The Silver Eyes Saga.

Part 1- Finding Strength

The rain was heavy and fourteen year old Daniel Creek stood across the road from the local college where he was suppose to start today. Daniel was a very smart child and had been skipped ahead two years. So while other sixteen year olds started their first day he stayed behind. Not only would he be the youngest here but he would be one of the few humans here as well. This college was the only one in his hometown and the town's population was 90% furry. So most of the other humans left to go to other colleges but Daniel stayed behind out of choice. He had been lucky to get student accommodation despite his age and lived only two minutes away from the campus.

The rain began to grow heavier as the grey clouds above him were replaced with darker ones. Clutching the bag on his back fiercely he walked across the road and entered the main reception building. Water fell from Daniel's brown hair as he made his way towards the vixen that was sat behind the front desk, cleaning his glasses as he walked. Now to say that Daniel was scared of furs wouldn't be totally accurate. He was just unsure how to act around them, when he was six he and his parents had been in town shopping when a fight broke out between two furs. It was so ferocious and savage that Daniel never got over it and worries that they will do the same to him if he said or did something wrong.

"Excuse me" Daniel whispered when he came to a stop at the desk. The vixen looked up and looked down at the boy. "Oh hello there. Would you be Mr. Creek?" Daniel nodded his head slowly and kept from making eye contact. "Well welcome. I am Miss Elmore and I am the head receptionist. I have the envelope with your timetable, campus map, tutors name and all other important information you will need. Let me just find it." Miss Elmore looked around on top of her desk, She blushed embarrassingly as she realized she couldn't remember where on her desk she had put it.

Once the envelope had been found Miss Elmore passed it over, "your tutorial room is in the main building, on the second floor in room 216."

"Thank you Miss Elmore." Daniel put the envelope in his bag and immediately turned around and headed out towards the main building. Behind him the vixen watched him as he left. The young human looking so scared and worried.

He is a very shy child. I do hope he will be ok here he is such a small thing.

Miss Elmore thought to herself as she watched the boy walk through the automatic doors and once again enter the storm outside, As Daniel headed towards the main building he passed a few furs who gave him odd looks and the boys spirits didn't lift. He was a five foot six and his body shape was just ordinary for someone of his age. The only remarkable things about him were his longish brown hair and his brown eyes that were behind a pair of glasses. All of the furs he had seen so far all were all over six foot two and he felt tiny here and he hadn't seen one human yet.

The double doors of the main building opened up as he approached them. It was warm inside and he shook himself gently as every part of him dripped with cold rainwater. Cleaning his glasses Daniel made his way to the stairs and began to make his way to the tutorial room he was supposed to be in. running on automatic his legs led him to room 216 where he stood outside for a few seconds to check his watch.

9:14am

He wasn't late thankfully. Taking a deep breath Daniel walked in and when he saw what had awaited him he felt his heart sink, his courage leave him and his skin turned to stone. Inside were 23 other students and his tutor. And not a single one of them was human. His tutor was a 6 foot five eagle with piercing yellow eyes. "Welcome Mr. Creek I was beginning to wonder where you were." He said with a smile.

"Sorry sir I had to go to the reception first" Daniel said softly.

"It's ok Mr. Creek. Now would you like to take a seat, so I can introduce myself to you all." Daniel nodded his head and immediately went and sat in the chair at the very back. As he walked to his seat he looked at the other students in his tutorial group. There were a variety of furs in his tutorial group, but he had to admit that it was mainly filled with canid furs of varying species. There were a few cats, avian, rabbits, and there was also a bull and two ferrets.

Once Daniel had sat down did the teacher speak, "well hello everyone I'm your tutor Mr. Veneral but you can all call me Chris. Now this will be your tutorial room and I will be your tutor until you leave here. So if you don't like it tough." A few of the students laughed but Daniel stayed silent at the back. While Mr. Veneral talked a few of the other students glanced back at the human but quickly looked away when their tutor cleared his throat. "Right as you can see we have a human here who doesn't look exactly old enough to be here. Well he is fourteen but is an exceptional student and was skipped ahead two years. So please don't make him feel uncomfortable. I am sure all of you feel nervous as it's your first day but it is worse for him and you are not helping the situation by staring."

Daniel felt his heart drop down to the center of the earth as he began to slide down in his seat. Thankfully the bell rang and everybody got up and all the other students began to leave but he stayed behind and took out his envelope and looked at his timetable to see where his first class was. Mr. Veneral came over and smiled down at the boy, "are you going to be ok?"

"Yes sir" Daniel whispered softly as he grabbed his bag and stood up to leave.

"Well if you ever need any help or if someone is giving you a hard time let me know." The eagle winked at Daniel as he just smiled sheepishly and then walked out.

As much as Daniel was thankful for what his tutor had said be he hated others looking at him as if he was made of glass. He could take care of himself, well most of the time he could. Daniel's first class was a full two hours of English literature on the floor above him. Walking slowly he made his way and tried to ignore the looks from all the furs that towered over him as he walked past. Ignoring the words they said and just trying to make sure that he held onto the little bit of strength he had that was preventing him from just running away. After all Daniel had chosen to come here because he wanted to come here, but he had to admit that now he was here he may have made a mistake.

When he opened the door to his classroom he was surprised to find that he was the first one here. Only the teacher was in and she was sitting behind her desk, the female black panther looked up when she heard the door open and looked at the young human. "Ah you must be Daniel Creek. Please take a seat I want to have a little talk with you." Daniel gulped nervously and sat down at a desk near the far back corner. His teacher walked over to the door with incredible grace and poked her head out, said a few words to the students that were outside and closed the door again. The panther walked over to Daniel and sat down at the desk next to him. Her yellow eyes bright and warm as she looked at him. "Tell me honestly how you are feeling, because I can smell the faint traces of fear on you." Daniel blushed and hid his face but took a deep breath and began.

"I am terrified to be honest, I mean not only am I the youngest and shortest student here but I am also one of seven humans at this college. So yeah to say I was scared would be an understatement. Also I have a little phobia of furs because of an incident that happened years ago." Even though eh wanted to sound confident Daniels voice was only just a whisper. "Well my name is Jane Keller and if you ever need help or someone to talk to you can come to me." Jane smiled at the boy and laughed when he smiled back. A large bang came from outside and Daniel's teacher growled making him flinch. "Oh dear sounds like I better let the animals in before they run amok." Daniel laughed softly and got his stuff out of his bag. Ready for his first lesson and the beginning of his time here at college surrounded by furs taller and older than him.

Who was he kidding, he was still terrified and while he knew that they were only trying to be nice and help him. Daniel hated the fact that his teachers felt the need to let him know that he may need them just because of age, species and height.

That first week was absolute hell. Nobody talked to Daniel except for the teachers and even those were brief. The teenage boy spent his weekdays studying and getting to know the campus, while at the weekend he pretty much stayed in his room in the accommodation block. Daniel's place was average, two rooms, one was the bathroom that held a shower and everything else he would need.

The main room was big.

It held enough room for a double bed, desk, bookshelf, a bedside table, an armchair and a chest of draws for his clothes. It was pretty basic but Daniel loved it. He finally had his independence and was enjoying every second of living on his own. So when Daniel wasn't at college, in the library or wandering around the campus he was here doing his own thing. His mum and dad lived on the outskirts of the city. They had been so proud of him when he had been skipped ahead two years and accepted into college at just fourteen that they had made sure that their son had every opportunity.

His mum was called Susan and worked for a local law firm in the city. Daniel had inherited her brown hair and kind-hearted nature. His dad on the other hand was called Jack and was a station officer with their local fire service, from him Daniel had gotten his soft brown eyes and strong will. But that was where the similarities ended. Daniel had his own unique personality and idea's. Sure he may be smart and worked hard but his heart belonged in the world of fantasy. This was proven by his book collection that filled the bookshelf in his room.

But as the days passed and September slowly turned into October Daniel had gotten himself into a nice little routine. The only thing was that he was still on his own and hadn't made a single friend yet. While it didn't bother him he knew that this was his own fault as his shy and timid nature always got the better of him whenever he was given the opportunity to talk to someone.

But in mid October that all changed.

It was lunchtime on a Wednesday and Daniel was sat outside on the roof of the main building eating as he observed the view around him and enjoying the gentle breeze that blew. He had just done an hour of advanced science and browsed over the notes he had taken in class while listening to a few songs on his music player. Unknown to Daniel another person had just stepped onto the roof through the door. The new arrival looked at the boy sitting there oblivious to his presence. The new arrival had heard about the young college student and had seen him a few times as the human walked to and from classes. Slowly the figure walked up behind him.

Daniel was just reading the part about how he could properly identify certain chemical compounds when he felt a tap on his shoulder. As if a bolt of lighting had just struck him Daniel jumped to his feet. Slowly he removed his earphones and turned around, his mouth falling upon seeing the creature behind him. Stood in front of him was a seven-foot tall sapphire blue dragon. Piercing silver eyes gazing down at him and a smile upon his face showing sharp teeth. The dragon held out a clawed hand and spoke in a soft tone, "Hi there. I'm Tyler." Daniel looked at the clawed had offered to him and then looked up at the dragon.

The boy's mouth opened but no sound came out. His head felt light and he stumbled a bit, his eyesight going fuzzy. Tyler noticed this and immediately grabbed him just as Daniel passed out. Tyler laid him down on the floor and looked him over. The boy wasn't moving and the seventeen year old didn't know what else to do, in the end he put Daniel's stuff in his bag and slung it onto his shoulder and then picked up the frail looking boy in his arms and headed towards the nurses office.

Tyler got a lot of looks from other furs as he walked through the main building cradling the unconscious human in his arms. Daniel hadn't moved or awoken but every now and then a small whine escaped the boys lips, Tyler couldn't help but smile at this.

When he walked into the nurse's office Mrs. Carter looked at the dragon cradling the human for a split second before jumping into action. "What happened to him?" She inquired as she took Daniel from Tyler's arms and laid him down on the bed. "He just fainted. It just happened so I brought him straight to you Laura." Tyler said as he placed Daniels's bag on the end of the bed as he sat down in the chair next to the foot of the bed. "If it's ok with you Laura I would like to stay here with him. He doesn't have any friends and I think I was the first person to even say hi to him." The rabbit looked at the dragon and noted how worried his face was. She sighed softly and nodded her head, "ok Tyler I'll inform your teachers that you have the rest of the day off. When Daniel dose wake up he is under your care, I want you to take him back to his room and make sure that he gets some rest." Tyler nodded his head in agreement as he took his own bag off and leaned back in the chair as he waited for the sleeping boy to wake.

I sure hope that he is ok. Tyler thought to himself softly

As Daniel lied there unconscious his mind wandered from image to image. Different places from his past appeared and vanished, faces of all the people he knew, students in his classes raced around him. But one face repeatedly showed up. It was the smiling face of a dragon. His silver eyes sparkling gently and his expression warm and kind. But the darkness that surrounded Daniel swallowed him up.

Daniel yelled out and bolted up. The light blinding him for a second before his eyes readjusted them selves and he saw where he was. Sitting up on the bed in the nurse's office Daniel tried to recall how he had gotten here. "It's ok" a voice said gently as a hand was placed on his arm. Daniel was shocked to find the hand belonged to the same dragon he had met on the top of the roof.

"How...... how did I... I...." Daniel took a deep breath to calm his nerves when he found himself stuttering. The dragon smiled at him and laughed softly, "It's ok you don't have to be nervous." Daniel blushed and scratched the back of head,

"How...how did I get...here?" He stuttered out eventually.

"After I said hello you fainted and I carried you down here." Daniel felt his face explode. He was certain that if he was in a cartoon his face would be tomato red and steam would be coming out of ears. "There is no need to be embarrassed, I am just glad that you are ok. Now do you want to try and stand up?" Daniel nodded his head and swung his legs over the side of the bed. Slowly he stood up but his legs were like jelly and he began to fall forward only to fall straight into the arms of the dragon. "Th..... thank you." Daniel stuttered as Tyler lifted him up gently and placed him back on the bed. "No problem. Now I think I'll introduce myself again," the dragon held out a clawed hand. "Hi there I'm Tyler Sparks." Daniel smiled softly and shook the dragon's larger hand.

"Hi I'm Daniel Creek." The two teens laughed softly.

When Laura heard laughing she came out her office to find that the young human had woken up finally. "Good to see that you are awake Mr. Creek. I was beginning to worry as you have been out for two hours." Daniel's jaw dropped,

"I've been out cold for two hours?" Both Tyler and Laura nodded their heads, "but don't you have classes?" Daniel enquired, looking into the dragons silver eyes.

"Yeah but I have been signed off as I am looking after you. I mean I couldn't just leave without fully making sure that you are ok. So when you are able to walk again I'm taking you back to your room."

"I.. I don't know what to say." The boy looked at the floor not knowing what to say to the older male. "You don't have to say anything. Well it's gone 3 o'clock and I think we should get you back to your room so you can get a drink and something to eat." Tyler stood up and picked booth his and Daniel's bags up and threw them onto his shoulder before offering the human a hand. "Come on lets go."

"Ok Tyler." Daniel took the hand offered to him and stood up. He smiled at the nurse and thanked her for all she had done. Then he walked out still holding Tyler's hand.

Outside it had begun to rain. Tyler made Daniel stand close to him and used one of his wings like an umbrella. The two of teens walked across the campus slowly getting a few stairs from other furs. "I hate it when they stare" Daniel whispered softly.

"Don't let it bother you ok. Who cares what they think as long as you are happy what gives them the right to bring you down?"

"I know but I just can't help it I..." he trailed of as he didn't know how to finish the sentence. "So Tyler what are you studying here?" Daniel asked after a few moments of silence.

"Well I am doing psychology, sociology, philosophy and advanced science. I'm in my second year in all of them. What about you?"

"Well I am also doing advanced science but I am also doing English literature, Geography and also Art and Design."

"Sounds like you are very creative." Tyler commented as they approached the large building that was student accommodation. Daniel blushed again and turned his head to one side. "I.., well I..." Daniel stuttered again. The dragon laughed softly as used his key to open the front doors to the building. "What floor are you on?" Tyler asked as he led Daniel to the elevator. "I'm on the top floor. Do you live in accommodation as well?"

Tyler nodded his head, "yeah I am on the fourth floor. Which is full of furs that like to play loud music. Sometimes I have to put a pillow over my head when I want to get some sleep at night." The elevator doors opened and they both stepped inside.

Daniel opened the door to his room and took his bag from Tyler. Throwing it onto his bed as he grabbed a change of clothes and went to change in the bathroom. Tyler placed his bag on eth small table and looked around the boy's room. It was very tidy and he was amazed at all the books he had. There was nothing on the walls but on Daniels bed were loads of notes and papers that the human probably gotten from class.

Being a little nosey the dragon bent sown and picked up a few of the papers and was shocked to see that it was a story. Or at least part of one, he grabbed the papers and sorted them out before sitting down in the armchair and began to read. Five minutes later Daniel emerged wearing a blue t-shirt and genes. He threw his dirty clothes into the laundry bin he had and headed over to the counter where there was a small sink and kettle. "Would you like a drink Tyler?" The dragon looked up from the page he was on and nodded,

"Yes please could I have a cup of tea?"

"Sure." Daniel got on with making them a drink while Tyler continued to read. The story was brilliant. Full of fantasy and imaginative characters,

He is really good at this. The dragon though to himself as he placed Daniel's story back onto the bed. "So are you enjoying it here so far?" Tyler asked as he stood up and walked over to the boy. "Yeah I guess I just wish that I wasn't so shy and nervous all the time. Maybe then I could make some friends here." Daniel said with a slightly depressed tone. The dragon lowered his head and whispered into the human's ear, "well I am your friend and I think you are a really good writer." Daniel froze and blushed as he felt the dragon's soft voice by his ear. He quickly finished making the tea and passed a cup to Tyler who took it thanking him.

They continued to talk for hours. Tyler told Daniel all about himself and couldn't help but smile when he saw the boys brown eyes light up behind those glasses. But when it came for Daniel telling the dragon about his past he stuttered and ended up going silent. "Sorry Tyler but I just don't like talking about my past. It's not because it was bad, it's just difficult." The dragon nodded his head softly and leaned forward wrapping a hand around Daniels and squeezed reassuringly. "It's ok. You can tell me when you are ready and I will listen."

Daniel smiled but they yawned. Tyler couldn't help but burst out laughing making the human blush for what must have been the hundredth time today. "I think you should get some sleep."

"What about you, aren't you tired?" Daniel asked.

"Yeah but knowing my luck I'll be kept awake for a few more hours." Tyler moaned.

"Well... um... if you want... you could... well that is..."

"What is it Daniel? You can tell me." The boy took a deep breath and sighed softly before speaking quietly. "You could always stay here tonight if you want?" Tyler looked at him for a few seconds before getting up and sitting down next to him. He wrapped his arms around the small boy and hugged him gently. "I would like that. Thank you very much Daniel."

Daniel sighed softly enjoying the warm hug from the older teen. "Call me Danny." He said before closing his eyes. They sat there for a while, Tyler holding the boy close. His warm scales slowly sending Daniel to sleep, when Tyler noticed that the boy had fallen asleep he gently lifted him up and laid him down in bed. Pulling the quilt over him and brushing a few stray hairs out of the human's eyes.

Standing up straight he gazed down at the boy feeling something stir inside he chest, not knowing what it was he ignored it and grabbed the spare blanket that was under the bed and two pillows. Getting comfortable on the floor the dragon took off his t-shirt and jacket and placed them on the arm of the chair. Laying his head on the pillow he slowly began to fall asleep listening to the soft breathing of the boy that lay fast asleep on the bed who he had only met that day.

As days turned into weeks and October turned into November Daniel and Tyler became inseparable friends. Daniel still felt intimidated by the dragon's height but was comforted by Tyler's kind heart and ability to make him laugh no matter how upset or down he was. They spent every lunchtime and free period on the roof of the main building talking, reading or just having a laugh.

Tyler had grown very fond of Daniel and valued their friendship above all else. But as each day passed his feelings grew deeper and stronger. But he just ignored them as he thought it was just his mind reminding him how much the boy made him smile and laugh. Daniel had gotten the dragon into writing and on a few occasions had been sketched by the fourteen year old. Daniel fused to let him see them and kept his sketchpad in his bag that very rarely left his sight. And when he would sleep in the boy's room Daniel would hide because he knew that the dragon would no doubt look for it while he was asleep.

But one day near the end of November there was an incident. Daniel and Tyler had been walking through campus like they always did when two furs, a lion and a coyote decided to start a fight with the dragon. Tyler immediate pushed Daniel behind him so that he stood between the boy and bullies. "Hey Tyler nice pet you got there" the lion called out laughing. "Shut it Craig. Just go back to whatever shit hole you crawled out of stay there. Don't forget to take your bitch with you as well."

The coyote growled at this comment and lunged at the dragon but was thrown to the ground with a swift swipe of his scaled arm. "Lets go Tyler please. Lets just go." Daniel pleaded with the dragon. But Craig didn't give him a chance. The two began to fight and Daniel began to step back, tears forming in his eyes and his heart beating rapidly against his chest. He was scared and he wanted to run, memories from his past flooded into his head and turned and ran crying softly.

By the time Tyler had finished with both the bullies he was shocked to see that Daniel was gone. He quickly asked the feline that had been watching the whole thing where he had gone. "Sorry Tyler but he ran off crying." She said apologetically.

"Why would he do that?" The dragon asked.

"Didn't you know? Well apparently when he was just a kid he saw that fight that happened years ago in the mall between those two furs. That's why he's so shy around us, it's because he is scared of us. I bet seeing his only friend turn violent brought back some bad memories for the poor boy." Tyler stood rooted the spot with shame.

"Oh god." Was all that he was able to say. The feline squeezed the dragon's arm reassuringly,

"Go after him and talk to him about it. He ran off towards the river." Tyler thanked her and spread his wings. With one powerful swipe he was up in the air and flew towards where the feline had said she saw Daniel heading.

Daniel sat at the rivers edge, hugging his knees to his chest and tears running down his cheeks freely. He hadn't been that scared since that incident at the mall, and what made it worse was that he was scared of his best and only friend.

Why did Tyler have to fight them?

Why did I have to be so scared?

Why did those two bullies have to start on him?

These thoughts ran through the boys mind as he began to cry again. He buried his face into his knees and tried to block out the world around him. He wished with all his heart that he were stronger. That he could find the strength inside him that Tyler had told him was there so many times.

"I hate being so scared all the time. I wish I was brave like you." Daniel had said to Tyler one night as they hung out in his room. "You are Danny, but you just need to find it. Yours is buried deep inside you and you just got to find the key that unlocks it. After that you won't be scared any more." Tyler had smiled at him with that same toothy grin that Daniel loved so much.

That memory seemed like it was years old. A soft breeze blew and Daniel raised his head, he wiped away his tears and grabbed his bag. After rummaging around inside it for a few seconds he pulled out his sketchpad and opened it to his favorite page. On it was a drawing he had done of Tyler one night when he found the dragon fast asleep in the armchair, He had spent nearly two hours drawing every little detail of the dragon and coloring it in. making sure that he matched the exact colure of his friends scales.

Just looking at that image made him smile. He was lucky to have a wonderful friend like Tyler and he wished that he hadn't run away. Loneliness began to set in as he began to miss his seven-foot tall friend. His sapphire blue scales that had now become his favorite colure and now all eth writing the dragon had done for him lined the walls of his room.

"I'm sorry Tyler" Daniel said out loud. Tears slowly began to run down his cheeks again as the boy began to cry in longing to see his only friend again.

"Danny!"

A voice yelled out making him jump up to his feet. Looking around he couldn't see the body that belonged to the voice. That was until he heard a thumping noise above him. Gazing up he watched as Tyler landed directly in front of him, a worried and ashamed look on his friends face. Before he could say anything Tyler pulled the human into a tight hug as he not only wrapped his arms round the boy but his wings as well.

"I am so sorry Danny. I should have known about what happened." Tyler said softly into his friend's ear.

"It's ok Tyler you didn't know. I'm sorry I ran I should have been...." Tyler placed a clawed finger onto Daniels lisp to silence him. Tyler wiped away the few tears that were left on the boy's cheeks and smiled warmly.

"Don't even try to say it was ok. I am sorry I sacred you. I just wish I had known and I would have walked away. I promise not to scare you again ok. I can't believe how stupidly I acted." Tyler growled in anger towards himself. Still feeling guilty.

"Lest just forget about it ok. It never happened, so lets sit down for a few minutes before heading back. After all we have half an hour before my next class." Tyler grinned and Daniel Laughed. The sat down on the grass, Daniel leaning against Tyler's chest with the dragon's strong arms wrapped around his waist. They sat there and just listened to each other breathing and relaxed.

In the end they got up and grabbed their bags. Tyler kneeled down and pointed to his back. "Climb on Danny and I'll fly us back." Daniel's brown eyes couldn't help but sparkle with excitement at the thought of flying with Tyler. He wrapped his arms around the dragon's neck and Tyler stood up spreading his wings wide. "Hold on tight Danny here we go." Daniel was able to tighten his grip just as Tyler jumped and with one big beat of his wings they shot up into the air. Daniel cried out in delight as the wind blew his hair around wildly as they flew.

"This is awesome Tyler. Thank you so much." Daniel yelled as they flew away from the river and headed back to college. Thankfully Daniel was light and so easy for Tyler to carry on his back. "I'm glad I could share this with you. Now what do you think of going a little bit faster?"

"Yeah lets go faster!" Daniel yelled out excitedly. So many emotions rushed through him, filling him up with joy and happiness. That when it came to him like an unstoppable wave of pure elation. This was the key, his key. Tyler was the key to the strength he longed to have so many times. As long as he and Tyler were friends, Daniel felt that he could do anything and nothing would stop him.

That night as they ate a pizza Tyler had ordered, they talked about the winter holidays that were fast approaching. "You going back to your parents?" Tyler asked.

"Yeah I am. What about you?"

"Same. I just hope that my uncle doesn't get drunk again. He ended up burning the Christmas tree down after drinking a few too many glasses of whisky and then he burped. One second we had a Christmas tree, the next all that was left was a pile of ash." Daniel stared at the dragon and then burst out laughing, falling to floor clutching his side as he could stop his fits of laughter.

After a few seconds Tyler's laughter joined the boys and they laughed for what seemed like hours.

Wiping the tears from their eyes the two boys finished their pizza and relaxed by listening to some music and reading a book each. Daniel lay on his bed, head rested in his hands, as he was totally engrossed in the book he was reading. Tyler on the other hand kept glancing over at him. The strange feelings he had felt so many times before began to swirl around inside of him.

What is this that I am feeling?

Tyler kept thinking in his mind as he watched the younger teen. All that he wanted to do was hold him close in his arms and never let him go. When he found out what he had done earlier to him he felt like someone had stabbed him in the chest and twisted the knife. He couldn't believe that he could do that to the one person who knew him best.

"Penny for your thoughts Tyler?" Tyler snapped back to reality as he heard Daniel's voice. The boy was smiling up at him like always. Tyler couldn't help but find him cute whenever he did this. "What did you say Danny? I was in my own little world there."

"Yeah I noticed, but your mobile is going off." Tyler immediately grabbed the mobile from his pocket and walked out of Daniel's room.

"Hi ya sis how are you doing?"

"I'm good Tyler. I was just calling on behalf of mum and dad to make sure that you were coming home during the holidays?"

"Don't worry I am still coming. Like I would pass up an opportunity to embarrass you in front of most of the family."

"Not this time, I'm the one that will be embarrassing you this time,"

"Sure keep telling yourself that Clair. Well see you in a two weeks and keep our folks out of trouble."

"You bet. Later Tyler."

With that his sister hung up and Tyler walked back into Daniel's room. He wasn't surprised to find the boy half asleep on the bed, his face lying on top of the open book.

Chuckling to himself he walked over and gently moved him to the head of the bed and removed his glasses. Tyler saved the page Daniel was on and placed it onto the bedside table. Once he had pulled the quilt over Daniel, Tyler cleaned up and turned off the boy's stereo. Yawning loudly Tyler sat on the side of the bed and stared at Daniel, listening ad watching the boy sleep. Once again he brushed a few stray hairs from Daniel's eye and hummed gently as he ran a finger down the boy's cheek softly.

What are these feelings?

Tyler thought again as he yawned and lay down next to Daniel and placed an arm over the boy protectively. Lying there feeling the rise and fall of the boys chest as he slept. It was hypnotic to the dragon as he felt sleep creeping up on him. Without thinking he leaned forward and nuzzled the back of the boy's neck and licked one of his ears. Tyler's eyes snapped open and he leaned up and got off the bed as quickly as he could without rousing the fourteen year old from his sleep.

OH SHIT!

Tyler thought as realization dawned upon him. His hands started to shake and his eyes wide as he felt his soul crash and burn.

I'VE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH HIM!
