Living as a Skunk: chapter two
The next thing I remember was being slapped in the face by my mother. Appearently, I had been out for some time.
"Wake up! Wake up I said you, you, thing!" I sat up now really taking in what I had become. My mother is kind, loving one, she always did her best to protect me from the horid and destructive things this world had so many of. As I sat up, she kringed in fear and took a few steps back. I looked at her inquistitively.
"What are you?" she said in a harsh tine.
"Wait, you don't recognise me?" I replied questioningly.
"What is that suposed to mean? Should I?"
"Mom...its me...your son..." I stammered
"John? J...J...John? Is that really you? How...why...what did you do to yourself?"
"Mom I can't really answer that because, I don't know myself. However I think it has something to do with magic."
"Magic? Magic doesn't exist. Iv'e told you that, man, what are they teaching you at that school." she said sounding very confused. I then confessed to her about the musky coridoor, the floating, the teleportation, and finally the disappearing door.
That's...crazy." she pondered the situation.
"More crazy then me being a skunk furry?" I shouted then, realizing what I said shuttered in fear.
"That's right! I knew looking at those things would hurt you!" she ran out of the room
"I'm getting the police" she yelled as I chased after her
"The fandom didn't do this to me mom!" as I ran. She grabbed for the phone, but I slammed it down on the craddle, out of her hand.
"Young man!" she proclaimed.
"Obviously, I'm not a young man anymore, am I?!" I bellowed. Her face grew pale as she came to the realiztion.
: And besides, what are the police gonna do? Throw me in jail? Bring me to court? The police can't help us! Obviously these are powers beyond our control. Besides alerting the public to this may make the freaks inj the capes come back and do something worse! And if the government found out, Woah! They would run all kinds of test and scince stuff and DNA check and crap and I would never get to be free or anything." as I said it I realized how much smarter I sounded. I sounded like an adult , as oposed to a freshman in high school, as my mother looked at me with awe.
"Alright son, but we have to keep it a secret somehow." we both sat on this."But wait what if it's contagious?"
"Mom how could that be possible?" Though later I would find out she was kind've right. I snapped my fingers and mom looked up.
"You have an Idea?"
"That I do. You know that werewolf disease? The one that make people grow abseine amounts of hair?"
"Yes"
"We just tell everyone that I have that disease! It's perfect, you can handforge a doctor's note and everything!" She looked at me, then at the floor, then at her desk.
"That could work." I smiled as my long black tailed curled up into a little ball, just above my waist.
" Let's do it!"
After a few days had passed I called Nathan.
"Hey Nate."
"Yo dude! Where ya been! You've been out of school for like, days man!" He shouted into the phone
"Sorry man, I caught a major disease, wolfmans disease."
"No way! That's totally awsome! So your like all furry and such?" I chuckled to myself
"Yeah, but the funny thing is, I'm not that wolf looking, appearently I caught a different kind of the disease. You'l see what I mean when I come to school today."
"You're comin' to school? Sweeetness."
"Yeah, just tell everyone about my disease, we've told the school already, I don't want people looking at me funny k?"
"Sure man whatever you want."
"Ok, thanks again Nate!"
"No problem bro! Just hope you don't look to messed up haha." as he finished laughing he hung up and I headed to school.
As our car pulled up to the school and I got out I got a sea of reactions
"Hey where did that skunk come from?", "Man your mom must've been fooling around HAHAHA", "Hey look, it's one of those fur-fags!", "High five fellow fur! Great fursuit by the way!"
"No no no, I've just got wolfmans disease, you can go check with the office." As I walked past them, they all seemed generally confused. "It's working!" I though to myself. As I settled into my first class with my new body, I felt the cushion of my tail come up against the back of the chair. It felt, strangely relaxing and...natural as I turned to listen to teacher who stood afront me now. As the day progressed, I got more and more used to my tail, and later, felt as though it had always been there.
