Travis held back a yawn from listening to his math professor drone on. Usually he would be listening intently, making sure to memorize all he can for any upcoming reviews or tests but his mind just wasn't there. All he could think of was the other day, what Duke told him.

The little side jobs he did for extra money. Buying all kinds of foods back to their dorm. Now that Travis thought about it, he never heard Duke complain about textbooks or anything that Travis frequently worried about paying. He began to wonder how much stress and worrying he could avoid by having money like that. He could actually enjoy college without getting drunk first. Just attending classes and spending time with Duke with nothing else to worry about at all.

The ferret began to tap his foot against the floor, watching the minutes on the clock tick away. His mind was made up and all he had to do was wait the rest of the class out.

Duke was sitting on his bed, flipping through a magazine he brought from a specialty shop. Ever since he confessed his crush on the ferret he found himself getting riled up with thoughts he rather not say out loud. Usually he would have no problem expressing his previous encounters getting intimate with other guys. But for some reason when he thought of Travis in that way he felt his heart skip a beat and his breath waver a bit. It brought about a slight feeling of worry. The weasel sought out a magazine of specifically male ferret models. But there was a bit of a problem. Most of the models on the page were nothing like Travis. They were all ripped, wearing confident grins and smirks across their muzzles. And the other models gave an air of pure femininity, they were cute to him but that wasn't like Travis either.

Travis was so different from anyone he had been with before. He was quiet, kept everything to himself. But he was a dork but in the best of ways. He clearly cared for others, feeling bad about how he used to act when he was young. Duke could admit that he did messed up stuff when he was young too, but he always chalked it up to being dumb and stupid. It made the weasel admire the ferret. Even when it was clear that Travis needed money he refused to call his parents and ask for it, something Duke knew for a fact he wouldn't think twice about. Travis carried an air of purity in Duke's eyes. Even when he heard the things Travis used to do to others and even watching him drink like he had been doing it like his whole life, Duke couldn't help but think that there was nothing Travis could do that was actually bad. Even as he flipped through the magazine of scantily clad ferrets that had a fur pattern similar to him, Duke couldn't see Travis in any of them. They were all just other ferrets on a page.

He tried to put Travis' face to the ones he saw but his mind just couldn't do it. It wasn't him. He couldn't even imagine Travis possibly flexing his biceps and wearing a shit eating grin. Or even contorting his back, lifting his tail with a pleading look on his face. Knowing the awkward ferret that Travis was, there was no doubt that in a moment like that the blackfoot would be a stammering, sweating, panicky mess. The image of Duke holding his paw and slowly leading him into a moment like that made his entire muzzle feel warm. That was what Travis was so different from anyone he had been with before. That dorky purity that the ferret carried contrasted with the very idea of the wild, rough and risky encounters that Duke looked back on with no feelings of regret or shame. But the idea of doing any of those things with Travis made him feel shameful. There was no way he could ask Travis to do things like that behind buildings or in bushes in the park.

He was snapped from his thoughts hearing the beep of the door handle. With as much speed as he could muster, Duke shut the magazine and slid it under the pillow. He hopped from the bed, quickly darting to the chair on the bed. He picked up the pencil that laid there, flipping through his digits. Travis opened the door just in time to see what looked like the weasel sporting a bored look on his face and flipping a pencil around to cure it. Inwardly Duke was breathing a sigh of relief, seeing the ferret was unaware.

"Duke!" Travis eagerly chirped. "I want in."

"Huh?" The weasel set the pencil down and turned to look at the ferret smiling at him. "Want in what?"

"I want in on those jobs you do," Travis answered with a certainty in his voice. Duke felt that creeping worry that only hovered above him now taking root.

"A-are you sure about that, Trav? I mean I make enough for the both of us and you don't have to worry about anything. If you need to pay for something I got it," Duke offered. Travis gave a small huff but continued trying to convince his new boyfriend.

"I know that and I really appreciate it, Duke. Really I do. But I can't just keep taking money from someone else. Besides I've done "odd" jobs before," Travis defended.

"Oh, you have?" Duke couldn't hold back a chuckle.

"Yeah, I come from a farm town. You think they grew only vegetables and fruits there? One of the best summers I ever had was from when the two of us played delivery boys," Travis chuckled a bit. Back then they were just focused on the money and didn't really take the job too seriously. Thankfully they were smart enough to actually make the deliveries and not get into more trouble than they usually did. "We were the neighborhood delinquents so nobody really saw us acting out of the ordinary anyway."

"Ooh, a former bad boy turned good," Duke chuckled, getting up from the chair. "Alright, but this isn't handing off bags of grass to the folks around the corner. I mean, yeah that's illegal but what I'm doing is really illegal."

"And that is?"

"Work for a boss. A powerful one. I found his number in one of my dad's books. After I told him who I was, that was just the end of it. He never met him but I got calls from his boys telling me what I need to do. Sometimes it's breaking into places and stealing stuff and other times it's just breaking stuff. I don't really get the reasons behind it but once the job is done the next day they wire me a bunch of money. You sure you're up for that?" Duke asked.

Travis didn't answer at first until he just burst out laughing. He held onto the edge of the desk, trying to catch his breath. "I-is that it? Duke, I used to do things like that for fun."

"You used to throw bricks through windows of shops for fun?"

"Well it was more like setting the trash behind them on fire. Or sometimes we would break the locks on their doors. There was one time we got banned from a video shop so we took a kid's scooter and threw that through the window," Travis recounted casually.

"Are you sure that you're the same Travis now as back then?" Duke asked.

"Hey, we were troubled kids. My parents always worried about the bills and didn't pay attention to me. Gid's parents got a divorce and he got stuck with his evil mother. So both of us just got together and acted out. When we would get caught they would just punish us without talking to us so we only rebelled harder. I'll admit we got a little control once we got older. But once we got to high school we kind of grew out of it, I guess. I feel about that stuff but I also kind of miss just breaking stuff whenever I was angry," the ferret explained.

"Huh, kind of sounds like my life. My mom split from my dad. He just married someone new the next month. I can't stand her. She always tried to order me around even though she knew nothing about me. She always told my dad that I could always be better. And he believed her. He started to get on my case about my future when I was just in 7th grade! Instead of breaking stuff I just bought new stuff and snuck off to hook up with guys," Duke looked over to see Travis blushing at that last part. "I guess we all have our ways of getting through it."

"Yeah, I guess we do," the ferret nodded.

"I'll call the boss' boys and tell them you're interested. You can't just up and act without his knowledge. He would take that as a threat or competition and send someone after you. Once they know I gotta partner we'll be able to work together and get paid together," the weasel explained.

Travis nodded and sat down on his bed, thinking of his future of having money that he could use to pay for anything in his way. Doing things that he used to do back in the day with Duke was actually exciting to him.

"You ready for this?" Duke asked. Leading the ferret around the corner of another block. The two of them had been walking around for a while, a pretty far distance from their dorms. Travis recognized the area from his bus ride to the university. It was the surrounding college town, usually bustling with students mingling, skipping or even realizing they were late for their classes. Of course there were many shops and stands that existed solely from the students who spent their money there. Money he didn't have.

But it was 4 AM, no shops were open. Mostly empty streets, flickering street lamps and the iron gate that separated the properties. It was clear to the blackfoot that the objective of the night was to vandalize a shop that had missed its monthly payment to the boss. Seemed simple enough. Do whatever they needed to and get out of there. So enough easy money would be brought back to him and Duke. That gave Travis the courage to keep following Duke through the once familiar grounds now turned ghost town. Duke didn't falter in his pace, walking down the sidewalk, taking the crosswalks and even waiting for the lights to change. It was important for them to keep as low a profile as possible, look like two ordinary guys walking back home after another one of those college ragers.

With one more stride across a street with no cars coming back or forth the source of their next payday was in sight. An ordinary enough looking shop, a small little cafe. It was just popular enough to compete with the other shops and the owner apparently made enough to make their monthly payments before. Striding closer it came into view for Travis as well. Unlike most other cafes this shop had no outdoor chairs or tables to take a moment and enjoy your purchase. Looking up, the ferret read the name of the place. Milo's. Seemed to be named after the owner who stopped paying what was owed.

"You're gonna be the one to do it," Duke finally spoke after a whole two blocks worth of walking. Both shorter mammals wore dark and baggy hoodies, making sure to cover as much of their faces as possible. Travis stopped alongside him, first looking at the closed shop then back to Duke. "It's pretty simple. All you gotta do is take one of these--" The weasel pointed down at the broken chunks of the sculpted concrete making up the curb. The chunk Duke drew attention to was just a bit smaller than the average brick. Travis did so, reaching down and lifting it up. It had some good weight to it and could definitely do some damage, something the blackfoot was prepared to do.

Duke pressed himself close to Travis' side, gripping the ferret's shoulder. "--I want you to take it and throw it right in the window." The weasel gave the instructions in a slow deep tone directly in the ferret's ear. A shudder ran down Travis' spine from the sounds being whispered in his ears. The tone of Duke's voice made his chest feel light and his muzzle felt warm. With his other paw Duke reached forward, drawing small circles around the ferret's chest. Feeling the weasel's claw tips through his hoodie made Travis' mind foggier. He knew he had to focus at a time like this but he also wanted this moment to last as long as it could. He had no idea why Duke was doing something like this but he was not going to complain. Duke pressed his claws deeper, poking through the fabric, earning a small whimper for Travis. The smirking weasel knew exactly what he was doing, riling his boyfriend up. There was a job they needed to do but it was an easy one and they had plenty of time. Why couldn't he take a moment to just enjoy the time he got to spend with the ferret. He could hear Travis' breathing and the whimpers that he was clearly trying to keep down. It was so cute and exciting. The fact that he was out here making trouble with Travis was even more exciting.

Travis pulled away from the weasel's touch, confusing his boyfriend. "I can do it," the ferret spoke in a tone that made Duke freeze this time. His voice sounded so sure and serious, nothing like the Travis he was used to. Travis looked down at the slab of rock in his paw and back at the cafe's display window. With one swift motion he chucked the object towards the shop, careening directly into the target. Travis kept his head down as he heard the shattering and falling of the glass. Duke grabbed his paw and led him away, running down the sidewalk. Travis kept pace with the weasel, his heart racing and his thoughts all over the place. Duke took many lefts and rights, ignoring the signs and lights of the streets and crosswalks. He led the two of them as far away from the crime scene as fast as he could. They got off the main street, crossing into the block they previously came from. There were a few small shops but mostly houses either rented out to students or turned into frats.

Duke ducked between two of the shops at the end of the block. It was a small alleyway filled with boxes, discarded appliances and various thrown away things they could easily hide behind. Duke crept towards the edge of the alley and took a look around. It was unlikely that anyone had seen or even followed them that far but it was better safe than sorry. While Duke did that Travis used the time to catch his breath and process everything that happened. He did it and it felt so... good. The sound of the glass breaking replayed his mind over and over again. It reminded him of his days with Gideon. The fox did the same thing when he would get carried away, pulling him away and finding somewhere to hide. Those were the times when they could feel their hearts pounding through their chests. Gideon would pull him close, taking charge. He was always pent up and so was Travis. In those nights hiding from the consequences Travis would waste that time underneath the fox, releasing all the frustration that led them to terrorize the neighborhood in the first place.

Letting out a sigh of relief Duke rushed back to the ferret's side. "You did it, Trav-" He was pushed against the boxes they were hiding behind. This time Duke was trying to process what was happening. One minute he was looking out for anyone who would be looking out for them but in an instant Travis' lips were pressed to his own. Feeling a relaxing warmth spreading throughout him, Duke wrapped his arms around the blackfoot, pulling him closer. Travis ran his claws in the soft fur under Duke's hoodie, earning some soft moans escaping through their kiss. It took Duke by surprise, feeling like the ferret was taking charge. But he wasn't going to be outdone, daring to push his tongue into Duke's muzzle. Travis embraced the gesture, wrestling his tongue against Duke's. This caught Duke off once again until it finally clicked in his head.

This wasn't the first time that Travis had done this.

It was a realization that hit Duke and stunned him for a moment. But it was a soft whimper from Travis that brought him back. He may have been the lead when they were in front of the cafe but now it was Travis that was taking the lead. In all the nights that Duke spent with other guys he was the one in charge, starting the events and leading into others. What Travis was doing was surprising but it felt good. It felt right. Duke relaxed, closed his eyes and tasted the ferret on his tongue. He could feel his claws stroking his chest fur and the dooks escaping between their kiss. His muzzle felt like it was on fire, his heartbeat was so quick. The weasel actually felt nervous. That same nervousness he felt during his first time....

Travis broke the kiss, leaving a thin trail of saliva between the two of them. Taking deep breaths of the cool air eased the burning of his lungs. Underneath his hoodie felt hot as fire itself. He was about to lift it but Duke beat him to it, taking charge once again. Another dook escaped Travis' lips as his hoodie was pulled up and over his head in one swift motion. A smirk spread across the weasel's muzzle seeing clear evidence that Travis was enjoying himself. But it was quickly replaced with shock as Travis pulled his paws lower down the weasel's chest to lift his hoodie as well. Both were tossed to the side leaving both the small mammals in their ordinary shirts and pants. The environment and the worry of being caught for their deed had melted away. The only thing each of them could see was each other. The smirk returned Duke's muzzle, reaching into his back pocket to pull out a golden flat square. Along with it was another small packet with a clear liquid inside. Travis' breath caught in his throat, but he reached forwards. He took the clear packet in his own paws but pushed away the golden packet.

"I trust you," Travis said softly. Duke's heart skipped a beat. He trusted him? But it was their first time and he didn't want him to use... The weasel's mind was drawing a blank until Travis crawled closer, reaching his paw forwards to touch the tent in Duke's jeans. The touch earned a surprised squeak from Duke. Travis chuckled at the sound, looking up at Duke once again. In that moment Duke understood what he should do. This wasn't like all his previous nights with other guys. Travis wasn't anything like them. He was going to be gentle with him, make sure he felt good too. After all, Travis trusted him.
