It was not until Joel's parents had shown up into the bunker with a few other generals and soldiers behind them. It was then decided that the Warriors of Mezzanine would be founded to save the world, with the proper gear, food and a ship to fly around the planet with. So it was then discussed that Joel would be the leader of the group, he protested a bit slightly but agreed to lead the team.
