A kobold's patience is tested by an inquiry.

~ The kobold calmly looked up from the book she was reading to meet the gaze of the excited cockatoo, their crest feathers bobbing along with the rattle and bustle of the subway. The lights flickered somewhat.

~ The tired sigh of repeating an answer so many times, "I'm not a dragon, and it's rude to ask for fire." The cockatoo's expression of stubborn hope gradually gave rise to a resigned kobold glare.
