and good-looking..."
"Say, do you have a mate?" asked Abby, thanking her fur for hiding her blushes.
"Nope, never looked for anyone, and so far nobody's ever asked." He replied, avoiding her gaze and looking instead at the clock behind her.
"AND available, this is almost too good to be true!"
They continued talking for about an hour. They told each other more about themselves, cracking the occasional joke. Eventually, Tom got up and took his car keys from the table.
"Well, I'm off to town. I need to refill the fridge and get you some decent clothes to wear. We can't have you walking around in that same shirt all the time."
He gave her a smile, which she returned before answering.
"You don't have to do that, I mean I can always..."
Tom interrupted her: "Don't try to argue with me, you need clothes and since you are my guest, I have to take care of you, which in this case means clothes."
"All right, what are you and how did you get on this planet!"
"In that case... I like the colors red and orange!" she said with a laugh.
Tom laughed in response. "All right, I'll keep it in mind."
"Do you have anymore of that meat you made me earlier?" she asked,
"Oh you mean bacon? You ate my whole stash of it so I'll have to go to the store if you want some more."
"You don't have to go through tha..." She interrupted herself as Tom raised his hand again. "Yeah yeah I know, I'm your guest and stuff."
"Exactly" Tom said with a smile on his face. Then he stood up and put his car keys in his pocket. "I'm going to get you some clothes and some more food since I'm going to be cooking for us both. I'll be back in a few hours, feel free to make yourself comfortable"
As Tom headed for the door Abby called his name, he turned around as she said "Thank you."
"No problem Abby, I was happy to help."
He turned around again and went outside, driving off to town to buy clothes and food for his new friend and guest.
*
Abby stood up and started to explore the house, still feeling a small sting in her leg with every step she took but ignoring it for the moment. She came to the living room and noticed the television. She knew what it was but she never got to use it. She found the remote and picked a random channel. It was about stocks and money.
"Lame."
She quickly changed the channel and got to a channel about wildlife, this episode was about how the lion society works where one lion has several lioness hunting for him and taking care of the cubs.
"Pfff, lazy ass lion. Females rule!"
Again she changed the channel and now she got a channel presented by an anthro bear who showed people how to survive in the wild with nothing else but a few tools. She just got to the part where he drank his own piss to stay hydrated.
"Eeeeww! Gross! Other channel! Other channel!"
She changed the channel and got to a science channel explaining human behavior and habits. She places the remote down and watched the show with great interest.
[TV voice] "As you can see from this chart, about ninety-five percent of the current human population have no problems with anthros, Sixty percent openly admits he/she has an anthro friend and a mere four percent have an anthro as mate. From those four percent, fifty four percent lives together or are married."
"Seems I'm a rare case then."
They remainder of the show was mostly other statistics or numbers until they switched to anatomy. Abby's ears perked up and the vixen's fluffy tail swung back and forth, rising in speed just like her heartbeat.
Abby grinned.
"Hmmm, now that's what I call educational! "
"The male reproductive organ is outside the entire time but in its soft state also known as flaccid. When aroused the body will pump blood in the organ making it harder and longer. Sizes can vary between a few inches and a foot long, longer or shorter reproductive organs could occur but are not common.
One foot?! Dear mother, that's big! I wonder how 'well built' Tom is.
"Unlike anthros humans do sweat when exposed to warmth and are more sensitive to cold due to the skin and no fur. Some humans that live or are married with anthros like them because of their fur."
Abby smiled to herself.
"Some humans like the fur hmm? I'll have to double-check that soon..."
The remainder of the show was not that very interesting for Abby and she decided to turn of the television. She lifted herself off the couch and went to lie on Tom's bed.
"Hmm... I just love his scent..."
Abby took in as much as possible from Tom's sent, loving the smell, which made her tail swing a bit more enthusiastically.
After lying on the bed for a full hour she got up and walked to the garden. It was in a poor state. The grass was overgrown, vines and creepers covered the walls so densely that it was difficult to see the red brickwork, and weeds were everywhere.
"This won't do, time to bring new life to this place."
Abby went to the shed. Noticing a lock, she ran back inside and found a handful of keys. Running back out to the shed, she tried them one by one until eventually she picked the right key. Opening the shed, she looked in on a dirty interior lit by a single amber light bulb hung with cobwebs. After searching around for a bit, she had found all the tools she needed, and also to her surprise some plants in pots.
"Guess Tom wanted to replant the garden but never got to it, oh well."
Tossing the gardening tools outside and carrying as much plants and fertilizer as possible Abby began to ponder over where to put which plant.
"Luckily I know all these plants. Tom has good taste!"
Abby pulled out the half dead plants and flowers and started to place the new plants and flowers so that they would each get the right amount of sun. After planting all the flowers and plants she added some fertilizer and gave the plants some water.
Finally done, she put all the tools back in the shed and locked it. She walked inside, grabbed a bottle of water to drink and looked up at the clock. She had been outside for several hours, much longer than she would have guessed. Looking at herself, she realized her hands and knees were caked in mud, which had already dried in the bright sunshine. Thankful that she had not accidentally got mud all over Tom's house, she headed to the bathroom, making sure to avoid touching anything too much. Washing off her legs took more time than she thought, as the dried mud had become stuck in her fur, and clogged it up when it became wet. She took off the shirt that Tom had leant her during this, and realized that she had been wearing no pants for the entire time.
Once done with the drying of her fur on her legs she heard a doorbell and went to the front door.
[Earlier that day]
Tom arrived in Town and parked his car at the nearest clothing store for anthros. Feeling a bit awkward he turned the door handle and went inside. He was greeted with rows and rows of clothing and some anthros, but no other humans.
As he began to walk further inside the store he felt the stare of more and more anthros burning on the back of his neck. Not willing to confirm this he walked to the clothes listed as 'feline'.
"I hope that I'm not in the wrong alley here..."
Tom inspected the cloths looking for red or orange clothes only to realize he has no idea what Abby's sizes are.
"Damn. Should have thought this through..."
Tom's attention was suddenly caught by a nice looking anthro bovine in store clothing standing next to him, saying the most used sentence in a store.
"Can I help you Sir?"
"Umm yes, I'm looking for some clothes for my fox friend but I have no idea what her sizes are."
"Is your friend male or female?"
"Female" Tom responded, feeling a little awkward by using that word.
"Well then you're lucky sir. Female foxes have almost the same sizes depending on height, how tall is your friend?"
Tom held his hand horizontal to his chin "About this high, do you have them in red or orange?"
The bovine gave him a smile.
"Yes we do, follow me please."
She led him to a row of orange and red clothes where she took a top and pants from a shelf in fiery red and dark orange.
"Those look good, you sure about sizes?"
The bovine smiled again.
"Yes sir and if the sizes don't fit anyway you can always return the clothes and get them in a different size free of charges."
"Oh, well that's nice. Could you give me a different tint of red for the top and one pair with the colors switched?"
"Wait here sir, I'll go look in storage."
The bovine walked away and Tom waited.
As he waited, he couldn't help noticing two humans in blue suits with sunglasses and earpieces talking to a male husky, who was also in a suit.
The bovine came back with a small pile of clothes snapping him out of his daze.
"Sorry for startling you sir, here are the clothes you wanted."
"Don't mind, I was looking at those two men talking with that Husky."
The bovine looked past Tom.
"Oh, I've seen them before, they are a big insurance company. I forgot the name but it's something with 'Swiftman'. And that husky is the owner of the store.
"I've never seen insurance people with suits and earpieces."
"Me neither sir but I guess they have their reasons."
Tom turned his attention to the pile of clothes the bovine was holding and took them from her.
"Well thanks for the help miss."
"No problem sir, have fun." was her response before she smiled and walked away to another customer.
"What did she mean with 'have fun'?" Oh well."
Tom walked to the cashier, which turned out to be a human male, he was as surprised as Tom was when they saw each other.
"Ah, seems I wasn't the only human here."
"Good day sir and yes, I'm surprised to see another human here too. All our customers have been anthros until now."
"Really? I didn't notice" Tom responded with a small laugh as the cashier began to scan the clothes.
"Ah, for a vixen I take it?"
"Yes, is it that obvious?"
"Well it's just that they like those colors a lot. That will be six hundred eighty five and ninety four cents please"
Tom used his credit card as the cashier started to bag the clothes.
"Here you go sir, have a nice day and thanks for shopping at 'Clothes Fur You'."
Tom picked up the bags right after returning a 'Have a nice day" as he walked to his car, loaded the bags into it, and drove off to buy food and drinks.
After spending more money on food (especially bacon) and drinks and having them loaded into his car he drove home and parked his car at the drive. Grabbing a packet of bacon, he went to the door and rang the doorbell, hoping Abby would hear him.
[Present]
Tom smiled as Abby opened the door taking over the pile of bacon.
"Thanks, you can place them on the kitchen table, I'll go get the other stuff I bought."
Abby walked back into the house as Tom walked back to his car taking out the clothes he bought as well. When he got back to the front door Abby was already there waiting to take the bags with clothes. As Tom passed her the bags she took a quick glance, noticed immediately what was in it and letting out a small happy yelp ran back inside.
As Tom got back to the front door with the remainder of the purchases Abby wasn't there. He walked inside places the groceries on the table and as he turned around she was standing in the fiery red top and dark orange pants showing it off. It seems to fir her perfectly.
"Wow... you look great in those" Tom said looking at the vixen with his mouth half open as her fluffy tail swung back and forth, rising in speed just like her heartbeat.
"Thanks! And thanks for the clothes, they are beautiful!" Abby said before running to Tom and hugging him rubbing her cheek against his chest.
Tom was taken by surprise by the hug and slowly returns it a little getting a small purr from her right before she pulled away.
"Oh! You have to see what I did in the backyard!" Abby grabbed Tom's arm and dragged him outside where he saw the new garden.
"Wow! Did you do all of this while I was away?" Tom asked, flabbergasted.
Abby nodded with a big smile on her face
"I must say, I'm impressed. I never was such a great gardener."
"Oh don't worry, I'll keep this garden alive, no trouble at all" Abby said, getting a laugh from Tom as they walked back in the house.
[Somewhere in the forest]
A man with a blue suit, sunglasses and an earpiece stood at the remains of the trap, still glowing a faint blue. Reaching for his earpiece, he activated it and spoke crisply.
"This is Walker 1355, target on the run. Trap 12 was activated but she got help from a third party. Location: 'Dire Woods'"
The man nodded at the response from the other side of the earpiece.
"Copy that, marking location for Handler team."
The man kneeled down and pulled out a small circular device. He laid it down on the ground, and activated it by entering a code.
He waited...
