Hope and Dreams part 10
#10 of h+D
here we go, i hope you like it, even if it is a bit of a tease.
Issac stared at this Nathan guy. He looked sweet, tall, strong, and was certainly proud of what he was. Physically, he was like Vincent, clearly muscled even in his hoodie, tall, and gorgeous, every girls dream, and every envious or adoring straight man's target. Emotionally, he appeared to be just the opposite. Stable, aware and confident in his choices.
He had one blue and one brown eye, ash white fur that was long and lush, still fuzzy but not knotted, or matted, obviously taken care of with pride. Issac was looking up at him like he did every other guy, but he looked back with the same passion, an understanding, his eyes deep unexplored wells. Issac knew better than to fall for him without knowing who he really was, but right now primal instincts won out over his thoughts. Even so he managed to break the eye contact, just barely, but still.
The brown furred dog slowly became aware of the scattering crowd. Apparently it had worked. Nathan smiled a little. "I think we should get down." He said quietly, their faces still close, his breath intoxicatingly irresistible, like an unholy but oh so sweet temptation.
Issac blushed, dropping into the seat of the table they were on. "Umm, what was that exactly?" Issac asked in a calm tone, not looking Nathan in the eyes for fear of losing himself in them once more and perhaps not returning.
The wolf dropped into the seat as well. "Umm, I don't know what you guys call it here, but that was a kiss where I come from". He teased, his voice returning to its bold loud pride, the intoxication less intense now that they weren't so close. But it was still there. His scent, his form, his words...they all seemed to add to the attraction like a gravity gaining mass around him, drawing Isaac in.
"Yeah, I got that". Issac laughed a little. "But....you don't know me, and I don't know you". Issac stopped. "And that aside why did you pull me out of that mob in the first place? If I was new I wouldn't have done that".
Nathan shrugged. "I wanted my name known, can't make friends if you don't stick out. As for the not knowing each other." He pulled out his phone. "Let's start." He held out a paw. "Nathan Vector".
Issac shook the paw. "Issac Howl. Nice to meet you". They exchanged phones and quickly gave their contacts.
"Do you need help getting around?" Isaac asked like a nervous school girl, trying hard to keep composure. For all he knew the first sign of submission and Nathan would insert himself into his life by force. He didn't seem the type, but still, it was a bit scary being attracted to the unknown.
Nathan scratched the back of his neck, grimacing. "Is it obvious I'm lost?"
Issac smiled. "The first door you opened WAS a closet. Unless that was on purpose of course".
"Completely". Nathan assured. "But you obviously want to be around me so I'll let you lead me too.......3W1". he said, pulling out his schedule.
Issac smiled keenly, returning the remark. "Naw, if you know the way then I should let you be, it clearly kills you to be around me". He began walking away. "I don't want to be a burden on you."
"Urg fine I need help". Nathan moaned, following the dog. "Please Mr. Issac".
Issac smiled to himself. Nathan was soo....perfect!. Hot and cute, protective funny and not overbearing so far, even if he was a loose cannon. Maybe his luck was turning. "FINE, if I must. It's actually my first class too".
"Perfect". Nathan smiled. "I feel better already". Then Nathan took Issac's hand in his.
Issac pulled away. "I don't know you enough yet big boy".
It wasn't until then, that Issac felt even the slightest bit of betrayal toward Vincent. He didn't know why, they weren't together in an intimate way, he wasn't gay or bi, and he wouldn't have seen it as bad, but the thought appeared, Isaac just managing to push it away. Vincent didn't want to be more than friends......
Nathan smiled. "You knew me enough to kiss me on the table".
Issac felt his skin flush red under his fur. "Umm ahh yah..." He stammered then got his words straight. "You kissed me remember?"
"Right, and physically I moved your tongue all over mine, and forced your lips apart! Just admit you kissed me back". Nathan pressed as they started ascending the stairs to the 3rd floor.
"I don't recall what happened". Issac pressed. "I only recall you pulling my lips into yours".
"Oh I see, so after that instinct must have taken over and kissed me so you forgot". The wolf sounded as if he just made a big discovery, faking awe to tease Issac who grinned.
"I guess we'll never know".
......................................................................................
They had four classes together including lunch. English with Mr. Hopper, math first period, and gym. At lunch Issac introduced Vincent to his savior and explained why things calmed down.
"That explains a lot. So you just kissed him? You barely know him". Vincent commented, sounding a little weirded out.
"That's what I said". Issac explained, defensively. "But don't let that get around or we'll be hounded again".
Nathan seemed spacy and much quieter around the much bulkier fur. He introduced himself and added clever or teasing comments, but was deep in his own thoughts at all other times, shifting his eyes from Isaac to Vincent to random spaces in the cafeteria.
"I'll get to know the cutie then". Nathan said, hugging Issac who pushed him away a little.
"Your kinda freaking me out". Issac noted. "We just met and you're a wee bit obsessive".
"Not obsessive, just very enthusiastic and physical". Nathan said with a bit of pride. Issac made a note to knock on wood more often. "My family is kinda known to throw their full being into whatever we do".
Isaac was shocked that the word physical gave him chills. His thoughts wander to being in the wolf's arms, and just embracing the kind soul he hoped he was. Quickly he waved off the daydream with a bit of a blush forming, shifting in his seat to accommodate his new growing problem.
Vincent smiled. "Soo......obsessing".
Nathan made a thinking face. "Yes and no".
"Vague". Issac said, taking a bite of his fries. "Look, we'll hang out, get to know each other and see where it goes. Ok?"
Nathan smiled. "Is big bear here on my list of competition?"
The table went quiet and Vincent and Issac exchanged a long look before Vincent left in a rush. Issac didn't stop him. Nathan made a hurt face. "Sorry, I didn't know..."
"We weren't ever together". Issac stopped him. "I wanted to be but he decided he wasn't gay or bi. End of story. We're still friends but let's avoid that in the future". Issac's tone was stern and definitive, leaving no room for arguments. He quickly went back to his fries, eating fast and with a new vigor.
They were quiet for a moment. "Do you still have feelings for him?" Nathan pressed.
Issac was VERY gloomy now, any more and he swore a black cloud would form, flashing back to their short but bumpy time as friends, in his gloom not giving the good time their due credit. For some reason he felt confident Nathan would take this seriously and was trustworthy.
"Yes, but I don't want him to know". Issac informed the wolf, taking time to knock on the wooden tabletops. "I...I want to stay like we are if I can't go forward. We just click you know? We're close."
"He knows". Nathan pointed out, picking up his tray to leave, already aware of where the gym was. "That's why he's all broken up. I'll see you in gym, I need to head to my locker first".
Issac nodded, sitting alone to wallow in his own depression. And now to see what Jeromy had to say about it.
.........................................................................
He had a lot to say. Issac walked into the lockers already dressed so he didn't have to drop his pants in front of Jeromy, but was targeted all the same. Nathan was.....nowhere to be seen, so Issac didn't have him to worry about making a scene.
Issac couldn't help but smile though, Nathan was....amazing. He knew what he wanted and was a spot of stability in Issac's life. Even an obsessive one was refreshing. He knew he shouldn't fall for the wolf until he knew who he was. Would he have been the type to make a scene here?
"Hey queer bag". Jeromy said, pushing Issac into his locker. "I here you moved on. Goddamn you make me sick".
"What now?" Issac asked annoyed. "I'm not in the mood. Why are you bitching anyway if I did what you said?"
Jeromy looked around for witnesses and kneed Issac in the gut, making him double over in more shock than pain.
"I ain't bitching like a faggot would. I'm sticking up for a friend. God not only are you against nature as a homo, but YOU! A player?! God you dropped Vincent like a sack of potatoes for the first hot guy you saw didn't you. Some new wolf that...."
"It's not like that!" Issac interrupted, receiving another knee, cringing to the pain this time, but not doing a thing.
"Don't interrupt". He said in a frustrated hushed voice that was scarily calm and collected. "God you even kissed him up on..."
"He kissed me!". Another knee to the chest.
"What did I say?!. Look, you're gonna get up on the tables again today and make an announcement apologizing to Vincent for being a traitorous fag, then you're gonna move out of his house".
"I can't...." Issac managed instantly, a sound of authority and malice in his voice.
That honestly caught Jeromy off guard. "Can't or won't, bitch?"
"Can't!" Issac roared, actually startling Jeromy enough to loosen his grip. Issac pushed his paws away, walking toward the wolf, and making him back up. Issac could feel the shocked stares on him but continued anyway, the fury in him crackling to the surface. All of the oppression, disappointment and pain, and still it would even scratch the surface on his painfully large amounts of the three.
"You rich little asshole! My mom left for fucking rehab Ok?! I can't go home. Vincent was kind enough to offer a place to stay so I took it!. I can't do anything else!"
Jeromy was.......scared? Of Issac?!. He tried to interrupt but Issac cut him off. "No! Don't even say another word!" Issac felt empowered, like another force had taken over.
"Rich daddy will pay you out of your problems. I can't even say my Mom will see me up in the morning!....."
That was it, Jeromy punched him square in the face again, making Issac stumble back, yelp and grab his cheek in pain.
"Say something else about my father!" Jeromy roared. "Say it!" Issac now realized he had crossed a line, but even so he didn't regret his words.
Issac looked up in time to see Nathan tap Jeromy's shoulder.
"What do you want!?". Jeromy roared before one of the wolf's paws collided with the anti-homo's face, knocking him on his butt.
Nathan helped Issac up, a look of absolute shock on the bullies face. "Apparently I didn't know where here was". The good wolf said casually, a happy smile on his face. He put Issac on a bench, sitting with him. "Are you ok?"
Issac nodded weakly. "Thanks, I'll be ok".
"You bitch!" Jeromy said charging, a flame in his eye and blood on his teeth. "Don't think I won't hit you back! Sit down why don't you!"
Issac was scared FOR Nathan who didn't seem to register it. Another punch flew, and Issac flinched, the sound of a punch making contact loud in his ears.
He looked back up at the damage, but was shocked beyond words. Nathan had caught the punch! The tan wolves fist wrest beneath his white paw. Nathan stood up casually, letting the fist go.
"Stop now, I'd rather not actually fight in school".
At that moment the coach walked in and led them outside.
"Then after school pussy. The pizza shack across the street. Mono e' Homo".
Nathan nodded, leading Issac up some stairs to the field.
"That was actually kinda clever". He noted; his arm lightly lay around Issac's shoulder.
Issac nodded, but he didn't move the paw.
