The Beginning. . .Or is it. . .
The Beginning...Or is it...
My head is killing me. What the hell did I do last night? I thought to myself. Ah well better get up and get ready for school. My name is Marcelino. I know sounds complicated right. That's why most of my friends just call me Marc. Like Mark but with a "c". Well that's what they would call me if I had any friends. I was starting a new school today. I stood up and walked into the bathroom. I looked into the mirror and stared at myself. I was just your average 17 year old white high school kid. I was about 5'9 with black hair that went down to my ears and blue eyes. Unfortunately I was kinda weak, not really tough nor very fast but I seemed to be able to handle myself . . . somehow. Anyways I finally stop starring at myself and all my "gloriousness" and went to take a shower.
As I finished up drying myself off from taking my shower I went and put my clothes on. I was wearing a plain dark blue T-shirt, baggy black jeans and some black sneakers with red streaks on the side of them. After I finished getting my clothes on I looked at the clock.
"Holy shit!!! I'm gonna be late!!!" I said aloud as I took off out the front door of my parents house. I finally got to my school and with very little time left I took off sprinting to my first period.
"Hey Marc, wait up!" a voice said from behind me. "Hey what's up man? You just left me back there."
"Oh, sorry about that." How did this guy know me? I thought to myself, I thought that this was a new school that I was starting today?
"Hey, so what happened to you yesterday? I thought we we're going to hang out?" The man asked.
"We we're? Sorry but I can't even remember what happened to me yesterday." I replied.
"It's ok. I'll see ya after school ok?" He asked yet again.
"Actually I got to run home right after school. Family thing." I responded.
"Oh, alright then. Well see ya anyways." He said as he ran off to his class.
Who was that guy? I continued to think to myself. I just let it slide and went off to class.
The day seemed to go by extremely slow but I managed to get through it. The final bell rang and I sprang out of the seat I was in and took off out the school. I started walking home still thinking about how my day went, not bothering to pay attention to where I was going, and ran straight into someone.
"Oh I'm terribly sorry. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I told the figure.
"I-It's o-ok." The man replied. He was wearing a dark black cloak that covered his whole body so I couldn't see what he looked like at all. But what was the most interesting was that he looked like was nearly 8 feet tall!!!
He seemed to mumble something that I couldn't hear. "I'm sorry what was that sir?"
"N-nothing. I have to go. See ya later kid." The man said as he took off at nearly a jog.
I wonder what that guy's problem was. I thought to myself. I shrugged it off and continued home.
I got up to the front door, put my hand on the doorknob and was about to turn it when I stopped to think about what was going to happen this time when I entered my home. You see my parents weren't like most. Well parent I should say. My mother died in a car crash when I was only 8 years old. Ever since then my dad just got drunk all the time, and whenever I came home from school he would just yell at me and say that it was my fault and then throw things at me and hit me. That was on a good day. You don't want to know what happens on a bad day, trust me.
Sure enough, as I walked through the front door he started yelling at me. It must have been my lucky day because he decided not to try and hit me. Although he still threw stuff at me like plates and empty beer bottles. I ran to my room, shut the door and then locked it. I can't take anymore of this. I thought to myself. And I don't have to. I saved up enough money over time from my part time jobs to help get me out of here. I looked at my suitcase. I'm leaving tonight. I thought finally and started packing.
"Done." I whispered to myself. I looked at the clock as it read midnight. I peeked my head outside my door and noticed my dad sleeping on the couch snoring. Perfect, I thought. I grabbed the duffle bag containing my clothes, because my suitcase was too much of a hassle to carry around, and slowly and silently, crept out of the house. I shut the front door extra quietly so as to make sure I didn't wake my father. After shutting it, I turned around, and sprinted away, not bothering to look back.
"Finally," I said, "I'm out of that God forsaken house." I said aloud as I continued to run, not paying attention to where I was going . . . again. And sure enough, again I ran into someone. "I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I apologized.
"It's ok," he replied, "but kids like you shouldn't be out this late at night. It gets dangerous."
"Thanks for caring but it can't be as dangerous as my house. So I think I'll take my chances." That's when I looked up and noticed that this was the same man I ran into earlier. "Hey you're the guy I ran into earlier today."
"Indeed I am." He replied.
"How come you're still wearing that cloak? It's dark outside can't you see?" I asked curiously.
"Haha. Indeed it is dark but I ha-" He cut off and started looking around as if something were coming.
I stood confused and started looking around to see if I could find what he was trying to see. "What are you looking for?" I asked.
"You really shouldn't be here." And as soon as he finished saying that I heard a really loud shrieking noise coming from behind me. "Get down!!!" He yelled as he threw me behind him.
As I was thrown behind him the creature that was coming at me hit him, or his cloak rather, and pulled it off. His entire body was covered in what appeared to be fur. It was white fur from head to toe with black stripes. Like the white tiger at the zoos. But this white tiger had a peachish colored T-shirt with tan colored cargo pants. But unlike other white tigers in the zoos, this guy was standing on two legs like a human and could talk like a human. He was like an animal and a human mixed together. But one of the most interesting things about him is that he had a long sword in his hands, ready to defend against the creature. He cut the creature in half almost instantly and it disappeared. I didn't really see the creature because I was too busy looking at this tiger that seemed so much like a human.
"Are you alright?" He asked me.
"W-Wh-What are you?" I said right before I fainted.
