Sundays were usually nice and relaxing for Rick, but lately things had begun to get a bit more hectic than usual. Meeting up with Ross was something that he hadn't done in quite a while, and with the bear now coming to live a lot closer there was going to be some hurdles to leap, since Rick's wife was also someone that was prominent in his life.

The lion had been reading the newspaper on the couch but he was frequently glancing over at the front door, expecting a knock to come any minute. His wife who was sitting over in a nearby arm chair and working on her laptop noticed the odd behavior and she smirked. She was a rather beautiful and fit albino lion, her fur a snowy white color that was exotic and would often catch the eye of many other men when they were out in public. He often counted himself lucky that he was able to hold onto a woman as incredible as she was, but at the moment he was craving something different. Something muscular with a gut and a rough attitude.

"You gunna be okay?" she giggled as she caught him just staring at the door.

"Huh? Oh..." he half laughed and cleared his throat as he looked back at his paper. There was nothing interesting in the news so he folded it and tossed it to the side before getting up. "I-I guess. I dunno it's been so long since I've seen him last."

"That just means you two will have a lot to catch up on." She smiled at him and closed her laptop. There came the sound of a large truck passing close by the house and then rolling to a stop right in front of the front yard. Rick could see it between the curtains of the window that dominated the south side of the living room. There came the loud sound of a door slamming shut from outside and Rick had to keep himself from looking too excited. There was the very real problem that she could become suspicious of how overly happy he was to hang out with Ross today.

Rick's wife got up from where she was and smoothed down her shirt as the big bear came up to the front door and knocked. Rick cleared his throat and went to the door at a fast trot. He opened it and beamed happily at the sight of the large brown bear. Ross held a similar smile and he gave an affectionate laugh.

"Rick! Good to see ya, buddy!" Ross boomed and opened his arms nice and wide. The two embraced quickly and they made a display of trying to squeeze each other into submission, but they seemed to come to a stalemate.

"It's great to see you too, Ross." The lion stepped back and held the door open as he swept his arm as an invitation for the other male to come inside. The bear nodded and stepped in, which was about the time that he saw his friend's wife come up to greet him.

"Oh! Sorry, this my wife, Sam. Sam, this is my old friend, Ross."

"I didn't know you were married!" Ross laughed as the lioness came forward. He offered his paw and she accepted it with a shake.

"Seems like you two have a lot of catching up to do," she giggled. "It's very nice to meet you, Ross."

"Likewise. Color me impressed, Rick, I never would have thought you'd be able to get someone as beautiful as this," Ross murred lowly and winked at her. "You're right though, we do have a lot to catch up on." He turned to the male lion and smiled warmly.

"What do you guys have planned?" she asked pleasantly enough.

"Oh, I've heard there was a lake nearby that promised some good fishing. Thought nothing better than to go out, pop a couple beers and chat the day away."

"Oh that does sound fun!" Sam was beaming at her husband and she gave him a wink. Rick chuckled a bit and rubbed the back of his mane. "I gotta say though, how did you two meet? Personality wise you're total opposites."

"Oh heck, Rick and I had a ton of classes together back in college. He was a regular hell raiser back in the day." Ross grinned at the lion.

"All right let's go!" Rick shouted suddenly and began to push at Ross's shoulder to get him out of the house but the bear was tougher to move than he looked.

"What did you study in college?" she continued on, entirely ignoring her husband's plight to leave.

"I went for economics. Quite a lot of cross over with business, ya know?" Ross grunted as he took a step outside, finally caving to his friend's persistent nudging. "But it seems like someone is a bit impatient so we'll have to talk later."

"Oh! I won't keep you then. You two have fun okay?" Ross was already getting nudged down the sidewalk that lead up to his friend's front door by the time she spoke. Rick turned back to his wife after the bear continued on by himself and ran back to her for a brief kiss on the cheek and then to dash back.

"We won't be too long!" he called over his shoulder. Sam simply nodded and waved as she let the door come closed. Rick continued to look at the door even as he continued to follow his friend. It wasn't until he was nearly to the vehicle that he turned and meandered around to the passenger side.

The truck was huge even by truck standards. Rick had to climb a small ladder to get into the cab and even once inside the seat he came to settle on seemed more like a love seat than an actual chair. Ross on the other hand was completely at home. The two slammed their doors shut at the same time and the bear turned the key right way.
