DEATH IN THE TIME BAY: PART FOUR

_ He awoke amid more pain, but it was less severe than the agony that had wracked his body before he had lost consciousness. The wolf was cradling his head, and Jack suspected that perhaps he had gone into convulsions some time while unconscious. The operator fox was saying something to the wolf, but Jack didn't understand it, and blanked out again._

_ Jack awoke again, but this time there was a lion bandaging up his leg, the wolf was still there, but he looked scared and horrified, it was quite obvious he had never been in a situation like this one. He tried to speak, but his mouth wouldn't work right, but this time it took him a few seconds to blank out, and in those few seconds, he knew that he was going to live. _

_ When he awoke this time, he was on a stretcher, borne by two police officers, a rabbit, and an unhappy Labrador. Jack tried to sit up, but the effort was tremendous and he couldn't move more than a few inches, he doubted that the police officers noticed._

_ "You're going to be all right, you're wounds are stabilized and we're taking you to a hospital." Said the rabbit, Jack blinked, but before he could muster the strength to attempt to speak he was slid into the back of an ambulance. The bottom of the stretcher jolted against something, and the pain knocked Jack out again, this time for good._
