Here's the second and last part of A New Home. It has language in it, and is semi suggestive. But I'll leave the rating at clean. You have been warned though. Enjoy.

Into the Horizon: A New Home Part 2

Bane and Scott were dumbfounded. A Cheetah who had walked out on four paws was now standing on his hind paws, a humanoid body had replaced his feral body, and he was completely naked with the exception of an earring in his left ear. It had an odd look to it, it shined with almost a magical quality. He was about six foot tall, and relatively slender. Even though he was slender, he also appeared to be strong. As he shifted his weight between his two powerful legs, the two could see the muscles moving in his legs. His chest was big and well defined, but it wasn't exactly cut in stone. He was fit, but not to an excess. Both Bane and Scott also noticed an impressive set of balls, but his member was securely tucked into his sheath. He had markings all over his body, as most Cheetahs' have, only his was slightly different. Behind him, they could see his tail swishing back and forth. His face had a look that appeared to be curiosity mixed with annoyance.

" Who are you, and why have you came here?"

" Sir," began Bane, "we are outcasts from a neighboring star system. We seek refuge as we seek to end the war and the three factions currently at war would rather us not do that."

A smile slowly spread across the Cheetah's muzzle.

" Admiral Williams told me you would be coming. Welcome to Abai, my name is Dasher."

With that he turned and began walking back into the now visible entry way into the structure.

" Are you coming, the base has been abandoned for a long time. Work must be done to make it habitable once again."

As Dasher walked back into the structure he swished his tail back and forth. He even lifted it ever so slightly giving the two behind him an ever so brief glimpse of his tail hole. He smiled to himself as he did this. Admiral Williams was a close personal friend of his. He had told him to take care of them as best he could. The good admiral had even sent a large quantity of supplies to the base. Dasher knew that the Admiral had quite a large number of ships at his command that were loyal to him, not the empire.

As they walked into the entryway, it became clear that it was an elevator. As they cleared the doorway, it suddenly was sealed and the entire room shook as it headed down.

" You'll have to forgive the appearance," began Dasher "I'm afraid I'm not one for mechanical things and haven't had a chance to do any maintance."

The elevator itself was quite large, although the metal it was made of had long since rusted to a dark brownish color. A small light was mounted into the roof, and there seemed to be no control panel that was accessible to the occupants. As it reached the bottom of the shaft, the door which had slid shut, opened up again revealing a hallway with concrete and metal walls.

" This bunker was constructed using very old construction techniques," explained Dasher. "After the civil war began with the Wolves, they were forced to abandon it because it could no longer be staffed, they simply didn't have the personal to spare for it. This base was in charge of experimental technology that was acquired though some way or another. Its purpose was to take schematics provided to it and develop it into a working model. A lot of technology was left behind as the evacuated; most of it was left in fact. I'm taking you to the primary control room right now. From there you can get this facility operational."

Dasher led Bane and Scott through a maze of corridors. The facility itself must have been extremely large, possibly even larger than the Siberia. Once they finally arrived in the control room, Scott was shocked to see how modern it actually looked. Suddenly Scott realized exactly why it looked modern. The facility must have been filled with tech from the core. They had never given much thought to exactly how much the tech from it had spread. Scott walked upto what appeared to be an engineering station, he was shocked to see that not only was the central power core functional, but it was actually a crystal power core.

"Bane, I can't believe this, this base is powered by a crystal power core."

" Well," replied Bane, "that's handy, it can give us all the power we need."

" Yeah, if we can get it up and running again."

Scott set to work; the core itself was in good condition. When they were not being shot at, they were extremely stable and could last for a very long time without any work being done on them. As he continued to study the situation, he discovered that it had just been powered down. It took thirty minutes for Scott to get the core back at eighty percent power. He didn't want to carry it up any higher without running a diagnostic on it. Bane walked to the center of the room and sat in the command chair. The chair itself had a control panel beside it and it was an operations panel. He activated it and realized that it also could control the communications system. After pressing in several commands, the central screen at the front of the room sprang to life and it was filled with the image of Capitan Max.

"Max, greetings from the Terrain command facility."

" You have secured it?"

"Not only that, we have gotten it mostly operational. We'll need a few repair crews to get things in top condition and we also need to sweep the base and taken inventory of exactly what's down here and get a general idea of what the place looks like."

" Can we use teleporters or do we need to continue using shuttle pods."'

" Capitan," began Scott "we can use teleporters as long as you give me some time to get the ones down here up and running."

" Scott, can we trust those."

" Yeah, there actually considerably more advanced than the ones on the Siberia. They came from some of the information on the core. They look good from here, but I would prefer to see them for myself before we transport valuable equipment or crew though them."

" Understood, let me know when you are ready. Max out"

Max sat on the bridge of his ship. A few months ago, he would have never thought this possible. They had a home base; the resistance had somewhere to organize itself. Furthermore, it was a very defensible planet and the base itself could probably withstand any bombardment thrown at it. Now they needed a leader. The council of Capitan's wouldn't continue to work as the resistance grew, and everybody knew it. They needed a strong individual who could make decisions and follow through with them. The council had discussed the issue without the knowledge of the three. They had decided against one of the Capitan's for the position of leader, as all three would leave a void. They had experience at their post, and would be needed in the time ahead. This left one of the three available for the position. Ron was excellent at a chief engineer position, but he lacked the willfulness to lead a large group. Scott was by far the best engineer that they had ever seen, but he too lacked the willfulness to do the job. Bane was the most logical choice. Already the council had been accepting his advice and thus far, he had led them to victory without fail. His judgments had been mostly correct, and he stood by his decisions. They had decided that he would be the Chancellor of the Terrain Alliance.

Scott quickly got the transporters operational, and they started beaming down supplies and personnel. Fortunately they had ran across several freighters whose crews were eager to join them, therefore they had crew to spare. In fact, it eased up the overcrowding problems onboard all three ships. They discovered that the facility was indeed very large. It contained sleeping quarters for a large number of occupants. It already had food stores provided by the good Admiral as well as some weapons and other random supplies. The facility was powered by a crystal core, and had defense shields that covered the facility. It also had force fields in most of the hallways and access tunnels in case it was breeched so that sections could be sealed off. It was also equipped with a sub space array, meaning that they could communicate with anybody, but it also had a main cannon that could be raised up from the valley. It wasn't a valley, but instead it was access doors for the cannon. It could blast apart any ship in orbit; the base was indeed built to withstand anything that anybody could throw at it. If its defenses were operation, it was all by indestructible.

They had a base, and three ships. They also had a new member of their party, but he hadn't been very forthcoming with information about himself. Bane and Scott never reported his changing trick to anybody, as they probably wouldn't have believed them. After dropping them off at the control room, he had headed back to his quarters and dressed himself. He had reported to the new owners of the base in shorts and a leather vest. He also wore some type of hat, why Bane and Scott did not know. They really didn't press him on it as they were occupied themselves. They had a feeling there was more to this kitty than he was letting on. However, for now they would trust him as they had no reason not to. But they would watch him.

Is their hesitation about Dasher deserved? What, if any, role will he play in the new organization being formed. Was it significant that I introduced him with no clothes on? We shall find out.
