Adventures in College: Chapter One
#2 of Adventures In College
Hey everyone, so I'm back again with a new chapter(: Sorry for the wait everyone, school and work has been getting pretty hectic and I've been trying to figure out where to take this next update but I think maybe I know now hehe^^ I'm going to be combining the intro and this chapter so new readers don't get confused or forget about what happened in it.
*Disclaimer* Trey, Craig and all other characters belong to me and me solely; they will not be used in anything without my consent. This story does have some male on male themes and if that makes you uncomfortable, leave now. Thanks and enjoy the story; again feedback is greatly appreciated being that I am still trying to perfect my skills.
Characters Craig Thompson: 18 year-old husky/wolf hybrid, he comes from a Christian family but doesn't believe it himself. Generally quiet but he opens up to people given some time. Trey Stevens: 19 year old German shepherd, his family background isn't talked about much but he's been on his own since he was 17. He's very outgoing and loud but also friendly and intelligent.
"Get up, get up! Sing it like you're screaming at me...." I reached over and slammed my paw down on the snooze button for my iHome. I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes, grabbing my iPhone to check my alerts; today was THE day. I was starting college and couldn't believe it already happened, the summer had gone by so fast and it seemed like just yesterday was my high school graduation; I hated that school and that day was the best day of my life besides starting college, I couldn't wait to get away from there and now I had my chance.
I climbed out of my bed and yawned loudly before standing up; making sure to grab my glasses before going anywhere away from my bed. I walked into the bathroom to put in my contacts and looked myself over in the mirror; my fur was a little messy so I figured I'd have to shower for sure. I'm a husky/wolf hybrid that's about 5'11, I'm 180 pounds but most of it is lean muscle because while I do enjoy sports I like running and soccor keep myself toned. I'm a typical husky with white and grey fur but I'm more slender because of the wolf in me; I have the typical ice blue eyes and to be honest I think they are my best feature. I threw off my athletic shorts and stood in my boxers for a minute to get the water ready, by the time I finished releasing myself the water was plenty warm. I love taking hot showers, if the mirror is completely covered I know I've done well.
By the time I finished enjoying my shower it was about six thirty so I knew I had to hurry to make my first class at seven. I ran into my room, drying my fur as fast as I could but still fairly damp, and picked out what I was going to wear to make my first impressions good ones. I grabbed my favorite pair of skinny jeans that I got in the girls section of Zumiez a year earlier, my black To Write Love On Her Arms V-Neck and my favorite pullover, a grey lightweight one that is slim so I can show off my lean frame and my black Vans. I made sure to put on the necklace my best friend made for me out a gutiar pick as well as the rasta braclet my other bestie made for me for my 18th birthday. I left and went into the kitchen to grab my fresh made coffee and keys and I was out the door by six forty, looking in the mirror as I passed making sure my headfur was messy but looked planned, just how I like it.
I walked over to my pride and joy, admiring all the work I had put into it. It was a 1998 Subaru Impreza coupe that I swapped a 2004 STI powerplant into and had painted it just Like I imagined it, neon green with a white spoiler and white rims. The last finishing touch was a bright purple Subaru emblem I just put on a few days before. I slipped inside the leather seat and started her up before easing out of my driveway and onto the avenue. I wasn't in too big of a rush until I got onto the freeway, as soon as I hit the onramp I popped the clutch, dropping it from fourth to third and grined widely as the turbo spooled and the tires lit up. Within six seconds I was doing 85 and only had ten miles to go, I would be on time for art no doubt. I sat back in my seat and relaxed a bit, enjoying the coffee I brought with me. I got into the left lane and got off the freeway, about four blocks from the campus. I pulled into the lot and parked in the closest spot I could find, about three rows from the school entrance. The deep exhaust rumble and bass from my subwoofers made sure I was noticed and my green paint made me impossible to ignore. I put it into neutral and grabbed my bag and thermos and started walking towards the school, smiling from the attention the car was getting me.

"I like my beats fast and my bass down low, bass down low...." I love this song I thought as I looked up and saw where the deep bass was coming from; a bright green Subaru. 'Spoiled brat, daddy probably bought it for him' I growled to myself until I saw him step out. He had a slim frame but he wasn't scrawny by any means, and he did have a great sense of style but those eyes were what caught me. He pulled off his white sunglasses and I saw the most goregous ice blue eyes I've ever witnessed. I quickly looked back down at my iPhone as he passed so he didn't see me stare. 'God, Did I just say his eyes, were gorgeous?? I'm not gay so why would I say that' I thought as I turned to walk into the building.

I reached down to grab my phone to see the school map. "Let's see; Intro To Art, Room 305" I mumbled to myself and turned to climb the stairs. 'Hmm this coffee is almost gone, I hate coffee breath' I reached into my pocket, fumbling to find the package of gum I knew I had, dammit I think it fell out when I went to grab my pants this morning. I turned around quickly to run back to the vending machine I saw in the entrance to grab a pack of gum and ran into the German Shepherd directly behind me. "Shit!" I yelled as I fell down, knocking my phone and mug out of my paws. "Aw god I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going" He stammered as he bent down to pick up my phone and help me up. He was pretty cute, about 6'1 and looked to be about 210 pounds of muscle. He had the usual shepherd coloring but he had the most intense green eyes of any dog I've ever encountered before. "Don't worry about it, it was my fault. Sorry for making you late" I said quietly and offered him my paw for a shake "My name is Craig" "It's not your fault entirely, I should have been watching where I was going" He said warmly, chuckling a bit to himself "I'm Trey by the way. It was nice to meet you but I've gotta go before I'm late. See you around Craig" He said with a smile and a wave and continued up the staircase. 'Well he seemed nice enough and he is fairly good looking, maybe he's in some of my classes' I thought to myself, wagging my tail a bit as I grabbed the gum from the opening and ran back to the staircase; I was only about two minutes late so hopefully I won't be noticed by the professor. I walked into the classroom, closing the door as quietly as I could in hopes that I wouldn't be noticed; "Mr. Thompson, how nice of you to join us; please take a seat and let's get started." The small professor said warmly. She was a small mouse, about 5'1 but she knew how to take control of the class.; she looked to be in her late 40's so she probably had the experience needed. I quickly scanned the room and was pleasantly surprised when I saw Trey about two rows in front of me, seated at a table with one seat open on his right. I moved over as delicately as I could and pulled out the seat, smiling over at him as I sat down.
***********************************
I looked up from my blank sketchpad and saw Craig smiling at me, those brilliant blue eyes catching my attention again. 'God, why do I keep staring at him? I'm not a fag!! I need to just drop it, why can't I?' I screamed in my head. "Trey?" Craig started to look annoyed and snapped his fingers, bringing me back from my internal arguing. "I asked do you mind if I sit here?" I quickly shook my head and smiled back up at him "No, not at all!" He gingerly took his seat and pulled out his sketchbook and pen, looking forward to focus his attention on the professor ahead. 'How is this happening? I can't be attracted to another guy, not after that.....' I thought as I looked over at the stunning wusky beside me.
***************************************************
I looked over and caught Trey's eyes staring at me and smiled, watching him blush and fold his ears back before looking ahead at the professor. 'Was he checking me out? No, he couldn't have been; he's got to be straight. I mean why would he even want to be with anyone like me? That is, even if he is gay' I mumbled quietly to myself. I shook the thoughts out of my head and tried to pay attention to the lesson, we weren't even doing anything. She was just rambling on about her life story and boring the class and myself to death. Trey looked over again and rolled his eyes, I couldn't help but chuckle a bit at his casual attitude. "Care to share with us, Mr. Thompson?" The professor, Mrs. Brown, called out at me. "U-u-uh no, sorry for interrupting" I stammered, folding my ears and tucking my tail the best I could. Trey gently nudged me and looked ashamed "Sorry for getting you in trouble man, I didn't think she would hear you" I looked up and smiled a bit "Don't worry about it, it was my fault anyway heh" I said quietly.
The rest of class seemed to go by quickly and we actually got an assignment, draw what interests you the most or what you care about the most. When Mrs. Brown excused the class, I grabbed my things and started loading them into my bag when Trey's paw came out of nowhere to rest on my wrist. "Hey, what does that say?" I looked down and saw the small wristband I forgot about "Oh, it's the To Write Love On Her Arms movement. Have you heard of it?" I looked over at Trey while he continued to put on his bag. "No, I haven't but do you want to go grab a drink and you can tell me about it? I feel like I owe you something seeing that I made you late to class and got you in trouble" He said sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Sure, but you really don't owe me anything. I just have bad luck ha" I finally put on my bag and started walking with Trey towards the food court
We found a table near the back of the café/food court and sat down, across from each other. "Hey what do you like to drink, Craig?" I thought about it for a minute, scratching my head. "Just get me whatever you're having" I said quickly, giving Trey a nervous smile "Heh, alright I'll be back in a few" He left with a flick of the paw towards the drink area. "I wonder why he's being so nice to someone as plain as me? Oh well at least he's being friendly and God knows I could use some friends." I didn't realize I was talking out loud until the cougar at the table across from mine gave a small chuckle and a friendly wave. "Talking to yourself huh? That's alright I do it from time to time as well." He stood up and walked over to me, offering his paw for a shake. "Name's Byron, what's yours" I nervously held out my paw and spoke quietly "Um.. Craig heh" Byron beamed me a warm smile and nodded "Well it's nice to meet you Craig, here's my number in case you wanted to do something as friends sometimes" He slipped me the scrap of paper that he scribbled his number on and flashed me another smile "Of course, see you around Byron" I spoke with more confidence as he returned to his seat. I made my way back to the table and saw Trey returning with two drinks in his paws. "Who was that you were talking to bud?" I looked up and grabbed the drinks from his paws, setting them on the table. " Oh just a friend that wanted to do something" I spoke quietly and laughed a little "Is this coffee?" I asked, grabbing one of the cups. "Yeah, it's French roast heh my favorite." He beamed and pulled his cup closer to him, smiling to himself as he took in the sweet aroma and a small sip. I lifted my own cup and took a small sip, unsure if the quality would be up to par; I was shocked when the liquid hit my taste buds, it was one of the best brews I had ever tasted and that was really saying something considering how picky I am. I murred deeply as I let the warmth run down the back of my throat. Trey looked up and grinned, chuckling a bit. "That good huh?" I nodded and smiled softly "Yeah, this is one of the best brews I've tasted before" I beamed and set my cup down. "This café has the best beans in town, they grind them themselves too"
*******************************
I set down my cup and looked up at Craig, intertwining my fingers and smiling a bit. "Alright, well I didn't invite you just for a drink. Tell me a little about yourself" He nodded and took in another sip before starting. "Well, what would you like to know" He shot me a coy smile and locked his fingers, placing his chin on top of them 'Damn, he looks so cute like that.' I thought before I widened my eyes and shook my head a bit "Just tell me anything you want to, dude" I said coolly, trying to disguise the fact I was ogling him. "Hmmm well I've lived here in Anaheim for the last six years, I moved from Colorado Springs with my mom. My dad and her were divorced around the time I was ten and I lived with her because I hate my dad. He's always been so controlling over my life and trying to plan it out to make it what he wanted." Craig stopped to take another drink before continuing "I've got two younger siblings, a sister who's 15 and a brother that's 10. They get on my nerves sometimes but I still love them a lot. Well I live on my own have since I turned 18, just a little one bedroom apartment. Ummm I love to draw, hence why I'm in art and I kind of write too..." He looked down and folded his ears, obviously embarrassed. I laughed a little to try and lighten the mood "Well you sound like you're a pretty easy going guy who knows what he wants. There is one thing you didn't mention though, where in God's name did you buy that car, I mean it's damn near impossible to miss." His ears perked and his eyes widened, while trying to hide his wagging tail rather unsuccessfully "Heh well I actually built it, it was a gift from my grandpa on my mother's side. It was pretty bad when he gave it to me when I was 15." He pulled out his iPhone and showed me a picture; a red Subaru Impreza that was completely gutted. "it was his wife's until some teenagers stole it and took everything they could. Insurance got her a new one and he gave the old one to me as a surprise" I was shocked, here I was thinking he was a spoiled rotten punk, meanwhile he worked his ass off and had one hell of a prize to show for it "That's amazing! I never would have pictured you as a car enthusiast!"
Craig looked up at me and had a smirk on his muzzle "Well I can tell you're impressed big guy, might want to close your mouth before it gets stuck" I chuckled nervously and took another sip "Well since you told me about you I might as well let you know who I am. I've lived here for about a year, I moved from Ohio when I was 17, long story short my "parents" kicked me out." I spat and subconsciously clenched my fist "I'm the only child, which I hate. Whenever I did something wrong there was nobody else to distract them from me. But I'm just happy I'm out of their house, although I do miss some family back in Ohio. My grandparents on my dad's side took me in for the time I was kicked out until I moved out here. I still call them weekly and love every second I get to hear their voices, if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have been able to get into college or live where I am" Craig cocked his head and smiled a bit "Wow, someone's had a difficult upbringing. Even though I don't like your parents already I've gotta hand it to them, they did make one good thing and that's the wonderful son I can see in front of me." I looked up and blushed, tucking my tail from embarrassment " Do you really mean that? I mean you've only known me a day.." He reached out his paw and in a friendly gesture rested it upon mine "I really do, I mean you didn't have to buy me a drink or even talk to me and yet you did and I'm glad I've made a friend already" He chuckled and winked "That and if anyone tries to kick my ass you'll be able to take them easily" I grinned and nodded "Well I probably could, football has paid off I'd say" Craig handed me his phone and nodded his head "Well it was nice to actually meet you Trey, put your number in there and I expect to something again soon. I usually have a lot of free time and wouldn't mind going out with a friend" I smiled and quickly entered my number, smiling as I did so "Same here Craig, it was really nice to put a personality behind the face. The same goes for you, don't be afraid to get ahold of me whenever you want" He nodded and got up, checking the time "Well I've got to head off to work. Thanks again for the drink and I'll see you around" He shot me that award winning smile and flicked his paw as he left out the doors.

'Jeez, he really is something. I hope that we do go out again, I mean I'd love to see more of him but I can't help but think that maybe something's wrong with me. I can't be gay, that's what brought me all this trouble in the first place...but I'm on my own now, I can make my own decisions and I don't have to introduce him to anyone. I don't have a reputation to hurt here...God, why can't I just make up my fucking mind and decide for once' I grumbled to myself as I headed out towards my car, a 1986 Toyota AE86. I sighed as I started up the engine and waited for the carburetor to start pumping fuel to the engine "Why the hell have I not put a fuel injection system in you yet?" I growled as I eased on the accelerator. Finally the small 4 cylinder to sputter to life and revved high as the fuel was transferred. I eased out of the parking lot and headed towards home.
***************************************************************
I smiled as I pulled my keys out of my pocket, hitting the unlock button as I made my way towards the Impreza. "That was a pleasant surprise, although I still feel like he's holding something back. I mean why would his parents kick him out? He seems like the perfect son; smart, athletic, good looking and polite. Oh well, I guess I'll ask him some other time or when he feel s comfortable telling me. God, I hope tonight goes well, people haven't been tipping worth a shit lately" I muttered as I pushed the clutch in and let the boxer engine roar to life; I looked over at the digital clock on the stereo, 1:45. Alright I still have fifteen minutes to get there. I slipped it into reverse and left the lot and was onto the freeway towards the Chili's I worked at. Humming along to the music and letting the day stay fresh in my mind I pulled up to the building, still smiling as I walked inside.
"Jeez someone's awfully happy to be coming to work" Miranda groaned as I walked through the doors. "Would you prefer me to go back out and return as Miss Bitch? Because I can arrange for that" I sneered and shot her a smirk, trying to hide the smile "Umm I think I'd rather take happy happy Craig thank you very much" She laughed a bit and playfully punched my arm "Alright shithead, tell me why you're so cheerful" I laughed at bit at her term of endearment and stuck my tongue out "Well I met a very sexy shepherd today that I am going to try and push my luck with and see if I can get any action because this wusky needs a big, throbbing cock in me!" I grinned and laughed "God, even gay guys are still guys! I can't say I blame you though, heh I wouldn't mind it myself" She laughed and playfully nudged me. I loved being able to joke with her, even though she was a cougar we still got along great because we could joke with each other like this all day and not be one bit uncomfortable. Honestly if I was straight, I would be mackin' on her like no other; she had a beautiful black coat that was sleek and soft, deep emerald green eyes that you could lose yourself in, a slim hourglass frame with a nice C/D cup bust and a killer personality and sense of humor but I had my sights set on a hunky Shepherd that was so kind to me today.
The rest of the shift went by fairly well, customers were generally nice and tolerable and the tips were as good as I could expect and I had Miranda to keep my mood up when it was slow and I wasn't waiting tables. As soon as 9 O'clock rolled around, I changed as fast as I could and wished Miranda a good night as I headed out towards my car and then home. I pulled onto the street and went two blocks before my phone rang. 'Hmmm I wonder who that could be this late' I grabbed it out of the center console and widened my eyes "Hello?" I inquired "Hey Craig, I have a really big problem..."

Thanks for reading guys! Sorry about the long wait but some crazy shit went down that I'll post a journal explaining. Let me know what you think, this is my first real piece I posted and I want to know how the formatting looks as well as length and everything else.
