#1 of Senyn's New Life

(Senyn: Alright... where to begin... I suppose the very beginning would be best.)

Once upon a time...

(???: What does that mean!?)

(Senyn: Hey! You can't be here!)

(???: Why not!?!)

(Senyn: Because they don't know who you are yet! Now shush, before you spoil things.)

(???: What if I don't want.... Mmph!!! Mmmmeyyy! Met Mo!)

(Senyn: I told you... wait till they know more! Now be good.)

(???: WHAT!? Be good!? You're my...! MMEY!!)

(Senyn: ANYWAY...)

(???: *wriggles free and snaps at fingers.* Hmph... fine! Write your memoirs!)

(Senyn: Ok... Now whe...!)

(???: Hi! My name ismmmph Mema!!)

(Senyn: Git!!!)

(???: *Laughes hysterically.* Oh fine!)

(Senyn: Ok... So.)

Ok... First, my name is Senyn, Sen for short. I'm a normal earthly college student studying for a chemistry degree with a physics minor. One day, in my advanced molecular physics class. The jerk of a teacher, Dr. Turtle, as he was so endearingly nicknamed..., decided it would be funny to make us calculate the probability of all the atoms comprising our body quantum tunneling to another point in space. Of course, this was all theoretical, such is the nature of any college level advanced physics course, but it was a theory that had yet to be proven wrong. Which meant it was still valid in the professor's book...

The class was an hour long, and the task took us about 45 minutes to complete. Which is to say, the smartest guy figured it out, and it was spread around the classroom in a matter of seconds since we were allowed to work in groups. The answer? Was a near infinitesimally small percentage... which Dr. Turtle then wanted us to use to figure out the approximate time we would have to wait for such an event to occur... Thankfully it took only a few minutes for the professor to get bored of watching us sweat and he gave us the answer. Just to make fun of us one last time before we took the chance to bolt at the end of class. The second answer? We would have to wait an immensely long time, possibly longer than the universe would even exist, and certainly longer than any living thing could hope to escape death.

Finally the clock struck 2:00 PM and my last class of the day, and the week, was over. I could finally relax, and after stopping by the on campus eatery to grab a hoagie, I headed to my room to do the little bit of homework I had for calc two before goofing around on the computer friends. Little did I know how relevant my tortuous physics lesson was going to be...

I fell asleep that night like any other. I stayed up till about midnight BSing with friends before signing off and climbing into bed. I fell asleep quickly, but I was awakened in what felt like a short while later to find I was outside, and now entirely nude!

At first I thought I had been the random victim of some jackass's cruel dormitory prank, but if that had been the case. Wouldn't they have left me somewhere I was sure to be seen and laughed at...? And I why wouldn't I have a bed between me and the leaf litter on the ground? I may be a heavy sleeper but even I knew I wasn't that bad...

Another thing was that I could barely see my surroundings. It wasn't for lack of light, but rather that I no longer had my glasses. Now, I wasn't blind but I was near sighted. So anything more than a foot away from my eyes was blurry and anything more than two feet I couldn't discern more than general lines and form.

Before I officially declared myself lost however I decided to have a look around, just to see if I could find any of the college landmarks I had become familiar with over the two years I had been there. Sadly, after an hour of careful hiking I was still empty-handed. There wasn't even an abandoned stoner fire circle or a single piece of trash that I had been able to see with my limited vision. I was alone in an unfamiliar forest with no protection whatsoever against the elements. Needless to say I was praying what I had learned years ago in the boy scouts would serve me well. Though I'm sure they never intended for any of us to actually be lost in the wild...

Something I had begun to pick up on though was that the foliage didn't even seem familiar. The leaves were similar to, but didn't match the species of trees I was familiar with. There were no oak or maple trees, and even the brush didn't seem familiar. That is except for one type of plant in particular. Throughout my hike I found burr plants, like what my dog, would exit the woods covered in. And which took me literally hours to pick and comb out of her fur...

Where ever I was, it was like I was dumped in a biologists paradise of undiscovered species of plants and animals. Some of the sounds echoing through the trees seemed entirely different from anything I had heard at the college or anywhere else I had visited in my lifetime. There were still chirps and tweets from birds, and the sudden scurrying of smaller creatures, though I couldn't see what they looked like.

After hiking for that hour I decided it was better to find a place to settle in for a while, perhaps start a signal fire somewhere where I wouldn't burn down the forest. First on my agenda though was to find a place with some food and water where I could build a shelter. There was a small stream running through the forest I was in so I settled down and started looking around for anything that seemed edible. I found lots of nuts, berries, and some fruit, but since I couldn't positively ID any of them I was torn between going hungry for a time or taking my chances at picking a non poisonous plant. Before I became too desperate however I had an idea. If I gathered samples and simply let the wildlife choose what they liked, perhaps I could discern what was edible and what would either make me sick or kill me...

So after picking many different samples, I set them in a small pile where I could watch them from a short distance without spooking my informants. While I waited though, I set about building a shelter.

Not particularly liking the prospect of bare ground with bugs and leaves from the last fall season, I choose the broadest leafed tree I could find and began pulling branches from within arms reach. It wasn't long before I had a decent lean-to crafted by leaning branch after branch against the trunk of another tree until no light could get through the leafy cover. I also elected to strip some of the leaves to create a softer floor.

Once my new home was finished I squinted in the direction of my berry and fruit offering. I saw some kind of strange creature munching on one of the larger fruits, which I was glad to see since the tree had still been rather loaded with the things. The creature itself though... was quite strange looking. Even with my blurred vision I could see it had six legs, and was possibly reptilian in nature. It was "standing" on its hind four feet while holding the fruit and gnawing at it with the other two. Despite my curiosity however, I decided against approaching the creature to study it further, both due to my growing hunger and being cautious about strange things that could potentially harm me. So I simply went off to find the tree with the fruit and gathered up an armful to last for a while. After tasting the fruit and waiting a few minutes I was satisfied it was sufficient nourishment. It didn't taste half bad either, kind of like an apply peach.

And so I lived for two days and nights. I built a fire to try and catch the attention of some kind of help. One thing I did look for the first night was the moon and the stars. If I squinted I could make out some of the brighter stars, but to my dismay... none of the familiar constellations I knew. Not even the north star found my gaze. It was as if I were on an entirely different planet, and as that first night progressed... I realized I must be. The small moon I was always able to spot in the night sky was accompanied by a second, much larger moon. I was amazed at how large this supposed moon was, it could have been another planet with how big it looked! However, something else I noticed brought my focus back to the small moon. It seemed to be orbiting very slowly, if at all.

I thought for a short while before I had a flash of inspiration. Perhaps I could use the moon to guide my way and travel. It would probably be better to actively look for some kind of civilization while I tried to survive. Especially since my signal fire had failed to attract any attention so far.

I spent a few more days where I was, watching the two moons to see if my idea would work. Sure enough the large moon rose and fell each night, while the small one barely moved in the sky. Satisfied with my observations I awoke on the fifth day and abandoned my camp to start traveling in the direction of the small moon. However, since the moon was not as visible during the day I was having a tough time keeping my bearing without glasses. From then on I elected to travel during the night, and over the next few nights I fell into a routine of finding a source of water, gathering a sampler to feed the wildlife and learn more about what wouldn't kill me, and finally building a shelter to rest in during the day until I could begin once again.

After traveling for another four nights, I felt like I had made very little progress. Though I had expected as much since planets were huge and I had only been moving for a few nights. However, I was about to have a rather interesting day... one that would change my entire view of my situation, as well as my understanding of this planet and the universe.

As my fourth night of traveling came to an end I started to make camp as normal. This time I was lucky enough to again come across a small creek, which I eagerly quenched my thirst in and washed off a little of the dirt and sweat I had gathered since my last encounter with any significant amount of water. Once I had cooled off, I made another home out of the same tree materials as my first night and quickly fell asleep.

A: {I slept for quite a long time before waking, however as I roused and stretched in my small home I heard something... out of the ordinary. I catiously listened for more of the noise and found this sound... I recognized. It was the sound of someone crying, but there was something more. It sounded like whimpering and whining mixed in with the cries. Forever the sympathetic soul I was, I silently crawled out of my lean to and looked around. Without much effort I found the source of the sound was a nearby tree. I tried to catch a look at what the creature was but without my glasses I couldn't determine what it was... It looked to have a large tail, and ears on the top of its head. Was it an animal or... a person?

I slowly moved a little closer, taking tentative steps so as not to startle the creature and provoke an attack. As it continued to whimper and cry my approach went unnoticed. I got close enough to actually get a good look at the creature and my heart raced in excitement. This creature was a furry! It had fur, a large bushy tail, pointy ears! Everything just like the small cultural group back on earth had imagined!

"H-hello...? Are you ok?" I said softly as I gently reached out to lay a hand on the creature. At my touch the creature raised its face from its fingered hands. Tears wetted the fur around its eyes but its expression turned to fear and shock as it looked back at me. With a yelp it leapt from where it was, putting five feet between us. Once again I couldn't believe my eyes. It walked on two legs! It had been sitting down but now it was standing upright and ready to run or attack. "No no... please don't run." I said softly and tried to sound comforting. I offered my hand to the creature and knelt down more to its level. I was 5'11" by earth measure, and this creature was probably right around 5' itself.

As I offered my hand in hopeful friendship the creature looked me up and down. Unfortunately I forgot I was still naked... and the creature noticed my lower parts and quickly looked away. It blinked and looked back at my face as I realized what it saw. "S-sorry..." I said as I blushed and shyly covered my parts. The creature sniffled again and looked at me suspiciously before speaking up for the first time. It's voice was surprisingly soft and sounded feminine, so I figured maybe this was a girl, though that didn't help my embarrassment...

Whatever the girl was saying I couldn't understand. It was a different language to be sure. From what I could see with my limited vision the girl looked to have canine features, and whatever language she was speaking seemed to have similar sounds the dogs at home made. The girl spoke again, though this time with a more stern tone as it's bravery seemed to come back, but it didn't help me understand.

"I don't know... what you're saying." I said slowly and offered my hand again, hoping to show her I meant no harm. The girl looked me over again and averted her eyes a second time before looking back at my face and barking something else at me. After she spoke she turned and ran. "WAIT! Don't leave!" I yelled after her pleadingly, but it was too late, she was gone.}

B: [It felt like I was only asleep for a few hours before I awoke to something jabbing me in various places across my body, including my butt and feet in particular. At first I thought it was some kind of animal, tasting me, or something... so naturally I freaked. With a start I rolled and kicked at the thing touching me. I saw it was a stick after I kicked, but whatever was holding the stick yelped, and ran. I could still barely see, but it looked to have walked on two legs, and it had... yelped! Just like a dog back home! Cautiously, I got on my hands and knees and crawled to the door to look around, wondering if it would come back once the scare I'd given it wore off. My heart raced as I suddenly realized I was helpless if it attacked. Luckily, I managed to spot the creature before it could attack me, however, it seemed to be quite scared of me as it peered around from a nearby tree. I couldn't really tell, but it looked like a small girl, or... a large animal. I only assumed girl because I saw the creature wearing what appeared to be clothing similar to a dress. My other observation though... left me quite intrigued. The creature seemed to have pointed ears on the top of its head!

Hoping I could finally get some answers I started to come out of my shelter when I realized... I was still naked... I was always a modest and shy person and since this person seemed to be a girl I quickly blushed and crouched to cover myself. The creature tilted its head slightly as it came out from behind the tree a little. Still very embarrassed I knew I had to do something... So I stood, but kept my hands covering my neathers.

The creature stopped and stared as I rose. Clearly it wasn't expecting me to be able to stand and walk. Despite its surprise it saw I wasn't going to advance, and its own curiosity got the better of it. It slowly stepped closer and made a few soft noises as it held out what looked like a fingered hand. As she offered her "hand" to me and kept making soft soothing calls, I cautiously took one of my hands from my lower half to reach towards hers, giving my palm.

The creature blinked and looked back at my face to try and see my intentions before it carefully gave me its hand. As it did I took the chance to look the creature over... It was a real life furry! And it looked like a fox too. I could hardly believe my eyes... or my touch. It's hand laid against mine and I felt the tender pads of its palm, and the fur on the top of its hand.

"H-hello... I'm lost, can you help me?" I tried to ask it, speaking slowly since I didn't know if this creature would understand me. Of course... it didn't, and just studied me quizzically. It spoke in response to me but just as it didn't seem to understand me, I couldn't understand it. It's language reflected it's apparent canine origin with barking, growling, and yipping sounds mixed with the supposed words. The creature's voice did sound somewhat feminine though, and with the dress I figured perhaps this was a female.

When I failed to answer the girl she said something else. "I'm sorry... I don't understand." I answered softly, getting the girl to cock her head to the side slightly. She looked me up and down once more and noticed now that I still had a hand shyly covering something between my legs. After a moment she seemed to figure out why I was covering myself... She blinked and looked away as she took her hand back. I started to worry I had given the wrong impression, but before I could do anything more the girl said something quickly, turned, and ran away.

"Wait! Please! I'm sorry!" I yelled after her, figuring I just blew my one chance at making a good impression on whatever she was. Now I was going to become some creepy legend among the creatures... Like a bald horny bigfoot...]

Still... if I could salvage any part of my position I figured I should follow her and see if I could find out if there were others. This one had looked like a child, and where there were children, there were bound to be parents. Also since she wore a kind of garment I figured there was bound to be some sort of relatively modern civilization! Just maybe... they would have a way for me to get back home...

Before I could even attempt to follow the fox girl though she was gone, running through the trees she must have known like the back of her hand, urm... paw. However, I knew the general direction she went, and though it was a detour from my previous path of following the moon I followed the lead. As I moved through the forest though, I found nothing... no clearing, no streets, no sign of a city, town, house, not even a trace of my little fox friend. That is until I heard leaves crunch behind me.

My senses might not be as acute as an animal's but if something was behind me, and close enough for me to hear, it was enough of a reason for me to be afraid. I spun quickly, scared of being attacked, but I only found the girl. She was shyly holding up some clothes as if offering them to me. Her tail swayed slightly behind her as she yipped something at me. I blinked curiously for a moment before reality hit me... I was standing there on guard, but not covering myself.

Once again shyness overcame me, and I quickly covered my shame as I blushed. The fox girl seemed to giggle a little this time and looked away, but still offered the clothes. She seemed to be making an effort to either look away or up at my face. I smiled at her understanding, and shyly took the garb.

'Wow, she's smart.' I thought to myself as I held her offering up in front of me to try figuring out how it fit. I expected to find a few different articles, pants, a shirt, etc. Instead, I found only one piece, a robe, or gown of sorts. Needless to say it was a strange thing I was holding. It was one piece, but seemed to incorporate both pants and shirt. Not knowing how else to try fitting into the thing I turned it around curiously. The other side, which I assumed to be the back, was mostly open. There was a six inch wide band that seemed to act like a belt while the upper most part of the garb had another loop and appeared to fit like an apron.

Thinking I figured out how to put it on I stepped into the bottom loop and bent over to slip the other loop over my head. As I did I failed to notice the fox take another shy look at me. I couldn't see through her fur but she blushed as she smiled and looked away quickly, having got a glimpse of what she wanted apparently...

The robe was quite comfortable once I had it on, though I felt kind of silly since my first observation of the girl's clothes had proven right... it was more like a dress than what I was used to wearing. The "shirt" part connected to the lower part in the front but left the back completely open to where the "belt" was, which rested right above my tail bone. Below the belt the garment split into five draping pieces, one centered over my nethers, two along the sides of my legs and two covering my buttocks, with a split in the middle that I assumed was meant to leave room for a tail.

Once I was dressed the fox girl yipped happily again and eagerly reached for my hand. Her almost toothy grin was a little intimidating, but the way she took my hand was very gentle. However, she quickly started to tug me through the woods, leading me somewhere. She was quick on her feet, but with my longer stride I managed to easily keep up. Or perhaps she was taking it easy on me, I couldn't tell.

It wasn't a long walk before the trees suddenly opened into a large clearing. The sun shown through the tree canopy in the center, but with the spreading branches of the trees most of the area remained shaded. As we entered though I realized there was a group of mounds in the clearing. They didn't look naturally occurring, and one large bump in the very center glinted in the golden ray of sunlight. It didn't take me long to figure out this must be a home. I'd never seen such a strange, yet elegant underground home, but then again... I'd never been to another planet...

As my new friend tugged me along into the clearing I soon noticed a divot in the largest center mound. It led to a door much like those we had on earth, and the entryway was a set stone awning. Before I could truly admire the houses design however, I saw a rather angry creature headed our way. Even without my glasses I could see the creature was quite fierce... Let alone it possessed an impressive set of large pearly whites in the muzzle... It seemed to be barking orders or insults at the girl, but as it neared I could see its gaze and snarl were pointed at me!

Terrified I froze and stared at the creature as it approached. It took slow deliberate steps as it barked, yipped and growled in what I knew now must be their language. Before long I noticed a sexual marker on the creature though I wasn't very proud of myself for it... The creature was either a male with boobs or a female, but that was all I had to go on, since it wore the same garment as me and my friend.

Still unable to find the courage to move I could only watch as the vixen came closer and took the girl by the hand to pull her away from me. The little girl protested and shook free of the older vixen's grip. Much to my relief, my friend stood between me and the vixen with a determined and defiant expression. The older fox didn't calm down, or halt her words at the little one's actions, but her rage no longer seemed aimed at me. Instead, she seemed to be scolding the little one. However, like a stubborn earth child, she seemed to be arguing in my favor. I only wish I could have understood them to know how my case was going...

(???: I know what we said!)

(Senyn: I said no! Not yet!)

(???: You know? You're no fun! Those people are DIEING to know more about me! Hmph!)

(Senyn: Yes... I know, but they need to know other things first.)

(???: Grrr... explain it later! They should know you're my MMM!!! *Growls*)

(Senyn: Be good for once! I'm not... uhh, "one of those things" anymore! Your mother said so!)

Much to my relief the young fox didn't back down or turn on me. She kept arguing until finally the older fox stopped yelling and rubbed her temples with a growl. After a moment she focused her gaze back on me with a studying look. As I met her eyes I thought I could see the slightest hint of tears in her eyes, though there as curiosity as well.

After a moment of looking me up and down her expression softened further. She seemed to relent to whatever the child had said and gave a snorting growl of some sort. The young girl yipped happily and hugged her, what I had to assume to be mother, tightly. The older fox gave a brief smile as she hugged her daughter back, but she looked back at me as the two let go of each other. The look was once again a questioning glare, but she still made no move against me.

The daughter on the other hand was a different story. As soon as she released her mother she ran back to me and grabbed my hand. She started pulling me towards the door to the house, all the while making the noises of their language. I thought perhaps I could show them I could talk as well, but somehow I doubted it would do me much good right now. So I allowed myself to be led into the subterranean home, though was a bit unnerved as the mother fell in behind me to follow us in...

[Notes: Ok, this is a work in progress. I'm looking for suggestions as to how Senyn should live his new life as I'm not sure how to continue past another chapter explaining a bit more about how he got there and the mother's involvement. The A and B parts are two different paths to the same end. I'd like suggestions and comments if you wish. ^^ Also, if anyone's interested. Whatever I decide to do will probably need characters. and though it may not be a major role, I'd be willing to feature a character if someone wishes. So let me know what you think please. ^^ Otherwise I hope you enjoyed! Take care everyone!]

Luca Epilogue

The years passed quickly in our new home. It wasn't that the year was shorter in the past, rather it was simply how well our lives seemed to fall into place. Within a week, we had a hut of our own, though we've remodeled a few times over...
