#1 of Tales of Nekir and Rain

Wow, I really have fallen far. Life used to be so great, so full of life, so... joyous. Now look at me, not a penny to my name, no job, no wife, and no kids. The only escape I can find is booze, wasting money I don't have on booze, only to be reminded in the morning with a headache dull and throbbing that, I still had nothing. The man sat at the bar, the liquor taking the edge off of his depression, from somewhere else in the area he was watched. She sat there staring at the man, unable to take her eyes off of him for some reason. He stood about 6' and was a good 190 pounds with black hair and liquid paper white skin. She moaned as her body reminded her of its need. She had been in heat for a good month now and it was starting to drive her crazy. She had to take a mate and by all accounts he would work great. The man sat in his little world as it slipped away into blissful darkness as liquor poured itself into his mind. Then a welcomed but unexpected intrusion bark upon his mind taking over his primal urges. Humm, something demanded his attention with wordless command. The man turned on the bar stool to see a woman sitting there looking dead at him with, some kind of hunger. The man sat there drinking her in, She stood about 5'8" and look like the everyday woman but something about her demanded more attention. What got him hooked was when he finally looked at her eyes, kinda hard at this level of drunk to do anything but stare at tits, for some reason the had pink irises. She was done! She had been waiting enough! No more! She got up grabbed the man and drug him outside, he either was to drunk to care or hadn't cared about his life in the first place. The man felt a new feeling as he was being dragged about, it actually felt kind of fun, or maybe that was just the booze talking. For some reason he felt safer than he ever did before, then he mutter out something unintelligible as he slipped into darkness.

The man awoke some time later after feeling like he had been haled around and flown by a pair of wings. He looked around at to his surprise he saw a pink dragoness. Wow, he should really start giving up drinking if this is what it does to him. And dam his head hurt! Wasn't he supposed to get the hangover after he wasn't drunk! The pink dragoness looked on him in a renewed enthusing. She crawled over to him and crooning asked, "Are we finally awake?" The man looked back up at her before laughing at himself, boy some dream now his illusions could talk, "No, apparently not." The dragoness looked down at the man with her head tilted, had she chosen a crazed one? She asked of the man, "What do you mean no?" The man chuckled, the illusion had a sense of humor, oh well two could play at that game, "I am dreaming and I will probably wake up next to something ugly." The dragoness pulled back and said offended, "I'm not ugly! Am I?" The man looked up at this and said, "No you are very pretty for a dragoness!" with that he reached up and patted her on the side of the muzzle, then something slowly started to click in his head. The dragoness crooned as she returned to being close to his face. She then said, "Why thank you! You can call me Rain." The man looked up at the pink dragoness, ah so now illusions have names, oh well play along, "Nice to meet you Rain, my name is Nekir." Rain chuckled at him for a bit as he stood funny next to her. Nekir stood as firm as he could and tried to shake something out of his head as Rain watched. Rain then asked, "What is wrong?" "Nothing just thought I would have woken up by now." Nekir said as he stood next to Rain as calm as possible. Rain chuckled then said, "Silly, you aren't sleeping!" Nekir looked up at Rain and said, "Then pinch me and prove it!" "Okay you asked for it." Rain said as she reached out and pinched Nekir. Nekir laughed at the absurdity until Rain made contact, Nekir yelped and jumped up rubbing the spot where a pin prick of blood had formed. "What? Ow, that hurt!" Nekir said then he finally started getting it, wait hurt? Dreams don't have feeling, so wait, I Must not be dreaming! "You asked!" Rain said trying to rid herself of guilt. Nekir looked up at Rain with fear. Then pleaded, "Wait please don't hurt me! I swear I didn't know you where real!" Rain looked down at Nekir with a brow ridge raised and questioned, "Who said I was going to hurt you?" Nekir looked up at Rain in surprise and blathered, "But all the myths say that dragons kill humans and eat them, or worse!" "Well I wouldn't eat you!" Rain exclaimed looking appalled. "Would the other dragons?" Nekir inquired, curiosity over coming fear. Rain looked down on Nekir hungrily making him kinda withdraw, "Well, myth is based in truth." "Did I ever tell you how lovely you are?" Nekir asked trying to regain his composure. "Well yes, but I won't get tired of if so quick." Rain said as she licked him lavishly across the neck. "That felt good!" Nekir said as he felt Rain's drool drip down his shoulder. "Its the dragon form of kissing." Rain said as informatively as possible. "You know what goes well with kisses?" Nekir asked seeing if Rain would get it. "No, what?" Rain asked oblivious to the set up. "Hugs!" Nekir rammed himself into Rain on sudden urge, doing so he knocked the two of them down into a pile. Rain struggled for a moment before giving up. Rain crooned up to Nekir, "Looks like you pinned me." Nekir looked up at Rain's head which had begun to snake down at him. Nekir after some thought asked, "And?" "Now you get to fuck me!" Rain said with her voice saturated with lust. "I What!?!" Nekir yelled at this. "Do I really get to fuck you?" Nekir asked feeling stupid. But unfortunately for Rain, before she could answer a loud and screaming siren went off. (Digital Voice) "This is a code 13 blue alert. All no essential personal need to remain in their quarters." Then upon saying that, yellow lights went off circling around the room. "No way is there an undead out break!" Nekir screamed hard into the air in disbelief. "We have to go now!" Rain roared over the siren. "Why?" Nekir asked. "Because the undead can easily find dragons!" Rain roared back to Nekir full of fear. "I don't want anything to happen to you!" Nekir said feeling concerned for Rain. "Well is there anything we can do?" Nekir asked as Rain paced back and forth trying to think of what to do. "Well my mom said she would kill me if I used this portal..." Rain froze opened the portal and stood in front of it. "But we can use it as a last resort." (Digital PA) "Reanimated Homosapein Activity level has reached critical level, Preparing to release sulfuric gas." "Yeah I say last resort!" Nekir said looking at Rain as she stood before the portal biting her talons. Rain was about to respond, but there came a server and heavy pounding at the door. And before Nekir could even turn around the undead had broken through, and where climbing into the room over each other. "We have got to go now!" Nekir yelled as he slammed into Rain sending the both of them into the portal.

And just as suddenly as they had entered they where there. Falling a good 20 feet into a warm and sulfur smelling water. They landed at a shallow end, Rain looked over her shoulder and closed the portal. She murmured and collapsed on top of Nekir. "Rain?" Nekir said as he shook Rain. Rain was unresponsive. "Rain! Please don't die on me!" Nekir said as he started to tear. "You can stop yelling." Rain said weakly. "Your okay?" Nekir asked trying to see if his last friend in his world was alright. "Honestly, no..." Rain muttered getting heavier on Nekir. "Why? What is wrong!?!" Nekir asked on the verge of crying. "I am tired from all of the magic, I won't be able to do much for the next some days..." Rain passed out with that. "I will take care of you Rain." Nekir said to himself as a promise.

Nekir had gone around looking for necessities, he sighed to himself as he was forced to make do with what ever he could caught nearby. Upon many misses he managed to land to get a small deer. When he managed to make it back to the cave, Rain had managed to make it to a wall and prop herself up against it. "Got some food Rain." Nekir said making his voice try and sound cheerful. "Oh goody..." Rain muttered trying to sound happy but failing horribly at it. "What is wrong?" Nekir asked. "I used the wrong type of magic, and now I might die..." Rain said looking at Nekir with sad eyes. "What!?! No! I won't let you!" Nekir said looking tearfully at Rain. "You mean you risked your life to save me!" "I think your special..." Rain said as she pulled Nekir close. "You silly dragon you should have left me behind!" Nekir said as he cried into Rain's shoulder. "Ssh, I did it because I like you..." Rain muttered placing her head on top of Nekir's head. "But why might you die!?!" Nekir sobbed into Rain's chest. "I don't want you to die!" "I might not make it if they don't get here soon..." Rain muttered as she passed out again. Rain started getting cold in Nekir's grasp. "No dam-it! You will not die on me!" Nekir said as he ran out to quickly grab some firewood. When Nekir got back to the cave Rain didn't look any better. "Rain I am going to make sure you live!" Nekir worked hard on the wood until it caught fire. Happy with his work Nekir dragged Rain over to the fireside. "Um, thank you Nekir..." Rain awoke for a short time. "Why are you so weak?" Nekir asked generally concerned. "Because I used all of my love and heat energy..." Rain said as she looked up Nekir with a smile. "Could you have made it out of there alone and not be on death's doorstep?" Nekir asked feeling that he was to blame. "I could of, but then I wouldn't have someone as loving as you..." Rain said giving a weak lick up the side of Nekir's head. "Rain you will make it! Right?" Nekir asked feeling hopeful. "At least I have three days..." Rain sighed out. "Then what?" Nekir asked fearful of the answer. "Then I am shit out of luck..." Rain sighed feeling inevitable. "You not going to die if I have anything to say about it!" Nekir said firm in his belief he could help. "And that is why I choose you..." Rain said happy with her decision. "You best live! Because I don't have anyone else!" Nekir said firm in belief that all life in the city had been whipped out. "Nekir... You will always be my love..." Rain said slightly pained. "Don't say things like that!" Nekir said as he kissed Rain on the nose. "Always this hopeful?..." Rain asked feeling the pain creep up on her. "Only with you, Rain please don't leave me." Nekir said tearful. "I won't leave you Nekir..." Rain said as the pain left, making it more of a promise than a wish. Nekir sighed and hugged Rain close as sleep took the two.

author's word Yeah and if that doesn't touch you, you are emotionally dead. *Sigh* nobody has managed to guess who Rain is yet, hope the clue in this chapter helps. And note also that Nekir really didn't pay much if any attention to his surroundings, he was head over heals in concern for Rain. Now that is focus. BTW this series is linked with the other two, yes the other TWO series.

TNR chapter 2
