#17 of Tora

Here's the next chapter. I actually finished it like a week and a half ago, but I never got around to editing it. I've just been chillin' with my sister, niece, and nephew for a couple weeks and we had a blast last week. It was so freakin awesome, I want to do it again. Anyway, about halfway through writting this, I noticed that I messed up in the last chapter. By that, I mean that I didn't give Chris any pokeballs to catch pokemon with in the beginning. I'll leave it unchanged for today just so you can see it. I was like "Oh, wow! I can't believe I did that. lol!" I gave him some in this one though. That aside, I want to say enjoy your read. Remember, comments and votes are welcome and appreciated.

**********8**********

The battle between Lani and Jari started off with a stare down, both of them gauging their opponent, knowing this was a serious battle now and waiting for an opportune moment to strike. The rest of the pokémon and the two trainers looked on from the sidelines. It seemed like forever for either of the battlers to make a move, but the first to attack was Jari. He ran up to Lani with his bone held in front of him. Lani leaped into battle with her twister attack. She was much faster than the brown dinosaur and her attack struck first. Jari braced himself the best he could as the miniature tornado swept him off his feet and tossed him aside. He managed to land upright and went in for another attack. Lani turned around for a second twister attack. The cubone saw it coming and expertly threw his bone at her. Not worrying about his attack, the dragon kept her charge, but once it came within range of her attack, she was caught by surprise as it kept going and hit her right in the face. She screamed in pain as she fell and skidded on the ground.

Everyone gasped at the result, except for Aaron, who knew exactly what happened. It was actually a simple, yet brilliant move on Jari's part. Just like a regular tornado, the center, or the 'eye', of Lani's twister is the calmest, but is also the place with the most rotation. The already spinning bone gained even more speed and power thanks to the rotation speed of her attack. He thought it sounded good in theory, but, then again, he guessed that Jari could've just gotten lucky and found a weak point in her attack. Lani got up and shook off the dizziness she felt from the blow. She found the cubone standing confidently over to her right with his weapon held defensively in his paws. If she didn't know better, she could've sworn that he was smiling.

"Lucky shot," she grunted. "Let's see you try this on." Lani used Extreme speed and vanished. Jari kept his guard up, constantly looking around for any sign of the dragon. He was suddenly hit from behind and fell forward on the ground. As he tried to get up, Lani smacked him across his side with her Aqua Tail. He grunted in pained as he rolled across the ground. He came to a stop about ten yards away from where he was hit. "You give up yet? I thought you'd be tougher than this," Lani taunted. The cubone knew he had taken some major damage, but he wasn't going to quit.

"Hell no!" he shouted back. "A warrior as great as I am never surrenders to those lesser than himself!"

"Wow," Chris said, impressed by the cubone's determination. "That little guy's really something to take a hit like that and still talk big." Jari shakily got up, using his bone as a temporary crutch. Once he was fully upright, he took a moment to catch his breath. He dashed forward with his weapon held out his right side. Lani covered her tail in a swirling stream of water and attacked as well. The two clashed in a battle of power, Jari's bone vs. Lani's tail. Even though there was water splashing Jari, it wasn't enough to really hurt him. Lani put most of her strength into the attack, hoping to overpower the cubone and put an end to the fight. Jari put all his strength into his swing, but the water was causing him to lose grip on his weapon. His weapon flew out his paw and he made the costly mistake of looking where his weapon went. Lani spun around as soon as she disarmed him and delivered another Aqua tail to his face. The brown Dino was sent rolling across the ground.

Lani took a moment to catch her breath before, along with everyone else, checking on the cubone. Jari lay on his belly, out of breath and energy. He tried to get up, but couldn't find the energy to do so. He couldn't believe he just lost like that after all that boasting he did. He watched as the pokémon started to crowd around him. "So this is how my greatness will come to an end; being ganged up on by lesser beings?" he asked out loud to no one in particular. I always thought I would die at least fighting Arceus to the death."

"Dude, what the hell are you talking about?" Fang asked. "We're not gonna kill you."

"Speak for yourself! The bastard scared April silly!" Kishan shouted. Fang looked over to see the pink sheep hiding inside one of the tents. He knew it was her because the ball on the end of her tail kept flashing. "As if she wasn't timid enough already, you jerk."

"You don't plan to kill me?" Jari asked.

"I want to, but I don't think killing you will get April out of that tent," Kishan replied as he turned to go console the sheep.

"I still want to hit you for calling me fat earlier," Tora said with her arms crossed. Chris came up behind her and pats her on the head.

"Calm down, Tora," he said. "No need to kick him while he's down. Here's your bone back, Jari." Chris handed the cubone his weapon back. "I can't say I wasn't impressed with you."

"Ya damn right, you were impressed!" Jari miraculously jumped to his feet and distanced himself away from the group, surprising everyone. "How could you not be when I'm the greatest?"

"But you just lost a fight to me," Lani pointed out.

"Even the greatest of the great have their off-days and I'm no exception."

"You should probably sit down and take it easy," Aaron said.

"Okay, pinky, why should I listen to you?"

"I can tell that your body is screaming in pain," Aaron replied, ignoring the insult. "The fact that you got up at all and distanced yourself from us is an amazing feat. You most likely won't even be able to lift your arms up if you were to sit back down again, am I right?" Everyone starred at Jari, half hoping that Aaron was right and the he would do a face-plant on the ground. Alice was the only one left out of the loop since Aaron was playing it safe by talking in normal pokéspeech around her. Jari, of course, was too stubborn to admit that Aaron's accusation was true.

"Whatever, you don't know what you're talking about. I feel just fine."

"Do you really? You actually look kind of stiff from that beating you took," someone said. Coming out the cover of the trees, a large blue beetle swooped in and landed next to the cubone. Jari didn't seem too thrilled with the sudden appearance of the heracross.

"If you had time to watch, then you should've used that time to run away. Besides, you shouldn't be standing so close to me all friendly-like," Jari replied.

"Oh; and why's that?"

"Because... You should never let your guard down around your rival!" Jari suddenly turned and made to attack the beetle. Unfortunately, that would be the last mistake he'll make. The heracross blocked his attack and snatched his weapon away in one quick movement. Just as fast as he disarmed the cubone, he smacked him across his head, instantly knocking Jari unconscious. "Well, that takes care of that," he said as he lazily dropped the bone and turned his attention to the group of onlookers. "Sorry about that. He can get a little annoying sometimes." For some reason, Alice let out a frustrating groan.

"What the heck is going on?!" she shouted. "Almost every single pokémon we've meet today breaks out into a fight for no reason! I'm the only one hear who has no idea what's going on! You!" she pointed at Chris who, along with all those present, looked at her funny. "I don't understand pokémon, so you better give me the short version of whatever is going on here. I'm going over there to eat some food before it gets cold." Alice walked off, but she didn't get far before she turned back around. "One more thing; are you gonna catch that cubone?"

"I... Uh..." Chris turned to Tora for some sort of confirmation and was answered in the form of a death stare. "... Nah, you go ahead and catch him." Without wasting a second, Alice pulled a pokéball from her belt, enlarged it, and tossed it at the downed dino. Jari was engulfed in a red light and was sucked into the red and white sphere. The ball snapped shut and only rocked a couple times before that small click was heard, signaling the capture was complete. Alice picked up the ball with a sigh of relief and walked back to preparing her meal for the evening.

"I better go too," Fang said. "Food's starting to sound really good about now." With that, he followed right behind his trainer, leaving Chris, Lani, Tora, and Aaron with the heracross.

"So, anyway... You know that dumbass?" Lani asked.

"If you call having the occasional three fights a day knowing someone, then yes, I do know him," heracross replied.

"Three fights a day?!"

"Yes he sees me as a sort of rival and challenges me to a fight at least three times a day. I was told by his father to watch over him since he can get himself into trouble when he's alone. He's actually got the jump on me a couple of times with those ridiculous sneak attacks."

"I guess you don't have to worry about doing that anymore since Alice captured him," Chris said. Heracross looked at Chris strangely.

"Hmm, so you can understand what I'm saying? That's a new trick for a human. Anyway, I can't just walk away leave him in your care."

"Why's that?"

"He's not the kind of pokémon that listens to what just anyone says. He likes to do things his own way, no matter how stupid or dangerous it is. At least while I'm with him, I could try talking to him so he'll at least try cooperating with that girl. Besides, I owe his dad my life and watching over Jari is the only thing I can do to repay him. So, I'm willing to get captured by you humans. Now that I think about it, it's kinda weird watching over him all the time since we're practically the same age." Chris and the others exchanged looks in disbelief. Surely this large beetle wasn't saying what they think he's saying. Before either of them could ask if he was sure, the beetle held up a claw to stop them. "I'm sure of this. I will be back in the morning for a dual." The heracross turned away from them

"Wait, I thought you said you were willing to be captured," Tora pointed out.

"I did, but I never said I was going to make it easy for you. Just in case you wanted to know, the name's Kaden." On that note, Kaden raised his elytra, exposing the wings underneath, and took off into forest.

Chris woke up early the next morning, clearly excited about his battle with Kaden. He told Alice the previous night about what was going to happen. Unfortunately, she didn't share the same enthusiasm as he did so early in the morning. The sun had barely risen over the horizon, there was a light fog in the area, and it was slightly chilly outside. Neither of those things really bothered him or his teammates, Tora and Lani, for they were excited as well. The group of three started off the morning with some quick exercises to get their bodies warmed up, during which Alice was making breakfast from the food that was left over from last night. It wasn't that much, but it would keep their stomachs full until lunchtime. Once exercises were over, they ate their fill of food with Alice and her flaffy, April. After breakfast, everyone pitched in to help with cleaning and packing up while they waited patiently for Kaden to arrive. It was only half an hour after everything was packed up before Chris saw the giant blue beetle making his entrance.

"So, are you ready for our fight?" Kaden asked.

"You bet," Chris replied.

"Great, so who do I get to fight?"

"You're going up against me," Tora announced as she got in front of Chris and on all fours.

"Ah, you look like you'll put up a decent fight."

"I believe I can put up more than just a 'decent' fight. Just make sure you last long enough for it to be called a fight," she taunted with a few sparks flying out her cheeks.

"Oh, someone's confident," Kaden commented with a small grin. "Just don't let that confidence go to that already big head of yours" There was nothing wrong with a little trash talk before a fight. It only makes the actual fight a bit more fun.

"Good luck, Tora!" Aaron cheered enthusiastically from the sidelines. "Make sure you don't lose!"

"Yeah, don't lose to this over-sized bug!" Lani added.

"You can do it, Tora!" Alice cheered. April stayed quiet, but waved a little to show her support as well. Their encouragement boosted her confidence even more and reached its peak when she realized that it would be the first time Aaron would see her battle. She felt the urge to showoff a little during the fight, but she learned a long time ago that that's never a good idea. Doing that could cost her a win, and Chris a new pokémon.

Chris sized up the blue beetle. Kaden definitely had the height advantage, even without the horn, and was just as bulky as Tora was. He remembers reading that a heracross' shell was extremely hard, almost like steel, and that they were strong, capable of knocking over trees. Of course, the thing they should be concerned with the most is Kaden's powerful horn. He knew that could do some serious damage if Tora was hit by that and thought that as long as they stay clear of it, she should be okay.

"Let's show him what he's dealing with. Use Quick attack," Chris commanded. Tora tensed up her hind legs and sprinted at Kaden. The heracross met her attack head-on and actually took the hit. She managed to push him back a few inches, but he seemed okay.

"That might have actually hurt a little more if my shell wasn't so tough," he said. Kaden grabbed her sides and tossed her about twenty feet into the air with almost no effort. Everyone gasped as they watched Tora flailing and turning about, clearly in a panic since she had never been tossed in the air after she evolved from a little pikachu. Kaden flew after her while she was falling with a glowing claw and karate chopped her chest with Brick break. The raichu gasped as the air was knocked out of her and was sent sailing toward the ground. The impact she made caused everyone wince. Aaron was about to run over and check to see if she was okay, but Lani grabbed his tail with her mouth to stop him.

"Where do you think you're going?" she asked.

"I want to make sure she's alright," he replied in a half-panicked state.

"C'mon, you don't think she's so weak that she'll be taken out that easily do you?"

"No... but she's hurt."

"No duh, genius, it's a battle. I'd be surprised if she didn't get hit at all. If you don't think she can handle something like this, then why don't you go over there and tell her straight up 'I think you're weak and don't think you can handle yourself without my help'?" Aaron stood there for a moment a bit stunned by what the dragon said. He didn't think that Tora was weak, but he doesn't want to see her get hurt. He watched her slowly get up from the blow she just took. Her breathing was a bit labored and it seemed like her chest was hurt from the attack. Other than that, she looked... fine; a little roughed up, but fine nonetheless. She was actually grinning and looked more determined than she did when the battle started.

"Is that all you got?!" Tora shouted tauntingly as more sparks of electricity flew from her cheeks. Aaron saw the determination in her eyes and started to feel a little foolish for almost running out there in the middle of a fight.

"I guess... I should sit back down," he said a little awkwardly.

"It looks like speed won't cut it with him. Let's try and overpower him with Iron tail," Chris said. Tora ran up to the heracross, who was back on the ground now, with her glowing tail. She then leaped up and spun her body around as hard and as fast as she could. Kaden figured he'd overpower her again and meet her head-on with his Horn attack. The two attacks met and it seemed like a pretty even match, but because her attack came from the side, he had a hard time holding her back. Eventually, He was forced to turn his head to let her attack slid off his horn and try for a counter-attack. Tora, however, wasn't going to give him a chance at that. As soon as her tail slid off and she made contact with the ground again, she quickly spun around to deliver another iron tail across the beetles' face.

Kaden was sent rolling on the ground several feet before coming to a stop. "Quick, follow up with Thunderbolt!" Tora's cheeks sparked rapidly before she unleashed a powerful burst of electricity. Kaden couldn't dodge in time and grunted in pain as the electricity coursed through his body. The attack let up after almost five seconds. The blue beetle's body darkened a little in some places and had a bit of smoke coming off him. He shakily got back on his feet.

"You pack quite a punch... for a little mouse," he panted. "I don't think I could take another one of those."

"Do you give up?" Chris asked. Kaden took another look at himself and at his opponent. Tora looked like she could go a few more rounds, while he was already struggling just to stand.

"I give. I know when I'm outmatched." Chris pulled out a pokéball from his pocket and enlarged it. He then threw it at the Kaden's and, just like with Jari, turned him into a red light and sucked him inside. The ball rocked on the ground a couple times before it clicked and stopped moving. Chris ran over and picked up the pokéball now containing his newly acquired heracross.

"This is awesome! I caught a heracross!" he shouted excitedly. Tora cheered as well, more so because of a job well done on her end. She sat down to rest and started to rub at the slight soreness in her chest.

"Tora, you were amazing!" Aaron said as he ran over to her. "How are you feeling? Are you hurt anywhere?"

"My chest hurts a little and my back kind of stings. Other than that, I'm fine," she replied, keeping a smile on her face. Aaron looked a bit worried, but was glad that she didn't get too beaten up. Lani came by and said her congrats on a job well done; also commenting on how Aaron panicked when she got hit. Even though Tora thought it was sweet of him to worry about her that much, she had to tell him that he shouldn't have to worry like that anymore since he's just a few feet away in case anything does goes down. Besides that, she told him that she takes battling as a way to improve herself and she's going to force him to attack her during training if he doesn't take her seriously. Aaron felt a little down at having to fight her, but she assured him that it'd be worth it and she'll think of a way to make it up to him.

Alice came up to Chris with April close behind her. "Nice catch. You got yourself a pretty strong bug pokémon. Personally speaking, I think he's one of the best," Alice said.

"Thanks. I think he's going to be a great addition to the team," Chris replied.

"So, now that we're all done here, let's start heading out. We can probably get to Pewter City by nightfall."

"Really? That's great. That means I can face the gym leader tomorrow."

"That's right, so let's get moving." With that said, Chris clipped Kaden' ball to his belt and recalled Lani back into her ball at her request, leaving Tora out with Aaron. Alice kept April out to let her get some fresh air and the group set out walking toward Pewter City.

Flying in the skies near the Celedan City on a charizard, a young trainer let's out a sigh of relief at the sight of his home. It was situated about five miles southwest of the city, away from any of the main roads so that he could be secluded, just the way he likes it. It was an old two-story mansion with two acres of land all around until you meet the surrounding forest. He could afford it only because of the money he's saved up over the years. Most of the mansion had to be fixed up due to some leaky pipes or rotted wood. Fortunately, or not, his employer took care of all the repairs and even added a few things to make it more comfortable. The upkeep however, was up to him.

The last few days have been stressful for both him and his pokémon, mostly because they had some... business to take care of in the Hoenn region with their most recent client. The first thing Chad noticed were a few pokémon walking about in the backyard. The orange dragon slowly descended in a large spiral until it landed with a small thud on the ground. The pokémon that were outside were a flygon, a swampert, two zangoose, a luxray, a blissey, and standing at the back door was a leafeon, a glaceon, and a dragonite. They all watched him dismount the giant fire lizard. Chad looked around at his pokémon and it seemed like they were getting ready for their daily training.

He made his way to the door and was greeted by the two eons. He knelt down and pets both of them on their head. "Hey Fiore," he said to the leafeon, who yipped happily. "Hey, Frost." The glaceon leaned into the petting and licked his hand. Chad smiled, probably for the first time in weeks. "That's my girl. Let me see it." Frost gladly lies down on her side, exposing her belly to him. There was a noticeable little bulge in her stomach, one that Fiore was taking a good interest in as well. He ran his hand on her cool, icy belly where the bulge was. The glaceon sighed happily; even more so now that her grass counter-part was nuzzling her affectionately. "It won't be long now. I'd say just a few more days and you'll have a healthy pup." Both eons yipped happily at this and continued to nuzzle each other.

Chadgot up, letting the two lovers be alone for now, and locked eyes with the dragonite. The dragon tilted her head toward the door and went inside the house. Knowing that it was something important, he wordlessly followed her inside. He was led upstairs into his bedroom. It wasn't much, mostly because he did nothing but sleep in here when he had time. There was bathroom on the left side of his room and next to it was his computer. The room was surprisingly clean from the last time he left it. He assumed Miu, the dragonite, kept the room intact.

Chadclosed the door behind him and stared at the intimidating dragon standing a few feet from him. "Has everyone been keeping up with their training while I was gone?"

"Of course. Other than Frost, I saw to it that everyone continued their training. I also kept the house clean with their help as well." Her tone didn't change. She sounded almost too calm, seeing that they haven't been face-to-face in some time. He knew that she was anything but calm. He just didn't know when she'll snap. "So, you seem to be happy about their soon-to-be pup," Miu said, Chad was caught off-guard by the statement.

"I guess so, why?" he asked.

"Do you plan on giving their child away, just like you did mine?!" Her mood changed from a calm sea to a hurricane in an instant. "While you were out there doing whatever that fat sack of shit tells you, why didn't you look for my daughter? I want her back!"

"I can't do that. She's not coming back."

"Who the hell gave you the right to decide that by yourself?!" The small flames in her mouth told him that she was holding back the urge to incinerate him right there. "You went too far this time. I've put up with this bullshit long enough. I'm going to deal with this myself and get Lani back, since you won't do anything." Miu began walking toward the door, but Chad continued to stand where he was. "Move."

"You know damn well you can't just walk up to that bastard and kill him," he said sternly.

"Not if you continue to stand in my way." Despite him blocking the way out, she reached for the doorknob.

"Stop! You can't-" Just as he reached out to stop her, the dragon quickly turned and punched him in his chest. The air was knocked out him as he fell to the floor, clutching his chest as he gasped for air. Miu had enough sense left in her to not to punch him with all her strength, so she settled for half of it. Any more and she could've broken his ribs. She picked him up roughly by his shirt and pinned him against the door.

"I don't give a flying fuck about what you have to say! I should smash your face in. I should break your fucking legs. I should rip that body of yours apart and feed it to the fucking houndoom!!! If it wasn't for you going along with your piece of shit father, then-"

"Shut up!" Chad managed to shout through his labored breaths as he slapped her. They both stared at each other with intense hatred, ready to tear at the others throat out. After nearly a whole minute of nothing but staring, Miu released Chad, letting him fall to the floor. She turned and made her way to the bed. There, she sat on the edge with her head down. Chad got on his feet a few moments later and sat next to her. For a while, he couldn't come up with anything to say. This wasn't how things were supposed to be. They never used to fight like this. They were always on edge now, the other pokémon too. It doesn't take much for them to start arguing about something.

"Hey... Remember the time we first met, in the Dragons' Den near Blackthorn City? You remember how ticked off you were because I caught you?" Miu lifted her head slightly and looked over at Chad.

"If I remember correctly, I was ticked off because you threw a rock at me to knock me out," she said softly. "You didn't have any pokémon back then."

"Oh, right. Well, remember when I found you after you freaked out about a nightmare and went missing for a whole day?" Miu chuckled a little.

"The nightmare wasn't what freaked me out. I freaked out because the first thing I woke up to, was you jackin' off like there was no tomorrow while I was still in the tent. I'm glad I didn't wake up just before you would've finished."

"In my defense, you usually didn't get up until around nine o'clock. I still had at least twenty minutes left." They both chuckled at that. "Okay, how about the day you evolved into what you are now? It was you first time having legs and you fell on top of me."

"Yeah, you thought it would be funny to trip me up and you tripped me the wrong way. I'm still not sure how you managed to do that." Things got quiet after that, neither sure of what to say anymore. Chad busied himself by playing with his hands. It felt a little awkward for him, not being able to say anything to his long-time partner. The rift he felt growing between them was deadly obvious and it only put more strain on their relationship. He suddenly heard some faint sniffling and looked over to see Miu crying. "Hey, wha-"

"There's a... letter from Him on the dresser. I didn't read it, but it was... Why I was so upset with you... More than I already was..." Chad got up and went over his dresser that was on the other side of the bed. Just like she said, there was letter on top of a red envelope addressed to him from his "employer". His chest tightened up as he frantically picked it up and read it over. If it was one thing he learned over the years, it was that the color of the envelopes meant everything. White means it's a normal assignment, yellow means an urgent assignment, orange is a warning for 'misbehavior', and red is...

"Chad, it seems you still don't know what it means to follow orders. You don't think I know what you did with Carlton Thomas and his son? I have eyes all over the place, boy. I know your every move. How was your trip to Hoenn? Did you have fun changing their names? I wish I were there so you could change mine; maybe to Mark or Anthony. Reginald has a nice ring to it, but I digress. You failed to finish the assigned task and for that, I am very displeased. That was clever thing you did by making it look like a homicide and kidnapping to the police with Carlton's blood on the carpet. No matter. I'll send someone over to deal with him, since you're not up to the task. By the way, you'll be hosting a party tonight at your residence. Be sure to have enough food and beverages for your guests, as well as any other necessities. You might want to check your inventory for any... lost items."

Chadripped the letter to shreds, feeling both extreme hate and fear at the situation he was in. "That... Fat son of a bitch," he hissed,

"Chad, I don't know what you did," Miu began. "But you really fucked up this time."

"Don't you think I know that?! I'm not hosting a fucking party for this cunt! I'd sooner die than-"

"Then that's what's going to happen if you don't! He'll kill you, collect us, and either sell us or whore us out at one of his clubs! Do you even think about how bad it is for us?! Every time you fuck up, we get fucked; by any guy who thinks he has the largest dick in the world or some nympho-bitch who doesn't get it enough at home! He might even kill someone else to make an example out of them." She walked toward him as she was talking and was stood in front of him again. "You can't keep doing this. Host the party and I, along with a couple of the others, will keep a lookout for anything suspicious. We'll make sure nothing like last time will happen again."

Back in the Viridian Forest, Chris and Alice, along with their pokémon, were still walking to their ultimate destination; Pewter City. It was starting to get pretty late in the evening. The sun was pretty much down and the nocturnal pokémon were beginning to stir. The day was pretty enjoyable for everyone. Lunchtime was the most eventful part of the day, due to Alice releasing Jari from his pokéball because she wanted him to eat something after his fight the previous night. The cubone made a scene about how his 'greatness' could be trapped in such a small place and tried to pick a fight with April. This was quickly avoided when Kishan forced himself out of his ball and shot a water gun at the small dinosaur. Jari didn't put up much of a fight since he hasn't fully recovered from his injuries. After that, Alice recalled him back in his ball and Kishan had to consol the frightened sheep again.

Tora and Aaron spent their time talking with each other. There was even a bit of flirting going on, mostly on Aaron's part. Some of it was caught by Chris, being that they forgot he was only a couple feet away. Once they realized that though, the two fell silent, slightly embarrassed, but eventually went back to talking again. Chris thought it was a bit funny and wondered how they acted when they were alone on their little dates. He figured that as long as they were enjoying themselves, they could say whatever they wanted... As long as he's not within earshot of something highly inappropriate he shouldn't be hearing.

As the evening dragged on, Chris was starting to doubt that they were going to make it. "Are you sure we're gonna make it there?" he asked. "It's getting pretty late."

"Don't worry," Alice replied. "I passed through there just last week. We're pretty close now."

"You did? Where did you go?"

"To visit my grandma in Pallet Town. I figured I should stop by since it's been a while since I've last seen her."

"Oh, okay. How far do you think we have to go?"

"I'd say just half an hour from now." About an hour past since she's said that. Since the sun was completely gone now, they're using April as a flashlight to help them see. "Okay, guys, just ten more minutes!"

"You said that twenty minutes ago!" Chris complained. "Are you even sure it's close-by?"

"Of course I am. In fact, it's right over there!" Alice ran on ahead and left Chris and the others catch up. They passed the city limits sign and was soon met with the sight of Pewter City. Just like with any other major city, tall buildings and shops were everywhere you looked. They were standing uphill and could see most of it. Houses were pretty scattered about, but still remained close to each other. They could see the pokémon center and the pokémart located not too from where they where. Unfortunately, Chris couldn't see where the gym was, but finding it will have to wait until the tomorrow. Everyone was tired and needed rest.

The group went straight for the pokémon center. There were a few trainers in the main lobby. Some were using the video-phones, while others were probably waiting for their pokémon to get healed. There was a Nurse Joy working at the front desk. "Hello, welcome to the pokémon center," she said with her trademark smile. "Will you be staying the night?"

"Yeah, do you have two rooms available?" Alice asked. Since she had been traveling longer, Chris let her book the rooms.

"Yes, we have two rooms available. How long do you plan on staying?"

"Three days." Joy pulled out two room keys and handed them to Alice.

"Your rooms are 208 and 210. I hope you enjoy your stay."

"Our rooms are right next each other," Alice said as she handed Chris his room key.

"So, why are we staying three days?" he asked.

"Why do you think? It's your first time to a new city and you do some sight seeing or some training before your gym battle."

"Eh, I guess that makes sense. I could probably earn some cash while I'm at it too."

"That's the spirit. Now, let's head up to our rooms and meet in the cafeteria for breakfast in the morning."

"Alright then. We'll see you in the morning."

Chris, along with Tora and Aaron, followed Alice and April to the second floor. Their rooms were located at the end of the hallway. They parted ways and went into their rooms. Upon entering the room, Chris turned on the light as Tora ran straight for the bed and did a face plant on it. "Aww, yeah. I missed you bed," she sighed.

"Hey, not so fast," Chris said as he put his things down. "We haven't had a proper bath since we left home and that's sounding really good right now."

"But I wanna go to bed," she whined. "Can't we do it in the morning?"

"I don't wanna have to get up and wash our two-day funk out the sheets. Besides, it'll feel good to wash all the dirt and sweat off our bodies. I'll get the bath ready." Chris gathered a change of clothes and a bottle of shampoo from his bag and went into the bathroom to prepare their bath.

Meanwhile, Tora groaned and turned on her back with her eyes closed. She really didn't feel like taking a bath right now. The need for sleep was on the forefront of her mind and she just wanted to drift away into slumber. "A bath doesn't sound too bad right now." Tora opened her eyes to see Aaron's big blue ones looking into hers. Had she more energy, she would've screamed out of the suddenness of his appearance, but all she could manage was a little jump. Aaron had transformed back to his mew form and was floating just inches above her face.

"What are you doing? Someone could walk in and see you?!"

"No, they won't. I made sure the door was locked," he replied. "C'mon, babe, let's go get clean. After that we can cuddle together and sleep all you want."

"Can't we just... Do it now?"

"I don't think we even have enough time for the foreplay before Chris comes back to get you." It took her a minute, but she finally got what he was saying and blushed.

"T-that's not what I meant!"

"After our bath then?"

"N-no!"

"How about after Chris falls asleep? We can sneak out if you want." Tora sat up at this point.

"No! We're not going to mate tonight!"

"Good. Since you have the energy to sit up and argue, you have enough to wash up," Aaron said as he used his powers to lift her up. Tora didn't put much effort into her flailing and simply went limp in his psychic hold. The psychic flew over to the bathroom in time to see Chris turn off the water in the tub. "We're ready for the bath."

"Great, we can get this over with," he replied. Chris started stripping off his clothes, starting with his shirt and socks. After he got all his clothes off he hopped in the tub. Aaron followed right behind him and set Tora gently in the water with him. The warm water felt good on everyone's tired muscles. They were tempted to just soak in it until it cooled, but Chris knew that he should get this over with. He grabbed the shampoo on the side of the tub and squeezed a considerable amount in his hand. He immediately got to work and worked the shampoo into Tora's fur, starting with her head. The raichu closed her eyes and sighed a little in content, a little smile showing on her face. Aaron giggled a bit.

"Someone looks happy," he said.

"Hmm... Shut up," she replied half-heartedly. Both Aaron and Chris laughed at her and continued with their bath. Aaron squeezed some shampoo out and began rubbing it in his fur.

"I didn't know you used shampoo," Chris commented.

"I don't really use it all the time," he replied.

"I learned a long time ago that it helps keeping my fur nice and healthy. I made my own supply back at my home and spoil myself with it sometimes."

"You made your own shampoo? That's pretty cool."

"Less talking, more rubbing," Tora said.

"Okay, girl, you want me to get your front or can you take care of it?"

"Mmm... You can do it. I just wanna... Rest my eyes..." Amazingly enough, she fell asleep right there. Aaron was at a loss for words. Chris just laughed at him and finished their bath.

After drying off and putting some clothes on, Chris didn't bother brushing Tora's fur and carried her to the bed, leaving Aaron to tend to his own fur. He managed to get her situated comfortably under the sheets without disturbing her too much and sat on the edge of the bed. Aaron came out of the bathroom shortly after and sat next to Tora, watching her sleep peacefully. He still couldn't believe how lucky he was to have her. He couldn't help but lean in and kiss her lightly on her cheek. Tora's face twitched a little and Aaron saw her make a small smile, which made him happy because he knows he made it happen.

"You really like her, huh?" Chris asked suddenly, making Aaron jump.

"Oh! You, uh, saw that? I-I wasn't going to try anything, I swear!"

"Shh... Aaron, dude, it's okay," Chris said with a low chuckle. "It's just that you looked really happy when you kissed her cheek."

"I was; and I really do like her. She's just so... Unbelievable."

"Yes, she really is," he agreed. "Well, we better turn in for the night. We have a bunch of things to do tomorrow." Chris got up to turn the lights off, slipped under the sheets, and held the sleeping raichu in his arms like he does every night. Not really knowing how to go about it, the psychic awkwardly sat where he was, trying to think of a way to ask what he wanted without sounding weird.

"H-hey, can I... Get under there... With you two?"

"Sure," Chris said nonchalantly as he lifted the covers. Aaron quickly dove under the covers and snuggled on the other side of Tora. He soon fell asleep, looking forward to spending another day with his love.

End notes: I only put in about an hours worth of research into tornados so I'm not 100% sure if that's right. Yes, Aaron makes his own shampoo. And for a limited time only, you can get your hands on some Mew brand shampoo. Get that hair nice and healhy with the shampoo only legendaries use. For the psychic kitty in you, get Mew brand shampoo. Anyway, happy trails and I'll see you all next time. (^.^)

Tora- The Adventure Begins

I'm back people and I've got a new chapter for you. I don't really have much to say now cuz I expressed myself in my latest journal entry. That was one hell of a week in Ohio. Anyway, just cuz I went on a vacation from home doesn't mean anything's...

Tora- A Chance At Love

Alright, here's the next chapter. Again, I'm sorry. I had a 4-day writter's block near the end and my computer has finally stopped being an asshole long enough for me upload this. I swear, as soon as I get a job, I'm saving up to replace this 10-year...

Tora- We Meet Again

Well, I'm a bit late on the update. I had a couple projects for school to take care of and that was a LOT of work. It took nearly two weeks to finish both of them. So it was pretty much "business before pleasure" for me lately. Anyway, I'm got nothing...
