Part XII: A Brand New Hobby

While we were Solitude, I met a guy. Some elf who calls himself Auruem. Apparently, he got the idea to run a museum in Solitude filled with all kinds of artifacts. Of course, the problem being the place was completely empty.

The last set of mercs he hired to acquire goods for him went silent (or most likely made off with the loot). He made me an offer to become a partner and help him furnish the place. I find and donate the artifacts, he pays me and handles the business side of things.

Sounded like a scam to me. But if it was, it was a damn good one. Auruem definitely had the look of a guy who had been around the block a few times and I could use the income. Having something legit to throw people off my scent wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Well, it wasn't as if I didn't come across cool stuff exploring these ruins so I figured why not?

I told the others about the arrangement. Khash both thought it was a good idea especially the idea of being able to explore more.

Serana was especially distant. She wouldn't talk much about her family or why she was locked underground. Didn't ask much about us either. Like she was trying to distance herself from us. Normally I wouldn't mind but since we were spending time in the wilderness together, I preferred she was less...cold.

After Serana stopped gushing about Solitude and Khash got over her anxiety, we spent the night, sold off our excess loot, and continued on our way.

Thankfully, the walk was uneventful. The Imperial patrols left us alone and beside a random wolf attack, we reached the northern shore.

Once we reached the shore, we found a fresh shipwreck. A group of bandits had camped out on it already. A quick fury spell had them at each other's throats and my arrows finished off the survivors. Inside one of the unspoiled shipping crates was a cool-looking sword. Too wieldy for my taste but maybe Auruem would want it,

Our partnership was working out already. But he wasn't getting the amulet. That was all mine.

Author's Notes:

I finally get the chance to introduce one of the greatest mods to ever be created for Skyrim: Legacy of the Dragonborn. Yes, this museum is the start of yet another mod. This is a massive mod that covers the entirety of the game with its own storyline and unique dungeons and artifacts. I could write the entire diary based on this alone. I would but this mod spans the entire game and its content.
