My Life as a Dragon Slave 8
_Wow good and bad comments from many furs, scales, etc, here and I am shocked on what I have done to many of you to get these... kind of comments. Either I am doing something right or wrong.
Anyways, I have a chat with MrRacoon and after an extreme talk about random shit and negative and positive comments from him, I have found a new way to make this story more interesting for you all to enjoy. This one is a bit longer then usual._
And I would also like to dedicate this to MrRacoon and Sada of the Dawn for helping me out a lot. MrRacoon for being a talkative, messy writing, fur, and for Sada for being the greatest friend I met online and being supportive over these past few months. And to someone else.
My life as a Dragon Slave 8
Love and Lost are two of the same,
Yet not of the same.
To love is to give up your freedom,
To lost is to give up your heart.
To lose them both is to lose your mind and soul.
My Life as a Dragon Slave 8
I could see the sudden tension and sudden surprise on John as he heard those words. I was just as shocked and I knew that if anything, John will probably have a major headache or be pissed off.
Mencor and Alaya were just confused at what was happening at the moment. I on the other hand just wanted to stay by John's side to catch him or something for it looked like he will collapse. I watched the conversation begin with John, shocked and surprised.
"What?" he asked so suddenly.
The sergeant just blinked before responding.
"I'm sorry John but the company doesn't have the room anymore to keep these two in our environment. I have just gotten these orders to deliver them to you ASAP."
John just looked at him and behind him to see a military truck. Two soldiers came out from the front of the truck and proceeded to the back were they opened the cargo bay.
Two heads popped out and suddenly, two large forms jumped from out of the truck and looked around suddenly at their new environment.
John looked at the raptors before there eyes went to him. He seemed tensed at their eyes. Diamond shape they were and as yellow as a cat's eyes. Their dark brown scales with green stripes on their necks and backs. Large brown reptilian head with diamond black slits in their eyes. Their teeth looked razor sharp and their silver sharp claws on the large toes and front hands.
Altogether, they looked pretty... terrifying.
I could just barely make out their features as I moved closer to the door. And in fact, with my senses, they were female and male and, siblings. The very sight of them made the soldiers reach for their guns as they were standing there. I too would stay cautious of them.
John sighed heavily and looked down a bit.
"Alright," he said in a low voice. "What does the company want?"
The sergeant looked a him for a bit.
"I'm sorry sir?"
John looked up.
"What does the company want? If they are sending me something or giving me something, they always want something back."
The sergeant just pulled out a flat computer monitor and began searching for something.
Only a few seconds later did the sergeant look up at him.
"Nothing else sir, just to make sure no one else knows that you have the raptors here and to take this and a the next few days off to settle these two in.."
John gave a slight nod. He looked back at them.
"Can they talk?"
I didn't know much about the raptors except to say that after my ancestors died millions of years before they got there, that they were the smartest of the dinosaurs. They traveled in packs, they laid eggs like us and they were well coordinated.
Nothing else.
The sergeant nodded.
"At first they didn't when we wanted to use them as biological weapons but then we gave them a few programmed lessons and then adjusted their voices with a few nanochips. They can talk now, but sound more like snakes."
John just nodded. "Bring them in."
About two minutes later with all the work and extensive care, the raptors were now legally claimed to John. Him and I watched as the truck left, leaving the two raptors staring at us.
John looked them over.
"Please come in."
They looked at each other for a bit before slowing, the two walked over to us. From up close, they were almost my size and seemed to have legs that were built for running.
Once they were in, they met eyes with Mencor and Alaya before looking around the house and then back at John.
John seemed to want to collapse right there and then and I knew that this was a heavy toll on him, especially since the two parents just came in earlier.
John sat down on his couch and rubbed his temples. He looked up at the four new arrivals. Each one was staring at him and he just wished to go away for a bit.
With a heavy sigh, he turned to me,
"Verdera, you should bring your family up here. They should know about this."
I sighed and nodded.
Downstairs, my mother and father were interacting with my siblings. When they saw me come and saw my expression, they knew immediately something was about to happen.
This house was about to change. With my mother going to have another few hatchlings, two raptors, two other parents, my family and... On no! I realized that with the sudden tension and all, I will enter my heat in a month or less. And I only have a few places to hide it.
My family all waited as we entered the living room now. With my three sisters and four brothers, they all hid behind us at new faces. John was looking terrible and it seemed almost as if he had aged in a matter of seconds.
We all waited for minutes on end with complete silence. Everyone was looking at everyone and then all at John. He was deep in thought and did have his eyes showing.
I wanted to help him but I didn't know how. I cared for him very much but even this seemed to much for him or even me to deal with.
It took awhile but finally John looked at everyone and spoke with a clear voice, but had a somewhat heavy pain in it.
"I... am sorry to you all for this. I had not realized that with all of this coming into play that... this will be a difficult.... Time."
He looked towards me and my family.
"I am sorry to you for not telling you this but I wasn't expecting to do this all so sudden."
My mother and father just looked to one another and didn't say a word.
He then turned his attention for his new arrivals.
"I'm sorry for you four for suddenly being brought here and I' hope that with time that you can all share this house as one."
Some of the words he was saying, he wasn't really saying. It seemed as though he was trying to make up words as he talked along. It was hard for me to understand this but I knew that this was a massive strain for him.
"Hopefully," he continued. "I hope that you may all learn to live with one another for it will be like this for a long time."
A long time... for him it sounded like if he was going to live along time. To say that we reptilians are long living compared to humans. I wouldn't know about the raptors but... to say that we will live like this for a long time is for sure.
A long, long time....
Once everything was settled between all of the families, John had started to take our new guests to their rooms.
The raptors, named Rava, the female and Carn for the male. Their names at the base were Ravage and Carnage for they were the top at the class and had a 'killer' reputation. However here, there names were shortened. And what the sergeant told John was true.
When they speak, the sounded like snakes. For every word was hissed.
John knew to be wary of them, thinking them un...stable. However, they seemed to be stable enough and they could tell that John was nervous about them.
He showed them two their room which was at the other end of the second story, same hall as his.
As he took them, I was walking by his side. I didn't know why but John just kept me by his side. I think his fears on the raptors made him want to have a little bodyguard. I thought it was funny and didn't mind it.
When he showed them their rooms, they seemed awed by the shear space. From what I could tell, they probably never had a room to themselves or a room at all.
John spoke to them.
"It's empty right now but later on, I could add more furniture and one of you can have the other room to themselves.
The twins, as I decided to call them for they were very identical, looked at him.
"Thank youuu masssterrr. But thisss isss a fineee amount of ssspacccee for usss." Said Carn.
John just blinked before shaking his head.
"You don't need to call me master. I won't treat you like slaves.
The twins looked upon him and then to me. I just nodded, they knowing that I was not slave.
John just looked at them.
"If you need me to get you anything, I will get it for you to help make your living space here more... comfortable."
The twins looked at each and for the first time, I have seen how they did sign language! It is amazing! Dragons weren't able to do that but somehow, these raptors could and although they didn't speak, their eye movements, facial movements, hisses and even claws and tail movement was amazing. And I guess it was instinct for them. It only took a few seconds for them to say something to one another before looking back at us.
"Weee onlyyy require a fewww thingsss and not much elssseee."
John nodded. "What do you two want?"
Rava spoke out.
"I wisssh for sssomething that can help eassse me with myyy back. A lotttion of sssome kind."
John just nodded and was about to ask why before he saw a jagged line on her back. He then saw that it was a large scar much like mine only it was a large one.
He looked back at her.
"You want something for your scar?"
Rava just nodded.
He then turned to Carn.
"And you?"
Carn shook his head.
"Nothing elssse massster. Jussst whatevvver my sssissster wantsss."
"Well," said Rava. "Arrre we near a sssunny ssspot were the sssun hitsss usss?"
Derek looked at the window and nodded.
"If you two want, I can buy you both a black light so you can have it preaty warm in here."
I knew that raptors needed the heat as much as many reptilians do. However, they wouldn't need it if they were out running but since they are bound to John in this house, they would do little running.
The seemed to smile, well, I saw it as a smile but I don't know how John saw it as.
They also asked for place to lay, were a lot pillows and strangely enough... a treadmill. I didn't know what it was at first but when they said that they had one in the military base to run on when they had to stay inside a lot. But it had to be a well built treadmill and one that could support a 200 pound raptor. Not to say there fat but they need it to keep their blood moving.
Once the raptors were settled in, John let them enjoy their room for the rest of the afternoon. He went back downstairs to quickly prepare my family their breakfast. Along with my family, the two others, Mencor and Alaya, joined in. I hadn't realized that time had gone by quickly. It was already afternoon but we were barely having breakfast. Today, it was just a plate of hotcakes, hash browns and lots of sausages.
I felt kind of bad that Derek had to spend so much time trying to make breakfast for us and he looked exhausted when he was done. I never seen him eat breakfast and makes me wonder if he even eats when he is done making us breakfast.
After breakfast, Derek went and showed the room for Mencor and Alaya. They had their rooms right next to their daughter's room. Same hallway as his room was. However, when he showed them their daughter's room, I stayed outside. But from the sound of soft crying and yet the happy words that came from Alaya's mouth, it seemed well.
At first, when I peeked, I thought that they would be mad and think that he John must have put it up quickly just to make them believe he was good. But whe I saw them sniffing around a bit, as did I when I was in there, that their daughter's scent was on the blankets, toys, and other various of items. They even gave a tear filled laugh when John showed them the photos.
It warmed my heart to know how quickly they trusted John. I kind of wish I had trusted John sooner.
The more I think of it, the more I see John as someone else. I don't seem him as my master. I don't see him as regular human being. The only thing I see in him is a friend. I best friend. Someone you could really on and a human in which you can trust.
I often would wonder if I have ever find a mate, that it would be someone like John. Someone is caring and isn't afraid to show their feelings. I know John Is having a hard time but I am kind of glad that he truly shows his feelings for everyone here.
He shows love in a way I will never see in anyone else.
If anything, I would truly see John as a perfect mate to anyone.
Then, a sudden thought came up to me. Seeing the hologram for a bit has showed me that female humans always go after men with loads of money and John having tons of it, he should have had women lining up after him. So why was the richest man I have ever met who is also kind and sensitive... so alone?
I pondered that question for a bit. I looked at the man who was standing there, talking to Mencor and Alaya about their wonderful daughter. He was telling him of the years he spent with her. The five wonderful years that he enjoyed taking care of and treating a hatchling like his own daughter.
The two parents loved how John told them about how he spent so many nights, making her feel so safe in this house and he would never harm her. Not even when she accidently broke a vase or when she was still untrained to use the bathroom. He loved to talk about he would hold her when she cried, thinking that he would hit her. But never did. He never once felt angry towards her. He only felt love, compassion and sudden pride knowing that the little hatchling that he bought was now becoming his daughter.
It brought tears to him, the parents and even me when he told the last wonderful story of her. How she suddenly remembered his birthday and made him a wonderful picture out of glued scale sprinkles. She had used two of her fallen scales and rubbed them together and make the sprinkling scales fall onto the paper. She then used small amounts of glue to make a picture of him holding her hand.
He brought out the drawing and the two parents could have been happier. It was the sprinkling bits of her scales. Although it was just a stickman and a not-to-good drawing of a dragon, the two parents and John thought it was master piece.
He didn't want to say much about how her death came to be but he did showed him the last thing before she died.
An image of him and Liynda at Christmas. The same image that was on her grave. The one where she has the hat on her head and the stocking on her foot.
Christmas of last year. A few months before she... had passed.
Alaya just held on the picture close to her chest and still had tears running down but with a smile. Mencor too was in tears and I knew that John and finally convinced them about the life of their daughter.
It was a wonderful moment and John let them in the room for a bit. He walked out and closed the door. I just smiled and looked at him. He seemed just as happy as I was with knowing the fact about Liynda.
We walked back downstairs as John and I sat together on the couch. He let out a happy sigh and I just sat their for a bit with my eyes closed with a smile on my face.
It was peaceful for a bit now that everything seemed to settle down for a bit. However, I couldn't help but bring up my earlier thoughts of John staying single.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked at John who had his eyes closed. Part of my wanted to ask but I didn't want to say anything wrong or probably bring up bad memories or something. I wanted to hear it but I didn't want to make this peaceful moment disappear.
My head was struggling between the two options. If anything, I don't want John to be upset with me or make him stressed.
I decided to take it slowly, see where it takes me.
"John?" I asked him in a quite voice.
He kept his eyes closed.
"Yes Verdera?"
I hesitated.
"Can I ask you something?"
"He nodded.
"You can ask me anything Verdera."
I bit on my lower lip for a bit.
"Something personal."
This got a reaction from him and he slowly opened his eyes and turned his head to look at me.
I could see the seriousness in his eyes.
"What kind of personal question?" he asked me.
I bit my lower lip a bit more but decided to ask him.
"I hope I don't offend you or bring back any bad memories but why... are you single?"
The question caught him off guard. I knew it was a mistake and I slowly stood up.
"I'm sorry if I asked.
John quickly sat up.
"No, no, no, Verdera. It's fine, its just that you caught me off guard with that question."
I looked at him and slowly sat down again.
He sat up a bit more and turned to me. He gave a slight chuckle.
"It's fine Verdera. The thing is... I honestly don't know why."
I was puzzled. He didn't know why he was single.
I decided to ask more.
"Well... have you ever been with anyone before?"
He nodded.
"A few times but it never really worked out."
He dropped his smile a bit and looked down.
"I haven't been with anyone for a number of years. Even before I had gotten Liynda, I was still by myself." He sighed heavily. "I guess that I could never find my perfect love."
I gazed upon him deeply.
Rich, sensitive, loving, caring and handsome and yet he has no mate.
I guess what I saw on the hologram was true.
"Were they after your wealth?" I asked a bit bluntly.
He sighed again and nodded.
"Always." The very word made it sound as if he was used to it.
Typically, I didn't see why many females of the human race enjoyed males with large amounts of wealth. To me, being rich just mean you have lots of time on your claws and have so much wealth that you make yourself think you are a god. I mean, just because you have a lot of it, doesn't mean you are a god. To me, it just means a lot of room wasted.
I sighed and sat back against the couch.
"Don't worry John," I said to him. "You'll find your perfect mate someday."
He sighed and nodded.
"But when?" he asked. He slowly stood up and I stood up along with him.
I just gave a slight shrug. "Maybe if you keep your heart open up for a bit longer, maybe you will find a perfect mate. Someone who doesn't care for your wealth but for you. Someone who can love you back and care for you and your hatchlings. Real love."
He mumbled something but I could have sworn he said 'like you.' I didn't know if that is what he said but I suddenly felt a raise in my heartbeat. Did John care for me as much as I think?
I didn't get to ask him for he slowly walked to the stairs and headed up to his room.
I just stood there looking at the staircase. Transfixed by his words that I think I heard or what my heart heard.
"John," I said to myself. "Do you love me?"
_I would also like to dedicate this chapter to a young friend of mine.
The sweetest girl I have ever met and gave me some idea to this story.
She has recently passed of cancer and is now amongst the heavens now. I thank you and I hope that I make you proud._
