#9 of Poetry

A short poem that I wrote about American Government (I am an American), and the Illuminati/New-World-Order conspiracy theory. The original title in the brackets is a reference to ancient Rome's habit of using free food and gladiatorial combat to keep the citizens happy and distracted from more serious social and political matters.

Deception: Bread And Circuses

(03/06/2018)

Release the beast that lives inside,

All of the world you must confide,

With phone in hand and twisted grin,

Indulge in every single sin,

Self-absorbed and foolish too,

Ignore the truth in front of you,

Stand beneath artificial light,

Our lies ingest to give you sight,

Question us and disappear,

It's status quo to live in fear,

But revolution we can't win,

Our slaves rebel, shoot deadly pin,

Terror spread by flag of false,

Feel the increase in your pulse,

Allow us to take care of you,

For we know better than you do,

Your children are not yours to raise,

A God you aren't allowed to praise,

Self-defense and critical thought,

Will make our struggle all for naught,

So idols will save us from strife,

Technology controls your life,

Keeps you controlled so you won't see,

The horror that's about to be.
