The Legend of Spyro: Path of Delusions Book VII Chapter 2
#116 of The Legend of Spyro: Path of Delusions
Chapter 2
Finally free.
Out of that stink hole where nothing could be heard, but the unending whines and grunts of weaklings, especially the old ones. If she wouldn't have enough of people jumping all around her, she would get up and put all those withered, hunchbacked twigs of people out of their misery. If they are in so much pain then they should die, as a favor, they are barely alive anyway, at least then she wouldn't have to listen to their complaints.
Fucking whiners.
If she would ever lower herself to the point of slicing her way through rows of groaning, nearly broken old people, she would start with that fucking, smelly, poor excuse of a cat that calls herself a healer, a slut that keeps bothering her.
At least then there would be a sense of accomplishment in this disgrace.
Iris scratched her eyebrow with an irritated hiss.
The damn left eye itched like chunk of dry shit clung to a strand of hair on an unwashed ass.
Her paw shot towards her snout, paw smacking against the eyeball, draconic paw completely covering the eye, or it would cover her eye if not for the material in the way.
Her claws curled, delicately sliding underneath the black eye patch, she gently jerked it away from her flesh. Fresh wind reached behind the soft material, lashing against her sensitive, regenerating injury with chilly, cooling and stinging whips.
The part of the world she examined through her left eye was a blurry mess, filled with black and red lines, as if a drunk painter would blindly slash with his brush across the canvas.
Iris groaned loudly when another lashes of the breeze assaulted her vulnerable eye, provoking her nerves.
With a soft groan she let go off the patch, patting at it gently, making sure it perfectly connects with her scales.
Fucking pain.
"Are you a bird miss?"
She blinked, in a moment forgetting all about the pain, itching and stinging. Like after a magic touch world appeared all around her, springing into reality like a bunny from a magical hat. Triggered mind was reminded of its place in the universe, painting in detail the surroundings that were unimportant just a moment ago.
Brownstone buildings surrounded her, tall and sturdy. Their height reminding her of the towers of her former castle, their formidability so similar to the feeling of safety home provided.
Warfang, the capital of this by gods forgotten world, strong and proud.
Oblivious to the fact that only a well placed crack is needed to topple everything down like wave of the hand destroys a child's sand fortress.
She growled, nearly steaming hate boiling within her.
Fucking pricks for brains, damn brats of cum bucket for mouth mothers, stupidly living in their world of delusion, spreading false hope of impenetrable walls and safe islands.
Fuckers.
Everything can be destroyed, everywhere a mistake can be found. Constructions are weak, whether spiritual or physical, all can be cracked, all can be ruined.
Her splashing bloody tears eye was an example of that.
"Miss? Are you alright?"
"Alright?" she mumbled under her breath, voice a barely audible rasp
She felt drops of water splashing gently against her cheek.
Iris shook her head, uncovered single eye opened all the time, noticing more of the city, like doors, windows, statues and balconies. Noticing citizens of Warfang, flying and walking, some paying her no attention, some hungrily examining her while others simply throwing uninterested glances.
She was on one of the many dais' of Warfang, a platform some might say that splits the long stairs in half, creating an ascending and descending portion of steps. Benches, statues and many other family friendly bits that improved the overall charm of the platform surrounded her, screaming silently that she would stay just a bit longer.
She however no longer understood the sense of beauty, she didn't hear the screams, grace of environment was meaningless to her.
All that mattered is that she was standing on the marble pedestal of a fountain, clean water being constantly poured into the stony bowl by mechanisms unknown to her. Didn't matter.
Construction is worthless.
Destruction is all that matters.
Resting at the bottom of the fountain a tarnished, without its usual shine and dirty golden bracelet only confirmed this.
Staring at the gently swiveling form of the bracelet under the water she impulsively reached towards her bull- like horn, paw somehow knowing on exactly which horn there was still a bracelet.
There was a soft, barely audible click when the sharp tip of her claw slid under the jewelry, finding the small hatch that unlocks the valuable as a king's fart ring.
Not even looking at her draconic palm she extended her leg above the azure water, dropping down whatever she was holding. With strong devastation clenching her torn to pieces heart she watched the sinking bracelet, it reminded her of ruined dreams and shattered lies.
Her own, personal path of delusion.
"You're weird"
Iris finally threw her head up, the whiny, annoying voice managing to irrevocably catch the flailing strands of her consciousness and pull them into a single bun.
In front of her, on the marble dais was sitting a cheetah cub, his legs were kicking lively back and forth, heels bouncing off the stone, dotted fur bright and in the color of a waking sun. Huge and carefree black eyes were alternately staring at her and the biggest slab of chocolate she has ever seen in her life, tightly held in a small, dirty, sticky, furry hand.
The boy was sucking at the sweet eagerly, the part of the black slab that was closest to his mouth looked like a flopped, soaked sock. It was dripping chocolate tears all over, the kid didn't seem to mind however, he licked and sucked at the slab eagerly. His more than once dipped into the wet chocolate whiskers were crying the same tears as the slab. The whiskers however weren't the only victim, young face also got its share of dark stickiness. Orange strands were matted, wet and nearly completely black, making the face look like one, big, dark dot.
Disgusting creature.
"Get lost" Iris hissed coldly, removing the last bracelet that was on her foreleg and throwing it into the fountain, where it joined the rest of the junk
Thump, thump.
Heels kicked at the dais lively.
"Why are you throwing your stuff away lady?" the boy asked cheerfully, smacking and slurring loudly as his lips smacked against the sweet slab
"You don't like it anymore?" the boy mumbled, combination of saliva and chocolate dripped from the corners of his mouth
"Ugh" she snorted, turning her gaze away, stupid brats were always getting on her nerves, the fact that this particular little shit is a disgusting glutton only empowered that hate
"Sooooo?" the boy leaned forward, his persistent hiss reeked of unwashed fur and undigested sweets
Images of her bashing that small skull against the stone until it resembled nothing else, but a cracked melon flashed before her eyes. The fantasy spiced by the delicious additional scene of drowning the cracked head in this very fountain, making sure that the body will bloat with water and explode.
The only thing that was holding her back from fulfilling her recently woke up dream was the incomprehensible reserve from landing in prison again.
She didn't know why, but she heard her own voice inside her head that she will still need both of her eyes.
Diamond eyes returned at the resting at the bottom tarnished bracelets. The waves vibrated slightly just above the jewelry, they pulsed and twirled around, eventually forming something that resembled an opened mouth.
It spoke to her.
Translating, everything in barely audible whispers, the words the bracelets wanted to make her aware of. She leaned closer to better hear them.
They told her she had still a job to do.
"Are you asleep again ma'am?" small, dirty hand shook her shoulder gently
Every muscle in her body tensed after the touch, tail that for the past while seemed to be dead as if she would cast it off like used gloves, suddenly came back to life. It momentarily slid in between her hind legs, wrapping itself protectively around right, back paw.
Icy tail tip began radiating cold, magical energy.
Diamond eyes a while ago distant and glossy flared up with a freezing, white light. She yanked her body forcefully away from the touch of the greasy, wet, sickening hand.
"Don't touch me you stupid brat" Iris growled, jumping farther away from the boy "Do it again and I'm going to bite your arm off and then shove it so high up your nose that fingers will pop from your skull and become feelers"
The boy licked his chocolate, unmoved by her words.
"You're awake, that's cool I think. City is nice, no time to sleep"
"If there would be a scrap of brain inside that skull of yours you would know that you can't sleep with opened eyes"
"My dad's older brother is weird just like you. He got hit really bad in the head in the war. Sometimes he sleeps like you, his eyes are opened, but he doesn't move. My friends say he is crazy"
Innocent eyes looked at her harmlessly.
"Are you crazy?"
That's it. It's about time to skewer the little dipshit.
Iris opened her mouth, brandishing sharp fangs that looked like they could cut through metal, a murderous growl building from within the depth of her vocal cords.
Then, unexpectedly her wounded eye called for attention again.
She smacked her paw against the black eye patch.
The growl died within her throat suddenly, when unexpectedly something clicked inside her head, something that she was aware of and was oblivious to at the same time.
Many already gone hours were like a flailing wildly on a pole tarnished flag. Holes dotted its surface, yet the material didn't sever, it was still a single structure, the holes being a part of it.
She just fell in one of those holes.
On the black side of her sight blurry bolts of memories flashed, trying to form images that simply couldn't be put together.
Her clean claws that were on the patch and in close proximity to her nose reeked of blood.
Her blood.
Pain surged through her wounded eye, bouncing off the nerves like a ball kicked by children from one side to the other. Intensifying whenever her claws curled into hooks.
There was a snap inside her skull.
She heard her own scales cracking, realizing that she knew exactly how much pressure to put to make them bleed.
How could I hurt my own eye?
The insane question remained unanswered, there was no point in seeking an answer when it wasn't needed.
She nearly torn out his eye.
The pain, the blood!
She practically bathed in it since everything sunk and was destroyed, does it matter who's in pain and who's blood is it?
"Lady?"
Why is it so damn hard to answer such a simple question!
With a furious growl Iris swiped with her paw blindly, the loud splash she created when her claws cut through water drew the attention of the nearby passersby.
"Lady? Lady?" the young cheetah whined persistently
"What the hell do you want from me you stupid brat?" Iris growled
"Is everything alright here?" an old cheetah approached them, arms folded behind the back, glossy eyes observing the young dragoness with an ingenious a gaze of someone who needs only a single glance to declare someone guilty
"Boy?" the clever, accusing eyes offered the child merely a brief glance, before they shifted back on the dragoness, hitting her with full force of their scrutiny
Iris' mouth twitched, wrinkles appeared on her nose, sharp teeth flashed and disappeared behind her jerking lips, dancing to the rhythm of her snarl.
This was it, the moment where old, sticking their noses in none of their business fuckers get dismembered.
Silver claws curled, leaving scratch marks on the dais. Before she gave in to the impulse of reminding these stupid people that she is to be respected, that they are shit ready to be cleaned whenever she wants it, she threw another glance at the fountain.
Her mouth parted open, wiping off the snarl when she heard the bracelets whispering an answer to a question she was incapable of replying to herself.
"You are crazy"
"You are crazy"
"You are crazy"
The bracelets sang softly, their metallic chorus sounding like grinding mechanical wheels against each other.
All that desire to tear the cat apart evaporated like water absorbed by rice. Something hard to describe, something like instinct, or some other form of misgiving, or something entirely else she simply didn't recognize anymore, told her, warned her and convinced her that she didn't want to go to jail.
Another duel would be dangerous.
Hate vanished, white eye landed on the cheetah, when looking at him she felt something she didn't feel for a very long time.
Fear.
She gave up, letting go off her dominant nature, lowering all of her defenses, giving in to submission.
Unexpectedly her chest heaved, wavering, sharp, soft whine left her throat. Tail made a single flick up, as far as it would go, thighs shivered and bent, pressing closer against each other. Front paws clenched themselves, claws scratching against the dais, desperately looking for something to squeeze.
The surprising thrill of excitement that shot through her body was breathtaking.
As she looked at the old feline the wrinkles on his face softened, gaze that was harsh became warm, whatever he saw in her forced him to make a step back.
Filling his eyes with silent apology and sense of guilt.
"Everything is just dandy sir!" the young feline exclaimed, spitting out drops of chocolate
The old cheetah was stunned, eyes locked on a creature that he never believed he could accuse of doing something evil and harmful. The draconic girl, her big, white eye looking at him was too pristine to be able to house wicked intentions.
The creature he looked at was beautiful as the aura of innocence surrounding her. She reminded him of his grandchildren, happy and awestruck by the surrounding world. Youthfully naïve and willing to follow the advice given by her elders.
The feathers her wings were made of, prettily groomed and blossomed added to the image of merciful divinity that made his old heart feel young again.
"T-that's w-wonderful" the cheetah rasped, voice barely audible
"Sir?" the boy asked worriedly "Are you ok? You don't look well"
The old feline's lips stretched, displaying fangs lacking smile.
"Don't worry about me boy" he waved his paw gently "Go on, play along, don't let this old fool trouble you"
With those words he turned around, hobbling slowly away from the duo. Hand rubbing in circles the ribcage housing the joyfully racing heart.
The child burst out laughing unexpectedly, mouth parting wide, streams of long, brownish saliva dragged behind his small fangs.
"Old people are funny!"
The laughter turned into a chaotic, choking cough when young eyes returned back on the draconic female.
"Whoa lady! What happened to you?"
"What?" Iris mumbled, accented voice sounding like melody
"You don't look weird anymore!"
She was surprised by the words, didn't understand them, wanted to comprehend their meaning. Seeking enlightenment by instinct or some other force that simply pushed her forward, finally able to breathe after a very long time.
Just before her nose directed herself at the water she shut her healthy eye tightly, remembering all too well what hid at the bottom of the fountain. With eye still closed she backed down some steps along the round dais, raising her eyelid only when she was certain that the underwater horrors were out of reach.
Iris looked at the water, seeing her reflection gently swaying on the surface. The black eye patch was the only difference she noticed in her appearance, the rest was like always.
She was looking at herself.
The blue snout of her mother that hovered just above her shoulder confirmed that.
She was smiling broadly, proud and in love with her special daughter.
Iris patted at her snout gently, stretching scale occasionally here and there, looking for any sign of disfiguration the boy was undoubtedly referring to.
She found none and the smiling snout of her mother strengthened her belief that everything is fine.
"I don't see what you see" Iris mumbled, single eye scanning for the unseen weird signs
'It's not there anymore ma'am!" the child blurt out merrily "You look cool now! The eye patch, your look and the way you talk so funny makes you the most coolest pirate ever!"
Iris frowned, brows wrinkled in amusement than irritation as she turned her head back at the cub.
"What is wrong with my speech?"
"You're a dragoness and it sounds like you're a shy mole that doesn't want to look stupid around his normally talking friends. It's even more funny since you're a dragoness, a strong and neat creature while moles are small and basically blind!"
"Maybe you're right" she admitted, due to politeness really, in truth she didn't make sense of the boy's words at all.
"Hey!" the cub exclaimed, taking a solid bite on the chocolate, swallowing the sweet without properly chewing it, the block of chocolate could be seen sliding down his throat
He let out an audible gulp.
"You're a cool pirate now, you need cool stuff. That thing around your neck is old and broken, it doesn't belong in a chest of awesomeness treasure. Why is there so much ice on that thing anyway?"
"This?" she reached down, sliding her paw below the round medallion, letting it rest on her draconic palm
She pushed it gently forward, completely unmoved by the chill surrounding its welded by ice chain.
"It's a gift, my mother gave it to me. It's broken, that is why I use magic to keep it intact"
"It's really old tho, can't your mom give you something new?"
"I'm sure she will" Iris looked behind her shoulder, mother was nowhere to be seen, she must have gone somewhere and she didn't hear where, as always
"I need to ask her for another present"
"Or you might do what I do!" the boy shouted excitedly "I always throw away the things my parents give to me when I get bored with them. Then I act all sad and stuff, telling them I lost it. I always get new stuff with this plan"
She narrowed her eye on the young boy, scrutinizing him with an amused scold.
"Aren't you a clever boy"
"Just throw it away, you'll see"
Iris looked down at the ancient, scratched medallion. The child had a point, perhaps it was time to remind mother of her love for her daughter.
She clenched her paw around the old trinket, muscles flexing with an intention to jerk and rip apart the weak chain around her neck. Yet the moment her leg started pulling a powerful feeling overwhelmed her, freezing her paw.
Dread.
She swallowed heavily.
"I'll do it some other day" she mumbled tentatively
The boy cocked his head, taking perhaps a final bite of his quickly disappearing chocolate.
"Why?" he muttered with the sweet inside his mouth, eyes shimmering in a youthful attempt at searching for an answer in a maze filled with nearly unending questions
Young, burning eyes widened up suddenly.
"I know!" he clapped his hands, letting the remnant of the chocolate drop on the street "It's magical isn't it? Or better yet! CURSED!"
Iris looked down, examining the old medallion with her single, healthy eye. She observed the round trinket with great intensity, as if looking at it for the very first time. It was just an ordinary, now faded medallion, still whenever she ran her claw across it something seemed to stab at her heart.
The longer she looked at the trinket the more intense the pain became. That was not a stab, it felt like some stitches were snapping, bits and pieces of her heart slowly falling apart.
"I don't know" she blurt out, letting go of the medallion, letting it smack against her neck. Her single eye tightly shut itself, head directed itself at the sky, throat letting out a wavering breath.
"Even better! You look like a pirate, talk funny and have magical necklaces you don't know what they do. You are awesome, you must have lotta friends"
"I..." her head lowered itself down, eye opening up sadly "don't actually"
Feline ears flattened on the boy's skull.
"No? You must know someone who can't get enough of you. You are a pirate with a cool voice and magical items! If I had a friend like that I would never leave her, you simply ask for adventure that way!"
"I don't-" her voice ended abruptly, white eye widened when behind the boy and past some people she spotted in a distance a walking, burning figure accompanied by a glowing dragonfly and what seemed to be a priestess
"What if someone like me IS the adventure?" Iris mumbled excitedly, jumping down from the dais, moving past the cub and stopping right behind him
"I don't understand"
"Perhaps I know someone who is brave enough to face the danger" she moved a little bit farther, stopping in the middle of the street, single eye aimed forward, observing the walking trio
She opened her wings, not fully, but enough to draw attention to her spotless and thrived feathers.
With the corner of her eye she saw her mother standing ahead of her, looking in the same direction she was, she was shaking her head endearingly.
He walked with his friends, head with a burning mane directed in the same direction as the heads of his two companions.
Her tail started to twitch nervously, the area the three of them were walking through wasn't big, they were walking in a gap between two buildings, if he won't turn around he will never see her and disappear behind a sandstone wall.
Seconds flew by, in fact the flow of time seemed to speed up, what usually should be a single step looked like three, he was crossing distance faster than a sprinting child.
Her mother also seemed to become nervous, her slender tail waved slightly in irritation. At some point Iris noticed her looking behind her shoulder, motherly eyes aiming directly at her. She didn't pay them much attention, her own focus was aimed at the burning dragon ahead.
"Look over here!" her mother roared at the top of her lungs
The blare was so loud that chips of stone fell from the walls of the nearby buildings, yet the surrounding people acted like nothing happened, carrying on with their own, personal lives.
Iris groaned, smacking her paw against her forehead, for a moment her sight was covered by a blurry veil.
Her head felt as it was about to explode.
When she recovered and looked up, the clench she felt in her chest forced a gasp out of her throat, stealing air from her lungs like a tightly clenched fist steals juice from a fruit in its grasp.
She wasn't the only one who heard the blare.
The burning figure ahead stopped, looking in her direction. His body flaring up with brighter flames, making him look like a small, erupting volcano.
The stiches tightened their hold on her heart, putting back in place even the pieces that fell away.
Her mother stood in the same position as before, looking her way. A beautiful smile spread her lips, radiating nothing but joy for her daughter and motherly sadness that realized that her daughter is growing up and her interests shift somewhere else than family.
She was proud of her as ever and just as supportive.
For a moment she wanted to scold her mother for embarrassing her like that, but somehow she couldn't find room for anger or hate. It was like those two particular emotions were foreign to her.
The burning, draconic figure ahead made some steps in her direction, her tail bounced happily at the sight. Already triumphant, already knowing that her trust wasn't misplaced.
His two companions, more lively than ever, especially the glowing dragonfly tried to gain his attention, yet his eyes remained locked in the same direction. She could feel his burning gaze warming her body. The sight of his friends fighting in a futile attempt to drag his focus away only strengthened her belief that she has a friend as she thought.
The bouncing of her tail became even more intense when she noticed the two figures ceasing their attempts at dragging his attention away. She noticed the dragonfly waving his hand in resignation. The two of them continued on their way finally, leaving him alone, concentrated on her as she expected and hoped.
He was standing over there for quite a while, something that never happened before, all those times he was always already running in her direction. She wasn't worried however, a friend that doesn't fear danger won't become hesitant all of a sudden.
Especially not someone who seems to embrace the adventure she is.
He simply was shocked, all those times he knew what she was going through, he knew what to expect. The eye patch she is wearing currently must have surprised him, he wasn't prepared to see her with only one properly functioning eye, nothing else could be responsible for this hesitation.
The stitches tightened their grip, realization that there could be trust placed in someone else than family made her heart beat awkwardly, as if it would be learning to live for the first time. Her mother, who was nodding her head, comforted her, silently telling her that this is the right calculation to make.
He began moving in her direction, her blue tail started to swing quicker, icy tail tip glowing excitedly with a light blue illumination. Trust is a wonderful thing to bestow someone with, it makes life so much more enjoyable, so much more worthwhile, especially when you know that the key you gave to the one you deemed worthy will be used with great care, without risk that this special someone will bash the door in.
She felt wind in her feathers, a sensation she became numb to as years went by, flying no longer felt wonderful, it was like outgrowing the time when you play with toys. Right now however she wanted to leap into the air and spin around, as if she never used her wings before.
As if she never felt happy and carefree before.
Air and wind with a pinch of unshackled glee granted that special freedom.
Her world shook violently however when suddenly the burning figure above stopped unexpectedly.
He watched her for a while, his burning body wafting weaker and weaker flames as seconds flew by.
Her tail froze in the air, single eye widened, searing pain started to course through her chest. She lived through something like that before, it was so familiar, the most terrible moment of déjà vu is about to happen.
She felt it and yet clung to hope that this can't be happening.
The fire he was radiating seemed to die completely, burning body parts glowing with the intensity of a dying match. His head dropped sharply towards the ground and then with one swift motion he spun around, quickly retreating, trailing the same path his two companions already tramped.
And just like that he disappeared behind a sandstone wall and vanished from her sight.
Betrayal.
Her tail slammed into the ground, shooting tendrils of ice across the floor, they spread like black veins of infection from a wound.
The stitches holding her heart as one started to shake violently, the treasure they were so desperately trying to keep together started to swell like a balloon filled with air. The strength of the chain they created preventing overload.
And then suddenly a cleaver swept across the surface of the heart, its sharp blade cutting every stich on the way.
A silent, painless explosion filled her chest when her heart exploded, the devastating effect throwing bloody pieces of her heart into every crevice of her body, most likely never to be found again.
Her mother trembled, a huge, bloody cut stretched all along her chest, the slit momentarily parting widely open, vomiting every messy and bloody gut found in a draconic body, until nothing remained of her mother, but a steamy pile of slick innards.
Which eventually slipped through the invisible cracks in the stony street. Reminding her that there is only one thing her paws do and that is walking through a world made of nothing but corpses and blood which she created by using the most deadly and murderous of weapons.
Trust.
Her eyes shut tightly, left eye pulsing with sharp stings of pain.
When she opened them again everything was different. She was alone again, right eye seeing nothing more but plotting pieces of shit that only wait to stab you in the back the moment you give them the opportunity to do so.
That burning motherfucker!
A lone stream of a bloody tear slid from underneath the black eye patch, hot blood heating her cheek.
"Hey miss"
Iris spun around with a growl, whiny voice never before so infuriating.
"Whoa!" the cheetah boy exclaimed, the shock punching him like a fist, making him tilt and fall into the fountain
People turned to see what is happening.
She cut the distance separating her from the fountain momentarily, without hesitation leaning over the dais and plunging her front paws into the water, right where the child fell.
Bubbles were raising from his gaping maw, young mind shocked by the image of a coolest pirate ever transformed into a one eyed horror crying bloody tears that seemed to be deprived of any emotions sentient creatures were aware of.
One of her paws pressed against his shoulder, the slam making him press against the bottom of the fountain, panicked young eyes directed themselves at the paw. Her second leg curled into hooks, claws glowed faintly with an icy light.
She connected with the water, a small string of ice stretched from the tip of her claw, freezing the particles the water was made of. The moment the string was as long as a claw of an adult dragon it disconnected from the tip of her natural blade and shot through the water like a shark pursuing its prey.
The cheetah cub scared and oblivious to what is happening didn't notice the icy worm swimming directly into his opened mouth.
Her tail tip began to pulse with a cold, faint light, sustaining magical energy she just released.
The curled paw clenched against the boy's shirt, with both of her fores locked onto the young body she jerked her body up, with one, strong pull dragging the boy out of the water with a loud sound of splashing water.
She put the child firmly on the dais of the fountain, his butt slammed into the stone. People crowded in their direction, they stopped only after noticing her heroic and merciful deed.
The wet child stared at her for a while, before letting out another terrified scream that soon tuned into a panicked cry. He jumped off the dais, crushing the remains of the chocolate under his boot, he slipped, but didn't fall, instead he awkwardly started to run, sprinting in a straight line, crying all the way.
Her tail pulsed in perfect accordance with his beating heart.
Iris looked at the tips of her faintly glowing claws, thinking about their sharpness and shape, so much similar to spikes that undoubtedly some animals would sprout to defend themselves from predators.
Only she was aware that thanks to magic even prey can be deadly.
People were giving her all sorts of stares, she didn't care for any of them, just like she didn't care for the shy applause some offered her.
She didn't look, but from the sound she knew that most of those clapping sounds were created by fucking males who clung to even the most pathetic pretext that would increase their chances of reaching under her tail.
Ignoring the irritating sound she looked back at the water, examining her own reflection. A streak of red stretched from her covered eye and along her cheek.
"That was fantastic what you did there"
Some fucking shit grumbled next to her, approaching her since the sound of clapping grew closer.
She dipped her paw into the water, hating the fucker for opening his stinking mouth, regretting that she can't do nothing to him right now without causing too much attention.
One corpse will have to do for now.
Callously she started to clean her snout, getting rid of the red streak, cleaning blood was like grooming feathers, both she did probably the same amount of times.
"Beautiful and heroic, who would have thought such a combination existed"
Another horny dipshit groaned next to her, his low voice was as fake as the honest congratulations in his compliment. She was around enough males thinking with their cocks to know when someone is purposely making his voice lower and more deep to sound more manly and alluring, just as she could feel when someone is lustfully examining her body as if she would be some kind of trophy.
She knew damn well herself that she is a treasure, she didn't need some cockheads to tell her that.
"Is that blood? Did you hurt yourself?" a feline face appeared on the waving surface of the water
His big worried eyes made her sick.
"I can help you with that, I have medical training, let me take you to my house and I'll examine you"
Her eyes didn't even shake in his direction, she was looking at the surface of the water as if it would be the only available mirror, carefully cleaning last drops of blood from her snout.
Chilly breath wafted from her nose, cracks of ice appeared on the water, icicles so sharp that they would be able to slice a throat open.
She exactly knew what kind of neck she would want to cut right now.
Her tail tip pulsed faster and faster.
There are moments however when you can't take everything, you need to satisfy yourself with the little things.
The other male laughed, the one with the fake voice.
"Your desperation is pathetic, she is an intelligent, beautiful girl, able to see through your pitiful advances. Besides you're a cat, what can you know about a dragon's anatomy, it's not like I don't know that you would want to learn, a pretty girl's body would do nicely I'm sure"
A yellow draconic snout appeared to her left, smug expression twisting his draconic face.
His mendacity was annoying, she would gladly show his true colors by ripping the scales off his idiotic snout. Males are nothing more than walking abominations not able to make use of their main head when the other one steals all the blood pressure.
Modest or sassy, doesn't matter, they are all the same, they all bleed the same.
The male cheetah frowned, a snarl wrinkled his face.
"For your information you shallow imbecile, the head of the healers in this city is a cheetah"
She looked at her claw, the glow was fading from it, with the weakening magic she could smell young fear waning and sense of security increasing.
The icy spike on her tail tip pulsed with a more steady light.
"You forgot to mention she's female, unable to think with the head you are undoubtedly thinking right now. Disgusting" his yellow paw extended in her direction "Come darling, let me take you away from here, you don't deserve to be treated like this"
His paw touched her shoulder.
She could already feel the lustful throb originating from his loins and pulsing all across his body.
It was always like that.
This time however she was aware of the ruse.
And that made her furious.
She clenched her paw, her tail tip flashed brightly and then suddenly lost all of its glow, extinguishing like a flame on a candle. The tips of her claws dug into her draconic palm, sharp edges so similar to thrusting spikes.
With the fading connection with her ice elemental magic that felt like wakening up from a dream she felt icy spikes piercing a young heart. Part of her brain still sensed the chocking gurgle of a whiny, annoying voice.
She licked her lips, feeling the sweet taste of chocolate on her mouth.
Iris jerked her body fiercely, throwing off the worthless paw from her shoulder. Piercing, white eye narrowed itself on the surprised snout of the yellow moron.
"If you will touch me ever again you will spend the rest of your years picking your own claws from your dookie maker"
The cheetah snickered.
"You both are worth crap"
The smile disappeared from the feline's face.
"All your lovey-dovey is pathetic and as attractive as the cunts of your whore mothers that spat you out in this world. You are all gushy, all lies, ready to stab in the back the moment you get what you want or get bored. I'm done being your plaything you motherfuckers, you will regret crossing me assholes, you will find out that the knot I'm going to shove up your asses is agonizingly painful and never retracts"
"Listen here bitch!" the yellow dragon growled, his voice no longer deep and low, but normal and pathetic "I'm not going to listen how you insult my mother!"
Iris spread her wings and leapt into the air.
"Then I suggest you cram your earholes with shit, you are full of it after all"
The fucker, or both of them screamed something after her, she didn't care however, rising high in the air, feeling the wind howling all around her, she forgot about the worms completely.
"Sweet Ancestors! The child is dead!"
The currents of the wind carried a terrified scream with them.
One of many yet to come.
