The Downfall of Blizzavix

Blizzavix was the supervisor in charge of the White-Ice mining facility on the edge of the Draco-Corp space. He had been given the post mostly through lineage and nepotism - the dragons that owned the corporation wanted him to have something under his belt for when his upcoming wedding came around so that he didn't go into it with little more than his name - and he had been ruthless in ensuring that the local workforce were pushed to deliver. The numbers from the White-Ice mines had more than tripled since he'd taken command, and the replacements for the falling workers were easily enough supplied. After all, they were only Cruxes.
The semi-liquid lifeforms were quite useful in the darkened mines. Considering that the ice tended to react rather violently to any kind of warmth, having something that didn't really get injured from being frozen was very useful. They were also cheap, since they could be installed onto a host without really worrying about them after that. If the host died and the Crux went mad? Well, one could find another Crux almost as easily as one could find another host. All they had to do was ship them in from the home planet. They were so stupid that it was easy to control them and coerce them into coming to the mines. They all thought that they were playing some grand game.
Of course, to Blizzavix, it was. A game of profit. A game of advancement. A game of power.
And he had all the power.
The ice dragon walked down the catwalk that oversaw the main mining shaft dug down from the surface of the comet, going deeper and deeper into the wandering block of ice. He narrowed his eyes at the lack of further progress compared to yesterday and turned to a drone that floated at his side.
"How long have they been digging?"
"Six hours, Lord Blizzavix."
"And how much further have they gone?"
"Twenty meters, Lord Blizzavix."
The diameter of the main shaft approached a mile. Twenty meters across that much space would have been impossible for humanoids, and it was still asking quite a bit for the half-shift of Cruxes that he had assembled for this job.
But he wanted more. Gesturing at the drone, he pulled it to his throat and cleared it. The entire comet echoed as the sound was transmitted from every drone in range, and that was a goodly number of them.
"Now hear this. I want to see this hole ten feet deeper in one hour. Failure will result in the summary freezing of half the shift and further...experiments...with the other half."
The whole work crew stopped in their tracks. The half-frozen Cruxes looked up at him. Whether it was the host that stared up at him through their eyes or not, he didn't know, nor did he care. What mattered was that they had stopped what they were doing to stare at him rather than getting on with it. He leaned over the catwalk.
"Or we can get started right now."
The various drones all through the mineshaft let out ominous clicks, dropping their stored weapons out into use-position. Cruxes were hard to kill, but not that hard to break, particularly in this cold environment. The liquid forms of the Cruxes meant that they could be thawed out later, but that didn't mean that they didn't feel pain when they were repeatedly broken and shattered.
They got back to work, and he grinned and went to his office. Another well-delivered threat. And if he had to deliver on it? Well, there was another shipment of workers coming. The mines would never lack for them.
He walked down the catwalk for some way, stopping at his office. The heat that burned off the edges of the metal room was a sign of the constant warmth that he kept for himself, a way of warding off the cold of space and the comet itself. He opened it, disengaged the force-field -
Thump.
And was immediately driven to the floor the second that he stepped through the doorway. He groaned, his head spinning as something flowed over him from behind, spreading along his back, over his head, and then down his spine. It reached the base of his tail befoer he realized what was happening, and by then, it was almost too late.
"Drones! Dro-mmmph!"
The blue-white ooze spread around his face, jamming itself into his mouth. It was too smooth to be some other alien; it had to be a Crux that had managed to free itself from a host, or managed to get away before being given a host in the first place. Whatever it was, it was frictionless enough that no matter how he pushed against it, there was no way for him to find the purchase he needed to shove it away.
The drones did not come. He was not loud enough. And...And there were other Cruxes, slowly falling from the ceiling in new plops, new little splats on his left, right, before him and behind him. They rolled and dragged themselves across the floor to him, smothering his arms and covering his legs until the only things that were outside their massed bodies were his head and his feet.
He screamed into the tentacle down his throat, but he wasn't given any chance of speaking. Instead, the ooze of the Cruxes picked him up and carried him back out. Without any hesitation, they marched right to the edge of the catwalk...and jumped.
What could have easily become his death sentence turned out to be more of a scare tactic, and he was caught by several other, half-frozen Cruxes that were a few hundred feet down. The prisoners, miners, whatever they were in their own minds, clustered around him. He growled into his gag, but the rapidly-chilling liquid body around him meant that he was even more entrapped than he had realized. His legs were pulled forward, his boots stripped from his feet, leaving him exposed to a cold that even an ice dragon would have a hard time dealing with.
"Big dragon's been a pain," one of the cartoonish Cruxes said.
"Big dragon's always a pain."
"Thinking he can hurt us."
"Thinking he should hurt us."
"We came for games."
"Now we play."
They were all around him, now, surrounding him on all sides. He looked left, right, left, trying to see the end of them, but more and more of them kept arriving. Blue-black, blue-white, green-white, white-black. There were all kinds of colors, all kinds of shapes that had come to see what had been tossed down.
"We play," the blue-white Crux that had spoken first said...and slowly knelt down to the dragon's exposed feet. "Big dragon's got big feet...we start here..."
And they giggled, flexing their claws one and all. He half-expected them to start torturing his feet, but instead -
Jab. Scratch. Tickle.
Blizzavix would have arched his back in that moment, a screech of laughter coming from his throat, but the long tendril down his snout and against his vocal chords prevented any such thing from happening. All he could do was spasm in the grips of the hostless Cruxes, suffering the indignity of the childish antics that these creatures had. Tickling. Tickling! After all he had done to them, this was -
This was intolerable. Their claws danced along his feet, dragging up towards his toes before wiggling back and forth back down along his paws. He wiggled, trying to curl his toes to defend the ball of his foot in whatever way that he might have done, but there was nothing that he could do. His toes weren't big enough, and besides, the Cruxes around him still had more mass to use. One of them must have reached out with tendrils, sliding them between his toes and pulling them back, keeping his paws completely vulnerable and pinned in place.
And it got worse. He yelped as he felt something more directly against his body, realizing that his clothes were melting away with the Cruxes pressed against him like this. His thighs were already exposed under the ooze, and he whimpered as he felt them starting to reach higher, pressing against his scaled flesh further from his paws.
No, no, you can't be serious! I'm the overseer! I'm Blizzavix!
But that didn't seem to matter to these little things. They came for him, and they came for him hard, pressing against him, rubbing along his legs, opening him up until the tendrils were rubbing on either side of his crotch, slowly pulling his shaft up.
This can't be happening.
But it was. Rather than the dragonesses that he was used to rutting during his times away from the mine, he was being made to slide his shaft into some alien ooze, something that probably had some kind of space disease, somethign that was too stupid to live.
But smart enough to capture him.
He did his best to ignore that little prodding from outside, groaning as the ooze started rolling up and down along his shaft, almost like the way that the sex-bot that he kept here for relieving his urges did. Slow rolling, slow squeezes, just edging his shaft -
"MMMMMPH!"
Only for the screams of laughter to return as the tickles continued along the bottoms of his paws. They would not stop, and the Cruxes continued to giggle to themselves.
"Look at him. So loud."
"So ticklish."
"So silly."
"Maybe he's not so bad."
"No, he's that bad. But funny!"
They laughed as they danced their fingers along his toes, along the balls of his feet, everywhere that they could get a grip on him. The tendril down his throat kept him from calling for the drones to end this uprising, leaving him pinned against the ground as they teased him, worked him up...
Weakened his will...
Blizzavix realized belatedly that the Cruxes had always been given hosts that had been weakened through lack of sleep and lack of food before they were handed over. Was that what they were doing to him? Weakening him through pleasure and exhaustion so that they could take control of him? And then the facility?
The dragon's eyes went wide as he realized that they might just succeed. He might have been better off than any of the other prisoners, but that didn't mean that he was invincible against the pressures of being possessed by these...these...things. He could be overwhelmed just like all the others...
It was just a matter of time...and laughter...
The End
