#1 of An Evertech Tale

New story, new themes, expect a non con spy thriller kind of pet/master story! It's got a lot of build up but very soon it'll be hecca spicy :3

The plane ride was uneventful, the grey wolf spent the majority of it staring out the side window at the ground below watching as tiny cities flew by. He was well used to flying at this point, for his job it was basically a weekly occurrence. How else can one become one of the world's finest reconnaissance operatives otherwise? Not that anyone actually knew who he was, he made sure to keep his name out of the papers, all anyone who hired him knew was where to send the money. This time was no different, but the job description this time was annoyingly vague, all it really gave him was the coordinates and the directive to get a line to the datacenters within. He honestly thought it might be worth skipping the request but money was money at that point, he had wasted his last paycheck on, even he had to admit, was a obscenely expensive ring that was currently being idly spun around on his finger. This has to be a joke he thought as he saw a giant building standing all by itself surrounded by a forest.

"Just put me down as close as you can." The wolf told his pilot. " This shouldn't take me too long, may as well just stay here and wait."

The pilot liked the wolf enough, he sure tipped generously every trip. But the wolf wasn't the only one who paid for this trip, and the other benefactor was more than generous for the delivery. He was sure if the wolf knew he'd understand, money is king to the both of them and as he watched the wolf disappear into the woods he started the engine again and flew off.

"What a dick..." The wolf muttered, hearing the plane fly off above his head. The wolf couldn't really blame him, he's probably going to knock a few back in some nearby bar he thought. He had other things on his mind soon enough as he came up to the building. Up close it loomed high above him with a dark grey exterior and black out one-way windows. Well, if there was ever an evil building society, they'd have to take notes of this design. Running through scenarios the wolf could use for entrance, way too high to climb, no way 0 chance he'd go for that. The only possible option he had was pretending to be a lost hiker confused as to why there was a building in the middle of a forest. Clearing his throat and thinking of an accent to go with the wolf sauntered up to the door and pulled it open.

"Hello?" He called out to the empty lobby he entered. "Must be on break..." But as he passed by the empty receptionist desk he entered an empty office space, filled with empty cubicles. The wolf began to get unnerves as he walked down the florescent lit center walkway, feet almost crunching on a coffee-stained carpet. Passing cubicle by cubicle all empty, but showing what seemed like signs of use, sticky notes taped to monitors and phones with worn off numbers from being dialed so often. All this but no one in sight. Must be an office holiday or something... the wolf searched his mind but couldn't remember if it actually was a holiday. It's almost a little creepy still, he thought as he skipped his way past all the generic cubicles and crt computers towards the elevator, thinking about how to find the building's data center. Taking the elevator floor by floor seemed easiest if not risky, but the wolf wasn't looking to get his daily cardio on the stairs, and the building was seemingly abandoned anyways so it would probably be fine. Hopping in the elevator and hitting the button for the top floor the wolf leaned back admiring his own reflection on the shiny metal doors, watching the numbers ticking up and listening to the smooth elevator music coming gently through a speaker in the corner.

Finally arriving at the top floor the wolf stepped out into a completely different building, or what he imagined was completely different. The floor was a shiny grey, the carpet wasn't there, and the walls were the same ominous shade of grey. There were no cubicles, only desk after desk with futuristic looking monitors sitting on them. Getting a closer look at the desk he saw the glassy surface had letters built in, a keyboard? He curiously touched one of them and the letter lit up, bringing the thin glass display to life and the logo on the screen caused the wolf to break out into a cold sweat. Of course, of course it would be them, the wolf began to run to the elevator and started to jam his finger repeatedly on the button. It was all a setup, which of his contacts was in on it, did his pilot really sell him out like that?

"Welcome to Evertech's state of the art experiment facility. Make yourself comfortable, and please stop hitting the elevator button, it's not going to come." Said a strange voice the seemed to be all around him. "Do make yourself comfortable, you'll be within this facility for a long time."

The room began to fill with a pink smoke like substance, causing the wolf to begin holding his breath, but it wasn't more than a minute before his lungs were burning and he was forced to take a long, hard breath. The effects were near instantaneous, he felt the gas traveling through his body, making all the parts it touched unresponsive, eventually the only thing the wolf could do, was close his eyes and sleep.
