Working with Criminals

Chapter 2: The Infiltration

For Taiko

By Draconicon

When Denith woke up again, he could feel that he wasn't quite himself. His body didn't feel right, for one, and for another, he couldn't exactly move.

Not that the paralysis was new. He had been put through too many different super-villain schemes to count where he had lost control over his body. That was something that he could handle. No, no, this was more like there was a web or a blanket or something over his body that was moving the rest of him on its own, and it felt like something out of a perverted horror movie.

He finally calmed down a little when he realized that it was like the shift that happened when he turned into Nor. His skin wasn't taken over, it was just...stretched, enhanced. Not like how he transformed into Nor, but...similar.

Of course, he was in a tiny little container with very little light, so it was hard to tell just what was going on.

Nor was about to try and push his way out when something crackled near his head. He blinked, the mule turning around to see if it was in the wall, but there was nothing there.

"Stop moving. My gunners have a tricky enough shot as it is," the mouse's voice said down his earhole.

"...The word 'gunner' and the phrase 'tricky shot' don't fill me with confidence here."

"What's the matter? Never been shot out of a cannon before?"

"Not really."

"Well, first time for everything. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll come through the other side just fine. The math works out."

"What math?" Nor muttered, slowly lifting his head...then freezing.

He was staring out the barrel of a battleship's main gun, looking up through water that was insanely far away. At first, he wondered if he was on some sort of submarine, but no. It was something different than that. It was almost like outer space with all the stillness around him, but there was still air, still something.

It was messing with his head, something inherently wrong with where he was, and how it felt to be there. Like he was nowhere and somewhere at the same time, and a shiver ran down his spine.

"Don't. Move. We've got a target lock that'll put you right into the Novus Ager harbor, but if you move, we could end up shooting you right through dimensional bedrock."

"Mind telling me why we're doing it this way?" he asked through gritted teeth.

"The Lord in Lavender is watching all the entrances to his little realm. We have to get you in...unofficially. With any luck, you'll pass by as nothing more than a streak of energy. It happens all the time."

"...Can I say how much I really, really hate this plan?"

"As long as you do it without wiggling."

Nor took several deep breaths, doing his best to keep from wincing too much as the cannon lifted, lowered, and lifted again, never by more than a hair of a degree. He could still see the shimmer of water in the distance, but how? What was it? What was he even aimed at? And why did this feel so...wrong?

"Three..."

The mule did everything he could not to move, settling for bracing himself. It still didn't feel right, but it was better than doing nothing.

"Two..."

The tingle of whatever it was wrapped around him, whatever shape he'd been forced into, feel worse than ever. He knew that something was up, and that the mouse hadn't told him everything, but what was he supposed to do about it now?

"Fire!"

"You skipped - AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

Nor shouted at the top of his lungs as he went flying from the cannon. He soared through the open space between the ship and whatever he was aimed at faster than he had ever seen another hero fly. The world twisted, and he wondered, for a moment, if he was approaching relativistic speeds.

Then he didn't have to wonder.

Explosions burst before his eyes and behind them, his body collapsing and stretching and warping as it broke the lightspeed barrier. He no longer was mass, but energy, swapped over in the space of an instant as he slipped through that hole.

He hit the water, burning through it, steam hissing all around him, but it slowed him down again. He was only light and energy for a split second, but it was enough to send him through the deepest part of the water and into the air.

The poor mule was still catching his breath as he realized he was airborne in the harbor just off-shore a familiar city, and more than two hundred feet above the water, for that matter.

Oh, I hate this so muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch!

He wanted to scream, but his mouth wouldn't obey. All he could do was scream on the inside of his skull as he started falling again, spinning and tumbling about in mid-air. Rolling head over heels over head over heels -

SPLASH!

Ow...ow ow ow ow ow ow ow...

The mule was durable, but there was only so much that anyone could take. Even he hurt when he belly-flopped on ocean water - cold ocean water, at that - from over two hundred feet in the air. Nor whimpered under his breath, feeling his arms twitching.

Get to shore, get to shore before you find out that he did anything ELSE to 'help' you get across...

Grunting weakly, Nor lifted one arm and then the other, slowly swimming towards shore. Something still felt off, but he would be damned if he was going to go through a self-examination while swimming off-shore. With his luck, he'd end up getting a shark to come up from the depths and try nibbling on his legs. No, he was waiting until he got to shore, and that was the end of it.

The mule eventually managed to swim past the piers that jutted out from the city as it rested on the edge of the land, and he climbed up one of them. Water ran down his back and front like miniature waterfalls, and as he stepped under one of the lamps that lit the end of the dock, he finally saw what had been done.

"...Am I supposed to be a hero or a clown?"

He was used to a blue-red body, one that was just a bit more muscular than he needed to be, with a jockstrap that kept the bits covered. He even had hooves like a proper mule should, though with different shapes than the average one. Tri-hooves, he'd taken to calling them.

Now, however, he had a purple body, such a dark purple that it almost looked like a shadow with a bruise, save for certain...parts...that had rings of white-yellow hexagons on them. One was wrapped around the base of his cock and balls like a cock ring, and another around the middle of it, like a medial ring or something. One each was wrapped around his thighs, and he didn't even want to think about where else they might be.

Somehow, he'd gained feet rather than hooves, though his toenails continued to look rather rough and faceted like actual hooves. It wasn't what he was used to, but the shell - the Alt - that he must have been wearing had some familiarity with them. Enough not to fall right back in the water, anyway.

The fact that his dick was just hanging out was new, too. He would have blushed if he'd been in control, but Alt - he was just going to call it that, as if it was a name - didn't have any shame. If anything, it felt a bit like the personality on his skin was feeling a bit annoyed that he wasn't showing off more.

Nor just wanted to head into the city and find out what was going on, but no sooner had he taken his eyes off his dick than his hand went right to it. He blinked, staring at his own arm holding his cock, and then stared in surprised embarrassment as his body - without any input from him - started jerking itself off.

What...the...hell?

Much as the mule tried to stop himself, his fingers were tight around his dick and they refused to let go. He grunted, grabbing at his hand with his other arm, but it wouldn't stop stroking. Bit by bit, the tugs dragged his dick up, and he was the first to admit that it felt good, but -

As soon as he was hard as a rock, his hand pulled back. He stared down at it, flexing his fingers as if afraid it was going to disobey him again, but it didn't rebel any further.

...Strange.

He looked at his cock, slowly shaking his head. Alt had a slightly bigger one than he did, reaching up a little past his pecs when he really strained at it. The feeling was...pleasant, and so was the ego trip of having something like that on display.

The question was, was this Alt's idea of how to blend in? Because if it was, this Novus Ager was going to get...really weird.

Only one way to find out.

Nor looked down the dock, took a deep breath, and started walking towards the city and - he just noticed - the strange lavender backdrop that it seemed to have.

He was on the streets for barely a few minutes before he realized that things were definitely different here. While there were still superheroes and supervillains, and while they were still covered in leather and latex, they were far less...conservative than they used to be, and they weren't very conservative back then, either.

Nor stared at the chase going on, the purple mule wide-eyed as he watched three criminal minions running away from a bunch of policemen. Now, that would have been normal enough in his own city, but back in his own city, the criminals didn't all wear jockstraps...or leather cuffs around their wrists and ankles...or have giant bulges going on and - were those plugs up their asses?

Nor did the police have a similar sexualized outfit where he came from. They were in latex, tight latex that seemed to move around them like some sort of bio-clothing. Every so often, he saw one cop shiver, almost like he was moaning behind his mask, and he couldn't help but shake his head.

However, it wasn't until one of the criminals noticed him that things went absolutely crazy.

One of the leather-coated criminals looked away from the cops and spotted him coming up the road, and the coyote came to a shrieking halt. The others slammed into him one by one, the three of them tumbling forward. The ones that had been in the back shouted in protest, but as soon as they saw him, they went silent.

"Oh, shit, it's the Interrogator!"

"I didn't do my morning stretches!"

"Fuck, get the hell out of here!"

They squirmed, trying to get to their feet, but it was just enough of a delay for the police to arrive. They pulled out their weapons, holding them trained on the pile of wriggling canines. The head officer, a fox, turned to the mule and bobbed his cap politely.

"Much obliged, Interrogator Nor. It's good to have you back."

"Heh, good to be back," Alt said for him in a voice that was cockier than Nor was really comfortable with. "I've been away too long if they're brave enough to start shaking their asses again."

Then Alt grabbed their cock again, and Nor felt the urge to blush once more as he realized that his shell was waving it around. The way that this Nor so shamelessly showed off his dick - his dick, of all things - to the criminals, and the way that they stared at it in a mix of fear and lust told him...

Well, not nearly enough. But it told him that this version of him could be a royal jerk, and that was enough for him.

Thankfully, Alt had enough of waving it around once the police had the various coyotes tied up and restrained. He let go of their cock, though it continued to bob up and down rather violently, and then turned to the fox again.

"So, where's -" There was the tiniest of pauses, one that Nor was pretty sure he was the only one to notice, as the shell searched its memories. "Hero-Mayor Meshiah?"

So, Quentin Mire didn't hold office here...

There wasn't much to go on in the memories. Something about how there was a big accident at one point, and the heroes had stepped in to restore order. Afterward, they didn't really step down, and Meshiah - a powerful hero with a winning combination of invulnerability and super-healing - had taken charge as the one calling the shots. It was certainly a different world...

And one that seemed to revolve much more around the sexual stuff. He shook his head as each of the coyotes had their plugs pulled out and police-issue ones pushed in, the various criminals going limp as they were filled. Assuming it was a sedative of sorts, he turned away, putting his attention back to the fox.

"Where's the Hero-Mayor?" he repeated.

"Heh, looking for you. He's got a series of men that need interrogating."

"Well, I certainly got time before I get back on the beat. And I could use the...exercise."

How in the world did I go from a hero to a douchebag? Nor wondered. Seriously, what kind of choices did I make to end up like this?

"Can I offer you an escort, Interrogator?"

"I'll take you up on that. Long as nobody minds me staying...prepared."

"Nobody will mind, sir. You are licensed for that thing, after all."

"Good."

Licensed? For...just how many universes over did we go?

There was no clear answer, but he imagined that it wasn't something that Alt would know. Nor would have shaken his head in pure exasperation as he was sent towards the police car, but he didn't have the control for that. No, he was just a passenger inside of a perverted douchebag version of himself...

As soon as he sat in the car, he leaned back, one hand on his cock, the other behind his head. The foxes that took the front seat looked back at him, smiled, and then looked away. One muttered something about almost wishing he was a suspect so he could have a taste of that, while the other slapped the perverted officer about the shoulder.

"You wouldn't be the same after," the officer said, and Nor wondered what that meant.

They dropped him off at city hall, and as soon as he stepped out of the car, he saw another difference to this Novus Ager.

The defining feature of Novus Ager was the way that it shifted from one form to another intermittently. Where he came from, the transformation, the shift, was instantaneous, and most people weren't aware of it happening until after it was done.

Not so here.

Nor could see the statues around city hall grinding around, sliding against stone with a grinding, cracking sound, the building itself almost seeming to vibrate as it slid along the ground. It felt almost like the structure was reluctant to move, like it was straining against the very idea.

Yet, all around him, he could feel the city shifting. It was less obvious than the town hall, but the struggle was still there, like it was fighting against something holding it down. It was less like the city altering all over and more like there were rings to the city that rotated, like the type of movement the city did was limited to only certain types.

It felt...wrong. Very wrong.

He waited for the shift to finish, then walked up the steps and inside.

There weren't many people around this late at night, but there were a few security guards around. Some sputtered at his approach, throwing him a salute, while others kept their eyes on the ground, not saying anything beyond that title again.

Interrogator. What in the world am I doing with that?

Something with his dick, as far as he had been able to work out. Alt kept shaking it around, half-threatening people with it, and the criminals that he had seen had been both terrified and aroused at the idea of him using it on them. The sheer cockiness - if one pardoned the pun - of Alt brandishing it like a strong arm was starting to get as ridiculous as it was mystifying.

At the mayor's office, there were two more security guards. Rather than the speedo style of latex-wear that the officers on the street had, these two were fully-covered, even their faces left blank. They stared at him as he approached, almost feeling more like dolls or drones than people.

It sent a shiver down his spine when he saw that they both had emblems on their chest, like a hero symbol without a full logo. If this was the doing of one of the 'good guys' under this administration, he was pretty sure that he wasn't going to like this world very much.

They were armed, too. Not with bullet-weapons - something that gave him a massive surge of relief - but with some sort of bondage rifle. The barrels were too large for bullets, and he could see ropes and wires along their belts, some sort of ammunition for the weapons, he imagined. That was a bit more reassuring, though still concerning.

Alt activated again, making him smirk as he walked up.

"Let me through. Meshiah's got work for me."

"..."

"..."

The two drones nodded, stepping to either side of the door before reaching back. Their fingers seemed to lengthen as they grabbed hold of the doorknob, and he wondered if that was something that their suits did, or something that had been done to them. In that moment, he was glad for Alt, because he wasn't sure that he would have been able to keep acting without his help.

As he stepped through the doors, he made himself not think about the drone-soldiers on the other side. The fact that he was in a completely different room helped him with that enormously.

Quentin Mire's office had been rich, but understated, the mayor of his Novus Ager always trying to downplay just how much money was in the city coffers at any particular moment. It was better for the politician to be able to say that they didn't have that much money to offer for different causes, and having a 'poor' office made it easier to claim that.

Not so with Meshiah's. There were floating lights of electrical energy on either side of the desk, beaming and pulsing to light the room with a white-blue glow, and Nor knew that those had to be controlled by electricity-focused supers. At least one, maybe two, and that meant that the hero-mayor was keeping two supers off the streets just for the purpose of keeping his room lit up.

The fact that the walls were layered with gold reminded him of the Gilded Panderer back home, and he wondered how much was real and how much was fake. It touched everything, and he realized that it was as much a show of wealth as it was security. The lightning balls could leap to any part of the room and bounce around, chasing after anyone dangerous.

Someone put a lot of thought into this.

And then there was Meshiah himself, standing beside his desk with his hands outspread over someone that the mule didn't know. The albino husky swirled his hands back and forth, and glowing yellow light spread from his fingers to his patient.

Nor waited, watching as scratches and worse closed and knitted shut, leaving the rat on the table injury-free in seconds. Alt filled him in, reminding him that Meshiah was an invincible husky with powers to heal others, someone that could not be killed and would refuse to allow others to die on his watch. It had made him easy to vote into office, and made it even easier to allow him to stay.

For someone so benevolent, however, there was a decided amount of darkness to the city. Something else was going on, and he wasn't sure if it was all this Lord in Lavender's idea or not.

As the rat got up, his face glowing as much as his former wounds had been, Meshiah looked up. Pink eyes - the other mark of an albino - met Nor's, and the hero-mayor smiled.

"Nor. It's good to see you again."

"Heh. And you. Heard you have some more work for me."

"Indeed. There have been several minions captured since your disappearance that need to be...persuaded to talk."

"We know who they work with?"

"We believe that they are under Nemean's employ, though we cannot be completely sure. However, you know what it would mean if they are."

Alt did, at least. Nor remembered the Nemean from his world, but here, Nemean was a bit more of a businessman, one who pushed the respectability just a bit further than he did in the other Novus Ager. More of a villain in this universe, but one that made sure that his business dealings were above reproach, and an avid contributor to all possible charities.

But underneath that, one hell of a mobster. Not one that you crossed without evidence. Apparently, he had done rather well for himself here.

"Heh," the douchebag Nor chuckled. "If they're working with the lion, they're not going to be quiet for long. They'll be singing for more as soon as they get a taste of this."

He hefted his cock, the hexagons along the middle and base glowing slightly. He swore he swelled, growing slightly large, and he groaned inside his head.

"I was hoping you would say that. Can I trust you to take care of this? I have a date tonight, and my lover is most impatient for me."

"Oh-ho, a date, huh? Is he someone new, or -"

"No, the same lovely Great Dane as before your departure. Perhaps you might wish to meet him?"

"I've got a minute, yeah. Sure."

"Wonderful. Come with me; you can move to the cells under the city hall after you say hello."

The cells under city hall. That was something else that was brand new, and something else that he wasn't keen on. Nor kept the smile on his face regardless, but he knew that this was going to get worse and worse. When he finally had to go back to get Alt taken off and reapplied, he was pretty sure that he and the Man in Red were going to have words about this.

They left the golden office behind, walking down the curved hallway back to the main atrium. Other heroes and security officers passed by, the latter mostly fully-coated with latex, the former moving more like officers in an army rather than the vigilantes that he was used to seeing back home.

Alt's memories filled him in. The heroes held all the powerful positions in the city. They were not just the ones that got the worst of the villains off the street anymore, but the ones that actually ran the city. The judges, the department heads, the educators, the mayor and deputy-mayor: they were all heroes, and they had hundreds of people under them that carried out their will on the city.

Oh...fuck.

Alt was useful for one thing, at least. It kept all those internal emotions from showing while he was with the hero-mayor. Meshiah never seemed to notice.

When they stepped from the corridor to the high-ceilinged atrium, the Great Dane that Meshiah had mentioned was waiting for them. Even as Alt, Nor had to stop and stare.

The canine was tall, even for his species, and towered over everyone else at just past seven feet in height. He had a monocle over one eye and a vanity rod in his left hand, the latter plated in gold and silver with a ruby at the very tip. Links of gold ran from his neckline over his collarbone, and then along his shoulders, making him as rich-looking as one could imagine.

But it was the immaculate lavender suit that he wore that immediately marked him as a person of interest. It was as well-made as the Man in Red's suit, pulled tight to the body, yet looking trim and fitted rather than over-stuffed with muscle and body. He held himself with a slight smirk on his face, like he was the real master of the room rather than Meshiah.

Nor couldn't imagine anyone else pulling off the title of Lord in Lavender better than this dog.

The husky crossed the room with a smile, the gold super-suit he wore gleaming as he opened his arms for the Great Dane. They embraced, the bigger dog towering over the husky by some way, and they held each other, the Dane's head resting on top of the husky's.

But there was something in that moment that sent another shiver down Nor's spine. The Lord in Lavender looked over at him, and there was a hunger in those eyes. Hunger, impatience, and...lust. Lust, for sure, more than he had seen for a long time. Those eyes said it all.

You're mine...all mine...

Then the moment passed, and the Great Dane and Meshiah were chatting, the husky waving him over. The naked mule did as he was told, coming forward.

"Tantalus, this is Nor, my chief Interrogator," Meshiah said. "Nor, this is Tantalus."

"Tantalus. It's...good to meet you."

"Heh, likewise," the Dane said, the two of them shaking hands.

Whether Meshiah noticed it or not, Nor definitely did. They were supposed to know each other. In this world, Nor and the Lord in Lavender were already acquainted. And Alt didn't know anything about it.

Not good, not good, not goooood.

"I'm sorry, but I have work to be getting on with."

"A pity that not all of us can take such pleasure with our jobs," Tantalus said, chuckling. "Perhaps I will come down and watch, sometime."

"It's better to leave him. Nor works better in privacy," Meshiah said. "Now, let's go for our date."

There was one more glance from the Great Dane, one more look of ownership, and then they were gone. Nor watched them go, forcing himself to keep an eye on them as they walked out of the building, and then let himself slowly collapse inside.

I need to get back to the Man in Red. Soon. Otherwise...

The mouse had to have some information on his colleague. If he didn't, then Nor would eat a metaphorical hat, and those were never as tasty as real ones. If Alt didn't know about the relationship, then he needed everything that the Man in Red knew about this...Tantalus.

For now, though...

He walked back towards the cells, letting Alt's memories guide him. The passageway down was behind the main reception desk, accessed through an old filing cabinet. Press it the right way on the side, and it opened up like a door rather than by drawers.

The barefoot mule followed the steps down, still adjusting to the fact that he was barefoot rather than actually having hooves. The floor was colder than he was used to, and there was none of the steady clip-clop sound that came when he was himself.

The fact that his cock refused to go down, refused to shrink when he was in the chilly corridor, told him that he was used to this. Alt was used to this, ready for it.

Even wanting it.

At the bottom of the steps, there was another room, one that was filled with cells. There were four levels of cell blocks, each one blocked off with a force field that Alt told him canceled out intangibility users, as well as phase-shifting ones. They were locked inside good and tight, and the force fields were completely transparent, allowing every prisoner to see all the other prisoners...

And what was done to them.

There were no officials down here to keep watch. Alt told him that they weren't needed. Only the hero-mayor and his trusted subordinates came down here, either to chat, release, or...interrogate.

Interrogate how? he wondered.

Alt knew, and Nor's body was walked up the stairs towards the top of the four rows of cell blocks. He looked in at the naked prisoners, some of them zonked out with some sort of mental control collars, others leaning back and idly teasing themselves to pass the time.

At the top level, he walked over to the central cell. Another villain that he didn't know was in there, this one a lizard that had a bit of a round rump. He looked at the side of the cell wall, skimming the data that was kept like a medical chart.

_Name: Mark-Up

Status: Minor Supervillain

Power: Uses writing implements to alter value or stats of people or objects.

Crime: Non-consensual transformation and alteration of strippers, 30 counts._

"So, you're the one going around boosting strippers, huh?" Nor asked.

"Yeah? So what if I am?" the lizard asked.

"That's illegal. It is a good way to put people out of business, if you push them too far."

"Yeah, well, they needed the size."

"Heh, that's not important. See, I'm more interested in the person that made you do it."

"...What are you talking about?"

"Your employer. Nemean."

"I ain't got a boss."

"You know, I think you do." Alt smiled. "And you're going to tell me..."

He pushed himself against the force field. Whether it was the fact that he was the chief Interrogator, or whether he was somehow immune to it, he didn't know, but his dick slid through the barrier, bobbing on the other side.

"Back up."

"Oh come on...I swear...I didn't..."

There was a nervous look on the prisoner's face. Mark-Up stared at the mule's cock as if it was a gun, loaded and ready to fire...but at the same time, he looked at it with more than a bit of hunger, the tip of a cock slowly starting to appear from the slit between his legs.

Alt chuckled, deep, low, and vaguely threatening. Nor had never, ever made that noise in his life, and it sent a shudder down his spine.

"Come here. If you have nothing to hide, you don't have to worry now, do you?"

"I...Mmmph..."

There was definitely something controlling the prisoners, because Mark-Up was struggling the whole time. He fought the command to come closer, the lizard's cheeks burning up as he approached. He stumbled, leaning back as if it might keep him from doing what he was told.

But there was nothing that he could do to stop it. Soon, the round-rumped lizard turned around, pushed back -

POP!

And suddenly, he was inside the lizard, the pleasurable feeling of a hole wrapped around his dick making it difficult to think of much else. Mark-Up moaned, biting his lip as he rolled his hips forward and back without being told, the lizard blushing.

"God...fuck..."

"Keep riding," Alt said. "We'll stop when you tell me who you were working for."

"Ah...fuck...fucking...ah!"

Nor didn't even move. He had vague memories of 'interrogating' people like this on the streets, but here in the cells, he didn't get personally involved to that extent without a great deal of need. Most of the time, the prisoners could fuck themselves on his dick well enough, and the longer they did it, the weaker their willpower became.

And with his stamina, he could let them do it for a long, long time. There were supervillains that occasionally kidnapped him to try and build up a resistance to it, but it never worked.

The Nor of this Novus Ager had something of a magic dick, and nobody knew why...but whoever he fucked always broke down. Always. It was just a matter of time...
