She serves the master now.


The world held only pain for the tarin as she opened her eyes, her vision dark and grey. Her body clung tightly to a memory of agony, even though her mind claimed it was all a dream. It had to be. A voice that was not her own whispered back that it was not. With a groan, she sat up, every muscle in her body screaming angry protest to the movement. "Is... is this the afterlife?" She asked no one, her voice full of fear and wonder.

"I suppose you could call it that." Came a gruff response from the darkness and echoed by the whispering voice in her head. The doe looked around, startled, but could see no one. "Arise, MidKnight!" The voice ordered. "Arise and serve your master!"

"Your will commands me," She heard herself chant subserviently. "For I serve Master Malthamus now. And forever."
