CotJ II: The Last Stand Act II Part V
#15 of Chronicles of the Justicar II: The LAst Stand
[The Shadow Core; Dark Spire; Shadow Gate Prime; 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 3:50PM]
Lord Vurdamis stood at the very area where Dark Spire was built to protect, the Shadow Gate Prime, the most powerful transport system between the two realms that would used to bring the Void God to its organic host. The swirling vortex contained within the large inscribed gate crackled with dark energies as the powerful guardian of the Shadow Core waited on the other side.
The frozen, skull clad, infinite lord kneeled down in front of the Shadow Gate Prime as some of the most powerful cult magi held the gate open with blood sacrifices for life energy.
"Your plan is still on schedule, oh great one." Vurdamis said at the large gate
Lord Vurdamis' mind was shown the guardian of life trying to get the other realm guardians to go against the Void God while he also fought the organics in the realm of mortality.
"You are not worried?" Vurdamis asked as he stood up
Pandemonium showed his most powerful servant the army they had built up within Dark Spire for so many eons, as they exterminated the organics on every world in every galaxy across the realm leaving only dead worlds and cult monsters to represent the organic life that once was.
"Of course, they will never hope to overcome our numbers, for we are infinite."
[Uncharted World; 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 4:10PM]
Azerigan and Balsora watched from inside the edge of the jungle wall at the infinite encampment at the bottom of the hill. A Shadow Gate was the focus point of the entire base with cult members shipping bodies and parts of drones through the gate as they dug up old dragon graveyards and strip mined the surrounding area.
"The infinite, they are gathering bodies." Azerigan sneered as he watched a drone help its organic allies pull massive bones from the excavation areas they had set up
"I can't imagine going against those experiments knowing they were once regular citizens like you or I..." Balsora said softly
Azerigan growled, "They aren't who they were. They are nothing now but mere meat puppets for the damn Void God."
Balsora turned to the angered green giant, "Vurdamis knows you're a threat to his plans and he will do everything in his power to stop you, your banishment was no doubt because of him."
Azerigan nodded in agreement, "No matter what that traitor throws at me I will over come."
"He will play at your emotions Azerigan, your family is in danger" Balsora said as she lowered her head
Azerigan's heart dropped into his stomach knowing what she said was true, "They will still be on Drakos and the royal guard would surely execute me if I were to go warn them."
"Then they are good as dead, I'm sorry Azerigan." Balsora said as she tried to comfort the powerful dragon
"No!" Azerigan yelled as he refused the very notion, "I must save them!"
"And do what?" Balsora said as she seemed generally concerned for him, "If you go back you may not even set foot on the planet let alone your old home, and then you would only end up dead to be made into an experiment."
"Then why tell me this?" Azerigan said as he tried to argue in his head that she was lying
"Because Lord Vurdamis will eventually turn them into cult monsters themselves and try to make a deal for you to replace them at his side, he needs you for his master's conquest." Balsora explained
"So what do you purpose we do?" Azerigan asked as he watched a drone pull out the entire remains of a previous Prime Consort to the Queen Matriarch and carry it off into the Shadow Gate with the help of anther drone.
"Only prepare, Azerigan." She answered
[The Dorian Grey; Medical Ward; 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 5:10PM]
Liken woke up in a cold sweat from her awful nightmare and saw Arjun was still at her side who was asleep on the stool with his body leaning forward. The brown skinned human had his head on her legs using them like a pillow with his hands under his head for support. The valgary smiled weakly as she brushed Arjun's dusty brown hair with her right claw to try and wake the sleeping person gently.
"Arjun?" she asked trying to coax the human into waking up
"Just five more minutes..." Arjun said half asleep while he twisted on his side
Liken ruffled the human's air furiously under her claw so he could finally became aware of his surroundings with a loud yawn. He looked up at her and stretched his arms from being in one position for so long.
"What's up scales?" he asked while looking for the time
"I'm sorry but I thought I was still back at that awful place." She whispered
"Hey we got you out, it's ok now." Arjun comforted
"I just can't bear to think what they will do to Carpender..." Liken said sadly
"It was his decision, and I know I sound like a broken record at this point but remember it's not your fault, you can't blame your self for every loss." Arjun comforted
"I know, its just hard Arjun. I just don't know if I can go on in this war...so much pain"
"It's not easy for me either Scales, but you just have to preserve." Arjun answered
The valgary nodded in agreement with a sigh as Arjun got up to stretch his legs, Liken quickly tugged at his arm when he tried to go.
"Where are you going?" she asked
"I need to sleep in my bed, the stool is hurting my neck." He answered
The valgary looked down before getting an idea and shifting her weight so there was enough space on the hospital bed for the both of them.
"You can sleep with me until you are needed." Liken said innocently
Arjun scratched his head nervously as he looked at the other patients who were either asleep themselves or under drugs and to see if they heard Liken's offer.
"I really don't think the doctor would like it." Arjun said
Liken smiled as lifted her left claw up and showed off her talons that ripped through marine body armour like tissue paper, "I don't think he will bother asking, besides you won't hurt me, you aren't in your armour" she smiled afterwards
She patted the open spot with the same claw to gesture the human to lie beside her which he did as he did not know what to make of the situation. Arjun rested on his side with his back against the valgary's chest; he felt her arm cross his torso allowing for her to hold the human closer to her. Liken's tears ran down her neck that touched Arjun's shoulders as she now had both of her arms wrapped around him holding him like she had before.
Arjun closed his eyes trying to get his much needed rest with Liken. Although he felt like a sore thumb as the alien creature was sharing her hospital bed with him that would surely raise a lot of eyebrows amongst the crew members but at the same time he felt something right within himself that only he could describe as a strong bond between him and her.
"Th-thank you for doing this." Liken whispered with her head against that of Arjun's
"I won't leave you." Arjun said from his heart that surprised himself that he blurted it out
Liken blushed at what Arjun had just said as she lifted her head away from him as she saw him for the true friend she so desperately needed.
[Dorian Grey; Prison Ward 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 5:43PM]
"Sir!" The cell guard saluted at Ethan who walked up to the cell Serverus was in
The burn faced human didn't salute the mere private, "I think you should let me take your position here for a while, private." Ethan ordered
"I don't think my sergeant would like that, sir."
Ethan glared at the marine, "Who are you more scared of? Your sergeant? Or... me."
The marine nodded in fear, "I-I think I could use a coffee break anyway"
"You go do that." Ethan sneered as the private ran off.
Serverus got up from the cold metal floor from inside his cell and walked up to the invisible barrier.
"Finally you are here." Serverus grinned "The Seer grows weak ever since they wasted his magic on going after the valgary. I have placed numerous portal beacons through out the ship with my magic that will bring in my forces."
"As long as this Void God promises the power I will get you speak of, as I am always on the winning side." Ethan said
"Yes, once this is all over you will be granted powers beyond your feeble imagination." Serverus reassured
"Good, but I have to ask, why wait to spring the attack on this ship?" Ethan asked
"Lord Vurdamis is in the process of gathering his forces for a final attack; part of his army will ensure the destruction of the Seer and his followers while the bulk will over take the Draconian home world and end this realm once and for all."
"What makes you think anther trap will work on them?" The Vanquisher asked with his arms crossed
"Oh no." Serverus smirked as he shook his head. "When the Seer and his followers finally go after Azerigan he will be in one our most fortified bases and with the help of your sabotage this raid will be the last fight of their lives."
"So until then...?" Ethan asked
"We wait for Lord Vurdamis' signal and inform my captors of the dragon's whereabouts and while the Seer and his champions are being slaughtered the Void God's army will set their sights on Drakos..."
[Uncharted World; 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 5:53PM]
Balsora turned to Azerigan who had not touched his meal she had hunted for him moments earlier. The imposing dragon nudged the dead animal with his maw trying to work up an appetite but none came to him.
"I'm sorry about what I told you, I thought you should have known." Balsora whispered
"No, you did the right thing." Azerigan answered back. "But if I become depressed then Vurdamis will have won, when that dammed infinite comes back to try and do me in again I will bring peace back to my family with his death."
"Its amazing how you can stay positive throughout this." Balsora complimented as she nuzzled against him
"Some one has too, the infinite rely on fear and manipulation to get what they want. They have the numbers and weapons to destroy us all but the Void God holds his own army because this entire thing is one sick game for him, he enjoys watching us organics suffer to savour the moment before he wipes us all out in a single march across the realm." Azerigan said
"But how do you plan on stopping them, the infinite are so strong." She said softly
"I do not know." Azerigan said before shaking his head
"Why not use their powers against them?" Balsora suggested
"What do you mean?" Azerigan asked who was intrigued
"Lord Vurdamis will try and break you by using your family as cult monsters but since you are prepared you can accept his offer and join the infinite and destroy them from within." She answered
Azerigan nodded in agreement, "That's not a half bad idea Bal"
"Thank you." She smiled
[Planet Drakos; Talsora's Cave; 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 6:04PM]
Mazerigan walked over to his mother who had waited patiently for her eldest child to return back from Caer Sidi with the location of the world his father and her love was taken too.
"How did it go?" Talsora asked when she took apart the fighting whelps with both of her claws so they wouldn't be distasteful
"My teacher was sorry for our loss and told me he would already be dead." Mazerigan answered, "I knew of course father was much stronger and asked for his help again, and since he was a well respected arch mage at the academy he allowed me only to view the documents of Azerigan's banishment. I know where he is." He smiled afterwards
Talsora also smiled and was about to congratulate her son when their home received an unexpected visitor as the temperature dropped.
"You do know it is illegal and dangerous to go after a banished citizen, don't you?" Lord Vurdamis answered who walked into their dwelling who was also escorted by a full compliment of cult monsters and drones.
Vitee and his siblings immediately hid under their mother from seeing the cult monsters; the former citizens of the Draconian Kingdom had their limbs replaced with swords and their naked bodies were wrapped in dirty linen bandages.
"I thought you said there was no such thing as monsters mommy!" Vitee cried behind his mother's back legs
Talsora looked up and down at the cult monsters and remembering the descriptions of what Azerigan kept telling her of what he saw when she got mad at him for spying on Lord Vurdamis.
"Azerigan was right...all this time." She whispered as her heart dropped
"Yes he was." Lord Vurdamis answered as he overheard her, "Which brings me to why I am here."
The drone's eyes became green for an instant before going back to a blood red, while the cult monsters began sharpening their knife arms together.
Mazerigan stepped in front of his cowering family and looked Lord Vurdamis right in his socket less eyes on his skull shaped helmet with his unnatural cold blue fog coming out of his mouth.
"You're going to have to go through me first!" Mazerigan boldly said
Vurdamis looked at the young dragon with his skull faces having a confused look on them until he realized the student was not joking as he began putting defensive wards on himself. The infinite lord let out the biggest laugh he had ever done in the longest time at the situation; he waved for his minions to stand their ground as he would take on the academy student alone.
"Very well...organic." Vurdamis answered
Lord Vurdamis summoned his menacing frozen scythe into his cold hands that caused Mazerigan to gulp as the creeping chill of the infinite lord started to affect the magi student. As the dragon finished the last of his protective barriers the infinite lord attacked with no planning as the pathetic organic needed no strategy.
Mazerigan's protective barriers failed instantly when Vurdamis' ice cold scythe ripped through the magic incantations in one fell swoop. The impact of the attack sent the dragon into the cave wall causing his family to gasp with the younger whelps urging him to get back up
.
"W-Why are you doing this?" Mazerigan asked as he got up slowly
"The Void God is trying to dominate the Pantheon of Gods but the guardian of this realm still apposes him." The infinite lord walked over to the dragon and held the organic by the neck as he lifted the beast off of the ground, "He wants your Queen's body to be a host for him so he can consume all organic life to make himself stronger and when he is done he will kill the guardian, take his energy then devour the rest of the realms and their guardians and finally remake all the realms in his image!"
"You'll never get away with it!" Mazerigan argued as he tried to get air into his lungs
"Oh but we have already won." Vurdamis grinned as he choked the dragon further with his cold metal grip, "Your annoying father will be turned and used as bait to lure and destroy the Seer's followers and as they die painfully this world will be caught in the infinite advance!"
Lord Vurdamis got ready to snap the dragon's neck when Mazerigan put all his strength into his fiery breath to disorient the infinite lord and with no time to spare he opened a portal near his family.
"Go! Father is on the other side!" Mazerigan ordered
Talsora looked at her first born urging him to come to her so they could all escape but as the dragon started to run Lord Vurdamis rose up from behind him and impaled the student with his scythe with the handle so he was pinned to the ground. Talsora shoved her whelps into the portal as she watched her son cough up blood before she herself left knowing there was nothing she could have done.
Lord Vurdamis turned to his minions that have stayed stoic the whole battle and with a condensing sigh at them he pointed at the portal, "After them."
Cult monsters and the infinite drones rushed through the portal after Azerigan's family while Lord Vurdamis opened a communication portal of his own to contact his agent that was with Azerigan.
"The plans have changed; his consort and hatchlings are heading straight to you!" Vurdamis growled
The dragoness laughed, "Oh don't worry they won't be a problem. Just make sure you will be here after what I am planning ..."
Lord Vurdamis lifted his scythe out of Mazerigan's back before encasing the still alive dragon in a block of ice as he headed towards the portal and before he entered the infinite lord closed his fist to shatter the block causing it to explode in shards of ice and gore.
[Uncharted World; 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 6:35PM]
Balsora tugged at Azerigan's arms and looked him in the eyes, "I have felt an energy disturbance, and this is it, time to face your demons."
Azerigan nodded, "Vurdamis will not take my mind away from me, he may have warped the ones I love but I know they are already dead..."
The dragoness touched the large dragon's face with her soft left claw, "You can do this."
"He turned them into the abominations I have killed many times; their deaths are on his hands, not mine. They are just 'meat puppets'." Azerigan growled
Balsora threw herself into Azerigan's arms which he accepted, "Just remain focus on what they are, Malero would have done his best to keep them as real as possible."
Azerigan hugged the dragoness as he stood on his hind legs, "I never wanted to admit to myself that they would be dead but you are right."
"Azerigan?!" Talsora yelled in the distance
The former mate of Azerigan saw the large dragon through the trees and came rushing over with her hatchlings on her back. Azerigan walked away from Balsora and headed towards Talsora with a cold stare as his mind fortified itself on what needed to be done.
"Azerigan your ali-" Talsora said before Azerigan tore into her neck with his powerful jaws
The dragoness fell to the ground as their children were thrown off their mother's back. Talsora shivered as warmth left her body from the mortal wound before looking up at Azerigan.
"I-I loved you." Talsora said before she finally bled out
Vitee looked up at his father while his siblings pleaded for her mother to come back to them and as the large eyed whelp looked at his father he didn't know what to do when Azerigan's front claw came down on his own hatchlings flatting them.
"It's done..." Azerigan said weakly
Azerigan looked up when he saw several drones violently knocking down trees and flora alike with a swarm of cult monsters at their feet as they headed straight towards him. As the imposing force headed for him the ground near him froze solid in seconds at the centre of the ice patch appeared Lord Vurdamis.
The infinite lord looked at the dead bodies of Azerigan's family then back at the dragon that still had the fresh flesh in between his teeth and claws.
"Oh what's this?" Vurdamis laughed whole heartedly, "Oh this is too much!"
Azerigan glared at the ice covered infinite lord, "What do you mean?"
"You finally murdered your own family, Azerigan." Lord Vurdamis answered
"I did not murder anyone, you turned them into your abominations and I ended their suffering!" Azerigan yelled back
Lord Vurdamis laughed, "Is that what she told you?"
Azerigan turned around to see Balsora's body suddenly become warped and grey as the dragoness shrank in size with details being lost in every passing second until all that was left was one humanoid clay blob that stood alone.
"Your...too...easily accepting...." Baphomet cackled
"My associate, Baphomet." Lord Vurdamis nodded
Azerigan turned back to his dead love and fell to the ground as he vomited on the jungle floor when he realized what he had done. His stomach pained him greatly but as Lord Vurdamis laughed at his misfortune Azerigan quickly became so infuriated he charged the infinite lord.
Lord Vurdamis laughed again as he summoned his scythe and sliced the front wrists of the powerful dragon causing the massive beast to fall to the ground as he couldn't walk anymore.
"Drones, take this organic to the base that has been prepared for the Seer and his followers." Ordered Lord Vurdamis
The squid like mechs flashed green as they headed over to the incapacitated dragon and began to drag the beast off to the nearby encampment with other drones carrying the rest of his family as well. The infinite lord opened a portal to contact his Shadow Master.
"Malero, its time." Vurdamis smiled
The half dragon lizard folk smiled as well, "Yes, oh great one."
[The Shadow Core; Dark Spire; Construction Quarter; 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 6:55PM]
Shadow Master Malero Alterus turned to one of his most promising students after he received Lord Vurdamis' order.
"Activate the drones." Malero ordered
The cultist nodded and pulled down a massive lever under a huge red light and as it reached the bottom the light became green with sirens booming throughout Dark Spire.
Every single drone held up in the storage bays that had enough energy turned on, their dormant black eyes flash green before turning a blood red. One by one the colossal infinite machines marched down the numberless hallways in Dark Spire towards the portal at the end of every single storage bay that led to the Draconian home-world of Drakos.
[Planet Drakos; Caer Sidi; City centre; 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 7:09PM]
The market district of the major populace of the Draconian city bustled with life and activity. A lizard folk child dropped her stuffed animal of a wilderbeast and walked away from her mother to go and retrieve it. The young draconian picked up her blue furred comfort and as she looked up she saw an adult male lizard folk who was covered in bandages and had blades for limbs that appeared out of now where in front of her.
The child screamed as the blade dancer ended her life with a swift decapitation. An infinite drone materialized out of thin air and stood over the blade dancers as they rushed into the crowds of innocents in a blood craze.
Infinite drones continued to materialize throughout the capital city of Drakos who were also led by their infinite lords who stood over their soldiers in their huge spider shaped suits.
Queen Matriarch Natyria watched from her personal chamber out her large glass window that looked over her entire city that was engulfed in flames with drones smashing down buildings and their lords giving telepathic orders as they did their fare share of destruction. She looked down at the gates of her castle where her personal guard battled against hordes of cult monsters but in time the defenders fell to the endless onslaught of the undead.
A terrible crash caught the Queen's attention where she found the entrance to her room was breached by several drones and under their feet came a rushing tide of cult monsters that flooded into her chambers where they became locked in a bloody fight with her most loyal of knights.
The royal knights did not falter as they held against wave after wave of the hordes of experiments that used to be citizens of the Kingdom. The infinite drones behind the cult monsters open fired on the knights but the protective magic from the arch mages that stood near their Queen blocked the lethal projectiles.
With all their focused might the arch mages reflected back the drone's volley of lasers back at them destroying them all in violent explosions. As the last of the drones fell so did that of the cult monsters.
"Your majesty, we have to evacuate you immediately." An arch mage said as he looked up at his queen
The royal knights began to count their losses when all of them shivered as the temperature dropped suddenly. The last of the Queen's personal guards looked towards the entrance of Natyria's chamber to find the ice that had not naturally formed around the room began breaking off and converging on one point in front of them.
Lord Vurdamis took several steps forward into the large chamber looking at the royal knights who had their weapons raised at him, and arch mages who prepared their most power spells in their arsenal.
"Knights of her royal majesty, attack!" yelled the knight-commander
Lord Vurdamis laughed as the elite guards ran towards the infinite lord but before they could even get in range with their enchanted weapons they froze solid instantly from just being near the icy cold being. The arch mages did what ever they could to stop the advancing infinite lord who took his time walking up the huge steps up to the Queen Matriarch who just watched Lord Vurdamis cut a path through her magi.
"You, you betrayed us all!" Natyria yelled as the infinite lord finished off the last of her arch mages with his own magic
"That would imply I was with you at all." Lord Vurdamis laughed
"What do you hope to gain out of all this." She demanded
Lord Vurdamis looked out the window beside them to see a huge explosion engulf a city district far way, "Your surrender."
"Every clan from my kingdom will come to my aid, traitor, and you're foolish to think you can over come our people!" she said sternly
"Oh let them come." Lord Vurdamis laughed, "They will be food for my soldiers who still await dormant"
"If we don't stop you then some one will, Vurdamis." She argued back
Lord Vurdamis cackled, "As your people die in the streets the Seer and his followers will meet their end as well."
[The Dorian Grey; Briefing Room 3,568 A.D, November 26th, 9:10PM]
"This is such a trap." Arjun commented
"You did say the infinite were over confident, and you were right." Mitchell answered, "Serverus gave us the location of Azerigan and the Seer has confirmed his presence there."
"Not to mention we also do not have a choice in the matter, we need Azerigan if we hope to defeat the Void God and time is of the essence as the traitor also showed Lord Vurdamis is already in the process of subduing the Queen Matriarch for the Void God" Xross said
"Yeah, but we also won't have anyone left if we go, we need to go to Drakos immediately." Arjun argued
Captain Ranorin rubbed his chin, "What if we get somebody else to stop the infinite at Drakos?"
Mitchell Constantine looked at the captain with an odd look, "What are you suggesting?"
"We contact VALOR to help support the Draconians against the infinite." Ranorin nodded
"With the help of my contacts still at the High Command we should be able to convince the President to lend support, and they can use their deep space probes to confirm on what we are saying." Mitchell nodded as he accepted the idea
"I still have access to the rest of the darkspawn fleet when they joined my people when the infinite betrayed them." Xross added
Arjun turned to the demon leader, "I thought VALOR dismantled all darkspawn ships and tech?"
Xross laughed, "Please, without my informants VALOR would be like a blind kid trying to hit a piñata when it comes to warfare. My forces will be sent to Drakos immediately."
Captain Ranorin nodded, "Mitchell, you contact whoever you need to get VALOR's support so they can commit their forces into fighting our true enemy, crew dismissed."
Everyone left their seats and headed to the exit of the briefing room to get ready for the rescue of Azerigan. Arjun headed towards the exit before Liken had stopped him at the door.
"You know, I don't think I ever left a meeting without some one stopping me." Arjun said
"I need to talk to you about something." Liken asked
"What's wrong Scales?" Arjun answered
"And please, no jokes." She said seriously
"Sorry." He apologized
Liken looked down at her hoofs as what she was trying to get out was hard for her to say," Every battle we go into is a gamble...and with this one coming up...I want to make sure I told you in case...in case one of us doesn't come back."
Arjun didn't interrupt the black scaled alien so she could tell him at her own pace; he placed his armoured grip on her right shoulder causing her to look at the helmet less Justicar.
The valgary left herself very vulnerable with her emotions as she took a deep breath, "I need to know...if you ever thought me as more of a friend."
Arjun was stunned by the valgary's question, his mouth moved but no words came out causing Liken to sigh.
"I thought as much." Liken said quietly
"No" Arjun answered, "I just don't know what to say."
"A yes or no, I need to know." Liken demanded
"It's not that easy, I mean I like you and I want to see you be happy but..." Arjun answered
"But what?" Liken said as she started to get a temper, "Because I'm not a human?"
"Well...yes. Just give me some time to think about it."
Liken shrugged off the human's hand, "You've already answered" she growled afterwards
The valgary stormed off as she made sure Arjun didn't see her cry. The Justicar kicked the ground as he swore under his breath for hating himself for not getting over his fear of what others would think of him if he was seeing an alien.
"Arjun, we need your suit for repairs before the mission, over." Said a scientist over the Justicar's wrist pad
Arjun took a seat back where he was during the briefing as he looked at his helmet that stared back at him.
"Arjun, we need..."said the scientist before Arjun's voice blocked out his
"I fucking heard you the first time!" Arjun lashed out as he didn't push the button to answer
"...before the mission, over." The scientist said
Arjun placed his face into his hands with his elbows on the large round table but not before to long the same voice came over his suit's speakers causing the Justicar to grab his helmet and throw it against the nearest wall breaking the communication system and leaving a huge crater in the wall as well.
[High orbit of Uncharted World; The Dorian Grey; 3,568 A.D, November 27th, 1:10AM]
Serverus sat comfortably in his cell as he tented his fingers together as he heard over the ships A.I announced they were at their destination. A portal behind the traitor leader opened up were a purple bolt of lighting struck the back side of the former servant of the guardian of life.
The cell guards backed away as Serverus yelled in ecstasy as his flesh melted away as the organic ascended into god hood to become the Void God's avatar.
"Yes! I AM A GOD! GAAAAH!" Serverus screamed as became what Xoro'tanth could never appreciated as his mind became fully consumed to be used by the Void God directly
The avatar of Pandemonium walked through the invisible barrier of its cell as a smoky black cloud took the shape of a blade in its hands before becoming fully solid. The guards fired at the demi-god but nothing fazed the avatar allowing it to brutally slaughter the mixed specie guards in seconds.
Ethan Alexander who was now in his full Vanquisher power armour stood in front of the main engine of the Dorian Grey that allowed it to enter hyperspace. Cult monsters began appearing through out the engineering room as they slaughtered the workers with the Vanquisher aiming his weapons at the engine core.
"Let's make this a bit more interesting." He said smugly before overloading the core with a single shot from his right pistol
Captain Ranorin fell out of his chair as a loud explosion rocked his flag ship. The human captain wiped the blood away from his forehead.
"Status report!" the captain demanded
"Main guns and engine are offlin-" the crew member yelled back before her work station overloaded and killed her
"Sir! Were getting reports of borders! Were under attacked!" anther yelled
The captain pressed a button on his command chair as he sat back on it, "All marine teams! Repel the borders and fire teams get to your drop ships we still have a mission to carry out!"
A blade dancer materialized in front of the good captain and raised both of its arms into the air but the older man pulled out his side arm and fired the entire clip into the monster's face killing it.
The Justicar kicked a blade dancer in the stomach sending the undead to the wall were it hit its head. Arjun looked around the hall way that was previously filled with advancing cult monsters; he looked out the window that overlooked a hanger bay where VALOR marines engaged an infinite drone. The drop ships tried to leave the hanger bay but the infinite walker sucked all the aircrafts with its primary shoulder cannon before turning to a wall and knocking it over to get to anther bay.
Captain Ranorin pressed a button on his chair to access all available communication channels, "All personal, abandon the Dorian Grey and regroup planet side at the objective-" but before he could finish a blade dancer impaled the captain from behind his chair that severed his spine killing him instantly.
The Justicar broke down the malfunctioning door to the Seer's room where he found the brown cloaked figure sitting as he was meditating.
"We have to go!" Arjun urged
"Indeed, I feel a power presence on this vessel. Have you found the valgary?" the Seer asked
"I thought you would know." The Justicar worried
"I do not." The Seer answered as he got up, "We have to hurry before the infinite tear this vessel apart."
The Justicar looked into the hallway to see it was safe and motioned for the Seer to follow him. Arjun had his sword and shield ready as the ship rocked with explosions as the boarding parties became much more numerous.
The Justicar looked into a hanger bay that was amazingly not damaged from the rampaging drones. As Arjun got ready to give the signal it was safe the closet drop ship exploded in an orange fire ball.
The avatar of Pandemonium stood guard inside the hanger bay as it knew the Seer was heading towards it. The demi-god turned its unholy attention to the Justicar who stood at the entrance ready to battle against it.
The Seer with what little remaining energy he had left in him muttered a spell that froze the demi god in time.
"We don't have time for this, we must hurry. To the drop ship" he ordered after
Arjun nodded as he walked past the menacing demi-god that was trying to break out of its prison with all its unbridled fury. The Justicar closed the hatch to the drop ship when the Seer was seated before he went up to the pilot's seat and engaged the auto pilot.
The drop ship flew out of the hanger before it became fully engulfed in fire that consumed the demi-god. Arjun looked out the window to see the Dorian Grey in the far distance and in a bright flash the flag ship went up like a fire cracker as it exploded when the ammunition depots caught fire.
Arjun's heart dropped as he wondered if Liken was still onboard. The Justicar slumped to the ground in the cockpit with his back against the door that led to where the Seer was sitting. The human began letting out a deep cry as he hated himself for wasting the perfect opportunity to tell her Liken how he really felt and being so lucky that she was still alive when he found her at Dark Spire before he realized he would never have that chance again.
Mitchell Constantine and the major led a large compliment of marines and draconians through the passageways of the infinite complex to find Azerigan. When the large force entered the room that would lead towards the coordinates of the dragon the infinite ambush attacked.
Countless cult monsters began materializing around them out of thin air and engaged the VALOR forces in a bloody brawl. Humans, draconians, darkspawns, forgotten ones, and demons were ripped apart by the undead horde with limbs and gore being splattered against the metal walls of the underground infinite base.
The major discharged his plasma rifle into a gunner cult monster that turned the undead into organic slag but before he could acquire a new target a blade dancer stuck both its arm blades into his shoulders from behind that caused the major to fall to his knees where he was quickly decapitated by the same cult monster.
Mitchell Constantine who wore the standard power armour managed to avoid a blade dancer's attack from the front but the cult monster that came from behind impaled the former High general through his back and lifted the older human into the air where it tore off the rest of his limbs with its other arm before tossing the mutilated corpse away.
The screams of the VALOR force slowly died out as the cult monsters easily over ran the large group due to the sheer numbers alone that would add to the already endless army of the Void God.
Arjun could not pick up any active communication channels on any frequency; he was alone with the Seer. The brown cloaked figure led the way towards Azerigan as they avoided several hallways and rooms in which the Seer knew were traps set by Lord Vurdamis. The Seer pointed with his sleeve towards the next chamber were Arjun entered first with the ancient being following in close behind.
The Justicar saw a massive dragon was held down by huge chains in the middle of the circular room. As Arjun got closer to the huge beast an explosion near him threw the silver knight to the ground as the Vanquisher landed in front of him with the use of his jet pack. While the Justicar got back up to his feet the room became a meat freezer as the temperature dropped suddenly.
Lord Vurdamis appeared behind the Seer with his cold scythe in hand and wrapped his icy arm around his neck.
"This realm has enough heroes." Lord Vurdamis stated before his weapon tore through the Seer's protective barriers and clothing
The brown clothing of the Seer fell to the ground as nothing was inside to wear them anymore.
Legions of drones and cult monsters flooded the chamber as they too circled the Justicar with the Vanquisher aiming his weapon at his head only a few feet away. In a flash of red energy the avatar of Pandemonium also joined Lord Vurdamis's side through the use of its powerful magic.
"You won't win Vurdamis." Arjun said who was not surprised that Ethan would have betrayed his own race
Lord Vurdamis laughed as he stepped over the remains of the Seer, "Minions of the Void God, kill the Justicar, destroy Arjun Fiaz!" he ordered
The Justicar readied his weapons as stood alone in a sea of experiments and infinite drones all of them bent of destroying him in the most violent of ways along with the Vanquisher and avatar of Pandemonium at the vanguard of his demise.
