The Blessing of Siblings (Incomplete!)

Story by Gorefang on SoFurry

I looked up to where I thought was the source of the voice that had been buzzing around in my ears. "Gore....Gore! Are you okay!?"

All I could see was this enormous, cloudy haze that seemed to move and swirl in on itself. My insides felt like they were on fire, a strict contradiction to the soft touch I was feeling around the side of my maw. "Gorefang! Answer me, dude!"

I blinked a few times, tried straining a paw up to rub at them, to no avail. Whoever happened to be with me realized my intent and wiped some of the accumulated liquid away from my eyes, and the figure that first greeted my sight...my brother, Tyler. "Ugh...Ty, w..what happened?" I managed to exhale the words between sharp, painful intakes of air.

He almost seemed like he was crying...he tackled my head with a hug and laid a giant kiss on my forehead and spoke words of gratitude to whatever God he thought might be listening through his sniffles. "Y..you, were just hit by a car, Gore."

Finally regaining some small measure of my sense, I managed to roll over on my side to relieve the pain from the pressure building up inside my body. "Ugh, I...I don't feel too good here, Tyler."

He frantically wrapped his arms around me and began crying out, the comfort was well taken, something in the warmth of his embrace helped keep my mind off the pain. "Just hang on, okay? I already called an ambulance, they're coming, so please just stay..." I lost the rest of his words as the haze, once again, took hold of my sight and I slowly slipped into a fleeting slumber.

High School Memories

I ripped the piece of paper off my locker tossed it away. The image upon it was still flashing in my mind's eye, creating a disturbing, uneasy feeling in my gut. I walked down the freshly swept hallway of the school I had spent 3 years in so far...

Yesterday was Rough

My day started as it usually does, me being up at 5am to run a few miles around the neighborhood. I loved the way the chilly air felt as the sun was rising. The change from sun-warmed fur to a cold, wind-swept coat was oddly intriguing. By the...
