The man of Iron part 9
A rather short chapter. At first I was writing the entire trip to Kotaro, from start to end, but then decided to rewrite. I ended up with this. Just saying, there's not going to be a large-scale fight anytime soon. I was also distracted by SC2...=P

"Well, by now they had been traveling to Kotaro for quite some time. Several weeks I remember. There was virtually no opposition, other then the occasional angry animal. I knew something was wrong, we were in a forest at the time, I brought it up while a talk with Atlas. He agreed and decided and he, I and a few others would stay behind a little as a rear guard." Grandpa said, Joshua listened intently. The group was made of Ashuri, who Atlas trusted enough to let her walk about, Cobal, and several other veteran troopers.
"You, your name?" Atlas asked the nearby sargent,
"Sargent Victus sir."
"Keep your men on guard, I do believe there is a group of people tracking us." Atlas said, "Cobal, the details?"
"They are tracking us, but their sloppy tracking skills are...Sloppy." Cobal said,
"Remember men, we don't know anything about them, we're a normal rear-guard." Atlas said, "At least until we know who they are."
"...Right, yes sir." Victus said,
"Shall I go identify them?" Cobal asked,
"Nah. I think we spent too much time standing around." Atlas said, he heard a rustle in the bushes nearby, "Now not even a normal rear-guard couldn't have missed that..." Atlas said quietly. He turned around, Ashuri noticed that Atlas had stopped, she turned around as well.
"You can come out now." Ashuri said cautiously.
A ragged soldier came out, a lion, Atlas rubbed his neck.
"I had orders from Zeron to confirm that you were Princess Ashuri. He is nearby, should I get him your highness?"
"Yes." Ashuri sighed, the lion ran off into the forest,
"Well you never told me you were a Princess." Atlas chuckled,
"You never asked." Ashuri retorted coldly,
"Point taken."
Zeron, a dark grey wolf, jogged to them, once he arrived, he kneeled down. "Princess Ashuri, who is this?" He asked,
"Commander Atlas, a human recently turned renegade." Atlas explained,
"Can he be trusted?" Zeron asked Ashuri,
"Yes, he can." Ashuri said,
"We're moving to Kotaro. Will you be moving with us?" Atlas asked,
"We will acompany Princess Ashuri with her travels to ensure she is safe." Zeron said, he radioed his men, "Shall we go?" He asked, he began to move towards Kotaro. Atlas's group followed, with Zeron's men behind them. Atlas walked next to Ashuri,
"So whats with that guy?" Atlas asked,
"Why should I tell you?" Ashuri asked,
"Since we're going to be traveling together, I thought it might be good to know a little bit of each other." Atlas persuaded,
"Okay then. He's the one I'm supposed to marry. He's a prince, of Kotaro."
Jeez, royalty is just all over the place nowadays'. Atlas thought.
"But, my heart lies with Gordon Cald." She sighed,
"...Okay, how did you two meet?" Atlas asked eagerly,
"You said 'know a little bit about each other', so there you have it. You know a little bit about me." She grinned,
Atlas thought for a moment, "Just so you know, Gordon is doing good." Atlas said, this shocked Ashuri,
"You know him personally?" She asked,
"You could say that. I'm not telling any more, since we now know a little bit about each other." He laughed.
