It could be said that there was a scent to books that had been forgotten in the unending march towards progress, but it was more accurate to say each collection of books had its own scent. Dry, either a hint of dust or must depending on the location, and a sort of acrid tartness that came from the bindings and the glue. Cadogan Cadell hadn't thought of it much when he'd first discovered the hidden library, but as his classmates tried to figure out just what the aroma was that always clung to him, he'd been forced to think on it a little deeper.

The eighteen year old's painted black nails clashed with the bone colored paper as he turned the page, honey brown eyes pouring over the words from between bluish-black bangs. A gray shirt hung loosely over Dogan's skinny body, a dripping white skull emblazoned on the dust colored garment. Tight black jeans hugged his long legs, contrasted sharply by the yellow-orange sweatshirt, the hood pulled up over his dark hair. From within the shadow of the hood, his black gauge piercings and faint eyeliner only sold his dark aesthetic even more.

Dogan was somewhat aware of the passage of time, at least in the back of his mind, but it was so hard not to get lost in what he was reading. It had been a slippery slope, admittedly. He'd stumbled upon a cryptic puzzle in one of the textbooks he'd been using for the year. The puzzle led to an old book tucked away in the back of the school library, and that book had held the first spells Dogan had learned. They were fairly rudimentary at first, mostly dealing with perceptions and the elements, but one thing had led to another and eventually the revelation that there was an entire section of the library that could not be seen by others.

The true test of Dogan's abilities had come in the form of finding ways to skip class without getting caught, affording him time to stay in the library. Thankfully when it came time for big tests, he already knew enough that it wasn't an effort - at least to pass. Still, Dogan had been spending more and more time in the hidden library, learning the secrets of the universe. He'd even managed to sneak a microwave in so he could enjoy ramen while reading without having to leave. His fingers felt a bit dried out as he turned the page again and he rubbed the callouses together a little, unable to pull his eyes away from the written word.

Many of the spell books had been loose collections barely categorized into anything useful. Some were strings of words, some were complex hand motions, and a few required ingredients like some Shakespearean play... but Dogan's current book was different. The indigo-black bound book was laid out in a way that each spell built on the previous like component pieces. Dogan had been so captivated that he'd been nearly three hours late getting home from school the previous night, but how could he tear himself away? The final spell in the book was called 'the forbidden truth' and he had to know how to unlock it.

It had been some concern at first that there were no notes or hints as to what the forbidden truth was at first, but it was slowly dawning on Dogan that the truth would be different for each person. The spells used as the foundation had to do with honesty, reflection, acceptance, perception, and one's cosmic place in the universe. Dogan paused for a moment, lifting his pale hand. His fingers moved in an intricate pattern as if he was trying to make a marionette puppet dance. There was a faint crackle of purple light that jolted out across his hand, dancing between his fingers before his hand was enveloped in a purple glow. His otherwise soft brown eyes took on a violet hue as he practiced before finally drawing his fingers together in a pinched shape. The excess energy drained away. Dogan looked back at the book with curiosity. There were only ten pages left. If he read quickly enough, he'd have it done by the time the final bell rang... and if he was done in time, he'd be able to convince one of his classmates to play guinea pig for the spell. A smile crossed Dogan's lips as he imagined just how fun it would be to try out.

Sunlight filtered through the canopy of trees, hitting the water and illuminating all the way to the bottom. Underwater grasses swayed in the current and the river stones glittered in half a dozen different colors. It felt so strange and yet sublime to have such a peaceful slice of nature at the edge of the campus, at least to Jasper. The eighteen year old sat on an old worn out, weathered bench, his yellow and black north face baseball hat keeping the sun from shining off of his glasses. Puffy lips were held in a sort of peaceful, almost serene expression.

The wind picked up, blowing across the hairs of Jasper's legs as he sat, his khaki shorts letting his skin breathe a little. Jasper looked a little bit like a farmer's son with broad shoulders and a bit more meat on his bones than most. His brown t-shirt was a little tight where it cupped his chest, but over all he was strong and sturdy. Jasper exhaled a little bit, letting the day slowly roll off of him. He'd made it a bit of an unofficial habit to linger and wait until sunset to walk home. It was a long walk to an empty house and he never felt like he was in that much of a hurry. It felt a lot better being outside, taking in the surroundings. Sometimes he'd do homework on the bleachers during practice, other times he'd just wander around downtown. He had nowhere else to be and he didn't mind it. There was a peace beneath the trees... a peace that suddenly felt off, at least until Jasper turned his head.

"Dogan, what are you doing outside? I thought vampires were hurt by the light." Jasper grinned. Dogan gave a little bit of a wry smile.

"What can I say, you night sleepers must be rubbing off on me." he said, continuing the joke for a moment before he looked around. His violet eyes surveyed the distant field, noting that the football players had not yet assembled for their after school practice. A glance the other direction likewise highlighted the fact that no one from the track team was running the outer cross country track. Dogan merely smiled more, "I wanted to show you something, Jasp... Actually, I wanted to give you something." Dogan said. Jasper's dark eyebrow lifted above the rim of his eyebrows.

"You want to give me something?" he repeated back uncertainly. They were friends, sure, at least he thought they were... but Cadogan Cadell was notoriously antisocial and it wasn't any special sort of day or anything. They had mainly gotten along as sympathetic souls during forced school events and field trips, someone to bounce jokes off of each other to pass the time.

"Yeah, I want to give you something, a gift." Dogan repeated, "Come on, man, I think you'll like it." he said, waving Jasper over. Despite his hesitation, it wasn't exactly like Jasper had anything better to do. He stood up, rising a good six inches taller than Dogan as he moved over, his skate shoes crunching through the sawdust beneath.

"You didn't have to, it's not like I have anything to give y-" Jasper was interrupted as Dogan made a quick flurry of hand gestures and shot his hand forward, plunging it right through the space his chest happened to be occupying. Jasper's eyes widened in shock as he looked down, seeing Dogan's hand disappear inside of him... except not? There was a ring of purple energy swirling around his wrist, and Jasper didn't feel as if he had been mortally wounded by an inhumanly strong punch. He did, however, feel as if someone had reached inside of him and gotten a firm grip on his very soul. Dogan focused, biting his bottom lip, his blue-black bangs blowing in the afternoon breeze. The goth whispered a few very important words and then turned his hand as if he was turning a doorknob, opening something inside of Jasper.

There was a half-gasp, a shudder, a shiver, and then... a strange pleasure. It was subtle at first, almost effervescent, bubbling up and fizzing from Jasper's chest. A strange smile crept across his lips, the grin growing as he felt the breeze starting to tickle at new hairs that were appearing along the collar of his shirt. Dogan stood there, his hand still soul-deep in his friend's chest, watching in surprise as he saw curls of brownish-black hair poking up from Jasper's collar, only to realize it was ringing all the way round across his shoulders and the back of his neck too. Jasper let out a soft murmur, finding it hard to explain the sensation, but enjoying it nevertheless. As he grinned, the peach fuzz on his upper lip darkened. Pigment stained each strange, growing out from base to tip and replacing the translucent hairs with something more tangible.

As Dogan watched, Jasper's cheeks began to darken with stubble. It was pleasingly uniform, almost unnaturally so. Every follicle had awoken, growing out at the exact same rate. The shadow crept across both cheeks, following the contour of his jawline to meet on the point of his chin before it lifted upwards, rising to the flesh just below his puffy lips. Dogan was confused, the spell had been built to release Jasper's forbidden truth, but as he watched, it was releasing Jasper's masculinity? Some sort of second puberty? Dogan had no idea what was going on, but the spellbook had warned about interrupting the process.

Jasper stood there, barely even registering that his friend's hand was lodged inside of his essence. He felt the breeze blow against his stubble, tickling at the longer hair creeping down from beneath his hat. A lifetime of perfectly buzzed hair was wily and untamed for the first time. Jasper lifted a hand, watching as wispy brown hairs grew out of his knuckles first, then a triangle of darkness on the backs of his hands. The hair trailed back like the edge of a wildfire until it hit his wrists, metaphorically igniting the rest of his arm hair. Each strand he had grew longer, darker and thicker while hundreds and then thousands of others grew out.

A distant rumble of thunder echoed from the sky despite there not being a cloud anywhere in sight. Dogan started to wince and recoil, wondering if he'd made some kind of mistake, but he gasped suddenly as he felt a tingle in his own mind. His memories of Jasper were changing... The stubble the other now sported seemed almost tame and short compared to what Dogan was used to, but it seemed the larger man's body was doing its best to catch up to the goth's expectations.

A deep growl of satisfaction escaped from Jasper's large lips as the hair started to push out from his face, growing centimeter by centimeter in mere seconds. The uniform length of it all seemed to be maintained, keeping it all fresh and sharp as it extruded from his skin. As happy as Jasper was to be growing his beard, however, the changes were hardly limited to his lower face. His dark eyebrows grew darker as new hairs began to sprout in the space between, creeping across to subvert the image of normalcy. His arms were hairy enough that it was getting harder to see his skin, and the hair poking up from the collar of his shirt was now ascending up his neck, growing where hair rarely did, let alone on teenagers.

Dogan swallowed uncomfortably, starting to wonder just what he had done. This was Jasper's secret truth, but what did it mean? That he liked being hairy? That he craved being manly? That he was an old soul and this was how the spell chose to show that? A sudden creaking drew Dogan's attention as he looked down, inhaling sharply as he saw Jasper's shoes straining under sudden and intense pressure. The leather was being pried apart by the feet inside. Stitching popped, laces strained, ribber groaned. Even Jasper seemed to finally process that part as he felt a mounting pressure squeezing in on his feet, compressing and constraining them.

The larger male's luscious lips curled into a sneer as he flexed his right foot, pressing the arch up before letting it go and flaring his toes instead. The motion was more than the footwear could handle, the materials blasting apart as plump, long, hair kissed toes burst forth, sliding a good two and then three inches forward out of the split shoe. Realizing how effective the last demonstration had been, Jasper flexed his other foot, breaking out of his left shoe as well. He let out another moan, creaking his head to one side, then the other, murmuring happily. Oddly green eyes peered out from behind his glasses as Jasper looked at Dogan.

"You're right, this is a gift..." he said, his voice a little deeper. He raised a hand and ran his fingers over his three inch long , very full beard. It was nice, but not nice enough. He pet it, stroked it, and then grabbed onto some of the hairs, trying to pull them and coax them out longer.

"Jasper, I'm sorry, I didn't realize what this would do, at least not like this, I-" Dogan gasped as the larger man's hand grabbed his wrist. Jasper licked his lips and looked down into Dogan's purple eyes.

"Don't be sorry, not for this..." he whispered, "I can't hide it anymore... I'm not a cub, I'm not an otter, I'm not even a bear. I want more, I need more." he growled, trying to push Dogan's hand deeper in. Dogan gasped and Jasper let out a yell of pleasure, throwing his head back. His beard surged in its steady growth, pushing out of his face another inch, then another. It was full and round, thick and even. The hair growing out from beneath his hat reached his shoulders, then started creeping down his back. The shirt he'd already been wearing just a little bit too tight was reaching its limits. "I'm so horny, all the time!" Jasper groaned before he let out an inhumanly deep growl, spittle flinging from his abnormally sharp teeth.

Dogan watched as Jasper's cheeks tensed up, the skin looking a little tougher than it had been before. Hair was creeping up from the top of his beard line, eroding any sense of grooming. His unibrow got worse, but the most distinct change had to be how the dark hair that covered his shoulders had swept up the sides of his neck, making it indistinguishable where his beard ended and his hair began. He was coated, completely, and Dogan started to realize that was the point... He looked down at the ground, seeing how Jasper's shoes had continued to split and tear, parting to make room for his growing feet.

Dogan had never seen feet so big. They were almost obscene, and yet perfect. The way the toes wiggled and extended from the broad foundation. His arches seemed a little flat, but that just made the heels seem less obtrusive with how wide they were. His legs were practically fur covered, though the hair tapered off at his ankles other than a few patches on each toe knuckle, but with such big feet, Dogan was confused why they were so out of proportion. As he lifted his head back up, he seemed to have his answer.

Jasper had continued to writhe and shift in pleasure at his changes, but that bliss had been tempered with a bit of discomfort. A pop echoed through Jasper's chest cavity, then another. His spine was starting to decompress despite the gravity of the day. Fluid pushed into the discs and his vertebrae pushed apart, making room for each one to draw in more calcium and resolidify. It had taken a miracle for Jasper's shirt to remain intact before but even miracles couldn't halt these gains.

Another pop came, this one louder and shallower than the rest. It was the sound of a stitch popping under pressure. It was also the sound of the last stitch holding back the tide. Jasper's sleeves tore out as hair coated, burly, bulky shoulders burst free. A louder tearing came as Jasper bent his growing back and split it out along his spine, allowing meaty, hunky hairy muscles to nearly explode out of the shirt. With a slight shrug, the fabric fell to the ground, laying in tatters.

When Jasper rose back upright, he rose with an extra foot and a half in height. He towered over Dogan, not just hairy but distinctly furry. He had a lumberjack's beard down to his collarbone, his mane of hair even longer as it reached the middle of his spine. Only his forehead, nose and eyelids were free of hair and fur. While most of his furry coating was brown, his beard had a black gradient to it, making it distinct. His huge chest rose and fell, sausage like nipples not quite long enough to make it out of the thicket of fur over his huge pectoral.

Somewhere in the shock of unlocking such hidden truths in his classmate, Cadogan had been frozen in place, taking it all in as if some sort of observer rather than the instigator. As Jasper continued to grow taller and taller, the hand that had plunged into his metaphysical core had been drifting downward through his abdomen. Jasper's legs creaked and ached as the bones grew longer and ligaments stretched, but it wasn't until Dogan's had started to grow warmer that he finally looked back down, watching just in time as the swirling purple vortex bisected the belt on Jasper's shorts.

The metal erupted in a flurry of sparks, knocking Dogan back onto his flat ass. He coughed and winced, looking up as the belt gave way and Jasper's shorts erupted open, flinging out a shockingly erect, impressively long rod of manly meat. With a grunt of frustration, Jasper grabbed one side of his shorts and gave it a yank, tearing it clean off of himself. Fur covered balls flopped down on thighs thick enough to be tree trunks, leaving Jasper's impressive shaft without restraint. One hairy knuckled hand curled around it fondly, giving it a squeeze, then a hold, and then a stroke.

A drop of drool escaped from Jasper's thick lip, running into his beard as his shaft started to swell and grow inside his hand. As large as it was, it was easy enough to add a second. Just as his beard and spine and feet had grown, so too did his rod. Each thrust seemed to coax another half inch out of it, letting it surge and swell... but it wasn't just about having a big cock for Jasper, it was something more. He lifted the lower of the two hands off his cock and looked at the flesh, seeing how hard and firm it was... but it wasn't hairy enough yet. He worked his tongue over his teeth, swishing side to side before he suddenly spit. His saliva landed with a messy splat on the base of his cock and in moments the smooth skin looked as if he'd developed goosebumps before a few stray dark hairs burst through the surface.

A deep, menacing look crossed Jasper's inhuman face as he spat a few more times, using his hand to work the spit over his rod. More hairs emerged and, while not nearly as hairy as any other part of his body, his dick was hairy enough to feel like it blended in with the rest of him. Jasper moaned happily, tipping his head back, feeling the wind blow through his long beard and his even longer hair, breaking across his broad back and swirling through the thicket of fur covering his legs. When he finally inclined his head back to normal, he felt some faint semblance of focus returning to him, although the shocked look on Dogan's face seemed a little startling.

Dogan sat in the dirt, surrounded by dried leaves, dusty and smudged. His black jeans were brownish gray in places but he was mostly intact. Despite his position, he sat there staring up at an eight foot tall sasquatch wearing a baseball cap and foggy glasses and holding an erection the length of a summer sausage and well more than twice as thick. Dogan was about to ask a question as a stabbing pain suddenly lanced through his brain, maging the goth wince and hiss before he suddenly smelled something coppery. He reached up to wipe at his nose, wiping away a little bit of blood that had trickled down from a broken blood vessel.

There was one last clap of thunder overhead as the clouds dissipated, taking with them any memory of Jasper living as a human - at least for anyone other than Dogan or Jasper. In their minds they had foggy recollections of the way things had been, then far more vivid memories of Jasper growing up as a bigfoot. He'd started growing out his beard at twelve and had come out of the closet junior year. Now here he was, standing by the creek after school wearing nothing but his hat. He murmured a little, stroking his cock a few more times, sighing happily as it began to dribble silvery sticky sasquatch precum.

"This was your forbidden truth?" Dogan asked. Jasper reached up to scratch the back of his head, realizing he was trailing his hand through hair long enough to make metal rockers envious. He blushed beneath his thick beard.

"I guess I always had a thing for hairy guys, wanted to lay my cock across big bushy beards, or grow up to be hairy enough that someone could call me daddy even if I wasn't old enough to be... I started looking for pictures and stories on the internet about people growing beards and found stories about werewolves and satyrs and sasquatches. I guess I liked the sasquatch stories the most." Jasper said, looking down at himself in wonder, "You gave me this gift?" he asked. Dogan blushed, his pale cheeks practically lighting up like beacons.

"Yeah, I... uh, I learned this spell to unlock someone's forbidden truth and I thought I'd try it out." Dogan said.

"On me, without asking?" Jasper asked suspiciously, offering Dogan a hand. The goth took it, then yelped as he wasn't just lifted to his feet, but lifted off of them. He arced a foot into the air before landing unsteadily on his worn out shoes. Jasper shrugged a little, both at Dogan's answer and his inadvertent strength.

"I should be mad, but how can I be? I.... I have such amazing memories now of growing up as a bigfoot... And I know I'm going to pick up some sexy guys like this. I can skip right over that awkward gay phase and get right to the fun stuff." he said happily, leaning down to give ODgan a kiss. Dogan gasped, his lungs filling with the manly scent of sweat and trees before he felt powerful, delicious, juicy lips on his. He returned the kiss a littly shyly before Dogan finally broke off.

"I'm glad you're not mad. Dogan said. Jasper shook his head.

"Not mad, but still a bit horny. Would you, uh, excuse me for a minute?" he asked. Dogan nodded at that and turned, scooping up his backpack where he'd dropped it. The goth started the long walk back to the school, looking over his shoulder long enough to see that Jasper had gone back to jerking off by the stream. He worked his rod with one hand and used the other to comb his fingers through his long, thick beard. It was long enough for a thirty five year old, let alone the eighteen year old it was attached to.

Dogan kept walking, although his mind remained with Jasper. He'd found a shy, unassuming classmate and opened him up to his forbidden truth, releasing a very hairy, very gay sasquatch onto the world. It hadn't just been a transformation in that moment, either. The change had rippled backwards, rewriting the world and only they remembered the alternative history that had been replaced. The spell he'd been studying was that powerful... In retrospect he'd been lucky that Jasper enjoyed that forbidden truth from coming out - not everyone would. Dogan knew he'd have to be careful to research his next target, ensuring that they would enjoy and even embrace their truth when it came out, but if Jasper was any indication, it was going to be a lot of fun to let people discover their true selves.
