Chapter One.

8th March 2334 Freedom Celebration on Chakona.

4:15am

Stephan Glazer woke up and snuggled up to his lifemate, hir fur tickling his bare dark skin as he wrapped his arms around hir. Nuzzling hir neck and giving it a kiss.

Hir tail had curled around his waist during the night, and he smiled at its silky warmth fur on his skin. He listened to hir heartbeat, slow and steady.

"Morning sweety, time to rise and shine." He replied, looking at the herm foxtaur, shi stirred and turned over to look at him with hir duel coloured irises, hir vixen ears twitching slightly. The sheets pulled away, exposing hir breasts, arctic white like her mothers, the right breast with the green pawprint surround by a red circle.

<Morning hun, who's making breakfast this morning?> shi replied, using hir telepathy ability. Then shi let out a yawn.

"I'll do that before my shower, you take your time having yours, considering the fur you have." He said, stroking hir back sensually. She responded by giving a sigh and kiss-licking his cheek.

"Mmmmmm that's nice." He murmured, kneading hir back slowly.

<Mmmmmm maybe we'll continue this after work?> shi replied, lightly running hir claw along his back and down to his butt.

"Mmmm I can't wait, but, first we need to get ready and get the kids off too school." He replied, reluctantly disengaging from his partner and got out of bed, looking back to see hir seductively lying on hir side, the sheet draped over hir taur body, barely covering her.

"Mmmmm what a sight to see in the morning." He said, winking. Hir response was to giggle and stretch, which made the sheets fall off further.

<I'll go get Stephillum, you go get Solarblaze.> shi replied, also arousing hirself from the bed. Hir seductive movement stirred his loins. He smiled, thinking back to the day that they first met; 23 years ago back on Terra.

Stephan put on the dressing gown and made his way to his child's room.

On the way to his daughter's bedroom, he was greeted by Voxanna, another house mate as well as a herm vixen. Shi was coming out of the bathroom, also getting ready for work.

Shi was wearing just a towel, the bottom coming to hir thighs. Hir hair was wet.

"Morning Voxy." He said, an affectionate nickname he'd given hir.

Shi yawned and stretched hir arms, showing off hir ample bust to the dark human male, something shi love to do.

"Oh, good morning Stephan, ready for another hard day at work, hmm?" shi replied, with a smile, looking at him with hir deep green eyes.

"Yes, the bills won't get paid by themselves hun." He said, giving hir rump a smack. Feeling that shi was naked underneath, Stephan kept his hand there, rubbing slightly before removing it.

"Hey, keep that up, and I'll tell Nati." Shi said, giving a mock look of embarrassment.

"Please do, it'll get hir in the mood." He said, winking.

Voxanna gave a sultry laugh, and proceeded into hir own bedroom, where hir child Crysteen was sleeping in the crib. Voxanna had woken up to start work at the Tit n Ass Club. Voxanna worked as a pole dancer, and had already won one trophy and Employee of the Month. The award was pinned to a poster of hir hanging from a pole, smiling.

Looking at hir child, dressed in a yellow top with a pink heart with matching skirt, Voxanna couldn't help but smile. So small and innocent, and curled up asleep, hir thumb in hir mouth. Just then, hir mobile communicator buzzed. Picking it up, shi saw that it was work. "Hello?" shi answered.

"Oh, hi Pete, whatsup?"

"Hi Voxy, umm, there's been a change in shifts today, Crystal can't make it tonight, shi broke hir leg. So, could you fill in for hir?"

"Ummm sure, I was up and ready to get dressed to come in, but, a few hours more sleep wouldn't hurt, what time?"

"6pm? Is that ok?" the voice on the other end said.

"Sure, Stephan and Nati would hopefully be back by then, so they can babysit the little one. I'll see you at 6 Tail High" shi replied.

"Tail High to you too Foxy." And with that, the phone clicked as hir boss hung up.

Sighing, Voxanna slipped on hir see through gown and walked out into the hall and met Illumanati as shi was on hir way to Stephillum's room.

"Ummm Nati dear, may I have a word with you?"

<Sure hun, what's up?> shi said, stopping.

"There's been a change in my shift, and I won't be home til later tonight, could you or Stephan watch Crysteen for me?" shi asked.

<Why sure hun, we would love too, in fact, we're planning on going out for dinner tonight, so we'll bring hir along>

"Oh, thank very much, you and Stephan are just the best." Shi replied, giving the arctic foxtaur a hug, then whispered in hir ear. Illumanati's eyes sparkled and grew wide.

<Oh did he now, that cheeky sod.> shi exclaimed, a twinkle in hir eye.

Voxanna started to giggle, then shi went back to hir room, discarded the gown and slipped into bed, under the silk satin sheets, the cool material made hir murr with pleasure. Setting the alarm clock for 11am, shi drifted off to sleep, dreaming of a hot looking herm tod, who held hir close and made beautiful love to hir.

Stephan entered his child's room and he looked down at hir sleeping form.

Solarblaze was curled up in hir bed, innocently sucking hir thumb, hir tail was wrapped around hir taur body, purring softly. When shi was born, the doctors informed Stephan that shi had inherited the telekinesis trait, indicated by the blue pawprint, but they were surprise that it also included a green circle.

The local skunktaur elders were mystified by the strange pattern accompanying the common paw pattern. They were also interested about Stephillum's pattern as well. Shi had a Green paw print with a yellow circle. Such strange occurrences were rare, and the family was a subject of much interest.

But they respected their privacy in light of the service they offered to the community.

Looking down at his sleeping cub, Stephan couldn't help but smile. Shi was only 4, 2 days from being 5 and lively, curious about everything that shi saw. Shi was a little bundle of energetic mischief. Reaching down, he gave hir a kiss on the cheek and stroke hir head, and shi opened hir green eyes and gave him a kiss lick in response.

"Morning dada, breakfast?" shi chirped excitedly.

"Yes, what do you want today?" he asked, opening his arms.

Shi thought for a moment, then bounded to hir feet and leapt into his waiting arms.

"Waffles, jam and cream." Shi answered.

"Please?"

"Please!" shi said, nuzzling his chin, and giggled as his rough stubble tickled hir nose.

"Done, but you have to eat everything up, deal?" he said, offering hir his fist.

"Deal" shi replied, punching his fist with one of hir own small fists.

"Piggy back, piggy back" shi squealed.

"OK," he said, placing hir on his shoulder, and shi moved around and held him with all 7 limbs.

"And the horses have bolted from the gates, thundering down the tracks," he said, bounding up and down and around the crib. Solarblaze was giggling hysterically; hir tail started slapping against his bum.

"Faster dada, faster, we're gonna win."

Stephan left the room, and continued with his race commentary. "Stephan is now on the home stretch, but the other horses are close behind, will he cross the line before the others?" he said, bounding down the hall towards the lounge, Solarblaze laughing and whooping.

Reaching the lounge and falling onto the large mattress both father and child hugged and laughed together. Then in chorus they said.

"And the winner, by a nose, is Stephan, gallant stallion of the Black claw clan."

Just then Illumanati and Stephillum came into the room, hand in hand.

Stephillum was 9 years old; shi was like hir mom, a foxtaur, but unlike hir mother's arctic white colour, shi had a bright red bushy tail, black fur gloves and shoes, white chest and black ears. Shi had bright green eyes, the same as hir fathers. Shi smiled at hir step sister and dad and joined them in the fray, and then both siblings started a tickling attack on their father.

Stephan tickled them back, but he was overwhelmed by the 7 limbs assaulting his body.

Then both his children just held him tightly, Solarblaze giving kisslicks all over his face while Stephillum hugged his waist, rubbing hir face back and forth.

<Well, while you 3 are having fun, I'll go have my shower, and I expect a large breakfast when I get out, understand?> shi said, giving Stephan a quick kiss and a hug to hir child and step daughter.

"Yes dear." Stephan gasped, after he got his breath back.

<Is Sunrise up yet?> Illumanati asked.

"Not for another hour or so." Stephan joked, knowing full well that shi was referring to his other lifemate, the chakat who was the mother to Solarblaze.

His vixen wife poked hir tongue out at him.

"Yes, I think shi's preparing for the celebrations as well as Solarblaze's birthday party.

Shi'd left earlier to go into Amistad to get some stuff." Stephan replied, getting up and going into the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

<Oh, good, we'll see hir later tonight then?> Illumanati replied, leaving the room.

While his first mate was washing hirself, Stephan placed oil in the pan and started breakfast. The children were quietly playing in the lounge.

Soon, breakfast was ready, and both young siblings and their father sat down and ate.

He ate the sausage's and bacon while his kids wolfed down the waffle's with jam and cream, making a mess on their mouth's, giggling when Solarblaze flicked a piece of cream at hir dad.

"Why you," he roared, wiping the jam creamed mess from his forehead.

"Keep that up and no desert tonight." He jokingly threatened.

Shi gave a lil whine of protest, and then proceeded to lick the jam and cream off his face.

He responded by licking hir face as well, which prompted hir to giggle hysterically.

Shortly, Illumanati joined them, wearing hir nurse's uniform. Shi grabbed a plate and put a portion of bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages on 2 pieces of buttered toast, with a mug of coffee.

<Oh, dear, Voxanna just told me that hir shift had changed, shi's doing the night shift, and was wondering if we could look after Crysteen for hir.> shi thought.

"Um that's no problem, we'll just take hir with us to dinner." He replied, placing another portion of bacon and egg in his mouth.

<Oh, and shi told me about your roaming hands, now sweety, what have I told you about that?>

"Make sure that you are watching as well?" he joked, giving hir a wink.

Illumanati just giggled and poke hir tongue out at him.

When Stephan finished his breakfast, he kissed his mate on the muzzle, placed the dirty dishes in the sink and proceeded to have his shower before work.

Taking off the gown and boxers, he turned the water on and adjusted the stream, and then he stepped under the gentle cascade of warm water, soaking himself.

Then he lathered himself with the fur body shampoo, even though he was human, he like the scent of the furry shampoo over the human shampoo.

After washing the soap off, he stood under the warm water and thought about his life, about the heartaches they have endured and witnessed.

The deaths of Nati's parents, the burning down of thier cottage.

The burning down of his clinic in WA that nearly claimed his wife and newborn baby's life.

But he then thought of the joys, the day that he and Nati declared themselves denmates, giving birth to Stephillum, meeting his second mate Sunrise, and the birth of Solarblaze.

The trip too Chakona. Starting up a new life with his family. Ah yes, so perfect, nothing could be more wonderful than a family on a peaceful planet.

Giving a sigh, he turned the water off and stepped out and grabbed the towel to dry himself off.15 minutes later, he was dried and dressed in his doctor's uniform.

Both he and Illumanati worked at the small clinic in SilverLake on Didwana, south east of the Skunktaur Archipelago on the planet Chakona. They have been living there for 7 years, after leaving Earth.

Stephillum was born on Terra, but the situation with the Humans First movement had gotten worst, and with the destruction of their veterinarian clinic and home, had decided to move to Chakona to raise their child.

In route, they had run into an old childhood friend, Sunrise, also on hir way to Chakona to be with hir family, and they rekindled their friendship once again. That friendship quickly turned into a companionship then Denmates and finally Lifemates with Stephan and hirself.

Both he and shi conceived a cub, who would later be named Solarblaze, due to hir unique ability to blind people with a bright flash. This was a trait that hir mother also possessed.

5:20am

There came a knock on the door, and Stephan answered, to be met by a chakat loaded down by boxes and bags.

Sunrise was breathing heavily under the burden.

Hir fur was light blue, with red and yellow streaks running down the length of hir body. Which lead to hir name.

Hir ears were bright red and hir right breast had the red pawprint designated by the psychic ability telepathy, but it had a very unique addition, there was a yellow ring around the paw.

At first doctors and skunktaurs couldn't make out what the additional pattern would represent, until when shi hit puberty, the dormant power came forth. Shi soon learned that shi could momentarily blind people with a brilliant flash, which was a good means of escape.

"Well, are you going to just stand there, or will you help me with these." Shi asked, handing over one of the bags.

"Sure hun, here." He said, grabbing the bag from hir. Then they proceeded to go into the living room. Shi placed the bags on the large table, and he did the same with one he was carrying.

Then both human and chakat embraced and gave each other the wettest kiss they could.

He revelled in the feel of hir breasts and hir hands on his body.

He in turn started petting and stroking hir fur, scritching hir ears, which made hir purr in excitement.

Shi ran hir fingers through his hair, smelling the fur shampoo that he used.

"Mmmmmm you smell nice, pity that you start work soon, otherwise we can continue this in the bedroom." Shi murmured in his ear, licking him on the earlobe, which caused him to shudder. He could feel himself getting aroused, and stopped the embrace reluctantly so that he could compose himself. No good turning up at work with a morning glory, he thought.

When they disengaged, Stephan asked, "Did you get everything?"

Shi shook hir head, "No, Solarblaze's gift hadn't arrived yet; they said it would be in later this morning." Shi let out a sigh. "So, where is my lil bundle of terror?"

"I think shi's having hir bath with Steph."

"Ok, is breakfast ready? I'm starved." Shi asked, going to the kitchen.

"Yes dear, will you be ok getting the kids off to school, Illumanati and I have to start our shift today."

"Sure, sure." Shi gave him one more kiss then a hug and squeezed him on the ass.

He gave his kids a farewell kiss, as they were still in the bath, and he left before they could splash him with the water.

Stephillum was washing his sister's back with a brush, and shi was smiling and purring contently.

Nati and Stephan both gathered their belongings and left the house.

Getting into the PTV, Stephan drove away, watching Sunrise, standing in the door, wave to him, so he waved back. The last thing he saw was Solarblaze, dripping wet, leaping into hir mother's arms and hugging hir tightly. Then the house door closed.

The trip to the hospital in SilverLake was quiet and peaceful, not a lot of traffic was on the road, only a few delivery vans hurrying to drop off their packages before the festivities began.

The trip only lasted 20 minutes, so they both had time to get a cup of coffee and go over the day's itinerary before they started work.

Parking the PTV, both husband and wife entered the reception room and greeted the young rabbit morph behind the counter.

"Morning Prue how was the graveyard shift?" Stephan asked, logging in to the hospital security check in station to register beginning his shift.

"Oh, it's been quiet, only one patient all night, just a cub getting hir head stuck in a jar. You know, hir parents were thinking about suing the manufacturer over creating dangerous head grabbing jars, saying that they're a menace to cubs and kits everywhere." She giggled, as she finished up a medical report.

<And what did you tell hir?> Nati asked, also signing in and grabbing the schedule roster for the day, going over it to see what appointments were booked in.

"I said 'You do realize that children have been getting heads and limbs and fingers and toes stuck in all manner of things for thousands of years, if we sued all the companies over this, we won't have these items any more.'" And she giggled.

<Too true> shi said.

On the schedule were 5 appointments, 2 broken limbs, Mrs Longmane's pregnancy check-up, a genital inflammation on a male tod and a severe allergic reaction to one of the rare insect bites on a cub.

"Has Sasha arrived yet?" Stephan asked, going over his schedule, which was lighter in appointments than Illumanati's.

"Yes, shi's in the lounge, eating hir breakfast, I sure wish shi'll hurry up and relieve me, I'm so bushed." She said, stifling a yawn.

Stephan giggled and gave her a lil pinch on the bum.

"Hey, sexual harassment." She screamed, and then gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, then started giggling when he tried to return the kiss.

"Go on, head on home; I can manage the desk till Sasha finishes hir breakfast." Stephan replied.

"Thanks, See you at 8 tonight for the celebrations?" she asked, grabbing her belongings, which consisted only of her handbag.

"Sure, the clinic will be closed, but I'll be on call if any emergencies come up. Meet you at the regular restaurant for dinner?"

"Definitely, will you be bringing your 2 adorable children with you?" she asked, with a smile on her face.

"Of course, wanna cuddle Solar for awhile?" he asked, giving a wink.

"Oh can I? Really?" she said with excitement in her voice.

"Definitely, see you there at 8." He answered grinning.

"And don't be late." She said, bounding out the door.

6:02am

Sasha relieved Stephan at the desk; shi removed the swivel chair so shi could sit on hir chakat hunches and answered the phone or typed up the daily medical reports on the computer.

Shi was a young chakat, only 21, but eager and optimistic in doing hir job.

The advantages of having a chakat on during the day, was what ever was wrong or bothering the waiting room patients, shi would empathically project calm and well being to the patients.

6:30am

The broken bones were an easy 20 minutes mend with Illumanati's healing ability, and soon the two patients were bounding out of the treatment room like nothing was wrong to begin with.

They paid the medical bill and left.

7:00am

Mrs Longmane, a mare morph, who was expecting her first child, chatted and fretted over the raising of her first born, asking questions, some of them silly while others were important.

Illumanati answered the questions as professionally as shi could, while running her hands over the swollen belly, sensing and probing the unborn foal, checking the heart beat, blood pressure, and any other vital signs in the expecting mother and the foetus.

After telling the mother that she and the baby foal were fine, Illumanati waved them goodbye and gave the medical file too Sasha to type up.

She grabbed a cup of coffee from the lounge and went back to hir office and sat down, sipping it slowly, enjoying the warm liquid.

Stephan walked in and gave hir shoulders a light massage, relieving the tension and tiredness.

Using hir ability to heal or diagnose drains hir energy, physically and mentally.

To concentrate and project the image and feelings of the patient so that she could understand what is wrong sometimes upsets hir.

"Nati, what's wrong?" he asked, kneading the sore tired muscles.

<Mmmm I was just wondering if we should have another child?> shi said telepathically to her lifemate.

"What's brought this on all of a sudden?" he asked, as if he didn't need an answer to the question. He could tell that hir sudden maternal instincts surfaced around pregnant patients.

<Oh, just seeing Mrs Longmane, so happy and scared at the same time, just reminded me of when I had Stephy, I was the same. Unsure of how shi would turn out, will shi be healthy, even though I could tell that shi was fine, with my ability so acute.> she sighed, giving a soft cat like purr, the only sound shi could make, despite hir damaged lungs and vocal cords that rendered hir unable to speak.

"Would you like another? With our financial situation at the moment? I mean, we're just getting by with what we make here. I understand that working at the hospital was too taxing on you, physically and mentally. That's why we opted to work at the small clinic. The pay is reasonable, but we do reap the benefits of seeing our children more then when you worked at the hospital."

<I know, I know, it's just my hormones kicking in I guess.> she said, her eyes closed.

"And don't forget that you agreed to take in Voxanna and hir child, until shi find's a place to move into."

Sadly, shi nodded hir head; he smiled and gave hir a huge hug, caressing hir silky black hair. "You know why I love you so much?" he asked.

<Because I'm so good in bed?> shi teased, hir tail curling around his waist.

He chuckled at that joke, knowing that he was the master of the bedroom.

"No, it's because you are so giving and caring and good natured, you would help any distressed, wounded or sick strangers..." he said, kissing hir lovingly, then they were interrupted by a timid knocking on the door.

<Yes?> Illumanati replied, look towards the door.

Sasha opened the door and peered in.

"Umm you have another appointment at 8:30, a Miss Silverfur, she and her 2 cubs, apparently they're having trouble breathing. And Sunrise is on the phone for you Mr Glazer."

"Ok Sasha, I'll be right there."

Stephan picked up the receiver and greeted his denmate.

"Hi hunni, what's up?"

"Oh, just about to leave to take the kids to school, then going to do some shopping in Amistad, we need some essentials. Is there any thing you want me to pick up for you?"

"Um yeah, now that I think of it, could you pick me up the latest issue of Pethouse Weekly?" he joked, a sudden farting sound could be heard over the phone, and he envisioned Sunrise poking hir tongue out at the receiver.

He got a sudden jab in the back by Nati, who had been listening intently.

"Ouch, hey, no fair." He yelped, giving her a little jab in the breast, which caused Sasha to giggle and a few chuckles from the waiting patients.

"Now seriously, is there anything you want me to get while I'm out?" Sunrise asked.

"Yeah, I think my order of the latest PS 16 game Final Fantasy 21 is in. I have already paid for it, so you just need to pick it up." He said, "It's at the Electronic Games Universe store, do you know where it is?"

"Yes, it's right next door to Sexy Slutty Susan's Boutique." Shi replied, giving a little purr over the phone, a sensuous sexy purr that gets Stephan hard and red with embarrassment.

"Anyway, I thought about taking Solarblaze shopping with me, hir present arrived, but there was a hiccup, they got 2 different versions, and I thought I might have hir choose which one shi wants." Sunrise replied.

"Ok, you know, you're going to spoil hir rotten." He said, "Have fun and give my love to Solarblaze sweety." He said, giving a kiss down the phone. "Tail High"

"Tail High babe." Shi said, also giving a kiss down the line, then hung up.

Stephan gave a sigh then went back to Nati, who was going over hir files.

<So, how was Sunrise?> shi asked.

"Shi's good, shi's decided to take Solar shopping, apparently, there was a hiccup and two different versions of the birthday present arrived, so shi decided to take our daughter along to choose which one shi would like."

Nati smiled, then shi was drawn to loud hisses and growls from the reception area.

Going to investigate, the source of the disturbance was a Humans First Propaganda broadcast on the television set. Shi quickly turned it off, and helped Sasha calm the agitated, angry and upset patients.

Finally, the group was calm, and Nati showed hir next patient into the room.

The male foxtaur gingerly lay down on the examination table, and lifted his leg.

His penis was swollen and inflamed, sore to the touch. Gently, Nati placed hir hand on the member, feeling it throb, the tod let in a sharp gasp. Then, shi slowly used hir powers of teleportation to remove the troubling object. A small grass seed, had some how got lodged up the penile hole, and had gotten stuck.

After cleaning the penis with a warm cloth, shi suggested that he wear a condom in future if he's going to sow some wild oats, giving a mischievous wink.

8:00am

The next patient was a chakat cub, hir mother was trying to calm hir down, but with no success. The mewling cub was holding hir left hindleg and letting out enough unhappiness to upset the chakat receptionist. Illumanati gently placed hir hands on the cub and using hir diagnosis ability, identifying the problem. Her golden eye started to glow, and so did her hands, a soft orange tinge. The cub was fascinated by the sight, shi stopped crying and was meeping. The pain was gone, and the venom that was causing the discomfort started oozing out of the puncture wound. The cub was trying to catch the brilliant light from Nati's hands. Finally, Illumanati told the mom that hir cub was ok, and that shi should teach hir what bugs are poisonous and which are harmless.

8:30am

Illumanati's next 3 patients were a family of wolftaurs, the mother and her 2 cubs; all of them were coughing and wheezing. Illumanati told them all to sit on the bed, and shi checked them out using hir powers, shi frowns, and one by one started healing them, by placing hir hands on their chests.

Soon, they were breathing normally, and shi wrote up the cause and treatment on the personel chart, then handed them the bill then smiled and bid them fairwell.

Amistad.

8:36am

Sunrise walked through the crowd of the shopping mall, holding the handle too hir daughters leash, shi headed towards the escalators that would take hir to Electronic Games Universe. As shi was concentrating on the tugging young cub, shi failed to noticed the human also making his way through the crowd.

They both ran into each other, he landed on his rump while shi stumbled and dropped the lead shi was holding, and Solarblaze was off like a shot, zipping in and out of the crowd.

"Watch where you are going, freak." The human snarled, as he picked himself up and disappeared in the crowd.

Sunrise stared at the man as he left, furious at the insult, then shi snapped hir head around and panic gripped hir as shi realized that hir child was gone, swollowed up by the crowd.

"Solarblaze, Solarblaze where are you?" shi called, franticly pushing through the crowd. Using hir empathic ability, shi tried to find hir daughter by hir telepathic link, but to no avail, there was too much scionic interference by the other chakats and psychics in the mall.

Standing in the middle of the mall, Sunrise screamed hir daughters name, over and over, until a blinding flash and a deafening roar fill hir ears, as the bomb planted by the Humans First Terrorists ripped through the complex, vaporizing humans and furs alike who happened to be at point zero, while others were flunge through the air.

Sunrise covered hir ears at the roar of destruction, as shi saw bodies burning or pieces falling all around hir, then a loud creak and groan made hir look up, and hir eyes widened in terror as concrete and steel girders of the ceiling and first level landing came crashing down upon hir......
