Chapter 28: Lessons and Warnings

The following day, Hunter felt refreshed after last night's episode, it was scary, but he endured it. It was only Monday and could not believe a lot happened in one day. Now he was ready and confident to meet up with Keanu without showing signs of distress at the station.

Meanwhile, Keanu's little love spell came back to hypnotize him but was a little less lovestruck than before and let out his feelings by drawing in art class. He had done today's task of drawing three body parts of the human anatomy with the help of a physical skeleton model named Skully...

Keanu took the remaining time left in the class to draw a particular wolf-man's face. With the pictures he had for references from the date, he could recreate the handsome facial expression of his wolf. He felt silly, but he could not stop thinking about him.

Xavier and Milagros watched the wolf's tail wagging, and his face was blushing with a little tongue picking out. He could not wipe his little grin on his face.

"On a scale of 10, how in love is he?" asked Xavier.

"Ten." The coyote-girl said.

"Is this normal? Like, falling in love like that?"

"Yeah, I'm sure it'll pass. It's his first boyfriend after all." She sat up from her stool and made for Keanu.

"Keanu, did you finish your... task?" she covered her mouth as she saw his drawing. This was definitely more than ten out of ten.

Keanu noticed her and he was a bit speechless. "Uh..."

"Oh, my god." She chucked. "Okay, you better tell me about your date with Hunter." She looked closely at the drawing. "Looking really good~."

"Th-thank you..." Keanu quivered a smile and, as usual, he blushed when he was caught drawing his love. "I have a problem, haven't I?"

"No, it's okay, you're going through a phase we all go through, and I think is adorable. Have you and Hunter thought about a second date?"

"No, and we're going to be busy this month and maybe this December. I have so many things to do right now."

"Oh, right, but at least you have to tutor Hunter for history class, right?"

"Yeah, that's right, but I don't want to take advantage of that, Hunter really needs me to improve his grades to pass the class."

"Oh, how so considerate." She rubbed his back and returned back to her easel.

After soccer practice, Broderick had spent a good amount of time on his phone, texting with Whitney at every chance he got. Xavier walked by his side, keeping him from getting hit blindly by other pedestrians walking ahead of them.

"So, have you met her in person?" Xavier asked.

"Yeah," Broderick was still gazing at his phone, "around after Halloween. She tried to reach me after watching us at our soccer match last month."

"Curious, do you have many admirers?"

"Oh yeah, those were the days in my first and second year, but not much as of today. I'm surprised I have one that wants to meet me in person. She told me I'm quite the hunk. It's not every day that someone outside of my species thinks I'm appealing to them."

"That is one way to boost some self-esteem," Xavier said genuinely surprised at his statement. Were antler folks being the least popular? Or were the trends just come and go time and time again? He would never know. He did recall from his older sister that it was once popular to date reptile species which in his home country had a lot of them, caimans, boas, lizards, anoles, and geckos. But most of all, interspecies couples had become more acceptable in most mature countries.

A notification rang Broderick's phone, he saw another post from Whitney on Instagram. The post showed two pictures, one was captioned "Where I want to be right now!" with the lioness sitting and chilling on a private jet and holding a glass of cocktail near her lips while the second picture was captioned "Where I am right now!" with tear-jerking emojis in anguish as Whitney laid on the bed surrounded with notebooks, a coffee mug, pencils, pens, and a laptop all scattered around her bed while wearing a cute yellow sweater and light-gray sweatpants and her red hair spread all over like sunrays.

Broderick chuckled.

"Is it her?" Xavier asked, guessing.

"Yeah, she had her ways of expressing. Did you know she is from a wealthy family?" He showed him the first picture of her lounging on a private jet.

Xavier stared at it for a good chunk of it, not that he was taking in a glance of the attractive lioness but the whole background setting. "Wow, that is the fakest private jet interior I have ever seen."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I heard there is a photoshop studio around here with a private jet interior set where you can rent it for sixty dollars per hour for a photo session... and I think that is the same layout I saw in the article."

"Well, maybe she always wanted to travel the world in style. They can always charter a plane than buy one."

"Well, you got a good point there," Xavier shrugged, "but still, watch out who you're dating." But a seriously thought came across Xavier's mind and raised his alarm bells. "And one more thing, if she is well off, why she's studying at a university like this one?"

"I don't know, maybe to save some money." Broderick shrugged. "I never said that they were filthy rich, you know."

"Yeah, you're right, upper-middle-class, right? But still, that may be excusable, but you should be aware of people faking their lives online, you know."

"Oh, come on, I know that! Don't compare her to the Tinder Swindler or some creep."

"I didn't say that, but please, be cautious, feel free to get to know her and stuff and enjoy her company. I'm sure she is worth it; the least worst-case scenario is treating you like a trophy just for the likes."

"Dude, really? You're always with your worst-case scenarios."

"Be glad I thought out of the least situation you should be least worried."

"Whatever," Broderick rolled his eyes, "I'm gonna ask her on a date later."

"Sure, have it your way. Thanksgiving is around the corner, so this could be your chance."

"Oh god, no! I am not taking her to meet my family this year."

"Why not?"

"I think there's a curse if I bring a date over for Thanksgiving."

"I don't think it's a curse, but your family..."

"Yeah, exactly, the typical social family expectations and all that bullshit I have to endure until who knows when. My grandmas, my aunts, and their bullshit like they have nothing else to talk about." He mocked into a female voice and said, "'Oh, Broderick, look at how much you have grown, but... where's the girlfriend? Do you have a girlfriend yet, Broderick?' Fuck, it sucks to be one of the few males in the family's generation."

Xavier lamented and nodded. "Ouch, sorry..." he thought quickly to cheer him up. "Well, one time I partially stood up to my annoying aunt after asking me if I have a girlfriend and I said to her, 'So, when's your funeral?' her husband laughed the shit out of it, and my sister claimed that Aunt blocked me on Facebook sometime later but..." he shrugged, "It was worth it."

Broderick laughed and one of his horns fell off...

An audible clobbering struck the cobblestone and a bit of blood splattered on the stone's surface.

Xavier stood there, staring at the sudden, random horror, his green feathers turned pale, and let out a guttural gasp, freaking the hell out with incoherent, blabbering words of Spanish that Broderick could not decipher.

Broderick pulled out some napkins and covered the affected area on top of his right head. He had expected that it would fall off at some point in early winter and, come to think of it, Xavier never saw him losing his horns in front of him before. Only Sol, Hunter, and Xerxes had seen them fall off. He did not expect this reaction from someone who had never seen an antler folk before until now.

After calming Xavier down and telling him that this was normal and would grow back in the following spring break and that once the other horn would fall off, he would wear a substitute like before which Xavier never had noticed until now. Aside from that little incident, Broderick took Xavier's warnings...

...But only because Milagros said the same thing at lunchtime when he told her about Whitney being a supposedly wealthy role model and that the interior of the private jet was suspiciously a photoshoot set. Broderick sighed and listened to his friends' cautions. He sat on the chair with a pout.

When the time was convenient, Keanu joined Milagros and Natasha at lunchtime and shared his Friday night date with Hunter. Aside from the pictures they took and posted online, Keanu talked about the amusement park and the attractions and how much fun they had from the carnival games to the weird but frightening Ferris Wheel.

"So, after that, we went to the souvenir shop to buy some nice gifts."

"Did Hunter buy you a gift?" Natasha asked.

"No, not really, ah, he did, he won a Zorion plush toy at the High Striker."

"A what?"

"You know, the singer. I'm a fan of his music. There's a plush toy of him."

Milagros picked up her phone and showed to Natasha a picture on her lock screen. "Ah, that Zorion, I never got his name. Is he the one who sings 'Daddy, gimme your dollar?'"

"No..." Keanu was confused but knew all his song names in his playlist and none of them sounded weird and uninspiring.

"That's Wulfgang and his songs are usually named weirdly," Milagros explained.

"Ah... right..." Natasha rolled her eyes away awkwardly and quickly went to the main topic. "So, did you both kiss?"

"Eh... y-yeah, we did, he kissed me." Keanu slurped his lemonade cup and looked away with little blush, reminiscing that romantic night. He wished he could have another from him.

"At the top of the Ferris wheel?"

"No, we were sharing with other people inside. It happened in his car."

"Ugh, not like in the movies..."

"Not everything has to be perfect, Natasha," said Milagros. "Not every first kiss has to be at the top of everything."

"Unless you properly plan it~."

"That sounds more like a proposal," Broderick said.

"It doesn't have to be... and leave my dreams and fantasies alone, will you?"

As Tuesday afternoon rolled in, Keanu went into the library to study and continued with his group project for the Friday meeting. He had it nearly done, and the computer room was busy with students typing their homework, projects, and essays on either their laptops or the computers that provided the library.

Keanu didn't have a laptop of his own but a computer at home and usually brought his homework via thumb drive to do the job between college and home. It was better to finish it sooner than leave it for later, so he could relax quietly at home in the evening and watch his favorite shows on Netflix.

Also, Xerxes was sitting next to him doing his essay for science class. His typing was a struggle, the keyboard was almost too small and made a lot of misspellings and he fixed it with autocorrect or rewrite it again carefully with his claws. At home, Xerxes had a large keyboard made ideally for larger beast folks, he always wished he could bring his own keyboard than using the standard ones in the library. And don't get him started with how tiny the mouse was in his hand.

"Hey, Xers, did you finish?" said a familiar voice nearby that bristled Keanu's neck fur.

"Yeah, just done," said the dragon-man as he safely ejected his thumb drive. "All yours, bro. I'm gonna get some water."

Right next to him on his left was the intimating ferret taking his seat to work on his homework, searching for proper online sources. For someone who had a small athletic build, he sure looked tall and fierce as he stared at the screen. Keanu kept his muzzle at the screen but looked through his peripheral vision as he typed and moused around the web.

He thought he should stop his work for today and continued it later at home. He saved his files, ejected his thumb drive, and picked up his textbooks and notebooks in his backpack. He stood up a little hastily and was met with Frankie and Oliver out of nowhere which Keanu loudly gasped.

"Oh! Sorry," said Oliver with his ears shooting up straight in the air. "Did you finish with the computer?"

"Yeah, take it, I'm leaving now."

"What's the hurry?" Frankie said. "Don't you want to stay with us for a while?"

"No, I have more stuff to do." Keanu marched forward and away from the ferret. "See you."

His legs were stiffed and stretched almost automatically as he walk-ran to the exit. The ferret did watch him go with his frowned eyes. Keanu did not want to hear his angry yells and his personal problems for missing a match. It was stupid, but he was holding a grudge he did not want to see, nor did he deserve. Terrence didn't do anything, but of all places, he sat next to him and already gave him dark vibes just sitting next to him and not caring that he was a teammate of Xerxes.

"Weak." Terrence scoffed.

Xerxes came back from the water fountain with a filled bottle of water in his hand and saw Keanu leaving hastily to the exit. Then he saw what the ferret was doing on the computer, the same thing again and again. Nothing was stopping him from getting it over it.

"That again, Terrence?"

"Mind your own business."

"It's been over a year now; you must move on."

Terrence faced him with a near desperate look. "All I want to know is the truth!"

Xerxes shushed him and spoke in a low voice. "We're in the library, man. And look, I saw Keanu leaving because you've been intimidating him with your stare."

"How is that my fault? I wasn't doing anything to him, that fox-boy just left because--"

"Because what you did earlier, Julio told me, and you better behave because he didn't do anything. You don't want another suspension on your next game, right?"

"Tsk, whatever..." he crossed his arms and turned back to his computer.

"By the way, he isn't a fox, he's a wolf." Xerxes corrected him.

"Who fucking cares!" he loudly whispered and almost banged the desk with his fist.

Oliver and Frankie overheard them from their neighboring desk. They were talking about Keanu, and both knew of the incident about the bucket and the one-game suspension of the quarterback. This guy had some issues.

Oliver whispered to Frankie, "Keanu's a fox, right?"

Frankie shook her head and whispered, "No, he's an arctic wolf. Snow foxes have short ears."

"Wait," said Terrence and turned back to the dragon with a huge frowning curiosity. "How can you tell the difference?"

"Oh, Keanu corrected me, I didn't know it at first. They're a bit similar, but now I know how to look."

"Huh, interesting," he said quietly to himself.

Xerxes raised an eyebrow, very confused. "What?"

"Nothing, just thinking." Terrence went back to focusing on the computer.

...

In the later afternoon of Tuesday, Solomon found a convenient time to talk with Sergio and made for the Clownfish Seven dorm building where Sergio and Xavier stayed. He hoped he could try to talk to Xavier and have him out for a while, so having someone getting in the way would make things easier for Sergio.

He knocked on the door and Sergio was the first to answer the door. "Evening, Sol, what's up?" The young coyote-man had no idea why he was here, he could just text him, but Sol didn't do so because he would expect him to die of embarrassment and run away from him.

The leopard leaned against the door frame, crossing his arms. "Hey, Sergio, can I talk to you in private?"

"Uh, okay?"

"But first, let's get rid of Xavier."

"What?"

"Como eh?" Xavier appeared from the adjacent room doorway, he heard the weird sentence, "Getting rid of me where?"

"Relax, Xavier, I need to talk to Sergio in private. Could you go to someplace where you can't hear us?"

The parrot crossed his arms in question, but then again, he had that odd talk with Sol in the locker room yesterday, something about Sergio's underwear.

"Alright, I'll be on the balcony wearing headphones, okay?" Xavier disappeared into his bedroom and walked into his nightstand, picking up his headset and plugging it into his phone. He opened the balcony door where a hammock hung there and slid it close. Xavier lounged there at ease, giving little crap about what was going on.

Sergio let Sol come inside and both sat together on the couch. He was a little nervous but curious about what Sol had in mind.

"So..." Sergio fidgeted with his hands and tail slowly switching sides. "What do you want to talk about?"

"I'm going to be direct with you, Sergio. I found and saw your videos."

Sergio's ear jumped up in the air. He tried to be sure it was what he was thinking. "Uh, you saw the pizza prank video?"

"No, the videos I'm referring to are the ones I can jerk off to them."

There was nervous silence from Sergio.

"I jerked off to the videos you've made, Sergio," Sol nonchalantly said.

His eyes boggled and his jaw dropped.

"A-all of them?" Why did I ask that? Seriously, why did he ask that?

"All of them, Sergio, and that was you, right?"

Sergio was trying to process his mind from Sol's direct words and... he could not believe it! in just a short time after Halloween and Sol had already figured it out! Though he did expect Sol would find out sooner before Robin did, but, there he was, talking to him to confirm it in person.

Sol put his jaw back in place and shook his shoulder. "Sergio!"

He snapped out of it, but his heart was pounding hard in panic. "Uh, but, but how did you..."

Sol kept his cool to calm the coyote and explained, "I saw you half-naked last weekend at my dorm, remember? You got wet from the broken sink, right?"

"Oh... I don't get it... but... I always wore a mask and kept my head cropped off from being seen!"

"Yeah, but looking at your body closer bears some striking resemblance from _K9_aztecwarrior's_bod." Sol smiled. "I gotta admit, you really take care of yourself pretty well~."

"Damn, you really have an eye for every little detail."

"Thank you~," Sol proudly said.

"So, what do you want, man? I have too much to deal with and I hate the fact that you know!"

"Pfft, be glad it wasn't someone else besides Robin. And now that I'm here, I want to know why?"

"Ugh, it's a long story!"

"Oh, come on, you can tell me in a short span."

"Aw, man, we're going to be for a long night, Sol. Can we stop here? You came for what you came for, and I'm having a mental breakdown."

Sol shook his head with a smile. "Nope, give me the details. You can make it brief, you know."

For some reason, Sergio forgot the main reason why he wanted to make these obscene videos in the first place. "Alright, I'll tell you, but don't tell anyone!" he glared with a pointing finger at him.

Sol shrugged and agreed. "Sure, I'm all ears."

"Okay, okay," he sighed, "uh, well, do you know why Xavier joined playing soccer with you guys?"

"Yeah, Xavier told me you convinced him to play. I wonder how you inspired him?"

"Well, the reason why I convinced Xavier to play soccer was so I can have the room to all myself for a while to make these videos when he is out there practicing..." Sergio paused but hoped he got the message.

"Wow, no way, you got rid of him for that?" Sol was amazed.

Sergio sheepishly nodded and rubbed his nape. "Yeah, it was pretty stupid."

"To tell you the truth, I'm glad you did, Xavier is a good player. But aside from that, why did you do that? I mean, about making these videos?"

"Uh, experimenting? For... experience?"

"That's weird." He scoffed. "But I kind of get it."

"Look, I only did this was just to boost some confidence, okay?"

Sol pretty much got the idea of what he was going for and shrugged. "Heh, whatever floats your boat if you look around for some good self-esteem coping mechanism. I'm not the kind of guy who covers my daily workout and posts it online like some bodybuilders, but, come one Sergio you can do better than that. Didn't you have some nightstands before? I'm sure they have given you some nice compliments."

"Yeah, I have, but I don't do that often, I just wanted to try something different from YouTube, and like I said, to boost some confidence..."

"By stripping naked and dancing your package at the camera?" Sol sneered.

"Okay, that was a one-time thing, and the rest of the videos before it are simple and sensual."

"Yeah, you really did a good job showing that body~... and your di--"

"Stop it! Pl-please take it easy on me!"

"Okay, okay," he held his hands in defense, "just trying to brighten the mood."

"You're talking about my private parts, man!"

"And _you_un-private them."

"Ugh, touché." He crossed his arms as he flustered.

"But back on topic, does this help you in your self-esteem?"

"Well, yeah, chatting with them and reading their comments they think I'm quite the eye-candy."

"That sounds nice, but I have to tell you something personal, Sergio." Sol's voice was more serious than anything Sergio have heard.

Sergio's semi-bright mood dropped suddenly as if he was about to be lectured by his parents.

"Wh-what is it?"

"Back in my final high school years, I have a friend who helped me to come to terms with my orientation and we became good friends... and with benefits. We both made a sex tape video and we posted it online. Mind you, we were eighteen, so we're legal, but word somehow got out than we expected.

"We censored our faces before uploading it, but my friend's jersey appeared in the background hanging on the wall, so we were potentially in trouble. We deleted the video, and we almost lost the password for some reason, and he had it in caps lock for fuck's sake. We deleted the video, but it was too late, and they figured out it was my friend in the video and made fun of him, I kept close by his side without leaving him alone for one second. We then got called into the principal office a week later since the rumors kept going and we got detention."

"You guys weren't suspended?"

"I thought we would, but she didn't. We decided to come clean and told everything to the principal together and including deleting the video. Man, despite being a very tough Principal, I'm very glad she gave us just detention than suspending us. She was glad that we took this ordeal responsibly and seriously."

"Damn, Sol, that's pretty crazy, so you're talking to me this stuff so..."

"So you don't make the same mistake I made, okay? Well, kinda too late, but it's not too late to delete the videos, you know, and you know what happened, Robin reached out to you and blackmailed you. It could be much worse if someone found out, or worse..."

Sergio had nothing to guess and shrugged.

"Getting expelled, dude, and you're not the only one who makes porn videos in a dorm."

Sergio sighed. "Yeah, you're right, maybe I'm not cut out for this. I'll delete the videos soon enough."

"The sooner, the better, okay?" Sol patted him on the shoulder.

"This was stupid, okay? I was just exploring myself and trying out new things, of course, I was being discrete about it. I'm sure no one here knows who I am aside from making prank videos."

"Well, we'll find out soon enough." Sol stood up from the couch and stretched his arms and back.

"Oh, and Milagros knows about it, so..." he shrugged. "She was concerned about it but gave me her trust."

"Your sister? She didn't, like, object to you or stopped you from doing it?"

"We had a chat a while ago when the semester started, she didn't exactly say she had my support but more like 'You're 19 years old, you're old enough to do whatever you want!'"

"Really?" Sol laughed. "I thought she would scold you or something, you know much how she cares about you."

"Yeah, she does, but she cannot stop me from doing stuff that what I want to do."

"Why, a part of her, as your twin, also wants to do that?"

"No, we don't think and feel alike... well, sometimes... but my point is she has her own standards and I have mine, even if we share the same things."

"Yeah, yeah, you're right, I hope you learned your lesson, Sergio." Sol walked to the door and looked at him over his shoulder. "You don't know who will see those videos. Goodnight."

"Yeah, thanks, Sol. Goodnight." And Sol left the room.

Sergio sighed in peace and looked at his laptop. He picked it up and lifted the screen and proceeded to delete the videos...

...and write a formal goodbye letter to his followers.

Meanwhile, Xavier fell asleep in the hammock.

...

Wednesday raised a lot of alarm bells for Keanu. After leaving English class that morning, he stopped over at the restroom in the 100 building for a leak and as he washed his hands, Terrence walked inside and stood next to him to clean his hands. Keanu's hands were still covered in soap and immediately washed them off, rubbing them quickly for any remains of bubbles and slippery soap under his fur. His heart was beating and made for the paper towels mounted on the wall and pulled and ripped a shred of it, drying them hastily and he had sworn he heard him saying a word, and he placed his hands on the air dryer which screamed loudly to block any voice he spoke.

He deliberately stood there, hands already dried, and hoped the ferret would leave him alone. Terrence placed a wet hand on his left shoulder, shaking it.

"Are you done?" Keanu made out the words through the loud air dryer.

He let go of his hands and the machine quieted down. Keanu turned around and ignored the tall ferret and walked to the door.

"Wait, wait up!"

Keanu froze still, not looking back. Was that sincerity in his voice?

"Could you wait? I want to talk to you."

That scared the living out of him and madly walk-ran out of the restroom and said, "No," before hastily opening the door and passing through it. The door's closer slowly shut the quiet restroom.

"Shit..."

Keanu arrived a little shaken in the cafeteria. Upon entering, he picked a tray and waited in line as he looked up at the menu. There were hamburgers, chicken burgers, spaghetti, chicken alfredo, hot dogs, and sandwiches. Spaghetti sounded nice; he should order it...

A heavy hand rested on his shoulder from behind and woke up his instincts to startle. Keanu jumped, spun around, and yelped.

Hunter was startled by Keanu's sudden reaction and let go of his shoulder quickly. The people in line looked back at the commotion as if someone was in distress.

"Oh, Hunter, it's you." Keanu huffed with one hand on his chest. "You scared me."

"Sorry, I was calling you, but you didn't hear me."

"You did?" Keanu was really deep in thought, dreading over for Terrence and thinking about what to eat. He was very hungry. "Sorry, I'm just hungry."

"Heh, I can see that, but... you look shaky, are you okay?"

"Well, you startled me."

"No, I saw you shaky before that."

"..."

"And your tail is halfway between your legs, what's wrong?"

Keanu took a deep breath and spoke quietly, "Terrence, he wanted to talk to me in the restroom and I ran out."

Hunter kept his face cool and chill but hearing Terrence made his empty stomach boil.

After buying their meals and drinks, Hunter and Keanu sat at a two-person table in a far corner of the cafeteria by the large bay windows.

"Maybe he wanted to apologize?" Hunter assumed.

"I don't know, I didn't like that sincere tone of his, it scared me. Do you think he is out to be me?"

"I don't think so, but he shouldn't be letting out his rage on you."

"I didn't do anything and he kicked the bucket over my head and blamed me for being in the wrong spot."

"I know, I know, you're not at fault. He did it onto himself."

Keanu looked down at his near-empty meal. "All I want is peace, and quiet."

Hunter thought, thinking about what to do to avoid getting Keanu hurt in the hands of a disgruntled ferret.

"Okay, here's the plan, I'll escort you to your classes and stay close to your friends, okay? Or maybe, I'll tell the others to accompany you and away from Terrence. Avoid being by yourself and stay close to them, okay?"

"I guess that could work."

"Sure, and give me your class schedules, maybe we can set this up, or maybe my schedules are similar to yours."

"Sure, let's compare."

They exchanged their schedules and compared, trying to find a way how to make this work out this whole escort mission.

No doubt their schedules hardly match. They attend different buildings that were far apart, and Hunter would have to make a lot of walking than he usually did. Leaving a little earlier in class to pick up Keanu and take him to another class. Nothing was even nor perfectly synchronized. For example, Keanu had English class at nine on Monday morning while Hunter had Math at eight on Monday morning...

This was tougher than they thought.

"I only see him often when I leave the 100 building in English class, Hunter. I'm not even safe when he is planning to reach me at this point."

"Well, try to stay longer in class, or... do you know someone else in the class?"

"Only Robin, but I don't want to deal with him after what he did to Sol."

"Oh, right..." Hunter blushed and rubbed his furry brown nape awkwardly. Keanu kind of guilty thought that was cute when he did that and thanking the short sleeves of his shirt, he could see his strong left bicep slightly flexing as he rubbed his neck uncomfortably.

"And Oliver and Frankie take the same class but at different hours," Keanu continued and took a bite of his spaghetti meatballs and chewed while looking at his green eyes.

Hunter sighed. "Well, we'll figure it out, Keanu, okay?" Hunter said and took the last bite of his steak sandwich and wiped off his greasy lips with a napkin until he noticed Keanu curiously staring.

Keanu was calming down, he guessed by looking at his eyes made him feel chill and... safe.

"Keanu? You're looking at me funny."

Keanu blinked and shook his head, breaking once again his little spell. "I... I was just looking..."

"Looking at what?"

But he still had a little bit of his love spell that did not go away. "Your eyes~." Keanu's ears and eyes made a realization.

Hunter kept his mouth shut but let out a muffled laugh. His shoulders shook with great humor. This was so precious!

Keanu looked away from Hunter and watched the campus through the bay window, but Hunter reached up and laid a hand on his left cheek, caressing with his thumb through his soft fur. Keanu looked at him again at those green eyes he loved so much...

Hunter smiled at him so warmly. "Did I mention you have beautiful gray eyes?"

Keanu tried not to blush, but this was too much, but spoke, "No, you haven't."

"I'm flattered you like my eyes; I know they're the most hypnotizing parts of my looks. And guess what? I think you're cute after I meet you, you're so shy, but you have fitted in with us so well that I'm glad that you found comfort in my company."

Keanu's heart was on full blast at those words, wondering now where on earth this was going. Was Hunter going to give him a kiss?

"I'm glad you think so..." Keanu finally spoke at his use of words.

Hunter leaned forward, eyes closing, and Keanu followed the same. Hunter was still gently holding his cheek and waited for a nice smooch on the lips--

BANG!!!

Both wolves were startled at the loud sound of glass being banged once and witnessed the freakiest shit they had ever seen, and Keanu screamed out loud and jumped out from his seat.

Hunter was startled but screamed less as he stared annoyingly at Sol for making a monstrous look splattered all over his face with his jaw wide open, showing his fangs ready for an attack and hands clawing fiercely against the glass.

Keanu held his pumping heart. He did not know what he was feeling right now. From love to panic, it was a strange combination.

Hunter mouthed at Sol annoyedly and gestured with his hands to say, "Dude, what the fuck?"

All Sol could respond was a shrug and walked away, waving at them with a guiltless smile.

"Ugh, idiot."

Keanu calmed down and sat back on his chair and drank his drink. "What was that for?"

"He was just playing, don't mind him too much."

"That was scary though." Keanu took another sip.
