Chapter Five
Meanwhile, the night had came by at an alarming rate; the weather grew quiet and silent; only a soft rustling from the trees as wind blew through the green leaves; few lights lit the night; torches lit aflame in the center of a large circle of tents made from sticks and leaves.
The human village was very silent, it was to silent even during at night; for sounds of slumber; people moving around in tents; or even someone wandering as a night watch. It was unnaturally quiet; like coming from a loud party into a quiet room where no one talked... it was an awkward silence.
"Did anyone find the documents?" said a short male Soparla; he was a glistening dark blue, with yellow dandelion eyes and long snow light hair which was wrapped into a ponytail; which he dandled in front himself. He wore black pants and a green vest; open and exposed his stomach and chest.
He came out from a tent with blood on his hands, taking a cloth from his pants pocket he wiped his hands clean and dropped the cloth on the ground as many individuals from the rest of the tents, all wearing dark garbs like that of what Ninja's wore; but had armor plating upon the arms, legs and shoulders; they all came out with blood on them, with weapons covered in the blood.
"Yes sire;" a male voiced individual gave the Soparla torn pages from what appeared belonged in a book; they too were covered in blood. He took one look at the pages, and hung his head nodding. "Number 445... come here now..." he said quietly and under his breath.
Once 445 approached, he was punched with a loud clack from a closed fist; knocking him to the floor. The Soparla then hovered over 445 like a cloud, standing atop him. The rest of the individuals turned their heads and looked away.
"You need to be cleaner dammit! How am I supposed to read these personnel files when there is blood all over them!?" with a kick to the stomach of 445, he gagged and coughed holding his stomach.
"Lord Jeromy! I am sorry... I will be cleaner next time! Please! Have mercy..." He was struck again and again; the mask was then removed off to show a female face; who now had a black eye. "And remove your damn voice changer!" as he turned and stormed away from 445.
He sat down on a log next to a tent; and looked at the papers. "Your lucky 445!! I can still read the papers!!!" He then took out a cell-phone from his pocket and slid it open; hit a few buttons on it and held it to the side of his head. "Yes; we have the documents... when will the tractor beams be ready to engage?"
"Yes sir... I will wait, and send her the message personally" He closed the phone and put it back into his pocket. "Alright everyone, get into your hiding places; scanners from home have detected a life-form approaching in from the west..."
Natasha, who was now walking on the ground; was pleased to know as she continued closer and closer to the beacon; the woods got thinner and thinner; she wore night-vision goggles on her head; for the night was pitch black... so much without them she would not even see her own hands in front of her face.
"Mission Update" a vibration text message came into her GPS. "Go ahead" she responded stopping her movement to speak into the device. It entered the text from her voice.
"Something is not right, when we scanned before your drop, there were 40 life forms around the beacon, now there is only 20... And the life forms have gone nowhere else. Keep that gun ready" Pictures of the scan and white dots showed how much the numbers decreased. "Received"
Natasha crouched down low and put the rifle to her shoulder and walked at the ready; she glanced at the GPS and was only 500 feet from the beacon, she could see a small flaring light through the green of her goggles; it was the torch from the village.
Outside the village now; she removed the goggles and approached carefully to the center of the village. "Its to quiet..." she stopped an and looked all the way around her and saw nothing, and approached one of the tents and folded back its leaves.
"Oh my god..." Inside one of the tents was a male human body, the inside leaves were sprayed with blood droplets, a fine slit was around the side of the neck, the face spoke nothing...was silenced in its sleep. "A cut right on the artery... a very small incision; the pressure made it squirt everywhere" She then saw a large blank syringe; laying next to the corpse. "A sedative?"
She entered inside more and looked around; the covers folded behind her. She heard a soft beeping from under the covers. "It's the beacon... must have activated on accident by sleeping on it" turning around she stepped on something metallic, covered by loose leaves she lifted the object; its was a binder and instantly knew what it was.
"These are personnel files! What are these cave-people doing with this kind of thing?" She opened the binder, and found that the pages were messy and hard to read now from blood that had soaked into it and realized that there were pages missing, like a book there are page numbers. And this binder skipped 16 pages. "Why did they takes pages from a personnel file?" She looked into it more and found out a name "Alex" from the alphabetic order she then dropped the binder and held up her gun. "Alex Wilhelm, it has to be!"
From the shock, she went into a near panic, she held up the GPS to inform Luxa. "Captain, you won't believe what I... Ugh!" Her setnace was cut short by 2 pairs of hands coming in from the wall of the tent and grabbing her; her neck was pulled backward and another pair grabbing her hands and pulling them back; her rifle fell to the floor and she gritted her teeth she was yanked through the tent with a loud crash and tossed to the floor; rolling to her feet she hit the nearest individual with a hard elbow strike to the head and knew instantly who they were. "Clocks..."
She saw then how many there were. She screamed "Bring it ON!!!!!!!" and picked up a large branch. The fight was over not even 15 seconds after it began; she stuck two clocks with the branch breaking it in half, a clock came from behind her and grabbed her stomach and lifted her from the ground and dropping her with a suplex slam.
She was quickly swarmed by the clocks with punches and kicks, she bit; punched and attacked in anyway she could; she was getting pulverized; she could feel everything in her body ach and hurt as blunt force was applied to her, she continued fighting and fighting harder until she felt herself restrained by the multiple hands and feet.
"GET OFF MEEE!!!!!" She screamed in a violnt rage, her nose was already bleeding; her face welted with a large bruise.
"You are going to pay the price!?" shouted a clock who mounted her lap and pulled her face toward and gave a solid elbow that made Natasha 'see stars' and a flash of white from the left side of her eye followed by a loud ringing in her head, and was struck the same way two more times.
The world seemed to have slowed down and she could hear herself think clearly. It was all happening so fast, she did not know what to do next... "Is this it? Is this how I am going to die? A simple investigation, gone crazy, I still have much to achieve, a mate to obtain; a child to make, life to still perform and live, this is not the end. Not for me, not now; but if I have to give these pricks my life; I will give them hell before I do I will free myself; and I will kill them all... I just need my rifle" all in the while a clock had pulled her up by her shirt; and elbowed her face; picked her up again and repeated it as others held down her arms and legs. Her face bludgeoned into a large purple and bloody mess, her fangs were broken out; her left eye was swollen and black; her right eye was black also. The beat down suddenly ceased; they all spread out as a blue figure approached her, she could not see anything but stars and red from the blood seeping into her eyes.
Being pulled up from the ground by a dark blue hand; she was bloody; bruised and injured in the 10 seconds she was in the mob. "You are getting to nosey, you did not see anything here, if you say anything? The next time we will kill you... stay out of the way of the Clocks; otherwise your time real really be up" she was tossed back to the floor and beaten to the point of senselessness.
Jeromy wanted to cry, for he did this to who was his sister. he was grateful she could not see him, she was left on the planet alone bloody and defenseless. "Sorry sis, you and Luxa are getting in our way to much, it all has to end... this is your only warning; next time I will kill you" Jeromy and Natasha were adults with different views, she went into the military to protect and serve the planet at the time, he joined a mob faction to control and instill fear... they were still family; and found themselves protecting each other more then once. She was now a galaxy defender, and he was now a leader within the Clocks...
She awoke the next day blind, her eyes swollen shut; she spit out several fangs and teeth from her mouth as she gagged and groaned rolling over onto her chest. "Oh my god!" She screamed in pain, she could feel nothing from the waist down; her arms screamed agony. She could only feel the pain and the wetness of fresh blood slowly seeping from her head down her neck onto the ground.
She was completely off guard, caught so quickly and beaten so harshly... she under-estimated the clocks, and knew it had to be a trap. They tripped that beacon and made it look as if an accident. She knew now that they were getting more powerful. But why did they want those documents so badly? She dragged herself upon the earth coughing from the dirt.
"My GPS..." She remembered, rolling over on her back, crying blood tears, she felt for the red distress button, pressed it and whispered. "I need help...they, they got me Luxa. They got me real good... please; help me..." She found herself beginning to fade away, and she grew fearful from it, was she about to die? Did they actually win? Would she be able to obtain her life's desires and live it? These were all questions she asked herself as she felt herself slip deeper and deeper into feeling nothing at all.
