Terveta-Chapter 2: Hostiles (Part 4)
The ground shook a bit again when he refocused just in time to see the monster rip across the bricked road at a breakneck speed, but he came at an angle Blizzard hadn't expected, and as a result, the husky didn't let his paw go for the first attack. The Alpha jutted to the side only half a foot and brought his knee up as hard as he could, aiming for the hostile's gut. It made a direct hit with as much vigor behind it as he wanted.
The beast screamed again and its body went sailing through the air, its back clipping the corner of a build and crushing the composition of brick into red powder. In an instant it was back on its feet, crouching and ready to spring again. The alpha pressed his feet firmly into the street and got his fist ready again.
There was an explosion of snow and the blurred illusion that the monster created with its movements. It came from the front, just as Blizzard had hoped.
He waited and bided his time, which was spent faster then anyone could really see. When he let his fist fly forward, there was another sound, like an avalanche of rocks summarized into a single harmonic. The husky could feel the hot pieces of his armored glove fall to the ground. His arm fully extended out in front of his body. He exhaled a held breath that came out as a snarling sigh. The hostile lay on its back several meters away, crashed into the front of another carriage. It was still, tongue lolling from the side of its mouth and unresponsive, as all hostiles should be.
Blizzard stared down at his bare paw and pulled his digits into a fist. A chorus of screams reverberated from the building walls all around him. He turned to the source and gritted his teeth. The fist he held in front of him exploded into thick blue flames that began to writhe up his arm. Two hostiles were running right for him down the street to his side, pushing against each other in hungered competition.
As soon as they got close enough the Alpha threw a plasma bolt as fast as he could. One leaped high into the air with all its might while the other wasn't so lucky. Just as the surviving beast soared overhead Blizzard let loose another powerful bolt right into the heavens where the two would cross. The bright blue explosion lit the area just above him and showered burning pieces all around. There was no hesitation and he was off in an instant, racing through the city streets until he got to a good point and leaped up to the roofs to continue on a higher level like before.
He saw them just ahead, dancing across the city towers like he was. A group of hostiles, counting about seven were spinning and leaping around a single Terveta, feinting every once in a while or giving a real strike to test her. The air space around her body rippled momentarily and suddenly all of the black bodies were thrown away in several different directions, thrashing them against buildings and knocking out sections of walls, but it wasn't long before they started in again, getting up from their disturbed positions to begin the chase like flies around a carcass.
Bree struggled against her attackers, her armor covered in a variety of sized dents and scratches. A hostile leaped at her from the front, managing to get a good footing on the roof of a building. The vixen whipped her paw out in front of her as fast as she could just as the hostile got within a few feet range. The creature gave a defeated snarl before splitting down the middle, blood rushing out from its body and raining across the ground. The others came in as fast as the first but she was ready. Shockwaves were thrown wherever she pointed or struck. Mangled hostiles were strewn across the air as the group continued to dance with her at the epicenter. Their bones and bodies crushed, falling to the ground below with echoing thuds.
