Kyurex (Pokemon): Part 23 - A trip down Memory Lane - The Love I lost
#23 of Kyurex
Oooooh!!!! Damn!!
Yo. Here....I...present you with a new chapter. I know man, I took a long break but hey, I had to ^^
This is the last A Trip down Memory Lane chapter.
Enjoy!!
MasterG
One week had passed since the "date" Kyurex attended with Angel. And after all that had happened, one could think they were as good as a couple, but no, things only got worse.
The behavior stayed the same. She didn't allow Kyurex to come too close and as soon as the subject was something regarding the two, she wouldn't talk about it. But the funny thing was that she was still kind and didn't point out the fact that she didn't want anything from him.
It was just....totally weird. Kyurex thought that the words he had heard back at the waterfalls carried a meaning.
But he wasn't really sure about that anymore.
On top of everything Angel started to take her distance, hanging with Kyurex and Co less often.
"Man I just don't get it..."
Kyurex sighed. He and Flak were approaching the school place.
"You know...I'm slowly starting to believe you." Flak seriously said. Kyurex was a bit annoyed.
"It's true!!"
"But it doesn't make sense, it's obvious and- ah man...."
Flak shook his head.
"You should of considered dating her when she was nuts about you, I mean really nuts..."
Kyurex felt it again, the worst type of regret he had ever carried upon himself. Flak hit the mark.
Ahh....man back then it would of been as easy as eating berries!
Kyurex hated it. He always remembered the short scenes from the past reminding him how badly Angel tried to get his attention, and also reminding him how he didn't care about it. That was something he could hit himself for now.
"At the end it can only mean one thing anyway, she isn't going to be my girlfriend-"
"Nananaaa.....don't tell me you're giving up Kyu? What's up with that? Come on man, just grab her and kiss her or something, but don't let her go if she means something to you. Besides, think of it this way, if you don't win her, could you live with the fact that someone else does it because you gave up?"
Kyurex digested the information, and after thinking about it gulped.
"Flak, you definitely think about this stuff too much..."
He smiled. The Eevee was impressed how true Flaks words were. He thought about it.
His hatred escalated just by imagining someone next to Angel. Strangely enough he would only imagine those who he thought were slightly admired by Angel. But he felt much better after telling himself that he, no matter their relation at the moment, stood by far closest to her then any other male could possibly dream of.
"Oh shwuups...I guess it's "typical us" today after all..." Flak said, giving Kyurex a grin.
Kyurex still had to snap out from his thinking, but as soon as he did he understood what Flak meant.
An angry Noctowl stared down at them. Kyurex was so busy thinking just a moment ago that he didn't fully realize that they were at school already. Somehow the quantity of students was much larger then usual. About 6 meters away from his own class was another, though this group seemed to be mixed with all kinds of Pokemon. Machop, Geodude, Ekans and so on.
"Hello you two. Congratulations, today you managed to hold up two classes instead of one, that's a progress. I guess detention will be approved even by you. I can understand Flak, but Kyurex? I thought I said that today a fellow teacher would perform the lesson with me. You should know better than to embarrass me..."
Mr.Blugsdorn lectured the two Eevees while sitting on a Tauros's horn. Kyurex and Flak stood not far away from their classmates, of which the majority were pissed off at them as usual.
Both of them looked at the ground, and Kyurex eventually looked up into his teachers eyes.
"I'm sorry Mr.Blugsdorn, I don't have any excuses, I was simply late..."
The Noctowl sighed. The Tauros smiled, looking at the two Eevees.
"Come on, you can't be so harsh on them. After all, you weren't the perfect student either-"
"OK, OK OK!! You two, join your class...eh..." The Noctowl sighed again just for the sake of it, while Kyurex and Flak enjoyed getting away so easy. The others didn't greet them kindly.
"As I said before, this is Mr.Gyorg, me and him will be lecturing together today. Both of our classes will be studying as one today. Now last week you were all told to prepare for a Battle Test..."
All the students starting talking to each other. Flak smiled at Kyurex.
"All right! We get to fight some foreigners!" he whispered in a quiet tone. His friend smirked. There was absolutely nothing Kyurex enjoyed more. Battling.
"OK quiet down please..." The Noctowl made sure everyone listened. Kyurex started to observe the other class. They seemed to be well prepared. "Me and Mr.Gyorg will choose one of our students who will then face each other in battle. Mr.Gyorg will start."
Silence fell. Everyone was excited. Who would it be?
The Tauros didn't even bother observing his class.
"Galiar...You're up."
After some silence a small creature stepped forward, moving into position. A Cubone.
Everyone observed.
"Your turn, friend..." The Tauros smirked. He was definitely confident, meaning he had chosen a powerful opponent.
Mr.Blugsdorn on the other hand didn't show any sign of being nervous. He was all too confident himself.
The Eevee class started to whisper wildly:
"Ahh no.....it's obvious..."
"Teachers pet..."
"Wow, I bet you I know who will get chosen"
And so on....
Mr.Blugsdorn tried to make the impression as if he was choosing carefully, but he himself knew who he had to choose.
"Kyurex."
The Eevee was dozing off, but as soon as he heard Mr.Blugsdorns voice he immediately made his way through the crowd of Eevees. The look most gave him while he walked by was typical.
Kyurex approached his teacher. He immediately acknowledged the fact that Angel was probably watching, which made him feel kind of proud that he could show off.
"Just a second please..." Mr.Blugsdorn excused himself before the others.
The Noctowl flew down in front of the Eevee, taking him away to the side. There was obviously something he wanted to tell him.
"Listen, you can't lose this battle...I made a bet okay? Now don't mess up!" The Noctowl said as quietly as he could so only Kyurex could hear.
The Eevee smiled.
"Will you tell me more about the Dark Type evolution then?"
The teacher was struck by panic. It was a constant subject Kyurex always bugged him about. He couldn't afford to lose time because the others patiently waited. He cursed.
"Damn it!" he gave it a thought. He really hated the idea of telling Kyurex all about Umbreons, but he hated the idea of losing even more.
"OK! It's a deal!" The Noctowl snapped and walked back to his friend. Kyurex walked into his position while everyone else asked themselves the same question: What were they talking about?
"OK, Get ready you two, I'll give you 3 minutes to observe and prepare..."
Kyurex felt the pressure in his paws. There was nothing more exciting than facing an unknown to him opponent. The Cubone gripped his bone.
The Eevee was overflowing with thoughts. The best feeling was that his classmates were watching and if he was totally honest, there was nothing more pleasing than showing off in front of Angel. He expected no failure from himself, only an elegant victory.
The thing that gave him confidence was that he knew that he was prepared, he almost only lived because of the thought that he could battle and improve. It was exactly that which made him such a hard being to approach, because he was constantly occupied with his training, or sleeping.
He could hear both groups speaking and knew that the highlight was on him and the Cubone. There was no option but to win: Plus, he was already dying for a long time to get the information he wanted from Mr.Blugsdorn.
OK, if I remember right, the bone is a remarkable destructive force even when thrown. I guess he'll stick to his distance so he can throw that thing. The chance of separating him from his weapon is quite low because he's definitely a skilled user...I've got to think of a plan.
He observed his surroundings. The terrain was simple land. The trees were a bit too far to be used as cover. This was definitely going to be tricky.
Looks like it's going to be a "Shoot the Target" type of battle. Then I'll just have to use my speed and couple it up with my endurance...and try to take him out...
The Noctowl looked suspiciously. The rest watched, secretly cheering for their classmate to win.
"The Cubone looks like he's got the stuff, but I mean if you think about it...it's Kyu, the definition of battling itself." Flak chatted with his buddies Mat and Ekmoris. He then noticed that somebody was shoving to get into the front line.
"Angel?"
The female Eevee looked surprised, but still stood next to Flak. She wasn't expecting to meet him and looked a little away. Angel felt awkward because she had gone out of Kyurexs and Cos way in the past week.
"Hey..."
Flak didn't bother asking, though he himself missed Angels presence. He was sure it had something to do with Kyurex but it wasn't his business to butt in. He smiled. Ekmoris stood on Angels left side while Flak was on the right. All were eager to watch the battle.
"Must be awesome knowing that your boyfriend is battling in front of class, the girls will go crazy if he wins-"
"Flak!!"
Ekmoris, Mat and Flak all smirked. Angel on the other hand looked quite annoyed, but Flak thought of it as a good opportunity to make a show.
Something else was pushing its way to the front.
"Ey! Let me-"
Flak got pushed to the side a little. It was another fellow classmate, Angels good friend Lucy. She was a stubborn, caring type, but never arrogant. She would always love to help out her friends when needed.
"Chill! What are you shoving me for?" Flak asked. Lucy ignored him, looking at Angel.
"The Cubone looks impressive." She remarked, knowing that Angel wouldn't like what she said.
"Kyui is better." Angel simply answered. Lucy and even Flak had to grin. Somehow they couldn't stop admiring the love the two shared and found it amusing that both weren't going out together.
Mr.Blugsdorn looked at Mr.Gyorg, receiving a nod as response.
"OK, on the count of three." He looked at the two students, who got ready.
"One....two....three!!"
Kyurex focused his eyes on the opponent, knowing that he couldn't strike first from such a distance because he would risk getting hit by a ranged attack. To his surprise the Cubone didn't throw his weapon, but started to run towards him.
Damn it! I can't dodge if he gets too close!
Kyurex lifted his paw, listening to his instincts, and slid it across the ground, unleashing a Sand Attack. It wasn't enough to confuse the opponent, who didn't stop so the Eevee continued to kick up dust.
Uh...now I can't really see him myself...
He looked in front of him, expecting the Cubone to appear. Instead, something came flying with incredible speed not giving him a chance to avoid the attack.
"Uhh!!" The bone hit the Eevee right into his chest. The force was to much for Kyurex to withstand, making him fall backwards while the tool kept on flying forwards.
"Kyuii!!" Angel gasped. The whole class whispered to one another, still focusing there eyes on the battle. Flak was also a bit nervous, but he was still confident.
"Don't worry...you know him, he'll just come back harder."
Just as Kyurex felt the unpleasant pain, he heard the sound of the spinning weapon again.
Damn this!
He swiftly rolled over, dodging successfully. Without hesitation he summoned his will power to get up, assuming that his opponent would use the move again.
The dust between the two cleared, revealing the Cubone, who was holding his bone again. Kyurex gritted his teeth. He desperately needed a plan.
The Cubone jumped forward, preventing the Eevee to think about his intentions and with a cry, swung his bone.
Bone Club!
Kyurex swiftly stepped back, making the bone crush into the ground right before him. The Cubone continued to try and hit the Eevee, making Kyurex retreat while using his speed to avoid the bone.
*Bump*
It was only now that he realized how close he was to a tree, because now he was pinned to one. The Cubone smirked, lifting his bone.
Quick Attack!
Due to the small distance between them, the impact caught the Cubone by surprise, making him fall a few meters backwards. Kyurex stood still, noticing that the Cubone managed to land on his feet.
What an opponent...
The Cubone glared. Kyurex could feel his frustration. The bone left the Cubones paw once again.
Kyurex quickly pressed his body against the ground, avoiding the bone by an inch. The weapon hit the tree with immense force, causing it to backfire. The Cubone didn't expect Kyurex to able to dodge, so he was unprepared to try and grip his weapon while it flew with such speed back at him.
"Huh!" he barely could stop his own tool, nearly losing his balance. Kyurex used the opportunity to try and tackle, leaping towards his enemy. It was too late, the Cubone grinned.
Boneclub!
Severe pain spread through Kyurexs right shoulder. His body got rammed into the ground.
Angel yelped. Flak held her back from sprinting onto the battlefield.
"Angel calm down! He's going to be alright!" Flak sternly said, feeling uneasy himself.
Ekmoris shook his head.
"Never thought this could happen to Kyu." he remarked. The whispering in their group got louder.
Kyurex opened his eyes, feeling the deep pain. Nevertheless he tried to stand up. Most of his classmates sighed in relief as soon as they noticed that he was still able to go on. The opponents classmates were all smirking and cheering silently. The Cubone looked pleased, standing about five meters away from Kyuex. He figured the Eevee was done for either way, so he didn't bother to attack immediately.
This guy...
Kyurex didn't experience this feeling much, it was of upmost rarity that he got aggressive, but he couldn't lose in front of his class, and especially not in front of Angel. The smirk on the Cubones face didn't make the situation better.
"Do you give up?"
It was the first time that the Cubone had spoken since their encounter. Kyurex ignored the question, lifting his head up.
"What the?"
Kyurex surprised everyone as he dashed forward, growling. He did his best to just not acknowledge his pain. He was going to win no matter the cost.
Quick Attack...
The Cubone fell to the ground. Kyurex landed on his paws, not hesitating to face his opponent again.
"Now thats more like it...." Ekmoris chuckled. Both classes were surprised.
The Cubone tried to get up, but there was no stopping the Eevee now. Kyurex rushed.
Tackle.
The Cubone managed to somehow stay on his feet.
Now or never....
Takedown!
"Unngh!" The Cubone gave out a painful cry. Kyurex wasn't heavy, but his weight was enough to cause remarkable damage to his opponent. They both slid across the ground until they came to a sudden halt, making the dust rise.
"Phew...." Kyurex let out his exhaustion. Both classes watched, amazed by the Eevees incredible speed.
"Woah..." Flak eyes grew big. "Damn...thats what I call a knock out."
Flak looked around suspiciously from behind a tree, making sure he made enough space for Kyurex so that his friend would remain unseen.
"OK, looks good...Mat just went that way with Clev...lets go!" He gave Kyurex a questioning look. Kyurex was obviously not in the mood.
He, Flak and the rest of the gang had decided to use the weekend time to play "The Searcher", shortly said a finding type of game with two teams.
Kyurex sighed. Flak knew that his friend was forcing himself to seem ok.
But before he could say anything...
"Ey guys!! Time out!! I need a rest already!!" Mat was back where Flak had seen just before.
"What? Come on...It's just the third round!!" Flak, unwillingly, left his hiding place, steadily walking towards Mat. Kyurex was relieved to finally have a break and followed. He wasn't enjoying the time at all, and he knew it was all because his mind couldn't leave him alone with the one thought that had a seemingly endless loop in his head. Angel.
Slowly everybody gathered in a circle, coming from their hiding places. They were a total of 9.
Ekmoris lightly poked Mat with his paw.
"Loser..."
Mat simply smirked. He wasn't the type to react to such things.
"Just because you and Craig suck...What's the matter?" Flak was really hyped up, but knew that he was alone with the wish to continue. The hot sun and the constant activity made everyone too tired to play. Mat lay down.
"I'm taking a break..." he announced quietly. The others agreed, and everybody joined to rest.
"Man...We've got a Battle Test tomorrow..." someone remembered.
"Oh man, don't start with that..." Flak didn't want to think about it. Nor did the others actually. After some time discussing other things, Ekmoris noticed Kyu, and smiled.
"By the way, Kyu, what's up with you and Angel? I thought you two had a thing going on?"
Everyone else fell silent, slowly turning their attention to Kyurex, who was a little surprised by the sudden question. The Eevee looked around, not knowing exactly what to say.
"What? What makes you say that?" Kyurex asked. Flak looked worried, he knew he had to help his friend. He simulated a cough.
"Man Angel and Kyu are just good friends Ek, don't try spreading rumors now as if they are in love or something...everyone knows they just hang around, and I should know...I'm his best bud."
Flak grinned. No one disagreed, and Kyurex felt like a boulder weighing some tons just rolled of his shoulders. Ekmoris looked a bit suspicious but eventually seemed to believe Flaks words. He shook his head a bit.
"Ah, ok...." Ekmoris lay onto his back, letting out a sigh. "Well anyway, I heard Angel is dating Kobri. And I personally don't get how the hell something like that is going to work, I mean guys, Kobri, the one that hangs onto Bull as if he's his father or something."
Kyurex didn't want to believe what he heard, after all, out of all who were present, he and Flak knew Angel best and would definitely know about something major like her dating someone. But then there was the fact that he and Flak had little to do with her the past week. This made him feel somehow uneasy but he played casual in front of the gang, knowing that a slight mistake and rumors about him liking Angel would hit everyone.
Flak watched Kyurex for a moment, and before anyone could do the same he simulated another cough, drawing the attention to himself.
"What? Ek, from where did you get this info?" Flak asked in a irritating, dramatic voice. The others chuckled at the look on Flaks face.
"Jeneta told me so-"
"Hahahahaha!! EK, tell me you're joking!!" Flak felt a bit relieved, and even Kyurex now garnered hope that this was all just a stupid rumor.
"What?" Ekmoris kept to his serious tone. The others carefully listened.
"You believed her?" Mat interfered.
"No, but then I asked Kisken and she said it's true. She even said she was with them on their first meeting."
"WHAT!!? Kisken doesn't lie...." Flaks smile vanished. Ekmoris shook his head.
"That's the point. You think I would've believed Jeneta? Tsuh, that's like lying to yourself!"
"I think it's true. I saw them together, yesterday I think..." Someone from the gang added.
Kyurex and Flak exchanged eye contact.
"Man....what a stupid day." Kyurex walked into his Cave, baring a sad look on his face. He hated the fact that he let himself fall in love with someone, despising the feelings he held inside his heart for Angel. It made him feel weak, and he, of all beings, hated weakness. He couldn't believe that he lost to a female who tricked him to believe that she adores him.
To his surprise his mum wasn't home yet.
He abruptly collapsed on the pile of leaves he called his bed. This was exactly what he needed. Darkness, silence, and privacy.
Ah man, everything sucks...and why him, huh? Am I not good enough? We went out together, we've had fun together, she used to adore me more than anyone else!! Ah yeah, it's my damn fault, for not acting back then! Yeah...that's what I get for being ignorant. I just want to sleep now...
It was late in the afternoon. His friends were probably still hanging out but he didn't feel like it at all. He still didn't want to believe the story, but he felt like it was true, because Ekmoris wouldn't of said it in such a serious tone if it wasn't true.
"I've got to do something!!" Kyurex got up, standing on all fours as if getting prepared to battle. His thoughts didn't leave him alone, and he just couldn't let the situation stay like it was. Something had to be done.
"Yo Kyu, you were like, damn!! We totally showed them where its at! Haha!" Blaze laughed, approaching the Eevee after saying goodbye to his Nuzleaf friends. They had played a game of ball. The ball was made of flexible branches from trees.
This was what Kyurex thought would be helpful. Spending his time with a good friend. The Houndour noticed that Kyurex, even though he played a splendid match just some minutes ago, wasn't all that happy.
"Yo bro, you seem kinda sad man. Somethin is botherin you, right?" He asked. Kyurex tried to laugh it off.
"You're imagining things as usual Blaze."
"And where's Angel?" The Houndour asked. Kyurex knew that Blaze was implying something. The Eevee sat lay down, wanting to rest a bit. The sun was slowly disappearing.
"Don't know. Probably with her new boyfriend." Kyurex said, feeling a bit uneasy. Blaze's eyes widened.
"What!!?? And you guys didn't tell me!!??" He overreacted. After noticing Kyurexs facial expression, he knew that it was probably Angel who was the cause for his friends depression.
"Damn, I always thought that she only liked you. Guess I have to say I'm a bit surprised."
This didn't make it any easier for Kyurex. Blaze just told him what he thought himself. The Houndour lay down next to him.
"So who got lucky? Someone from your class?"
"Yeah..."
Silence. Blaze thought on the new info, and Kyurex just waited for something to distract his mind.
"Well, lets go and beat him up then. Thats the only way to go here."
Kyurex had to smile. It was typical Blaze.
Some distant cries, the mellow wind, and some chirping was all that Kyurex could hear, laying peacefully in the field.
Suddenly, somewhere near, a laugh could be heard. Kyurexs ears twitched. This was a familiar voice.
"Huh?" Blaze got up. "Let me check."
He ran into some nearby bushes, disappearing.
Hmm, I must've been imagining things, damn I think so much about Angel even other creatures sound like her to me.
"Kyu!! Quick!! It's Angel and some whacko!!" Blaze appeared again, looking shocked. Kyurexs heart felt like it jumped to his throat.
"Quick! Lets spy on them from the bushes!" Blaze swiftly jumped into the bushes that where near Kyurex. The Eevee did the same. After being sure that they couldn't be seen they carefully focused onto the place from where Blaze had just appeared a moment ago.
"Any second now..." Blaze whispered. Kyurex somehow felt the adrenaline level rise. He was going to see the truth himself. "You were right dude."
Suddenly, something jumped out of the bushes. It was Kobri. Kyurex felt anger arise. The one being who he was hoping not to meet followed. Angel.
"Speak of the devil. What are they doing this late?" Blaze whispered.
Both of them watched. The two Eevees only seemed to occasionally exchange smiles and chat about something Kyurex couldn't hear.
It was painful to watch, because now there was no denial. The truth was the truth. The smile on Angels face was like fuel for Kyurexs inner rage.
"Damn it..." Kyurex gritted his teeth. All the thoughts in his head now turned to revenge, he only felt some kind of weird hatred towards the girl he so adored not long ago. "So I'm the loser here. We'll see about that."
Blaze chewed on a branch.
"So, you want to go and beat him up now?"
"I was so pawning Mat yesterday like, every time he would hide I found him first! Haha!!"
Flak and Kyurex were on their way to school after visiting Mats home and finding out that he was sick. Kyurex acted like he was listening but it was only half true. He was also using his thoughtful mind to create a plan for his revenge.
"By the way, about the thing that Ek said. You think it's true?" Flak asked, not being aware of Kyurexs little adventure the day before. Kyurex had told him that he was going to home to go sleep a bit earlier. He sighed.
"Who cares..."
Flak could feel his friends depression, so he didn't act surprised.
"Dude, I know It may be painful, but maybe this all has to do something with her acting weird an stuff, like not wanting to be close to you? I don't know..."
Yes, Kyurex had also thought about that. It was like everything began to make sense, but in a way Kyurex had hoped it would not.
"She could've at least told me...whatever. She played with me, and I absolutely hate that. I should've known better."
Flak felt a bit weird, like something was not right. Kyurex acted totally isolated and mysterious, which was usually not the case.
"Kyu, just, don't do anything you'll regret later on, ok?" Flak said. "And I know it might be a wrong time to say this but, don't give up just yet..."
"Oh, so I should try and get her to like me? You really think I'm spending any more strength on her? What a joke!"
"Anybody would do that for someone they truly love." Flak felt like speaking about himself, because he was in a similar situation. His tone turned into a whisper. "You should decide for yourself, personally I think you shouldn't give up."
"I never loved her, I never claimed to love her, I only admired her, ok? I'm not a sucker for some childish love games, okay? Why am I constantly surrounded by this topic anyway."
it was obvious that Kyurex was angry and not telling the truth, but Flak decided to stay quiet and to let his friend cool down. He could somehow relate to what he was experiencing at the moment.
"We've got History class. And I haven't learned anything about the War of Freedom!!" Flak remembered that they had other problems beside relationships. Kyurex wasn't really bothered, because he knew everything about the topic due to his curiosity. Due to his private lessons with Mr.Blugsdorn he knew an awful lot.
After another ten minutes they arrived at the place. All of their classmates were separated in small groups were they all discussed various news with each other.
Kyurex and Flak searched for their gang, joining Ekmoris a soon as they saw him. Flak cheerfully joined the discussion while Kyurex secretly set his eyes on Angel, watching her smile as she spoke with her friends. Everything made him feel sad, and angry, even the fact that Angel was acting so casual.
I feel for you like for no one else....what a joke!! Ah, man...why am I terrorized by this...damn it Angel...
Kyurex understood that he was probably seriously in love with her, and only noticed it by the amount of jealousy the whole situation spawned inside him. But he would never admit it, because that would mean defeat.
"OK Class.... Gather round and keep the tone down!!"
Kyurex and his Classmates never seized to be amazed by Mr.Greens sudden appearance. He was very, very mysterious, and nobody knew anything specific about him, even his family.
Flak gulped.
"Please, let me be spared by questions today...."
Kyurex, having been up for most of the night while hanging out with Blaze was unusually tired. Lucky for him Mr.Green didn't bother asking him anything about the topic they were currently studying.
"Flak...what was the name of the General who lead the first attack against the Second Island?" Mr.Greens eyes focused on the Eevee. Flak desperately looked around, starting to feel embarrassed.
"Eh..."
Kyurex had to grin, but he knew he couldn't let his friend down. He whispered.
"Lord of the Unknown...Only a few knew his real name, and nobody knows what species he was."
Flak carefully listened to Kyurex while trying to maintain a "thinking" kind of expression on his face. Mr.Green raised an eyebrow.
"Eh...It was Lord of the Unknown, because he was like...really secretive and stuff. He wasn't a species..." Flak stuttered. "I mean...No one knew about his species or what species he was. And his name....yeah."
The whole class watched Flak, making him feel uneasy. He knew that they were all well aware that Kyurex had told him everything. It was nothing new.
"Thank you Kyurex. That is absolutely correct."
Flaks classmates, naturally, all chuckled. He on the other hand wasn't pleased.
"Really funny guys..."
Mr.Green didn't waist time, jumping up on top of a big branch of a nearby tree.
"Now you can all divide yourself up into 6 groups. I want each of you to discuss this top and prepare yourself to be questioned at the end of the lesson. Please be aware little ones, that stunts like Flak just so kindly performed will not be tolerated. This is general knowledge you all will need to progress in the future. Now start with your task."
The crowd turned noisy and all the Eevees started to mix up, searching for partners they preferred to be with. Kyurex, like always, just stayed there laying on the grass knowing that his classmates would come to him themselves.
"Yo Kyu, anyone you'd like to work with buddy?" Flak asked grinning. "Ek! Come on over!"
"Sure thing...where's Mat by the way?" Ekmoris asked, walking through the noisy crowd. Flak sighed.
"He's sick..."
"What, again? How does he pull it off that easy?"
"Hey guys, mind if me and Lucy join you?"
Kyurexs ears perked up for a moment. It was Angel, looking as energetic as ever with her friend Lucy. His bad mood returned almost instantly. Flak was aware. He gave Kyurex a short glance, and then, to not raise suspicion, answered.
"Of course my lady. Haven't seen you in a while. Hey Lucy."
Angel smiled.
"I know. I've been busy and stuff. Hey Kyuiii!!"
Not knowing why everyone did so, Kyurex noticed that he was being served attention by all present. He closed his eyes.
"Hi." He said, sounding like he wasn't interested at all. Flak simulated, yet another cough.
"Well isn't he tired?" The smile was fake, but it kept Angel from suspicion. She turned her to the side, still eyeing Kyurex.
"Again? Did you go last night out again without telling me Kyuui?"
Kyurex waited for a while, feeling somehow disgusted.
"Yeah I was out last night. What of it?" He rolled to the side. Ekmoris and some other guys who also joined gave each other a surprised look. Flak panicked. This was sounding bad.
"Haha....he''s joking, he's so tired he forgot that he was playing with me and Ek and the others. He wasn't out-"
"Flak...could you shut it?"
Everyone was shocked. Of all students, Kyurex would be the last to say something like that, especially to Flak.
Flak didn't know how to respond. The others starred.
"What? Kyu-"
"What the hell is up with your attitude Kyu!!? Why are you being so disgusting to your friend-"
Angel couldn't finish her raging output, because Mr.Green suddenly appeared. Kyurex smirked. It felt good to play the pissed off type of guy.
"Children...children...I don't really think you're discussing the right topic here."
He gave everyone a stare. Even Angel didn't have enough courage to continue in front of Mr.Green.
"And you my young lady...is something the matter?"
There was a short silence, even the other groups eventually calmed down.
"No Mr.Green..."
"Good....very good. Now I suggest you start discussing the topic."
Suddenly the teachers eyes focused on something else.
"Young lady....I'm over here."
The group looked. It was Revy, who was apparently late. The cute little Eevee, as soon as she realized where her teacher was, hurried to stand in front of him.
"I-I'm sorry Mr.Green, I was on my-"
"Keep the excuses child. It's ok." The Shiftry smiled. He then took another glance at Kyurex and co.
"Now isn't this convenient? You're just in time. You can join this group over here...is that okay with you?"
Revy took a quick look at the group. She was quite a neutral classmate, not liking any problems with others. She was generally very happy and fun to be with. And she was also a huge hit with the males, which explained the surprised expression on Ekmoriss and Cos faces.
Kyurex opened his eyes, realizing that Revy was now looking at him. She instantly blushed, looking away as fast as she could.
"O-of course Mr.Green."
The Shiftry grinned.
"Hehe...good. Then you can all start. And please keep the discussions on other things for the breaks, okay?"
He walked off to the next group. Angel didn't look happy at all, Flak was silent, Ekmoris and some of the others went on to greet Revy and Kyurex closed his eyes again.
"So, like...Ah man I don't get it!! Why would The Dark Lord want to get the Unknowns power if he was the one who gave it to him and had like two times as much? Thats's just not logical." Ekmoris asked. Lucy, the one who was explaining everybody about the War of Freedom, sighed.
"I just told you like...three times already. The Unknown was the only one of the seven Generals who could manipulate power! At the end, though this is not sure, it was him who forced the other generals to be imprisoned!"
The others listened, including Kyurex. He knew everything already, but he was more focused on how the others interacted. He also understood that Revy was more interested in him than he had thought. Ekmoris and the rest were confused again, because Kyurex would from time to time help Revy with her questions.
"Sorry guys...but I don't quite understand...was the Unknown imprisoned at the end?" Revy asked. The males who would, to their desire, answer, couldn't. Except of course, Kyurex. Angel puffed her cheeks, and Flak shook his head. Kyurex was definitely planning something.
"Yep...in the ruins of the 4th Island. It is said he was imprisoned by a group of psychic Pokemon, which is weird, since he himself was assumed to be a dark type. They even say his soul still lives, because he could never go onto the afterlife after killing so much. All fibs if you ask me."
Everyone listened, because they knew no one else knew as much as Kyurex did. Angel was getting more and more angry, and even sad. She just couldn't figure out why Kyurex was acting this way. He had ignored her since answering her the first time completely. Flak still stayed silent.
Revy blushed.
"Oh...well, thanks Kyurex." she cutely responded, acting shy.
"Ey...you can call me Kyu...it's not like we're strangers or something."
The group was kind of amazed.
"Wha..." Angel couldn't say anything. She knew that Kyurex wasn't her property but she couldn't believe he was acting like that in front of her. Flak turned away, sighing.
"E-ahh...." Revy blushed. It was no secret anymore that she adored Kyurex. "Sorry, Kyu..."
But she was happy, and couldn't help but smile.
Kyurex smiled back.
Hahahaha...genius...
Angel wanted to do something but couldn't. She just couldn't find a reason to confront Kyurex, but she also found it unbearable how he was practically asking out a girl in front of her.
The group after some whispers returned back to normal, not for all too long though.
Ekmoris moved closer to Kyurex while the others kept on discussing.
"Psst. Dude...are you trying to score with Revy? Don't you think Bull will get mad?"
Kyurex raised an eyebrow.
"Ek, seriously, do you really think Bull can do anything about it?"
Ekmoris didn't expect such a response. He thought.
"Not really, but he's got his pups around him."
"Even better."
Lucy, noticing Angels pain, wanted to make things clear.
"Say Revy, have you noticed that Kyurex is being awfully kind today?" She said it like an announcement. Everybody listened. Kyurex smiled. Revy looked at him, and then back at Lucy.
"Uh-wha-"
"Didn't you know? I kind of like talking to someone I find to be pretty, it's only natural."
It was completely absurd. Flak smacked his face with his paw, Ekmoris started coughing and some other males even held their jaws. Revy looked like she was ready to lose her conscious.
Angel was simply put, shocked. Lucy couldn't believe her ears.
"But even so, isn't it weird? You barely know Revy."
Kyurex smirked. He loved to be able to dominate in any conversation when needed.
"Hmmm....you're right." He turned to look Revy into her eyes. "I was thinking about...well, maybe me and you could go out and eat something together? Maybe on the weekend? Of course only if you want..."
It was so sudden and direct, but Revy still didn't suspect a thing. It was so unexpected that she didn't really know what to answer.
"I-I....well...sure."
Kyurex smirked.
Suddenly, Angel stood up, abruptly turning around and walking away.
Ekmoris shook his head.
"I seriously think, that I missed something...either today, or maybe yesterday, but I definitely missed something."
"Hi Mum...." Kyurex walked into his home. His Mum greeted him with a smile, stretching after getting up from her pile of leaves.
"Hey sweetheart, how was school?" She yawned.
"As usual. Nothing special."
The Eevee said, in a tone that was not all to convincing. He lay down on his own pile of leaves, placing his head on his paws. His mother slowly approached him, smiling.
"Mum..Mum, no! Mum!!!!"
The Espeon ignored the pleadings, licking her sons furr. Kyurex knew there was no escape, and he actually didn't hate it as much as he pretended to. There was nothing he could do, so he kept still.
"So, what's the matter?" His Mother asked. There was no pretending in front of her. Kyurex sighed, feeling his furr stick up on his head.
"Mum, I told you about Angel, right?"
"That's just adorable. You should bring her over again some time."
"No, but mum...I found out that she likes someone else...And its really not cool."
The washing continued.
"I thought you said your were the only boy she hanged out with?"
Kyurex puffed his cheeks.
"Yeah, that's what I thought too."
"Well, did you ever tell her your true feelings?"
Kyurex fell silent. The Espeon stopped the cleaning, giving her son a surprised look.
"You haven't? Wait...do you want to tell me, you haven't confessed to her yet?"
"Mum! It's not that easy you know! It's not like-"
"Who ever said it should be easy? You just have to know that the first move is made by you boys....expecting a girl to confess? That's just plain silly."
The washing continued, and Kyurex had some knew information to think about. His mother smiled.
"But mum! I can't do that anymore!"
"Why?"
"She's dating someone else!"
"And?"
Kyurex fell silent again. He couldn't tell his mum the other reason why he wasn't comfortable with the thought of confessing. He knew he had caused Angel to experience some painful moments today but, he didn't really care.
It's her own fault...and she doesn't have to act like she cares anyway. She likes someone else. What a joke.
"Hello? Is anyone home?"
Kyurex couldn't believe his eyes. It was Angel, slowly entering the cave.
What the hell!? Ahh nahh man.....this is...
Kyurexs mum smiled.
"Well hi Angel, we were just talking abou-"
"Mum!! What the hell don't tell her that!!" Kyurex snapped. His mother gave him a confused look.
"Em...I was wondering if I could talk to Kyurex?"
Damn!!
"Mum(!!)" Kyurex tried to whisper. "Tell her I can't- tell her I've got a tooth decay and can't speak or something! Mum you've got to back me up! Mum! Don't- what are you doing? MUM!!"
His mother gently bit into his furr around his neck, carefully picking him up. Again, Kyurex knew he was helpless.
Ah no man...
Slowly, Kyurex got closer and closer to Angel, who couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.
"Mum...I'm so getting you back for this..."
The Espeon placed the clearly angered Kyurex onto the floor, in front of Angel.
They shared a short stare.
"You two go and have fun."
The Espeon returned to her pile of leaves, now cleaning herself. Kyurex looked shortly at his mother, and then at Angel, sighing.
"Well, lets go and get this over with."
Some time passed and both of them still hadn't started talking. They merely walked next to each other, both of them waiting for the other to speak. Kyurex go inpatient.
"So, what's the issue?" Kyurex stopped, and so did Angel. She gave him an angry glare.
"This."
"What is?"
"The way you're acting!"
"Am I acting?"
"Yes. Since when do you snap at your friends? Since when do you ignore them?"
"Hmm...wait a sec. I didn't snap at anybody, I only asked Flak to shut up because he was talking for me. And I didn't ignore anybody either, I was just tired."
Angels expression didn't change, where as Kyurex remained perfectly calm.
"Why did you ignore me the whole time?"
Kyurex smirked. He returned the serious stare Angel gave him, coming closer.
"Angel...what part of "I was TIRED" don't you understand my dear?"
*SMACK*
....
..........
"Eh..."
Kyurex rubbed his cheek. It didn't really hurt, but it was still unpleasant. He witnessed Angel shed tears. She was crying.
"I hate you..." the Eevee sobbed, sounding lost. "And...but, I love you at the same time...I-"
Unexpected. Angel tried to hide the fact that she was crying. She wasn't used to it.
_What? _
Kyurex had to laugh, but was actually somewhat surprised. He turned to leave, giving Angel a last glance.
"Yeah? I think I'm not the one you should be telling this...I think there's some difference between me and Kobri." He started walking, not looking back. The sobbing stopped.
He then wanted to continue.
"As if I'm going to-"
* THUD *
Kyurex felt his body getting slammed against the floor. He tried to turn around, but Angel jumped on top of him, gripping his throat with her paws. Kyurex noticed the spark in her eyes, they were moist, but the deep anger was obvious. He felt her putting pressure to her grip. This was definitely unusual.
"You, are going to tell me everything from the beginning. Everything you heard about me and Kobri. And let me warn you, whatever you say next must be the solid truth. Or else."
Kyurex explained everything to Angel, who was standing there, as if guarding something valuable, carefully listening to everything he had to say. Kyurex told her everything. About the rumors and the part where he and Blaze spied on her and Kobri. Angel remained serious till the end.
"So that's actually it. That's why I don't see the reason for you being mad. You could've at least told me something but no, not only did you act weird like for a whole week but you also started dating someone you didn't know at all, didn't tell me about it and also showed no will to do so. And that's why I'm saying you should go tell stuff like that to your boyfriend and not me. Hell, if anyone sees us together now they'll probably start spreading rumors around and that won't be healthy for your relationship. I guess we should stop hanging around generally because others will think we've got something going on." Kyurex caught his breath. He stood up.
"So seriously, I wish you two the best of luck. It was nice hanging out with you. I'm going-"
"Wait." Angel didn't move and also stopped Kyurex in his tracks. She still kept the serious tone.
"What?" Kyurex wasn't in the mood for further discussions.
"Pff- Hahahaha!! Kobri is nice, hehe......gentle, and understanding. Hahaha...Kyuii...." Angel laughed.
"What?" Kyurex was now really ticked off. Was she trying to tell him how cool her boyfriend was or something? And what was so funny?
Angel continued, ignoring the fellow Eevee.
"It was actually quite cute when he confessed...I was quite surprised...Hehe..."
"Angel, I seriously don't want to-"
"That he liked Revy..."
"Angel, I don't want to hear - wait...what!?"
"And I was surprised that he thought that I could help him...but I couldn't turn him down."
Kyurex was suddenly struck with confusion. He turned around to face Angel.
"So, you were hanging with him, to talk about Revy or something?"
Angel nodded cutely.
Kyurex sighed.
"Wait...so, he isn't your boyfriend?"
"Rumors tend to be unreliable Kyui..."
"Eh..."
Angel raised an eyebrow.
"Don't you think so?" she asked.
"........" Kyurex couldn't say anything. He suddenly started to feel quite bad. And there was this case with Revy. But the fact that the rumors about Kobri and Angel were not true somehow made him feel a thousand times better
"Hey, how about saying something?"
Kyurex didn't know if he should apologize or just stay silent. Angel looked at him with a wide grin.
"Kyuii....were you sulking?" she asked in a childish tone. Kyurex turned away. She was right. Angel couldn't help herself but feel victorious.
"Were you mad that I didn't tell you anything? Were you jealous?" She kept the tone. Kyurex knew she was enjoying the fact that she was rubbing it in.
Man...she's right.
"Did you start feeling lonely, thinking that I like Kobri? Did you?" Angel came close, poking Kyurexs cheek with her paw. Kyurex suddenly thought what his mother had told him, and decided to not make the same mistake twice. It was now or never. He then turned to her.
"Yeah I was sulking! So what?" Kyurex felt like he had to close this topic once and for all, Angel took a step back, seeing the confidence in Kyurexs eyes.
"I was scared that I lost you...yeah, and I figured you played me, cause I thought that when you said you cared for me like for no one else you meant it. I had hoped that you would have acknowledged the fact that I love you back then...yeah I said it!! I love you, I love you to the point that it hurts! You've got a problem with that?"
Kyurex talked, letting all his emotions that were stored inside his chest out. Angel was simply put, shocked. She felt her own heart accelerate. Kyurex caught his breath, starring at Angel.
"I- He....well, no...I surely don't have a problem with that." the female quietly responded, looking once more at the ground.
Silence. Kyurex, after a while, smiled to himself. Angel still searched for the right words.
"Hehe, now I feel much better. Wasn't that hard after all." He stood up, figuring that everything would stay the same. He prepared to leave.
"Wait! Kyu...I.." Angel looked at the ground, eventually looking at Kyurex.
"I also love you...I can't stop thinking about you, everyday, you're the one who was always there for me, the one who always makes me laugh, makes me feel so secure...I..."
"Angel..."
They got closer....and closer....and....
"Woah!!" Kyurex jumped up, standing on all fours. He desperately looked around.
May lay next to him, Blaze was sleeping next to a tree. Everything was quiet.
The Umbreon shook his head.
Man....what a dream....
The birds flew around in the bright sun, chirping at each other. This wasn't the Star Forest....this was...
Man...I keep having these dreams....about Angel?
He tried to understand if there was a meaning or some kind of relation between the dreams he had and the reality he experienced. He then took a look at the sky, remembering the dream. It seemed so real, like he just swapped places with someone else.
He then understood that these were memories he had tried to forget these past few years. It wasn't May he had shared the first kiss with.....it was-
Angel...
He looked up at the sky.
I miss you...
