The Continent of Shadows
I appologize how short this is; but its how I describe my world (howerever fictional)
The Continent of Shadows
The skies, the waters, the very earth died. It was irrevocable; all
life was sealed.
Sealed in darkness, fire, ice, rage and the Bindings of Shadow. All of
a contenent was sealed in a cloak of Shadow.
Some say it sank, others say it was destroyed in a war of gods and
demons. It has been sealed in the Power of Shadow. Since then it lived
on in the shadows. Sometimes you can see it in the corner of your eye
in the eve of summer. In the last moment when the sun went down; you
can see just a glimpse for a fraction of a second; water, deserts,
towns and forests. Most think it is their imagination. Others see it
as it really is; they weep for the lives torn apart.
Chaos ruled; nothing ever could be the same. Fires froze, waters
boiled, the air poisoned and the earth crumbled. Many people died;
the ones who survived adapted slowly to the chaos around them. They
made things anew; mending a damaged world.
Then a new generation of people were born. They weren't born the same as
their parents. They were different. The sheer mass of Shadow Energy
changed them.
Some had powers beyond belief, others were cursed into beast forms and
others still died. The dead could not rest; they became Spirits.
Either benevolent, others malevolent.
Order was slowly rebuilt. Painfully slow things began to take a better
path.
Still the new generation of people remained. Most were cast out.
Labelled as freaks, murderers, filth and many other horrible names.
Some became bitter of people. Some stayed hopeful that someday they
will find someone to love. Others became disinterested with the
affairs of humanity and left to hone their own talents and skills.
Many people said hope saved them. Hope for a better life; it is
powerful. Hope is the light that kept them from the dark.
Then a fateful event happened; the people born with strange powers
became accepted again. The hearts opened to everyone; they realised
that they were still people with hearts and Souls. There were still
prejudices though; but there was peace between them.
