Soft moonlight filtered through thin curtains, scattering shifting and shimmering shadows across plush carpet. The quiet ticking of a clock and its occupant's subtle footsteps were the only noises to break the room's silence, lending the air a tangible intimacy. Thalia's choice of nightgown only added to the effect, clinging to her subtle curves with translucent lace. A short skirt lifted from her hips as she spun on her heel, teasing her furniture with a flash of her plush rear. She paid her provocative show little attention however, instead focusing on the squat vase resting on her nightstand. Wavy, aquatic patterns decorated the vented vessel and betrayed its contents, clearly marking it as a basin of full incense. The Alolan vulpix stifled a yawn while she considered the container, skeptical it could grant her the relief she so desired. She rubbed the dark spots beneath her eyes and recalled her streak of sleepless nights, then shrugged her reservations off and twisted its top. A lethargic wisp of smoke snaked from the opening after a lazy moment, suffusing the air with a sweet but implacable scent. Thalia breathed deep and furrowed her brow as it bounced between several pastry-like smells, but sleepiness stole her focus before she dwelt on its familiarity too long. Her mouth dropped in a deep, full-body yawn, and she climbed into her sheets before her dreams claimed her then and there.

A lapse of consciousness, and thick clouds stretched to the horizon in every direction, concealing what whatever may or may not lie beneath. Thalia took a tentative step forward, then another and another as the risk of falling though diminished. A tantalizing smell ticked her senses and tugged her though the fluffy fog, tempting her forward as the dream-scape's only landmark. Her middle growled and grumbled as the delectable scents grew stronger and closer, keeping her locked on the ephemeral trail. Her persistence paid off as she stumbled into a modest clearing, where a bountiful feast steamed in wait for her. An insatiable hunger welled in her middle as she gazed across the expansive table, which brimmed with every treat and delight imaginable. The icy vulpine claimed the lone seat at the banquet's head, and while she debated over where to start, the feast made the choice for her. Thalia watched with curious interest as a flawless apple pie lifted from its tin and broke into an armada of slices, then rushed for her mouth one by one. Dense, sweet filling oozed across her tongue and filled her cheeks with the first impact, which avalanched toward the top of her throat with the second and third. A reflexive swallow cleared her mouth, but only for an instant before other courses followed.

Her nightgown strained against the increasingly tight curve of her belly, weighing her down and pinning her to her seat. Luckily, escape was the farthest thing from her mind. Thalia opened wide and indulged her hunger as plate after plate piled into her maw, powering passed the building pressure in her middle. A set of snaps split the clearing when her garment met its limit and fluttered to the fluffy floor, exposing her to the dwindling remnants of her feast. Her state of exposure kindled a heat in her cheeks, though she did nothing to recover even a fraction of her modesty. Instead, her paws groped and massaged her growing curves, relishing how her plush flab squished between her fingers. Muffled moans fought the influx of food while she explored the rolls and valleys of her chest, and her attention drifted lower and lower to her bloated middle. Her muzzle warmed further as her stomach gurgled and burbled under her palms, reverberating with enough volume to ripple across her figure. Despite her increasing size, her hunger never waned, even as her indulgent attention explored the only taught curve on her body. Her hands eventually parted, one remaining on the stretch-marked swell while the other grabbed the plush shelf of her lower belly. Arousal sparked in her core when a blunt claw grazed the rim of her belly button, only to shatter in a world-shaking crash.

Thalia groaned and rubbed the grogginess from her temples as her bedroom melted into focus. Faint fingers of dawn reached through her curtains and stretched across the floor, though her alarm clock had yet to go off. She teetered on sleepy indecision and debated getting up or returning to bed, only to find her legs lethargic and unresponsive. Her mind cleared as she commanded herself to move once again, though her body maintained its stubborn resistance. The vulpix groaned with annoyance and rubbed her eyes, hoping to dispel the last of her dreams, and her eyes widened with confusion and shock when they remained. The wreckage of her bed squeaked and crunched as she jumped with surprise, sending a vast ripple through her flabby figure. The sensations of her rolls wobbling against each other answered numerous questions about her scale, but raised just as many while she looked herself over. Thalia's single chin became several as she craned her fattened neck, unable to find the end of her bed-covering rolls. The shelf of her belly wobbled and jiggled with each futile kick of her feet, but refused to reveal the extent of her figure. Wings of flab swung from her arms and hindered the exploration of her upper body, forcing her to guess her weight.

A torrent of mixed emotions washed through her at the realization she was likely in the quadruple digits.

The shocked panic in her core gave way to urgency when a familiar scent tickled her nose, drawing her attention back to the vase on her nightstand. Thalia's eyes flashed with anger once she connected the dots, and she lunged at the vessel with every ounce of her strength. Unfortunately, her efforts only leaned her a few degrees to the side. Overburdened floorboards creaked with effort as she leaned back and tried again, subtly building momentum with every cycle. Her eyes sparkled with optimism as her fingertips skirted the vase's surface, but extinguished with her stamina. Wisps of ice traced her breath as she huffed and puffed with exertion, until she finally wobbled to an exhausted stop. What calories her efforts burned returned in the incense's presence, reversing her progress and miring her deeper in her own flab.

In the back of her mind, she wondered if she'd run out of incense before outgrowing her room
