Forgotten CH 8
I could feel a wrap on my neck, it was a little tight and cutting off my air supply. I lifted my hand and pulled at it. My arms felt heavy and it took more energy then I thought to itch at my neck. I guess he had gotten me. I opened my eyes and was immediately blinded. I rolled over and doubled up in pain. My back burned with pain that reached to my lungs and I couldn't breath. I stopped moving to catch my breath and looked around. I was sitting on a plush white queen size bed with a down blanket. The walls were a sky blue with white trim on the two doors. One door was directly in front of the end of the bed, about 10 feet away. The other door set to my right was only about 7 feet away. There were two windows with white curtains hanging from silver rods.
Having my breath back I moved more slowly and dropped my feet off the edge of the bed. I slipped down to the floor and paused as pain pulsed through my back. This wasn't going to be easy to figure out where I was. I could smell a sweet scent coming form the door at the foot of the bed. I'd take my chance and look there first. I stumbled towards the door and gripped the handle. I felt it turn under my hand. I stepped back just as the door opened.
It was the person that showed up at Jases house. Was this his house? Why had he come to my aid. Either way it doesn't matter. I had nothing. He jerked back as soon as he saw me standing by the door. He looked down and hid black hair covered his face. He mumbled something and walked over to the night stand on the right hand side of the bed. He placed a small silver tray onto the night stand. There was a white bowl with a blue floral design on the rim sitting on the right side of the tray. A matching cup sat on the left side.
"I'm sorry Kyra." he said. His voice drifted on the air with a feeling of authority and prowess. He wasn't someone to be trifled with. Watched his facial features but I could only determine a certain sadness attached to his eyes. He wouldn't look at me and I was beginning to wonder why. I was still wearing the clothes that I had when I went to see Jase. Oh... Jase.
Tears swelled and fell over onto my cheeks. He was a traitor. Just like everyone else I had come into contact with. Quickly I wiped away the tears and walked over till I was standing right in front of him. I lifted his face so I could get a good look.
Pale skin gave way to remarkable sea blue eyes. His face was trimmed with his silky black hair and a diamond hung from his right ear on a two inch silver chain. It was odd. He didn't have any animal ears or tail. I wonder why. His face was calm and didn't show any emotion except for his eyes. I could easily see the regret and sorrow there. Why he was upset I had no idea. I took a few steps back and took a body view. A black suit with a red tie and black shirt below that. He was a finely dressed fellow. Almost as though he was about to go out to a fancy restaurant.
Nodding slightly I was satisfied with the view I had of the one whom saved me from death. I leaned against the bed and sighed. I could feel it. The sorrow welling up inside me. I wouldn't cry in front of him. He didn't deserve that. I closed my eyes and took a breath. I felt the air shift and his arms slipped around me. He rested his chin on my head leaving no space for him to see my face.
" It's ok you know. To cry once in a while." tears leaped from my eyes and dribbled down my cheeks and onto his suit. I tried to control it somewhat but it only made me choke up more and caused my throat to be sore. I shuddered and began to sob. I cried for Jase, my family and for this stranger whom would probably leave my life soon. My back pulsed in time with the shudders and in no time I could feel my self slipping into the folds of sleep.
