For Love of Love 2: The City

_As sweet and musical
As bright Apollo\'s lute, strung with his hair;
And when Love speaks, the voice of all the gods
Makes heaven drowsy with the harmony._
William Shakespeare, Love\'s Labor Lost.
Oliver considered what Jamie had old him. He recognized that having a Digimon was all fine and good, but what was he going to do with him on a day-to-day basis? He still had to go to school. And work. And live. Hell, he didn\'t even know what Lex looked like under those robes. He might be really scary-looking.
\"So, how long have you two been ...\" he began, not knowing what word he should be using to describe them.
\"Partners? Almost three years, why?\"
\"Just wondering...\" He found himself going over the image of the two of them hugging next to that tree stump. \"I just don\'t get what it is that you do.\"
\"Oh, this and that...like I said, it generally ends up being me running after Jes while she--\" Lex appeared between the two of them, and poor Oliver\'s heart skipped a few beats.
\"AGH!\" he jumped. \"Will you please stop doing that?\" His Digimon\'s eyes drooped in sadness, and he looked away. Great. Now he had made his Digimon unhappy. I\'m not any good at this, he told himself.
\"...fine....just do it...more loudly, or something.\" Lex\'s hapiness quickly returned.
After they had walked for a while, they came upon what couldn\'t be anything but the city that Jes was talking about. Oliver had spent the previous summer in Rome as part of a foreign exchange program, and while he was there, he had taken a few courses in the history of architecture, seeing some of the finest examples of things produced by nothing but groups of people, intellect, and raw materials: the great Gothic cathedrals, the Colosseum, the aqueducts...
From what he was looking at, Oliver quickly came to the conclusion that there were no master architects among Digimon. What was there was a fairly large city/fort like complex that had been constructed of roughly-hewn logs and stone. Still ... it was quite an achievement for them. The two Digimon apparently shared this sentiment, judging by the way they were looking at the three stories of log buildings that comprised the \'city\'.
\"Hm. I wonder how we‘re supposed to get in...\"
\"You‘re the expert on this...\" Lex, the most annoying, disturbed Digimon she had ever had the misfortune of meeting, shrugged under his robe. Why the hell did he wear that thing, anyway? It wasn\'t cold.
Her attention was then drawn to Oliver, the weird magician\'s tamer, \"Uhhh...\" He stood there, in front of the gate, staring like the complete moron that he was, at a Gazimon over by the gate. Why did she have to end up with such an incredibly stupid group of people?
Her thoughts turned back to how they were going to get past the gate into the city. There was no way that she had walked all this way, and embarrassed herself, for nothing. Maybe there was someone up somewhere in the upper stories of the city that could open the gate for them.
\"OI! Anyone back there!?\" she yelled.
\"Wha...?\" The Gazimon woke up from the noise, and blinked in tired confusion.
Her own tamer... how she hated him... didn\'t seem so thrilled at that. Although Oliver\'s reaction seemed a bit excessive... and what in the blazes did Lex think he\'s doing? As if he could block anything from how short he is.
\"Why are you staring?\" It seemed fairly stressed from the attention. After all; it\'s not everyday a Mega and an Armored Champion with their tamer\'s cross anyone\'s path. Still. It bothered her. And it was in her way. Jes resisted the urge to knock someone\'s lights out, instead pointing at the gate.
\"How do we get in?\" she asked as politely as she could.
At that, the Gazimon jumped up and yanked on a rope it had been sitting on. After a barely perceivable pause, the gate swung open with the loud grating of some huge mechanism, banging as the motion ended against the palisade wall.
Jamie, her said Tamer, didn\'t seem to want to keep quiet as it is normally intelligent to do so \"Whoo... Clever...\"
Of course it was clever! That was the entire point! She was sure that Jamie didn\'t want to know how close she was to whipping around and punching him in the face. Between Lex, Oliver, and Jamie, she had taken about all the stupidity she could handle for one day. She began to move past the gate. Nedremon would still be there, it had always been his dream to do this, there was no way he wouldn\'t have stayed. After a little distance, she turned to have a look at the mechanism working the gate, and almost collided with Lex, that.
\"Gah!\" She kept her balance... just \"Would you PLEASE stop that!?\" That stupid pile of dry goods didn\'t seem to affected, just floating back a little. Jes grumbled to herself, continuing. And she thought Jamie had issues. That creature was unbearable.
Jes\' heart was pounding uncomfortably somewhere in her neck as she searched the place with her eyes.. Where are you, Nedremon? She looked for a little while more, completely oblivious to the others or the wooden buildings. In another second she spotted him... \"Nedremon...\" It\'s been three years, two months, sixteen days... WHO THE FUCKING HELL IS THAT!?! She could barely contain her rage as an Angewomon sided up with her male. He seemed to notice and brushed the other Digimon off, talking. Jes couldn\'t hear what he said, but the Angewomon didn\'t like it, and she responded differently.
\"HOW MANY TIMES MUST I SAY NO!?!\" His reptilian face was contorted in fury.
Jes watched that whore storm off with a small degree of satisfaction. She walked up to him... looking up. Nedromon. He spotted her and returned the stare. They stood absolutely still for a momentary moment, with her eyes locked.
\"N-Nedremon ...\" Her eyes began streaming heavily.
\"Jes?\" He dropped down to hug her tightly \"You‘re back...\"
\"Ne... I-I missed y-you!\" She sobbed, closing her eyes tightly.
\"I missed you too, Jes. I...I thought you had died.\" His face took a guilty cast \"I‘m...sorry...\" She looked at him with wide eyes \"No...you can‘t have.\" Her head shook sharply, unwilling to accept the burden that had just been placed upon it to accept such drastic information.
\"I have... Jes, I‘m so sorry...\" He detached himself, standing up to walk away slowly, head bent.
Jes stood stock still. Why? What had she done to deserve this? She turned back, walking slowly but deliberately towards Jamie, unsure of her intentions. She could kill him, that would bring her a little bit of satisfaction. She could maim him for life. That might be a little more fulfilling. She stared down on him as his face paled. This...thing thing. This human. It was all she had left. WHY, DAMN IT, WHY!?! Her eyes began pouring again as she literally fell on her tamer, crying violently.
Lex wasn\'t really interested in what any of the others were doing in the city. Just it\'s existence was enough to fascinate him. Looking in one direction, then in another, the Magusmon did his best to take in everything that he could. Everything looked like it had been made out of trees that someone had cut from the ground and made into more or less rectangular pieces. It was incredible. There were Digimon walking around, talking. Different types, different sub-types, different races...it was incredible. No one attacked him on sight. No one even yelled at him. It was wonderful! Slightly unconsciously, he made his way behind Jes once again. She didn\'t seem like she was very interested in the city itself. When he was finally able to drag his attention away from the buildings, the Digimon, and the fact that no one cared what he was, he followed Jes\' eyes up to a point in what seemed to be the center of the city, occupied by one Digimon in particular.
Sitting next to what looked like a very large hole in the ground was what looked like a tall, lizard-like Digimon, surrounded by a number of smaller Digimon, who looked like they were talking to him about something, and another Digimon that he recognized as an Angewomon, standing at his side, bothering him about something.
\"HOW MANY TIMES MUST I SAY NO?!\"
The Angewomon\'s wings flared out at the rejection, and she began to walk away. She was so...beautiful. He sighed a little as she turned to at least face in his direction. She wasn\'t looking at him, though. She was looking directly up at the sky, looking a little bit irritated. His eyes flickered over her feet, her legs, her wings, her stomach...in any other place, an Angewomon probably would have attacked him on sight—it had happened to him before, actually. That was one of the instances where he was able to escape with both his life and his dignity, without having to pay the price of someone else\'s life. His eyes went dreamily along her golden hair, that had been caught up and blown by the wind. Without any warning, her gaze suddenly went over him. He almost teleported away immediately—his regular reaction—but he didn\'t. She might actually talk to me! With a huge smile, he quickly teleported – this time, closer to what he was thinking about, rather than farther away.
\"AH!\" she jumped when he appeared next to her. \"Y-y-y-you c-can teleport?!\"
\"I can!\" Lex answered proudly, demonstrating the ability by rapidly teleporting around her in every direction. When he returned to be directly in front of her, she was staring at him in a new light. One of admiration! Or at least of respect! Lex grinned widely.
\"...wow...even I can\'t move that fast...\"
Lex beamed. She was talking to him. She was actually talking to him! She must have noticed his happiness, because she quickly broke into a giggle herself. Lex smiled again happily, then wondered if perhaps she had been around when this whole thing was built.
\"When-was-all-this-erected-anyway?-How-long-has-it-been-here?-How-long-have-you-been-here?\" He bombarded her with questions, having never had the opportunity to speak to anyone like this. Jes was far too antisocial, and Oliver was just...quiet. But this Angewomon would talk to him!
\"Slow down!\" she blinked. Lex grinned a little as he cocked his head, waiting for her answer. \"Um...about a year ago, and, uh...a year, too.\"
\"How-long-did-it-take?\" he asked, rapid-fire again. \"What-was-used?-Did-you-help?\"
\"A month. Wood and stone. Yeah.\" She grinned. \"Hey, I\'m getting the hang of this!\"
\"Was it worth it?\" Lex asked, that being the last thing he had found himself wondering while looking around at the city.
\"Yes.\" The Angewomon nodded. \"No more wilds!\" Lex smiled. He wished that he would have known about this place before...he never would have left. But then he never would have met Oliver. Would he? But if he hadn\'t met Oliver, he wouldn\'t have known about this in the first place. Unless...
He threw the logic out of his head. He didn\'t need it.
\"Then what do you do with yourself from day to day?\"
\"Hm....mostly...well...\" The Angewomon looked up in thought, giving Lex a tiny view of the rest of her face covered up by the metallic helmet she was wearing. \"Nothing, I guess!\" she giggled sheepishly.
\"Nothing?\" Lex cocked his head. The Angewomon kept giggling.
\"Well...not absolutely nothing.\" Her giggle rose in magnitude. The degree at which Lex\'s head was cocked increasingly. Her giggle rose again, and she quickly grabbed the crook of one of his arms, pulling him along the ground behind her. There was no resistance since he wasn\'t on the ground, but she still had a visibly difficult time doing it as spasm after spasm of laughter racked her body. After a few hundred feet of movement, she pulled him into one of the log buildings that composed the city. Giggling madly, she used her free hand to throw off her helmet, giving him a smile.
Then she put her arms around him and pulled him up against her. He flinched, and almost teleported away. What was she doing? She was still giggling—and so was he for that matter, but he still didn\'t get what she was doing. He didn\'t really know...what he was supposed to do. He could feel her hand begin to tug at the knots and clasps that held his robes together. He shuddered at the thought of what she was doing, then he shuddered again at what she might do if she him for what he really was. He quickly hunched over and teleported behind the Angewomon, slipping his hands around her waist.
He wanted her to see him, he really did...but what could he do? He pursed his lips a little and held back a tear that was forming. The little bit of concentration that it required for him to maintain the glowing energy around his hands broke, and the swirling blue plasma disappeared. He closed his eyes tightly and waited for her next reaction—what he was sure was going to be jumping away from him.
\"Oooooooh,\" she cooed, a great deal of interest in her voice. Lex opened his eyes hopefully. Her head turned around. Her light green eyes met his red ones, and she smiled. \"I think I want to see more,\" she said seductively, twisting herself around to face him again. This wasn\'t happening. It couldn\'t be happening. It was too good to be happening.
Despite her words, Lex found himself hesitating again to reveal any more of himself. When he didn\'t do anything for a few moments, one of her hands reached up and flipped his hood down quickly before saying anything, revealing his face to someone else for the first time...at least in a year. He quickly smiled, revealing a lightly scaled, orange, reptilian face, with eyes whose pupils were bright red points of light.
\"Hi...\" he widened his smile hopefully. He hoped his luck would last. This was already too good to be true. In return he got a wide-eyed stare from the Angewomon. He met the stare with a hopeful look of his own. He was about to ask her if there was something wrong, but before he could, she jumped onto him, pushing him to the ground with a loud giggle.
He laid in place, his hands and face now revealed, and looked up as the Angewomon reached around her back and undid something on the back of her outfit that made it fall to the ground around her knees. Beneath it, she was completely naked. Lex\'s eyes widened even more as they began to survey the parts of his body that he hadn\'t seen yet.
\"Ohhhhhh,\"so he found himself saying. \"You\'re beautiful.\"
\"Oh?\" Her alabaster face turned a little red, and she knelt down on the ground next to him. \"Really?\" He nodded, remaining perfectly still—this wasn\'t exactly his strong point.
\"I ... I ... I want to see the rest,\" she said, putting her hand on his chest where one of the clasps to his robe was. It was as if she already understood how uneasy he was...
\'I-if-if you want...\" he managed to stutter, then giggled, trying not to flinch too much as her hands moved along his front, untying things and unclipping others. Try as he might, a series of quivers ran through his body for every thing she undid, until there was nothing left, and his robe split down the middle to reveal the rest of his own body, which was proportional to a humans and similarly scaled. The Angewomon looked down along his body in the same way he looked at hers. He couldn\'t keep calling her that, though, even in his thoughts. He was looking at her naked—and she at him, he realized. \"What\'s your name?\"
\"Call me Angie,\" she answered without looking up.
\"I\'m Lex,\"
\"Aww, that\'s a cute name!\" She giggled.
\"It\'s not supposed to cute!\" He giggled with her. \"It\'s supposed to evoke fear in the heart of my enemies!\" he was, of course, joking—he didn\'t want to evoke fear in anything, but she seemed to u nderstand that.
\"Well, it\'s still cute.\" she grinned. His tail began to swish from side to side, partially of its own accord—it had been stuck and concealed underneath his robes for quite a while. Angie\'s eyes followed it with a great deal of interest. His own found his way along the graceful curves of her stomach and back, and the point where her feathered wings met her back.
\"So ... this is what you do every day?\"
\"Not everyday!\" She blushed again, laying down on the robe off to his side, turning her eyes off to the side to look at his face again. \"Just ... occasionally.\"
\'Occasionally?\" he asked. She hadn\'t sounded very sure of herself when she said it. He turned over and put his hand on the bottom of her chest, walking his clawed fingers down along her stomach.
\"Um...well, never.\" She grinned, giggling from his touch.
\"Me neither,\" he said honestly with a slightly embarrassed look on his face. \"I don\'t really like other virus-types, and...no one else has really given me a chance.\" He smiled, and began moving his claw around her belly-button in small circles.
\"Well, I am.\" she said.
\"I know!\" he answered happily, pushes his head a little bit forward, then, only vaguely knowing what he was doing, opened his mouth and kissed her. She joined him, moaning softly. A feeling of anxiety, happiness, elation, and eagerness formed in his stomach. It was an absolutely wonderful feeling, he had never felt anything like it before in his life.
\"Lex?\" She moaned.
\"Yes?\" Lex answered, flicking his forked tongue over her lips.
\"I...\" she licked her lips where his tongue had touched her, at the same time running her hand down along his front. At that moment, he experienced another feeling that he had never experienced before in his life, either. He just got this...overpowering...feeling that Oliver needed him. He didn\'t know how he knew that, or why, but he did.
\"What\'s wrong?\" she asked, her hand stopping somewhere around the same place that the feeling of anxiety from earlier had surfaced.
\"I ...I don\'t know. I just got the feeling that Oliver needs me.\"
\"Who?\"
\"Oliver. My tamer.\" Saying the words made him smile, but it didn\'t do anything to make the feeling that Oliver needed him go away. He couldn\'t resist it any longer, whether he may have wanted to or not. He put one of his hands on Angie\'s clothes, and teleported the both of them out to where they had last been, clothing included.
\"Lex!\" Oliver\'s voice yelled. He would have turned around to look at his tamer, who was somewhere behind him, but his eyes were far too engaged in what was going on in the air. Jes—at least, what looked like Jes, only much larger, stronger-looking, and much, much, much, angier—was attacking a group of three BlackWarGreymon with her sword. There was no way that this could be good...he just hoped Angie wouldn\'t hold it against him.
\"What did you do?\" he spun around and glared at Oliver.
\"Nothing!\" he answered quickly.
\"She\'s gone crazy,\" Jamie clarified. As if that wasn\'t already obvious from what she was doing.
\"Oliver, what --\"
\"_ War Blaster _!\" the three BlackWarGreymon growled in unison. The attack was obviously directed at the digivolved Jes, but it was also about to hit him, Oliver, and Angie, too.
\"No!\" he yelled, quite determined to stop the attack. \"_ Prohibition Papers! _\" A thousand red papers flew out of his sleeve. Each one impacted into one of the projectiles from the BlackWarGreymon, and each one that did sapped his strength visibly, until he had fallen to his knees, baring his teeth and tightening every muscle in his body to keep from losing consciousness. He was losing.
Angie looked up with fear at the three BlackWarGreymon that had just fired their weapons. She could tell just by looking at Lex that he was strong...but completely neutralizing the attacks of three Megas...she made a small squeaking noise as Lex fell to the ground. She could tell from his body language that he was spent, even though she couldn\'t see one inch of his body. She quickly rushed over to his side and put her hands on his shoulder.
\"Lex!\" she yelled. \"Are you alright?\" She looked down at him concernedly—for a few reasons. For one thing, she had never met anyone who could make her laugh like he did. She didn\'t want to lose him, especially not like this. \"Lex...? Please answer me...\"
\"T-tamer...Oliver...help...\" his voice said weakly.
\"Do something!\" Angie turned around and yelled and who she assumed was Oliver.
\"W-what do I do?\" The human turned to another human standing beside him; Angie assumed that this was Jes\' tamer.
\"Here!\" The other tamer gave Oliver a card, which was promptly thrust through the digivice in his hand. She could feel Lex\'s body grow more stable under her touch, even through his robe, and she removed her hands from his shoulder as he started raising himself up.
\"Use this, too!\"
\"Power?\"
\"Just swipe it!\" He did.
\"Angie...\" Lex said, now back on his feet. \"Stand back.\" The way he said that made her afraid to see what he was going to do next. Without hesitating, she quickly stepped back and watched as he began to trace out two different symbols in the air with his hands at the same time.
\"_ Sin\'s Burden! _\" The name of the attack echoed, making Angie shiver. The things that he had traced in the air disappeared now, but reappeared next to one another on the torsos of the BlackWarGreymon. They couldn\'t move, she realized. They looked like they had just gained a few times their body weight, and were doing everything they could just to keep from falling out of the air.
\"Jes!\" Lex\'s voice said from somewhere behind her. \"Listen to me! Don\'t do something you\'ll regret!\" If \'Jes\'--presumably the large, sword-wielding Digimon bombarding the BlackWarGreymon with small blasts of elemental energy—had heard what Lex said, she either didn\'t care, or wouldn\'t regret doing what she was about to do.
\"_ VIRUS STORM! _\" A large beam of pure blackness—roughly the same color that she saw when she looked into Lex\'s hood—flew out of the bade Jes was holding and slammed into the BlackWarGreymon, vaporizing all three of them instantaneously. Both her and Lex stood in amazement at what she had just done-both at the sheer destructive power she was wielding, and the fact that she was wielding it with what seemed like no hesitation at all. They were completely immobilized, they were basically defenseless there...how could someone do something like that? And Lex...what had he done?
\"J-Jes...\" Lex said. \"Those...those weren\'t wilds...\" Again, Jes seemed to either not hear him, or didn\'t care about what he had to say. But she did answer him this time.
\"SO?!?!\" she growled, flicking some black flecks of something off her sword.
\"Those were three lives you just took, Jes...I stopped them because I didn\'t want them to fight you, not so you could kill them...\" Lex\'s voice trailed off guiltily. \"What have I done?\" he asked himself, in what was just above a whisper. Angie was pretty sure that hadn\'t been meant for her ears.
\"I don\'t care! I \'ll take as many as I have to!\" she snapped. \"And I don\'t need your help, you little magical nitwit!\"
\"Hey!\" Angie said defensively, putting her arms around approximately where his chest was. \"His magic saved my life...\" she gave him a tight hug. Jes simply growled again and walked over by her tamer.
\"Whatever. That\'s your problem.\"
No one said anything for about a minute. Angie was scared as hell, but somehow by clinging onto Lex the way that she was, her fear just kind of...melted away was the best way she could describe it. It was like it was being absorbed into his unending, almost ridiculous happiness.
\"Um...Lex?\" she eventually whispered into where she guessed his ear was past his hood. \"Are you done here? I don\'t think Oliver needs you right this minute anymore.\" she said, again, for more than one reason. For one thing, she wanted to get as far as she could away from Jes, and also because she wanted to get back to what she was doing before with Lex.
\"Hm?\" His concentration must have returned to her in some kind of delayed reaction.
\"Can you ... take us ... back?\" He quickly turned around to face her again.
\"You mean you still want to...to....?\" he asked hopefully, like there was some reason that she should be answering \'no\' to that question.
\"Of course! Why wouldn\'t I?\"
\"Even after I ...\" his face, which she could barely make out through the darkness that was in there, was cast in an incredibly amazed expression. She giggled at him and his expression, then pushed her face into his hood and gave him a little kiss.
\"Wow...\" he said. \"You really...\" He smiled happily, hugged her again, and they were in more or less the same place that they had been before.
\"Oh, Angie...you have no idea what this means to me,\" he said, dripping joy as he clung to her. She was pretty sure that she felt at least one tear of joy fall from his eyes onto her. Again, she giggled. The littlest things made him so happy...well, maybe not the littlest things. This was actually quite a big thing. It made her happy, too. But not in the same way it was making Lex happy. He kept doing that for a little while until he finally settled down and looked up at her from behind his hood. \"...where were we?\"
\"Just before the main event!\" she blushed, imagining what Lex looked like beneath his robes. There was a little flash of light, and before she knew what had happened, they were both completely naked. Lex had even removed the robe from his shoulders, and was using it as something for Angie to lay on. She bit her lip as she looked over his body again. She didn\'t know why he was always hiding it behind that robe, it was very...attractive.
\"Angie?\" he asked as he knelt down. Her stomach jumped as the distance between his erection and her entrance closed, and hovered somewhere around making her swoon when he stopped only inches away from touching her. His voice and breathing pattern were giving away that he was experiencing similar feeling.
\"What is it?\" she answered softly. He just bent over and kissed her, but the verb used to describe it was the only thing it shared in common with the last time. The last time had been happy and playful This one was loving, and caring, and affectionate, and deep...it was too much for her. She moaned softly, closed her eyes, and enjoyed the feelings she was experiencing: her heart was beating faster, her mind was swimming with anxiety and desire, and a growing wetness began to form between her legs. Something brushed against her entrance and she shuddered, pulling away from the kiss and giving an audible moan.
\"Ooh, Lex,\" she said, spreading her legs apart for him without opening her eyes. She felt something tickling her crotch, making her shudder...then it pushed inside of her. She moaned and slipped her hands up over his arms, feeling the texture of his scales as he started moving against her. The smallest movement on either of their parts brought waves of excitement and pleasure to her. She could feel resistance somewhere inside of her for a few moments, until she could feel something tear. She whimpered a little from the pain.
\"Angie?\" he asked. \"Are you alright?\" His face hovered over hers concernedly. She answered him with a simple giggle.
\"Just ... get busy with it!\" she blushed again, slowly inching herself onto Lex\'s dick. As she did, she could feel his tail tighten around her leg. His movement against her started up again, and she moaned as Lex moved farther into her than anything else had ever before. \"Mmmm...\" She pushed herself farther up along Lex. His hips thrust, moving against her over and over again. The tip of his dick was moving almost her entrance itself along and against the entire length of her insides, then moving all the way back and repeating the motion.
\"Ah-ah...Angie...\"
\"Aaah, yes, that\'s great...\" He was sliding hard and quick against her now, his tail wound tightly around her leg. The blood that he had brought forth from inside of her was now lubricating the movement of Lex\'s rod, but it didn\'t stop her from feeling anything. With hard, irregular breaths, she found herself approaching peak. A small orgasm racked her body, in anticipation of a much larger one that was soon to follow. \"Ooooh, Lex....I\'m gonna....\"
Lex\'s body slumped over her, driving his dick even farther into her just before he came inside of her. It was a very fulfilling feeling, having that warmth drive itself into, and then explode in, yourself. That was it. She couldn\'t take any more.
\"LEX!\" she cried out his name, reaching her own climax and closing her eyes tightly against the sensation. Shudder after shudder held her body hostage, until she finally settled down and curled her legs up a little, easing Lex out of her with a little gasp as he moved around inside of her.
\"Ooooh, Angie ... that ... wonderful,\" Lex panted, throwing his arm over her and pulling her tightly against him. She giggled at the amazed expression on his face. She hadn\'t done this before, either, but she wasn\'t wearing the same expression he was. But, still...it didn\'t take much to make him happy. And the knowledge that she was making him happy , in return, made her happ
\"Mmm...Lex.\" She smiled, embracing him once again, feeling the rough textures of his scales against her body. Every time it moved, it tickled her. Eventually, her mind couldn\'t take it any longer, and she broke down giggling madly, drawing his attention.
\"What\'s so funny?\" He asked.
\"Everything. Me...you...us...\" her laughter died down, and she closed her eyes, devoting her mind to enjoying the feeling of being pressed up against Lex. She had never known anyone like him before. He was so...happy. Normally, she wasn\'t a very giddy person herself, but with Lex, it was almost contagious, being around him. She liked it. She liked him...
One of Lex\'s hand locked into hers, then something wind around their arms, joining them together. Angie looked down to see the two of them holding each other\'s hand, with Lex\'s tail wrapped around it from the elbow up. She giggled again despite herself.
\"Now what it is?\"
\"You\'re just so cute!\" He smiled back at her, looking even cuter.
\"Angie?\"
\"Hrrm?\"
\"I\'ve never told this to anyone before,\" he said, resting his head on her chest. \"But...I\'m in love,\" he said the last part in a whisper, looking directly at her eyes. The word sent a shiver up her spine, which was quickly replaced by a warm, tingly sensation coming from her chest—and it wasn\'t her lover\'s head.
\"Oh, Lex!\" she said happily, pulling his head tightly against her. \"I...I think I am, too!\" She rocked his body gently back and forth in her arms. They laid there for a while—Lex eventually pulled his cloak and robe over them like a blanket—holding each other and marveling at how they had been brought together. Lex seemed happier than ever.
What seemed like hours passed between them until Lex began to look off into the distance more and more—it wasn\'t the same urgent gaze that he had before when Oliver needed him, but it compensated by being much more sad.
\"I\'m sure your tamer is waiting for you, Lex,\" she said.
\"I know,\" he said, sounding very depressed. \"But I don\'t want to leave you,\" he said, clinging to her.
\"There\'s no way you\'re leaving me!\" She giggled.
\"I want to stay, Angie. But how? My tamer--\"
\"No, no;\" She smiled at him. \"There\'s no way you\'re leaving me ... because I\'m coming with you!\" she smiled, hugging him.
\"Really?\" he asked excitedly. \"You are?\"
\"I am!\" she poked her tongue out at Lex. \"And there\'s nothing that you can do to stop me.\"
\"Oh, Angie!\" Lex clung to his new lover even tighter. \"Thank you, thank you, thank you!\" This was the best day of his life...he had met two humans, found out that one of them was his tamer, and fallen in love...and now the person he loved was going to come with him! It was too much for his regularly pessimistic mind to handle. He quickly stood up, dressed himself, pulled Angie up from the ground and spun the both of them around in a circle. He was so lucky. He was so lucky, he didn\'t know what to do with himself.
\"We should go tell Oliver!\" Angie told him, once he finally let go of her.
\"Alright!\" Grinning, he tried to picture what Oliver\'s reaction what be. When he couldn\'t come conclusively to a decision about what it would look like, he flipped his hood back up and teleported back to where the others had been before. He grabbed onto Angie\'s hand, pulling it into the sleeve of his robe, dragging her all the way over to Oliver.
\"Hey-Oliver-Oliver!\" He spoke quickly, his excitement turning whole sentences into single, only barely divided words. \"Guess-what-guess-what-Angie\'s-going-to-come-with-us!\"
\"That\'s great, Lex...\" Oliver said half-heartedly, like he wasn\'t really paying attention. He looked like he was watching Jes and Jamie, who were off to the side, talking about something.
\"Great?\" he asked, much slower. \"Just great?\"
\"What? I ... ah, Lex, that\'s wonderful!\" Oliver grinned at him, looking over the Angewomon a few moments before getting serious again. \"So...um, you two. I know it\'s probably not my place, but...did you two.............?\"
Lex stared blankly at Oliver, not understanding the question that he was posing. Angie seemed to know what he meant, though—she grinned, giggled, slid her hands around his neck, and nodded at his tamer.
\"If you guys don\'t mind, guys...I\'d like to get going from here as quickly as possible,\" Jamie said. He looked a little bit nervous. Lex didn\'t blame really blame him—after all, his Digimon had just killed three of the city\'s citizens.
\"Where are we going?\" Angie asked the left side of his head.
\"The Real World!\" He responded. At this, Angie\'s face got a little paler than it had before, her eyes widened, and she bit down on her upper lip. That look worried Lex—he didn\'t know what it meant. He quickly turned the rest of his body around to face her, flipped his hood back down, and grabbed both of her hands with concern. \"Is that a problem?\"
\"No, silly,\" she answered, the look on her face returned to normal. \"I\'m just...amazed. It isn\'t everyday I get to go to the real world,\" she let go of his hands and put hers on his shoulder. \"Especially with someone like you.\" She hugged him.
\"... Are we going to leave, or are we just going to stand here staring at some lizard all day?\" Jes said from somewhere behind him. Lex realized that he had taken his hood off and moved quickly to replace it, feeling a little hurt at what she had said.
\"HEY!\" A defensive yell from Angie fought for him where he wouldn\'t fight himself.
\" WHAT?! \" Jes growled. Lex sighed, turned around, and looked away from everybody.
\"Don\'t call him that!\"
\"Bah.\" Lex heard Jes\' feet slide against the ground as she turned around, presumably facing the humans again. He kept looking away from everyone else, not really knowing what he was supposed to do. It had almost been easier when he just ignored or ran away from everything. He couldn\'t do that anymore, though. He was too attached, especially to Oliver and Angie. \"I\'ll call the little gecko whatever I want!\" Lex twitched again at the insult. It wasn\'t that it hurt his feelings directly—he was far too hardened from life\'s hardships for something like that to bother him. But it reminded him that he couldn\'t get away from who, or what he was, even if he knew people. That bothered him. He sniffled a little bit, holding back a few tears. He wished that he had a spell to changes his physical form, but that was one of the things that was beyond even his art. He wished that he could be more like Angie...where he could walk around and openly and be himself. Even though he had friends, a tamer, and someone to love...there was still someone who didn\'t like him. Oh, well...he was used to that. Actually...he wasn\'t. He was used to Digimon he didn\'t know giving him that as their default reaction to him. He wasn\'t used to getting it from people he knew. Even though Jes probably didn\'t know it ... she had hurt him deeper than she could know. Deeper than anything, really. When total strangers insulted or attacked him, he could chalk it up to ignorance on their part and tell himself that they didn\'t really know him, because if they did, they wouldn\'t have done it. But to have someone he did know say something like that...he sniffled again, trying his best to keep from crying.
\"Stop it!\" Angie yelled at Jes again, as if she could somehow sense his thoughts and feelings.
\"Angie, don\'t...\" Lex said sadly. \"It\'s not a problem,\" he lied. \"I\'m used to it.\"
\"Hmph.\" Jes snorted angrily, her feet swishing again as she turned around.
\"Aww, Lex...\" Angie said reproachingly, putting her arms around him. Jes snorted angrily, her feet swishing again as she turned around. For the first time, Lex didn\'t hug her back.
\"Okay...now you\'re scaring me!\" She hugged him a little tighter. He didn\'t have the enthusiasm to hug her back, so he just hung there, limply, getting a little solace from her embrace. That wasn\'t enough for Angie, though. She smiled at him, flicked his hood back down with one of her fingers, and made a soft cooing sound. That sound made him smile a little bit, and when he did, Angie moved her face closer to his and kissed him. He kissed her back weakly, still wondering what it was she saw in him. The Magusmon closed his eyes for a few moments to enjoy the sensation. When he did, he felt a hand push past his robe onto his chest and start moving down his stomach.
\"H-hey! W-w-what are you doing?\" he asked, giggling a little from the touch.
\"Just embarassing your tamer.\"
\"Uh...no, not really...\" Oliver said weakly. His face had long since flushed. Everyone was staring at them—Jes looked especially disturbed. Lex sighed and turned his head, looking away from everyone again.
\"Thanks,\" he said to Angie, \"but...\"
\"Lex...\" Angie\'s expression turned to something between sadness and guilt. Lex\'s gaze shifted down to the silhouette of his scaled, draconian hands against Angie\'s exposed stomach. They were so different...could they really love each other, or was this just a temporary fluke? He certainly didn\'t know. Tears began welling up behind his eyes again, and he didn\'t know if he could stop them this time. He flinched a little bit as Angie grabbed one of his hands in hers and smiled at him cutely. That was it. He threw himself onto her shoulder and started sobbing openly and without restraint.
\"Oh, Lex...it\'s alright,\" she rubbed the top of his head gently. She did love him, didn\'t she? She wouldn\'t be doing this if she didn\'t. It didn\'t matter that she wasn\'t the same type he was. It didn\'t matter that they were different n almost every possible way. And it didn\'t matter what Jes thought about him—he didn\'t love Jes. He did, however, love Angie. And she loved him. That realization slowly lowered his sob to a sniffle, and he looked up at her, his eyes still a little wet.
\"Are you feeling better?\"
\"Y-yeah,\" he answered. \"It\'s just....I don\'t really like the way I am...sometimes, I wish I were more...well...more like you...\"
\"Aw, don\'t be silly. You\'re cute!\" Lex smiled.
\"That\'s not what Jes thinks...\"
\"Maybe not, but Jes isn\'t that nice,\" she said, looking over where she was before. \"Where\'d she go?\" Lex quickly turned his head to see where she was looking.
\"Oliver\'s gone, too...\"
The only person left was Jamie, who was wearing a very, very fearful look.
