#2 of Lessons With Mara

Another lesson with Mara about magic with something extra at the end for the fun of it.

In my previous paper, I had written a few choice words with vague mentions to a particular mindset belonging to an instructor that I should not have riffed on. Though that paper scored highly, I now find myself needing to write yet another essay but on the dangers of magic in the hopes of culling my hubris lest it grow out of control and destroy us all.

A plum-furred feline with sharp orange eyes sat a desk pressed against the end of a bed in a room lit only by a flower hanging over the desk. Mara held a quill in paw and brushed her chin with the plumage while humming aloud, "Is that penitent enough? Or maybe is it too much? Really, I could care less about what that old bastard thinks but he has power. That and my mentor won't get off my back unless I do this right. Ah well, on with the mundane scrawling."

Something that I neglected to expand upon that probably should have gone in instead of my jabbing at my betters were the dangers of magic. Oh, I brushed along the simple sides of the risks of Heart and Mind but I did not do the best job of explaining how it can happen and give examples. What I described were ways that the Heart and Mind can attract danger and those little sprites which can cause danger. The use of either carries particular risks that I failed to bring up.

Heart is a complex thing due to the emotions that go into it due to the fact that emotions are complex alone without using them for magical fodder. Both positive and negative emotions can be used, things that bring us down or up and each carries a risk if not properly coped with after using them. To begin with the obvious; taking your fears, your sorrow or pain to produce your intended effect will disperse those feelings to the rest of your body if you aren't careful. Tainted with magic, they feel more intense and so symptoms start to come to the surface. Shivers, nausea, sometimes even vomiting and internal hemorrhaging if the feelings were particularly nasty or not well maintained. Happiness, excitement, arousal even carry similar effects except the shivers are turned into a fever and yet, there have been cases of negative emotions bringing on fevers as well. Many believe that it isn't the negative or positive but the ups or downs that control whether you will get the shivers or a fever. Coming to terms with each feeling and making sure they are properly dispersed out of your body once introduced to magic is important. It prevents residue from sticking to your body and wreaking havoc on it as if you were experiencing the emotions right there and then. Those with trauma may find themselves in a nasty spot because of that. Memories may come flooding back and intensify the residue already left on your body. This is why coping with your emotions and understanding every little piece of how you feel and why is important for those who use Heart. In many ways, it requires the Mind to think about and process the Heart.

So, with that said, onto the Mind. The dangers of the Mind have their own nasty little effects. Emotion is something powerful and complex but thoughts and calculations that haven't yet been filtered into words are just as dangerous. The Mind is not entirely separated from emotion but the focus on the thought, on the calculation, and logic creates magic of the Mind. Even now, I could use my thoughts on this paper in order to cast a spell but what if I neglected to remember that there are other things in life? What if I became so hyper-focused on the thoughts of this paper used for magic that I suddenly sequestered myself for days on end in my room thinking about nothing but this paper? That is one of the major dangers of the mind. Becoming so enthralled in thought that there is no other course of action but sitting there and remaining stuck in a labyrinth made of your own mind. That is why many practitioners of the Mind practice a technique pioneered by those of the Heart. Breathing. Focusing on the breath as an anchor point to pull yourself out of thought and remind yourself that you are a living creature that has other needs. That being said, there is another danger and that is thinking about too many things at once. Using many thoughts for a spell is an effective way to drum up magic. Thinking about how the magic works while perhaps preoccupied with thinking about what you will be doing next or why or what is happening in the world currently. Instead of focusing on one thought, using many to guide your spell can indeed hold a wealth of power but it can be seen as chaotic. Not anchoring yourself properly and pulling yourself out after doing that can result in panic. The residue builds inside of you and your mind keeps on thinking about every single thing that you used for magic all at once until you break down. Your breathing grows labored, your mind feels as if it is on fire and frozen all at once until everything goes blank and you need a week or so to recover.

Other forms of magic carry their risks as well but it is the knowledge of those risks that help us mitigate or completely shut them down. In conclusion, I would like to add that the dangers of each can be mitigated by one another. Remember that you can use your Mind to think about the emotions troubling you and remember that the Mind is not separated from the Heart. It is easier said than done as many focus on one or the other and there are even masters of the art who so foolishly claim that one is greater than the other but I am not here to argue about that. I am only writing this to expound upon the dangers of the Heart and Mind disciplines.

Mara set her quill down on the desk and capped the inkpot she was using before leaning back in her seat, arms coming up to stretch. With a sigh, she checked over the paper and whispered a few words of magic while thinking about what she really wanted out of the paper. It was a simple incantation made up of the corrections she desired and the ink moved in the ways she desired before it settled on the paper.

"That should be enough to pacify my betters. If not, I'll just keep on writing papers. It isn't as if I've done anything wrong." Said the feline while getting up from her desk.

Her eyes peered down at the page where her claws hovered over the portion of her paper that disparaged one such master who had been irritated with her attitude towards them in recent times. She scoffed and made the necessary changes to the paper in order to not incur another lecture from her mentor. When she finished, she turned away from the desk and grabbed the bottom of her black robes to start pulling them over her head. She fussed and pushed until the heavy piece of clothing was off and onto the floor of her room revealing the slight rounding of her belly and curve of her hips. That paper had been irritating, not just because it was done to keep her mentor from lecturing her any further but because it was so hyper-focused on particular subjects that the academy wanted her to discuss. There were a number of things she could have written in relation to the dangers of magic as well as the general applications of it but she didn't. In only her underwear and long socks of black and orange, the feline sat at the edge of her bed with a huff while bringing one leg up.

A small smile touched her features as she thought of all the little subjects she could write about that would absolutely earn her an ear tug and several lectures from various masters. She brought her paw up and began to focus her thoughts on collecting energy. Not just elemental power but arcane energy in general. Small motes of light gathered until they started forming a ball made of violet energy in the palm of her paw. She closed her digits on it and breathed in and then out to focus on the breath rather than the echoes of her thoughts. When the thoughts she had used to manifest the ball of energy disappeared, the energy still remained. Unless Mara willed the ball to go away, then it wouldn't. That was one of the things that remained a mystery. What happens with energy when no one is focusing their intent on it? Why does it remain without input and what is energy doing when it isn't being used for magic? There are many loose theories and most of them are squabbling arguments rather than collaborations. That little mention in a paper would have earned her a lecture but more than that would be mentioning the applications of magic outside of an academic perspective.

Mara's other paw came up and around the orb to begin forming it. Energy could be easily made malleable with the right intent when bringing it to the physical realm. This could be used to create talismans and charms if you crystalized it and had other applications as well. Right now, Mara could feel the energy as a solid object, soft and yet firm as she continued moving her digits up and up to form what she desired. For example, you could use this tiny application of energy and magic in order to create a toy meant for the bedroom.

The smile on her features turned into a sharpened smirk as she began deciding the species of her toy tonight. She felt irritated and had a desire to tell her master's to kiss her fat rump. Since she was feeling daring, she decided to go with an equine shape, bringing her digits all the way up until she stopped and clasped onto it to make the flare. With a hum, Mara set her creation down on the floor, wrapping her legs around it while taking a good measure of it. The magic toy came up to her belly while it sat on the floor and it was thick enough that both of her paws were needed to pass over the shaft.

With a happy hum, she drew herself back to grab onto her underwear and pulled it down and over her ankles, tossing it off to the side before she leaned over her bed to fish beneath it. She got out a small bag with various bottles in it and picked one she made herself labeled appropriately with, "For tight fits."

Whether she decided to go with one hole or another, she would need all the help she got and hummed happily as she returned the bag to the spot beneath her bed. She poured out a healthy amount of the concoction onto her paw and set the bottle aside before lying on her side to get her digits between her legs where she started focusing on her heat first, trembling as she dug in three digits bit by bit to coat her insides before she moved onto her ass. Yet again, she repeated the motion until she was certain she had each properly coated. Finished with that, she returned to sitting at the edge of her bed with her legs curled around the toy. She prepared the tip with the rest of the concoction on her digits, making sure it dripped down to the base before she turned around on her bed with her tail lifted and her legs spread.

Carefully, she reached back to edge the toy between her cheeks, grinding downward to press her slit to it while her tail curled around it to better hold it. Breathing out, she felt the flared tip threatening to push into her pussy before it popped out and pushed against her rear. With a small chuckle, she thought about what her Heart was telling her. An impulse to do something so foolish as to taunt her elders called for an equal challenge to satisfy her whims. Slowly, she urged the tip of the arcane toy against her puckered rear until the concoction did its job and began stretching her. She winced as she felt dull pressure beginning to pulsing at her backside, the soreness continuing as she began to bring her hips down and urge more of the toy inside of herself. Mara thought of those fussy instructors and masters telling her that she couldn't just mess around with magic like this, couldn't disobey or disregard their words even if they weren't true because of seniority and she gnashed her fangs and brought her hips down hard sucking down a few more inches of the toy into her rear. Heated pleasure and irritation toyed inside of her gut together as her ears pinned back and her hips began to move up and down.

A moan was threatening to come out of her mouth but she held it while her body continued moving. Every time she brought her rear down on the toy, she brought a few more inches of it inside of her until she began to struggle. The concoction still needed to spread the lower parts of the toy but she didn't want to wait. Her frustrations kept on building until she growled and pushed off of the bed to plant her knees on the floor and began slamming her hips down over and over again with her claws digging into the bed. Sloppy and sticky sounds began to pump out into the room as she moved faster and faster, her rear nearly taking every inch with each movement until she finally managed to sit her fat rear on the balls of the toy. Mara felt a line of drool falling from the side of her mouth as she buried her face against the sheets to utter out a sigh before she brought both of her paws between her legs to start digging inside of her heat. She brought her hips forward, grinding against her digits while that pulsing magical length continued to push against the inside of her rear and senses. Over and over again she continued this until her toes curled and her climax was closing in.

Thoughts of challenging her superiors faded as she wondered if anyone could open that door. She knew she didn't lock it as often as she could and someone could just test it to see if they could come in and ask her something. There were other students that could walk in and take advantage of her and even teachers! Such a thought drove her over the edge, her mouth opening to let out a gasp as her climax trembled through her digits and gushed over the arcane tool. She purred as she looked over at the door, noting the fact that that lock was indeed loosened.

Mara's senses were still swimming with lust. She could urge the magic to disappear inside of her but how would that be any fun? The feline breathed out as she turned enough to point her tail toward the door, her paws on the floor as she slowly began to lift her hips. At first, the inner walls of her rear clung to the toy but soon enough, the toy began to slide out of her rump while she kept on raising her hips. Up and up she went while resisting the urge to moan, her eyes focused on the door behind her until the flared tip came out with a wet pop. She was up on two feet now, both paws coming around to grab her rear cheeks to spread them and show off to the door before she pulled her digits away.

With a breath, the feline brought herself up all the way and stretched. She flicked a few digits toward the toy and the magic faded away bit by bit while she moved toward the door. If it wasn't late at night then she might have actually been at risk, still...There was always the chance that someone could have been wandering the halls that got curious about the sounds. She thought about leaving the door unlocked and sleeping with her rump facing it but instead, she flicked the lock and sighed. Such lustful thoughts were unbecoming, especially if she allowed herself to go feral like that. Perhaps she should spread this use of magic and get to know a few other students over it? The thought of actually meeting a peer was frightening but the thought of her mentors blushing and sputtering at her vulgar use of magic made her smile, a chuckle coming from her as she moved toward her bed to flop onto it while closing her eyes. As her arms found her pillow to bring it under her head, a world of dreams began to take her as she was much too tired to think and much too tired to feel thanks to a bit of fun.
