Heartless Dragon part 8. Promises

After the tenth chapter, it will have a nw name but same story. Just got tired of using my name as the title.

Derek had been quicker to react and threw the sphere on the floor. The attacks came quickly but were quickly blocked by an invisible force-field that blocked Derek, Aurora and redirected the attack back at the two dragons. The two dragons didn't see it coming and were blasted hard against the wall by their own attacks.

The two slammed into the wall, making a large crater before they went down, immediately being knocked out. Meanwhile Derek and Aurora stood unharmed. The shield disappeared and the sphere remained a useless device.

Ivea was both shocked but happy that her son had remained unharmed. She was fearful along with Mayle that they attacked him.

Selic looked at amazement at Derek who stood in front of Aurora, ready to take a hit this time. Selic then looked at the two unconscious dragons who were clearly hit by their own attacks. He sighed and had a crossed face.

"Take those two away." He said pointing at the two knocked out dragons. "I'll deal with them when they wake up." Four body guards quickly came and took the two dragons away.

He then turned around and looked at the crowd.

"I would like to ask that each of you to return to your homes. I will deal with this issue." Everyone slowly began moving but remained there. "Now!" He said a bit loudly. Everyone slowly began clearing up. The twins however remained by their father and looked upon Derek.

Derek still remained guarding Aurora, even with Selic approaching them.

Selic knew, from the look of Derek's eyes that he would die protecting her. Selic just gave an apologetic look.

"I'm sorry for that... incident young Derek. I had not planned for that to happen."

Derek just remained guarded but relaxed.

"I know it is not your fault. I just wish they are as understanding as you."

Selic gave a small smile.

"I know that you mean well Derek. That you try to create shields and weapons to protect the country and us from forces like the Hellfires. I know that it is not your intention to cause panic here but you must remain vigil. I don't want us to end up fighting each other."

Derek gave a small nod.

"I have no wish to harm anyone. The shield was only temporary so I couldn't do anything else if they tried again."

Selic grew an amused smile.

"Speaking of which, how did you construct a device that complicated."

Derek gave a small smile.

"Sorry that is a secret however, if you need one or want some, you'll have to wait. That was a prototype and I was surprised that it worked right away."

Selic nodded and looked to the others. Mayle, Ivea and the children.

"I am sorry for the trouble Ivea. I hope that this incident along with your son... doesn't cause you any discomfort."

Ivea lowered her head and shook it.

"Not much but I'm just glad my son is safe."

Derek looked at his mother. He still wasn't sure about her yet but in time he would get back with it. He looked back at Aurora who was a bit worried but confused.

"What?" he asked.

She just shook her head. "Nothing, I'll tell you later."

He nodded before turning to Selic.

"We are leaving Selic. I wish to return home so the military doesn't come looking for me." Selic nodded.

"Very well, young Derek. I'll have my daughters escort you safely outside. Though I am glad you kept your mate safe. It would have been terrible to get you angry."

Derek blinked before responding.

"What makes you say that."

Selic gave a small frown.

"Come now Derek. I have known you for a long time. Your family was the first one to run and hide here. Your father was the first to bring the dome to life."

"Of course," said Derek, already aware that his father and Selic were the ones that told Shadeians all over to come here for shelter. Derek's father and Selic were practically friends.

"Well is it any surprise," said Selic. "That I know that you are a Black Heart?"

This caused a small surprise from everyone there, except the twins.

"It kind of is," said Derek, a bit unnerved by it.

Selic just gave a smile.

"Well don't worry, it is something only a few have and a rarity that is both beautiful yet dangerous. I'd keep your anger in check. Wouldn't want anything to happen to you and get you in trouble, don't we?" The last sentence seemed more of a warning the anything and from what Derek could in Selic's eyes, that he somehow knew of Derek's past. IF anything, Selic knew that it was Derek who had caused all this.

All Derek did was just nod.

Selic gave a small smile.

"Well I am sorry that you must leave Derek but I won't keep you. Please though, if you can and have time, work on that wonderful invention of yours. We could use something like that to help guard against any unwanted intruders."

Derek gave another nod.

"Again it was just a prototype but I'll first try to see how can I use that to keep first the U.S. (United Species) from getting hit then us."

Selic smiled.

"Of course. Well good luck Derek."

With that he left and the twins remained however and waited for Derek and Aurora. Derek only said 'Good bye' to Mayle and his younger siblings but didn't speak a word to his mother.

Ivea only watched as her son walked away from her. However as they left, she approached Selic.

"You've known that he was a Black Heart, yet you let him continue to come here."

Selic nodded. He stood by and crossed his arms and walked to the entrance of the cave. Ivea stood by him.

"Your mate had explained what happened and what caused this whole mess."

Ivea was a bit surprised that Draco told him about that.

"And you're not angered or fearing at my son?"

Selic turned to her.

"If anything, I fear that he will unleash his powers that may either get us out of hiding or make us go deeper into the earth." He sighed and placed his hand on her shoulder. "You have a wonderful son, Ivea. But we both know that we both may one day have to rid him of powers."

Ivea looked up at the tall leader and a small pang of fear entered her.

"How do you want to do that? Please don't say that you wish to kill him?"

Selic quickly nodded before she finished.

"No, never my kind. However, we must find away or method to rid of it. Again, it may become our ticket out or soon we have to develop powers for earth."

Ivea sighed.

"I wish we could do something."

Selic nodded before giving her a quick hug. She hugged him back. She rubbed her head against his chest before looking up at him.

He looked down at her.

"If we could...?" she asked.

He gave a small sad smile.

"I would but right now... our time together is getting short. I know you still love your mate and I don't want you to forget him so quickly. It's only been six months since his passing and he was one of my greatest friends and ally here. Cherish him as long as you can and make sure your heart lets you find love again."

She nodded and let him go. He walked away and opened his wings.

"I'll wait as long as I can for you..." she said.

He nodded and jumped off before taking flight.

Derek and Aurora were quickly escorted by the twins, who seemed a bit unnerved. They remained silent but often gave glares to the two of them.

When they left the volcano crater and were high over it, the twins only gave a dark glare to Aurora but a wink to Derek before the two flew back down to the volcano.

Aurora only looked at Derek who was a bit nervous.

"Um... I was their boyfriend for a small time... before I met you."

Aurora only gave a growl before flying down to the beach of the island. Derek followed but not as fast as she did. He knew that he would have to deal with this sooner or later.

As soon as they landed, Ashel was waiting for them by their cabin. She waved them and asked them how it went.

"We nearly got killed," was all Derek's response was. Aurora growled as he said that and Ashel only looked wide eyed.

"I'm... not surprised." She stated. This further annoyed Aurora however Derek only just sighed and shook his head.

"We are leaving right away Ashel. We are not welcomed here for the moment."

Ashel's eyes darted from Derek to Aurora then back at him before nodding her head.

"I'm sorry it didn't go as planned Derek. I hope that next time they will be more.... Forgiving."

Derek nodded. It was silent for a moment before Ashel reached up and wrapped her hands around Derek. Derek was surprised but nonetheless returned the hug.

Aurora just stood and watched. She was sure Derek still had some minor feelings for her but knew that he still loved her. She let it passed as they separated and looked at each other.

"I'll come back and try to visit soon."

Ashel only nodded before looking to Aurora and surpringly hugged her. Derek was stunned but not as much as Aurora. Ashel only hugged her and whispered.

"Please take care of him; he is the sweetest drake you'll meet." With that she separated.

Aurora looked at her with confused eyes. She only gave a nod and a small smile before turning away and heading back to her own place to live.

Derek and Aurora stood in place at the events of the whole day. Derek just let it go and turned to Aurora.

"Are you ready to leave?"

Aurora just nodded. They both opened their wings and with a single leap, they headed east back to Van Angeles.

The flight home was quite and none of them spoke to each other. The sun was slowly was falling and by the time the two reached Derek's home, the stars had shined and city lights bloomed.

At the door, Derek opened it to find a black dragon nude, his muzzle occupied with a snake's vent in his mouth and wrapped around his head and his shaft deeply inside of a raptoress who's mouth was connected with the snake, on top of his couch and the large TV on a porn channel, featuring a three some with the exact same species.

When the door opened, the threesome couple who were otherwise enjoying themselves, stopped all together and Derek and Aurora stood almost wide eyed and motionless.

Chase, Viper and Lash quickly looked up at the unexpected guests. Derek was beyond surprised and Aurora felt like laughing at the sight but because of events of today. She only shook her head in disappointment, and hid with her hand the hidden smile.

Lash was the first to speak, moving away Viper's lips from his mouth.

"He... Hey guys. Did... didn't know you two would be back so soon."

Derek just gave a small sigh and walked passed them to the stairs.

"There was a complication on our tickets," he said before walking up the stairs.

"Tickets?" questioned Viper as she slid off from her mates. "I thought you guys flew?"

Aurora sighed. "Sorry guys but something did happen." She rubbed the back of her head, a bit embarrassed of the situation in front of her. She shyly turned away. "Listen if you guys wish to crash here tonight, I don't think Derek would mind but I would just... try not to piss him off."

"What happened?" asked Chasey as everyone slowly began cleaning themselves and start putting their clothes back on.

"I'd rather not discuss this right now."

"Hey, it's cool," said Lash, putting on his pants. "If you guys have problems, we'll leave right after we clean this place up."

Aurora gave a smile. "Thanks." She then walked passed them and walked up the stairs.

At the top, she saw Derek's door opened. She slowly walked in and saw Derek sitting on the bed with his down. With a sigh, she spoke.

"Derek?" she began but he lifted a finger.

"Wait till they leave." He said softly.

She stopped and nodded, waiting by the door, with a glare.

About ten minutes later, they heard the gang say their 'goodbyes' before quickly leaving and shutting the door. Aurora sighed and walked in before closing the door.

Derek slowly looked up at Aurora. She casually approached the bed before sitting right next to him.

With a clear throat he spoke.

"What do you want to ask?"

Aurora first had the glare on her that Derek knew from before. First she slapped him across the muzzle, hard enough to leave a sting but not hard enough to throw him back. Derek sighed and slowly turned his head back before rubbing his muzzle.

"You knew that they were going to attack us." She stated harshly. "That is why you brought that blasted shield, didn't you?" The glare was now full flushed anger.

Derek who continued to rub his cheek only gave a small nod.

"And the lies you told me about the mates you had before? They were all there and you knew, yet you didn't mention it. Why?"

Derek looked down, not even going to look her in the eyes.

"I did that," he said softly. "All of it, to protect you. To keep you out of harm's way. I tried reasoning with you but you didn't leave me no choice."

Aurora wasn't convinced.

"Yet you still figured that the shield would protect me from your mates?" He gave a somewhat nod.

"Ashel may have not done much but the twins would have done something. Also, I figured my mother would do the same. She would have killed you because you might have told her the location of their hideout."

Now Aurora dropped her anger but kept her gaze. She slowly reached with her hand and lifted his head.

With a gentle tone, she asked.

"Do you have that much faith in me?"

The question surprised him.

"What do you mean? I have complete faith in you. I love you." Aurora shook her head and turned away. She didn't let Derek see her eyes begin to water.

"You have no faith in me Derek. You don't even care. Ever since you rescued at the Hellfire camp, you have avoided everything I have been trying to get you to do." Her voice was breaking.

Derek reached out but she shrugged it off.

"What do you mean 'get me to do'? What have you been trying to get me to do?"

"OH you know what I am saying!" she stated harshly. Her eyes now began streaming with tears. Derek shook his head, not understanding. Still with her head away, she could feel his nod.

"You avoided me when we first met. I read everything about you before I met you. I saw that you were needed, that you were struggling to fit in and that maybe I could help you fit in more. Then when I met you, you focused more on the project and less on me. After the attack, I discussed about being your mate, you acted out. Then I asked about hatchlings and you avoided it. Now we meet your home all of a sudden, we were attacked by them and you mates from the past!"

She broke heavily and began sobbing. Derek tried to help her but he knew that she was right. He did not have much faith in her nor much love. He had been trying to hard to protect her or worry about the war or the protection of his family. He hadn't felt much for Aurora since then.

At this point, he realized nothing would ever get her out of this except one thing. He had resisted Aurora for so long and now his heart told him to no longer fight it.

He slowly reached out for Aurora and slowly turned her towards him. She didn't shy away nor did she shrug it off. Instead she let him turn her around. He moved her hands away and saw her beautiful sky blue eyes. Nothing but sadness lied in there. But something hidden was and Derek saw it, like a door to her soul.

Without effort or hesitation, he brought her into a wonderful kiss. Aurora's eyes shot open but slowly closed as she leaned in close to the kiss. She gave herself in and soon, stopped her tears. She reached out and brought his head in deeper into the kiss. The kiss had been held deeply and it was almost a full minute before the two separated and gasped in deeply of from lack of air.

They both panted and looked at each other before they both quickly jumped into their embrace and crawled up the bed without breaking the kiss.

While they did they break the kiss, it was only to remove their clothes from each other. Not even to remove, their lusts for each other was great enough that they ripped off their clothes from each other. Their love was passionate but rough. However, it immediately stopped, by Derek.

Derek stopped as he was on top of Aurora's naked form. His eyes were locked onto hers. Aurora stared back at him, confused at his sudden stop. She already felt so in love with him and right now, he was just a thin peace of clothing away from reaching her eagerness.

A sudden flash of red and black ran into Derek's vision. A warning of him not to give into his lust, if he were to accidently release his inner Black Heart. He could see something bad happening right now, if he were to continue.

Derek sighed and slowly lowered himself onto her. He laid his head next to hers and sighed.

"I'm sorry, I can't."

Aurora was confused but she too sighed and slowly rubbed his head.

"It's okay, I know if your not ready to..."

"No I do." He said slowly lifting his head to meet her blue eyes. "I really do but I don't... think that it is right for me to do this.... Right now. I feel like I'm just giving in to my lust when I should be giving into love."

Aurora blinked.

"And... you don't feel... love for me?" It was more of a answer then a question.

Derek laid by he and brought her close to him so they were muzzle by muzzle.

"I love you Aurora, with all my heart but... from what you said right now, I am unfaithful or trustworthy of you yet. I wish to... do both and more for you but... I feel like I'm holding back because of that."

Much of what Derek had been saying was truth but the overall concept of not wanting to make love to her was because of the Black Heart influence and what it does to those who cannot control it. It pained him to lie and get out of making love to her, despite the urge to jump and mate her like if she were in 'heat'. He could feel, something, in the back of his mind wanting to be let out. It wanted to be released and to ravage the female underneath him.

Derek held back and told the lie, to protect Aurora.

Aurora, somewhat known of the Black Heart, forgot much about it and how it affected Derek in this way. Oblivious to truly why Derek stopped, she gave a sigh and a small nod.

"Okay Derek... I see. But will you promise me something?"

Derek gazed into the deep eyes of his mate and looked into her soul.

"What?"

Aurora shook her head.

"Promise me first." Derek blinked and nodded.

"I promise."

She looked back into his red eyes.

"When the time comes, will you promise to make love to me. Not just random mating's, but real love. Love that I know that you would give to me and won't stop making love to me till you filled me with your seed, nothing holding you back and will carry your hatchlings?"

Derek blinked and knew that if he were to go down this path, that he would be putting Aurora in danger. Not only her, but if the mating was successful, but putting their future hatchlings at risk. He hadn't put his mates in risk before because he only went as far as touching their bodies or pleasuring them single handedly.

Here Aurora was asking to let him take her and make sure to fill her with his see and love and not to hold back. The decision was difficult but if broke her heart, he would never find another like her.

"I promise." The words left him and he didn't register it. His mind was screaming at him, telling him why he didn't say 'no'. Then he felt the other part touch him and he instantly knew why.

Aurora smiled and tears fell from her eyes and she reached over and hugged and kissed her mate. Derek pushed into the kiss without any resistance from his body. But his mind felt heavy and fear as he could feel the Black Heart touching and running his hands all over Aurora. He could feel the safeness and vulnerability that she was letting Derek have. He rubbed her shoulder with his right hand while the other trailed down to find the spot in between her legs, slowly reaching in her panties and his fingers finding their mark.

All the while Derek's mind seemed lost and lust toke over.
