#2 of To Hold a Twilight Rose

Okay guys. I know it's been a while. I'm sorry. I had a writing fail. So I decided to rewrite the first chapter a bit differently, in first person, for one. Let's see how it goes.

~~~~~
"Matt, are you okay?"
I shook my head and moaned. "Headache..." I looked up at Scott, my adopted father and boss, weakly. "It came on really fast this time."
Scott chuckled. "I told you not to drink that coffee." A couple weeks ago, I'd downed a cup of coffee, despite Scott warning me against it.
"Hypocrite. You drank some too."
He held up his paws defensively. "Hey, I swear it was an accident!"
"You did it for the painkillers and you know it."
"Yup." Scott held out a couple small pills.
"Yay drugs!" I gulped them down quickly. The pain dulled, eventually subsiding.
Scott handed me my sunglasses, which I put on. "Now get back to work."
Before I go on, there's a few thing's I should explain. One, the migraines. Apparently cheetahs are allergic to coffee, or something like that. Or maybe we just overdose on caffiene easily, I'm not sure. But then, the ridiculous amounts of soda and soda I drink do nothing... Second, yes, Scott and I are both cheetah furs. Third, my real parents kicked me out of the house a year ago, when they found out that I was gay. I was only 15. Scott's gay too, which is one of the reasons he adopted me; he knows what I've been through. The fourth and last detail isn't as important, but you might've been wondering. Why do I wear sunglasses AFTER the headache stops? It isn't a fashoin statement, though Scott's told me they look damn good on me. My eyes. They're perpetually glazed over with a lusty shine. That's not to say I'm a sex fiend, I'm actually a virgin. I'm entirely lucid too, having got used to it. The for the lust? I'm more hypersexed than a deprived fox. Plus, I don't paw. It just feels wrong to me for some reason. But back to the story.
About two minutes after donning my sunglasses, I was up and running. I dashed around our once-little coffee shop, taking and filling orders. Not once have I spilled a drink. I thank my great balance.
The shop was packed. Coffee shop or not, we serve just about every non-alcoholic drink you can imagine. Or at least, it seems like it. Coffees, teas, sodas, juices... Because of that, we're the number one hangout in town.
Suddenly, an unfamiliar shape caught my eye. I know most of our customers by heart, and that includes the ones that try to trip me up by dressing in drag. I'm good at connecting names to the fur.
I turned to the side, and my vision immediately locked on the new fur. I was utterly stunned by the fur's looks. For one, he was about my age, and it was rare to see anyone younget than 20 at the shop. At first, I thought he was a wolf, but then I saw his soft-looking tail, which was pulled into his lap. I decided on folf. He had the most beautiful silver and black fur that I'd ever seen. It was long, and luxuriously shiny. His long black headfur was worn in a low ponytail, and went just to his shoulderblades. He was thin, but muscled, and had striking violet eyes. He had decided against a shirt andwore fitted black jeans, plus a black leather trench coat that went to his ankles. It was made so the torso and upper arms fitted tightly, and the forearms and bottom flared. He wore it open, so I could see his chest.
He smiled at me. "Hello there."
I snapped back to reality. "S-sorry, I was just..."
"Checking me out?" The folf chuckled.
"What? No, no, I..." I found he couldn't lie to him.
He flicked his wrist at me gaily. "Don't worry about it.I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking you over. I like your uniform. It's cute."
I blushed. He was referring to the white polo, khaki pants, black apron and matching visor I was wearing.
"It's even cuter when you blush."
That just made me blush more. "You like it? It's not a uniform... I just think it look right im a place like this."
"I like it..." the folf said softly. "I really do."
"Thanks..." I'd never really gotten a compliment before. "Oh! What did you want, uh..."
"Twilight."
"What did you want Twilight?"
"Originally, I was going to get some jasmine tea, but now..." The folf wilted a bit, slightly embarrassed.
"What?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Now I just want to ask you if you'd like to come to my place for the night... Maybe go to a party. Would you?"
One of my ears twitched. A friend? Those were pretty unfamiliar. I usually isolated myself from my own age group."I... I would like that..."
"Okay..." Twilight looked at my nametag. "Okay, Matti. I'll pick you up. When do you get done?"
Matti? That was different. Most furs shortened Matthias to Matt. "Um, 8."
"Okay Matti. I'll see you then." Twilight got up and walked out, and I watched him go. I looked at the clock.
Damn. An hour and a half to go...
By the time 8 finally rolled aroung, Twilight had already been waiting for me for fifteen minutes, give or take. I hurried upstairs to the apartment I lived in and quickly changed into something more casual. I put on a tight pink t-shirt and black skinny jeans, as well as a dark purple jacket. I grabbed a few other things and stuffed them into a bag, so I would be prepared for the off chance that I'd be invited to spend the weekend.
Downstairs, I let Scott know that I was going out. He hugged me, happy that I was finally spending time with someon my age, and warned me to be careful, and knowingly told me to call him if I got invited to spend the whole weekend.
Outside, I nervously climbed onto Twilight's motorcycle. It was admittedly beautiful; silver and black, matching his fur. But I'd never been on one before. I got over it quickly once he pealed out of the spot he was parked in. I loved the wind in my fur, the exhilaration. Naturally, I loved the speed, too, being a cheetah.
Twilight drove straight for the woods, which I though was odd. "The woods?"
"Yeah," he called back at me. "I live out there, away from my parents. They visit sometimes, but I can't stand being near them for extended periods of time, and they understand."
"Oh. Mine kicked me out."
"Assholes." Twilight muttered.
"What?" I hadn't quite heard him.
"Almost all of the adults around here, and a lot of our generation... They beat us down, they insult us... There's a reason I told you to call me by my real name."
"Twilight, you mean?"
"Yeah..." he said, almost nervously. "At school, I go by Tael."
I flinched. "You...?"
"Yes. Me. I'm Tael the Shatterer."
"I never thought... you seem so mild."
"I am, usually. I didn't shatter that weasel's sternum for nothing. He pulled a switchblade on a gay fox. I was suspended for it, almost expelled. "
"So Tael's good, then."
"I walk the line between. The rumors help though, or things like that would happen much more often." Twilight braked. "Was I speeding? We're here already."
Yes. Yes you were, by at least forty mph. "I don't know, I wasn't paying attention."
"Hmm..." Twilight walked over to what appeared to be a shed. He pulled a keychain out of his coat, and unlocked at least four deadbolts, plus a couple other locks. He swung the door open. Inside, there was a staircase leading down. I followed him inside, and he relocked the door behind us. We went down the stairs and through another door. He flicked on a light.
It was one room, but it was impressive. There was a computer, a stereo system, four hammocks, a large bed, and a plasma screen TV.
"Want to watch a movie? I never really though of what we'd do once we got here."
"That sounds good."
"What one?"
I looked at a shelf of DVDs. One caught my eye. I pulled it out. "How about this one?"
Twilight raised an eyebrow. "You sure? First time I saw it I had nightmares for a week."
"I've seen it before, actually, but I didn't have anyone to watch it with."
"Oh, okay." Twilight put the disk in and jumped onto his bed as the opening credits rolled. I sat next to him.
Four killing sprees later, I was clinging to Twilight, who was stroking my back in an effort to keep me calm. I started purring lightly.
"You like that?" Twilight asked.
"Mhmm..."
"Hey Matti?"
"Yeah?"
"We haven't known each other long, I know, only a few hours, but..." Twilight blushed. "But I love you..."
I looked up at him. "You do?" In reply, Twilight, the most beautiful fur I'd ever met, kissed me.
"I love you too, but..."
Twilight wilted. "What?"
"Matthias Anthony Gates. You?"
"Twilight Michael R-R.."
"You can't tell me your last name?"
"Rose. Twilight Michael Rose. I get made fun of for it a lot..."
"Twilight Rose... I like it... It sounds amazing."
"Thanks... My turn. I want to see your eyes."
"I..." I sighed and took the sunglasses off, showing him my glazed over blue eyes.
"I see... I like them." He licked the side of my face. It was then he noticed something. "Matti... I think you have a problem." He giggled and gestured at my growing bulge.
I mewed in embarassment and covered it with my tail.
He looked at me with soft eyes and moved my tail. "Let me help you..."
To Hold a Twilight Rose
Um... yeah, this is my first non-fanfic story, so it may or may not be good. Who knows, comment, tell me if you like it. And I do consider suggestions too. =) ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "Headache?" Matt looked up from where he was sitting and smiled weakly. He...
