A 7500 word commission for shy001

A continuation of his dragon stories, this delves more into Donell's trials in becoming a full dragon while balancing his relationship with Drake. Unfortunately things end with a little snag that will need to be eventually worked out!

"Relations & Dragons"

It was just past dawn, the sun slowly intensifying through the small crack in the draperies caused a shaft of light to slowly grow across the bedroom floor where King Dranzer slept. Snoring lightly as the sun touched his hand hanging over the edge of the bed, his digits twitched to the warmth and slowly pulled themselves back into the shadows as he turned over. As the morning opened up more, the light made it up his naked back and wings, then began to poke over the side of his horns shining down into his eyes as he turned sleepily to shoo the sun away to no avail. Eventually he opened his eyes, and found the silvery arm of his beloved mate Relena resting across his chest. He shifted a bit, but she asserted her resting pose, cuddling his hip tighter.

"My love, are you trying to escape me?" She asked, her eyes still closed, a playful smirk on her face.

Dranzer chuckled as he raised a hand to shield his eyes from the invading sun. "I am attempting to escape the sun." He answered. "But this is very nice."

The dragoness opened her eyes and looked at her husband, her smile defining her internal argument to let the king move to close the drape or leave him trapped in the bed with her. His black muzzle lowered and kissed her softly. "Besides my dear, your king still has a morning task to perform in the bathroom, unless you wish things to become uncomfortable between us?"

She sighed in an air of disappointment as she removed her arm and practically shoved him out of the bed. He cackled a bit playfully as he strolled over to the window, her eyes soaking in the regal build of her naked husband. Slipping the curtains closed, he made his way back across the room. As he noticed her stare, he exaggerated his walk into a lengthy strut that made her laugh. "Now there goes my husband, truly regal in nature looking like a stick's been shoved where the sun does not shine."

As he approached the doorway that led into the bathroom, Dranzer turned back. "Don't judge me, I have to gaze upon my wife's lovely features until we go to bed and she removes her makeup--" He laughed as he ducked into the doorway, avoiding a pillow being thrown by her.

Relena sat back against the pillows and sighed a bit, her mind returning to more serious matters, even hearing her husband relieving himself. "So what will we be doing with Donell?" She asked after a pause.

The trickling stopped and there was a flushing of the toilet. "I assume you are referring to his training?"

"Does he want to be trained?"

Dranzer appeared at the doorway again, drying his hands with a towel. "It is his duty as our son, training to fill the royal order."

"Well, he is a bit old to be trained." Relena said. "The last dragon I trained was Dragor, and he was barely out of his toddler stage."

"You." Dranzer spoke rather quizzically. "You want to train Donell to be a dragon?"

Relena scoffed at the look her husband shot her. "I have trained many dragons in my prime, I am the most qualified--"

"Out of the question." He interrupted, shaking his head.

"And why is that?"

"Because you are my queen and this duty should fall to a--"

"Are you going to say it should fall to a male? Because if you do, I am going to hurt you." Relena's eyes turned into a glare that could melt ice.

Dranzer returned the towel into the other room and closed the door before walking across the room toward her. Seating himself at the foot of the bed, he shook his head. "No, that is not what I meant."

"Please." Relena said, leaning forward and baring her teeth in a rather threatening smile. "Enlighten me, husband?"

Dranzer struggled to come up with words, stammering over "I don't think--" Before she responded.

"Should I remind you that I two am a warrior? That we faced off in battle several times and that I could hold my own against any dragon; man or woman, and I could beat them down? How many times was I the victor in our battles, Dranzer?"

"Was that before, or after we married?"

"Pick one."

"But my dear, it has been many years since you've trained. As you said, Dragor was the last you trained and that was at least fifteen years ago."

Relena's tail thwapped onto the mattress, a clear sign of her frustration. "Dranzer, Donell is unexperienced in the art of combat, he has no expertise in fighting and weaponry. Surely you would agree I could handle a student like that, couldn't you?"

With a growl of determination, the king glared at his wife. He knew that she would go soft on him; Donell was her youngest son, even though he wasn't their birth son, he felt that she was not capable of doing more than coddling the dane as he made his way into dragonhood. "As your king, I am telling you, wife; this is final."

The glare she gave him then made his spine twinge as he immediately regretted the words he'd used. Her lips curled out as she elongated the stinging 'f' syllables in her reply. "Well as your wife, I say it is not final in FACT, as queen I will refute your commands in this matter, milord."

"Look, all I'm saying is that things have gotten a lot different since we came here. That's all." Drake said as he and Arnold stood at opposite sides of the yard, raising swords almost exactly at the same time.

The pair had been play-fighting with weapons for a couple hours now, even without his shirt on, Arnold was still wet from sweating while the weregarurumon seemed to be perfectly at ease with his combat stance. "It's not about that, Drake. I like it that you provide some normalcy to Donell's life." He swung his sword in and Arnold deftly deflected it with a loud metal clang that filled the air on the strike. "You can't expect his world to run purely on combat and dragons, do you?"

"Why not?" Drake asked, swinging down his weapon. "He was born into it, wasn't he?"

"He's not that kind of dragon though. Neither am I." He raised his sword and blocked another blow by Drake. "We were born among them, but we're just a pair of regular dogs. With a few tricks up our sleeves, sure, but..."

"I don't know." Drake said finally lowering his sword and taking a breath. "I mean, do you really think after turning into a big dragon... hybrid thing that I've even got a shot at being with him?"

"Maybe." Arnold shrugged. "But if you do what you're thinking about doing, it's going to hurt him more."

"I didn't say I was gonna do it." Drake said, dropping the sword back into the sheath he'd pulled it out of. "I said I was thinking it'd be better if I did."

The two started walking back toward the house as Arnold picked up the tanktop he'd dropped while they were sparring and began to dab it over his forehead, suddenly craving something cold to drink. "Why do you say that?"

As though it were on queue, Ranshiin lumbered through the doorway just as Drake and Arnold arrived at it. The olive and green dragon gave them a nod and a smile before suddenly taking flight, the wind burst causing the two almost to fall down from his departure. Drake slowly turned his eyes to the dane and gestured. "Because of that." He said as they stepped inside. "I mean... I mean I'm nobody here. Alright? I'm not related to dragons, I don't even think I was supposed to come along for this ride. I'm so out of place that I might as well have a big red 'X' painted across my green ass."

"That is a lovely visual." Relena said with a bit of a standoffish tone as she entered the kitchen in a gown slung over her shoulders. "Why would we be painting your ass again, Drake?"

"Drake feels like an outsider here among us." Arnold explained. "He's been considering taking the coward's way out and going back to Earth."

"I must say that is the most sensible thing the wolf has said." King Dranzer added as he pushed into the kitchen as well. "Maybe it would do you better to return to where you belong instead of with us."

Drake winced a bit at the king's discretion. "Yeah, maybe."

"Don't be silly." Relena said. "I have a feeling that Donell needs you now more than ever. My husband is merely..."

"I would be a liar if I didn't say it was a good idea." He huffed. "After all, Drake here is from a different world from us entirely. He doesn't fit in here. I don't mind that my son is gay and prefers men of his type, but have him settle down with a true dragon instead of this... scrawny normal. That would probably be best for everyone."

Drake's eyes narrowed at the king. "Who says I'm not good enough for him? I might not be a dragon, and I might not be the smartest or the bravest guy in our world, but I still think I could stand by him if I chose to."

"That's the way to think." Arnold said with a playful shove to the weregarurumon's back. "Don't let anyone tell you how to live your life."

"I'm not through deciding yet." He said. "But after hearing the king's disapproval here, I'm more inclined to stay around than ever."

"Not sure if that's something you want to do." Another voice grabbed their attention. Somehow in all the attention, the four of them had failed to realize that Shiron was sitting in the room at the table, quietly stewing over a cup of coffee. The aroma quickly reaching everyone's noses as they noticed the cup between his paws. Opening his blue eyes, he peered between everyone in the kitchen before continuing. "Donell was born in our world." He explained. "Just because he was raised in yours doesn't make him a part of it, or anyone in it."

"Shiron..." Relena started.

"Excluding Arnold here, everyone is a part of a dragon family except you, Drake. I'm sorry, but that's the lumps you're going to have to take when you consider courting someone who could be a prince someday."

"This wouldn't happen to be a personal opinion, would it?" Arnold asked, crossing his arms and leaning against the countertop.

With an irritated roll of his eyes, Shiron looked at the dane. "No, it's simply the most factual outcome here. You and Donell have been a part of this family since you were children, Donell probably doesn't even remember being on Earth before that. Frankly Drake has no business sticking his nose into dragon affairs."

"Donell asked me to come..."

"It doesn't matter. Donell doesn't know what he wants, he doesn't know our laws or his place in the order of things. What he feels are the desires of someone who's spent too long on Earth. I simply think it would be best if you left, so you don't influence him any further than he's already been." There was a slight pause before Shiron delivered the final blow. "Do you really think Donell needs you?"

*crack*

The sound of the glass Drake had filled with water suddenly exploded in Drake's grip, his look of hurt said it all. The wolf didn't even care that there was now water everywhere, he didn't care that his hand was cut. Wordless, he walked out of the room while the others looked on in silence.

Arnold growled and slammed his fists onto the table in front of the dragon. "Why do you have to be such an ass? Can't you see he's hurting already?"

Shiron sighed and raised his glass to his lips, sipping from it before he responded. Brushing his blond hair back, he looked at the dog. "All's fair..." He said softly before his eyes fell to the contents of his cup.

Following Drake into the living room, Arnold followed the wolf up the stairs and toward the bathroom before calling out to him. "Hey, Drake wait up a second."

Drake slowed, but didn't look at the dog. "What?" he asked sternly, his eyes closed.

"Look, I'm sorry you're having doubts. But you can't let Shiron get to you. He's just trying to get you out of the way so he can get in Don's pants. You know that." He noticed the blood dripping from Drake's hand. Taking his wrist he looked it over. "Here, let me get this cleaned up."

"You don't have--"

"Shut up." Arnold said assertively. "If Donell is with you, you're as good as family, and I always help family."

Leading Drake into the bathroom, Arnold sat him on the toilet before pulling out some gauze and alcohol from the medicine cabinet. Wrapping it around Drake's hand, the wolf chuckled a bit. "Did you really mean that?"

Arnold smiled. "Is that surprising?"

"Well I dunno... the almighty porn star Titan calling me family. It's a little humbling, I guess?"

"Us dogs gotta stick together, right?"

Relena made her way toward Donell's room, the low lighting in the hall adding a bit of mystery to her mission. She looked behind her, ensuring that her husband wasn't following her. She approached the dane's door and swiftly rapped her knuckles on it, allowing the wooden noise to echo through the hallway.

"Yeah?" Donell spoke up almost immediately.

Relena cleared her throat. "Donell? It's me." She said softly.

"Come in."

She opened the door and was surprised that the room was very dark inside. Seeing Donell sitting on his bed made her frown as she stepped into the room. "Where have you been?" She asked.

"Just keeping to myself." He said, running his hand along his arm. "Ever since... you know."

Relena smiled. "Believe it or not, we've all been there."

"Really?"

Relena nodded. "And I used to be responsible for training young drakes in the use of their powers, their strength. Teaching them, as I would like to teach you."

"You... want to teach me? Why?"

Relena laughed. "I hope you're kidding. You do realize that even though we are not blood, you are still my son and I would be proud to train you. No matter how much my husband would object to it..."

"Wait. Father doesn't want you to train me? Why?"

"I can't say I blame him, but he thinks I would treat you more favorably. You are our son after all."

"Well, I wouldn't expect any favoritism anyway. But... I would like it if you would train me, even."

"Really? You'd allow me to train you?"

"Of course!" Donell said, his tail starting to wag. "I couldn't think of a better teach--" He paused and looked toward the door.

Relena turned around to see Dranzer standing in the doorway. His disapproving scowl telling the two of them more than he needed to with a growl. As he turned from the door, Relena smiled and patted Donell on the leg. "You go, find something to do with Drake before our training begins." She said.

"Drake?"

Relena nodded. "He seemed down earlier, it would do you both some good."

The sun was already glowing orange by the time Donell found Drake, as he stepped into the small room set aside for the wolf, he noticed Drake sitting alone in his room. As soon as the dane entered, his head jerked upright in surprise before his ears flattened back into a more relaxed state.

"Oh, hey. How's it going?" He asked. "Been awhile since I've seen you."

"I know." Donell said, running his hand along his bare forearm. "I'm sorry, I just had a few things to straighten out."

"Like what?" He asked.

Donell shrugged and frowned. "I'm... not sure, I'm sorry if I worried you."

"You did worry me, Don." Drake said, reciprocating the frown. "I began to feel like you didn't need me, that maybe I didn't have a place here."

"Of course you do." Donell said, putting his hand on Drake's. "It's all my problem, not yours."

"Well, what about Shiron?"

"What about him?" Donell asked.

"Well... I mean, you two were together before. I thought maybe..."

Donell smirked and kissed Drake on the lips. The unexpected gesture made the weregarurumon inhale sharply and return the kiss; which held them together for what felt like an eternity before the dog broke it. "You wanna get the hell out of here for a few hours?"

Drake's eyebrows lifted in curiosity. "Where did you want to go?"

Donell's grin widened and he spun on a heel, flicking his hand out as suddenly a portal snapped into existence next to them. "Anywhere." He said with a wink before grabbing Drake's hand and jumping through with him.

There was a snap in Drake's head, the wolf was still not used to the way portals worked, it felt cold, and he felt himself suffocating for just a second as the pair of them flew through the netherverse, which blazed by him in a blur. Suddenly the night collapsed in around them and he inhaled sharply, almost falling to his knees as the cool air surrounded their new position.

Catching his breath, Drake reaffirmed his grip on Donell's hand before speaking. "Where... are we?" He managed to ask before noticing the familiar landmark in the distance.

It was the Eiffel Tower; in the blink of an eye, Donell had taken him to Paris, France. He'd never been here before, the glow of the city lights below them filled his chest with a warmth that made his heart beat a little bit faster. He looked at the dane and smiled, brushing the fur on his head. Donell looked at him in a way only he could.

"So, what did you want to do?" He asked Drake.

"Wait... so, did you bring me to Paris for a date?" Drake asked in return. "How long have you been planning this one?"

"Oh." Donell shrugged coyly. "A while."

"Well, I could use a little food, maybe we can start with that."

"Heh, well, lead the way."

The walk wasn't so difficult for them, with the door to the roof they'd landed on locked, they began to descend the fire escape. The metal clanked and shifted as the pair made their way down, there were several lit apartments with no one in them as they passed each window, likely their owners were out of town, and a few windows with their shades drawn, but both canines could pick up moans and grunts from behind them. These people must have been staying in for a reason, after all. As they reached the street level, they left the alleyway and entered the busy thoroughfare, Drake sniffed the air and could definitely pick up the smell of some nearby restaurants. As they walked, he noticed the Arc de Triomphe off in the distance, this was definitely a tourist spot as Donell hooked an arm under his elbow and they walked unabashedly down the street.

Food was delicious, but after being escorted out of two restaurants for not having reservations despite it also being rather expensive for the pair, Drake somehow found a vendor on the street accepting American money to get the two of them ice cream cones. As they walked the rest of the distance to the Arc to admire it; there, under the warm lights and the semi-privacy the arc offered, Donell wrapped his arms around Drake's neck and gave him a long, deep kiss. Drake's hands felt uncontrollable as he dragged them down to the dog's waist and pulled Donell against his body.

After a few minutes, their lips parted and Donell smiled. "Mmm this is what I needed; a little time away from the dragon insanity." He said.

"Heh. Next time we plan to come to a place like this, let's make sure we call ahead though." Drake said. "And remind me to find a money exchange too."

Donell smiled. "Yeah, I guess I didn't think about that." He admitted. "I just felt like getting away with you for a couple hours."

They held hands for a moment. "Me too." Drake nodded. "And I'm sorry I got all jealous, I mean, I guess that makes me and Shiron rivals, doesn't it?"

"He's had his shot with me and he let me go." Donell said back. "Just put that out of your mind. The important thing is that you and I have tonight together, right?"

The pair took a trip to the Eiffel Tower next, though this time they took the trip by cab. It had shut down for additional tours that night, and it simply stood towering over them. With a grin, Donell grabbed Drake's already-attentive bulge and led him toward a spot that was more away from the road, with a flash of magic, he summoned a portal and the pair found themselves on the very top tier of the tower where they immediately began to make out against the backdrop of Paris' night time views. As Drake lifted Donell's shirt some and began to stuff his paws into the dog's pants he paused.

"Wait... don't they have security cameras to catch us up here?" He asked.

"Not this high up." Donell responded. "How would anyone be able to make it up here without being seen by the fifty cameras below and not taking that little elevator up here to start with?"

Drake grinned a bit. He was right, after all and he kissed his mate almost ravenously this time, both growling in lust as Donell's arms slipped around the weregarurumon's waist and pulled their torsos together.

Drake pushed down on Donell's pants, realizing that the dane had no underwear beneath it, which excited him. He growled a bit as his hands rested on the dog's butt with a bit of an adjustment, he freed them, allowing the pants to fall freely to Donell's feet. In response, Donell leaned forward and began to nibble at one of Drake's erect nipples below his shirt. Meeting a growl of approval, Donell used his hands freely to lift the front of Drake's shirt and he pressed his lips against the warm fur before licking and sucking a bit at the offered tit. Immediately, Drake's pants pitched a tent of their own and Donell released the wolf's shirt, letting his head be partially covered as they made their way down his stomach to the buckle of his belt. With a flick of his thumb he was able to pull the leather away and he opened the wolf's jeans. Hastily dragging them down as Drake yanked his own shirt over his head and tossed it to the side. Drake's shaft bounced out of the jeans with no effort and made a fine streak up to Donell's neck. He grabbed it with a free hand and engulfed it between his lips until he was holding the shaft in his mouth while dragging the pants down to Drake's feet. Drake moaned and grabbed Donell with one hand as he stepped out of his jeans. Precum tasted sweet to Donell, who had been surprisingly too long without sex and he enjoyed letting it trickle down his throat as his hands reached back up and began to play freely with the weregarurumon's nipples. Drake blushed and began to ride the dog's throat, humping deep inward until it grew too tight to go any further, he backed out, letting Donell take a breath and he repeated the process again with a little more vigor in his thrust.

Donell was down on his knees, his legs spread apart some to help him stand on the metal walkway without hurting himself. He felt his own member throb, and could feel the tickle of precum streaming down the shaft and off the end, but he couldn't do much about it with his hands preoccupied by the wolf's expanding chest that would shrink every time as he exhaled his moans. Tightly, he wrapped his lips around the end of Drake's shaft, feeling the pulses of his heartbeat as they throbbed through the flesh and he pulled back at the same time Drake did. As his lips parted the flesh, a small bridge of precum dripped off his lips. He was then lifted to a standing pose and Drake kissed him, their tongues sloppily swapped between their mouths and Drake casually pulled Donell's shirt off him, now that they were both completely naked on the Eiffel Tower, the breeze was really going.

"Well, here we are." He said blushing.

Drake grinned and stroked the dane's muzzle. "Yep. Here we are." They kissed again.

Donell was surprised as Drake lifted him onto the handrail, the wolf putting his hands behind Donell's waist to keep him from falling. The dane trusted Drake and he leaned into the grasp as he was pushed back some. The tip of the wolf's shaft now pushing against his exposed ring, Donell grunted and Drake hugged him into his torso, never breaking the kiss as he penetrated him.

"Mmmhh... gods..." Donell moaned just above a whisper as their lips parted.

Both males moaned as Drake pushed himself deeper, the risk of the moment a strong turn on for the both of them. They could fall, they could be caught, but neither one cared; this was the perfect capper for the perfect evening.

After a bit, Drake pulled back on Donell, ducking away from the dog's leg as he turned him over, now leaning him against the railing instead of completely on top of it. Drake's claws raked down the fur on Donell's back and Donell cried out, his voice echoing into the space between them and the ground. Each hard buck from the wolf enough to lift his feet from the platform again and again as Drake's grip tightened around Donell's waist.

"Mmm... fuck Don--I'm getting real close..." He said after a bit.

Donell's hands grabbed at the rails, each thrust felt deeper than the last and he was already draining more precum than he thought possible. The familiar burn was pulsing and he was breathing hard just to keep up with his heartbeat. "M-Me... too..."

"C-cum for me then..." Drake whispered into the dog's ear.

As if on cue, Donell's body suddenly tensed up and he began to spurt out thick ropes of cum that quickly vanished into the darkness as they fell toward the ground. He let out a cry that echoed even louder as he threw himself back against Drake's tight torso. Drake followed immediately after, he'd been holding back too, and his howl screamed through the air even louder than Drake's cries. His cum flooded Donell's body and began to spill over as he held the dane tight against him, every muscle felt like it expanded and his howl turned into a hot breath against the back of Donell's neck until the ride of the climax faded.

After a bit of being cradled in Drake's arms, an out-of-breath Donell smiled and looked at him. "Well, that was a pent up explosion waiting to happen." He chuckled.

Drake slowly pulled himself out of Donell's ass, they listened to the remaining cum trapped inside the dog's body drip out onto the metal at their feet and they began to gather their clothes. "I'm sorry I ever doubted being around..." He said after a few moments. "That... was incredible."

Donell smiled, but suddenly looked past him as four men suddenly burst through a nearby maintenance door. "Gel! Ne vous déplace pas de pervers!" One of them yelled as they aimed weapons at the pair of them.

"W-what did he say?" Drake asked.

"I think he said... 'Don't move you perverts'?" Donell suggested before suddenly grabbing Drake and leaping from the tower.

Drake screamed in panic as he wasn't expecting this, but Donell quickly summoned another portal and once again they were sent through space where Drake's voice stopped echoing and again his mind felt like it was going to snap off before the pair suddenly landed in the yard back at Ranshiin's home. Both began to laugh, even when noticing the dragon owner staring at the two of them from the house doorstep. Rolling his eyes, Ranshiin stepped out to greet them, and looked them up and down.

"Look at you two. Buck naked, covered in what smells like a gallon of bodily fluids, portalling in at unspeakable hours..." His expression lightened. "It's good to see some things are returning to normal." He said. "Now get yourselves cleaned up, Queen Relena needs to speak with Donell immediately."

"Relena, I am still not completely on board with the idea of you fighting Donell." Dranzer said, running his claw behind his neck as she sat drinking from a cup of tea, staring as he walked back and forth. "I mean, I know you are an excellent warrior, I just feel you would go too soft on him..."

"He's accepted my challenge, husband. I will not hold back, just as I suspect he will not."

There was a knock at the door that distracted their attention toward Donell and Drake standing at the entry. Donell shifted somewhat. "You needed to see me?"

Immediately, Relena's demeanor shifted to a more pleasant one. "Yes. Please come in." She said. "Tomorrow our training begins, a fight to determine who is the stronger in battle."

"A fight?" Donell asked. "I thought it was just going to be training."

Relena chuckled. "Donell, what exactly did you expect for training? Pillow fights?"

"I guess not..."

"And I will stay by him through this." Drake said. "I've decided I will not be leaving."

"No." Dranzer stated firmly. "This is dragons' business. Those of the Earth realm are not permitted in this."

"Dranzer..."

"You will not change my mind, either wife. You've trapped me in this agreement and challenge, but I will not stand for this."

"Drake and I are together, father." Donell said. "I trust him to go wherever I go."

"Unfortunately, it is my strictest order that this outsider can stand at your side, I would rather have a dragon for a son than this... mortal being."

"I will not be talked to like that! If you want to have it out, I'll show you how much he means to me. Right here, right now. I challenge you for my right to stand by your son."

Dranzer laughed loudly; a belly laugh that shook the floor before realizing the seriousness of Drake's challenge and composing himself. "Oh, no. I am afraid that won't do. Only a dragon can challenge me in my orders, perhaps if you were to challenge and defeat Donell's second suitor..."

"Second suitor?" Donell repeated. "That's ridiculous, unless you mean..."

"Shiron."

Donell rolled his eyes. "Of course. Father, he can't be my suitor, I've chosen Drake as my mate, and you can't--"

There was a stern growl that exited Dranzer's lungs that stunned all three of them. "This is my command, I will not be denied in this!"

Relena sighed and patted his shoulder before looking at the pair. "You two get cleaned up and get some rest. Our fight will be tomorrow, Donell. Be prepared."

"What do you think is going to happen tomorrow?" Drake said as he stepped out of the shower and began to dry off while Donell continued to soak in the steaming water. "You think she's going to help unlock this "ultimate dragon form" of you or what?"

"Maybe." Donell answered. "Still trying to figure out exactly what this whole thing is for, maybe she's wanting to help me control it, you know? I'm not exactly a pretty picture when it comes to that." Drake smirked. "Well, I think you are." He said softly, earning a smile from Donell behind the curtain.

"Let's get to bed, you silly wolf."

The morning came faster than Donell would have liked, it being well past midnight by the time the two of them fell asleep, he was happy though to wake up stretched across Drake's chest. Drake peeked down at him through half-open eyes, likely feeling the dog stir.

"G'morning." He said.

Donell stretched his arms and yawned. "Morning." He said with his mouth hanging open.

"It's past sunrise." He said. "Your audience will very likely be waiting for you."

"Mmh...can't it wait?"

Donell barely managed to finish his sentence when the door to the room suddenly opened and Dragor and Duo came walking in. Both of them recoiled momentarily at the sight of their surrogate brother's naked body, but simply avoided making eye contact.

"Oh come on you two."

"Making out like a pair of dogs." Duo said snarkily. "Come on Donell, the queen awaits your arrival so your lessons can begin."

"Hmmph... fine." He said. "But if I lose control again, I hope you guys can stop me this time."

"If you lose control again, I think I'll be the first one to duck and cover." Duo said. "Now get your ass dressed and downstairs pronto."

As they turned to head toward the door, Donell reached for his pants while hearing Duo asking Dragor: "Mother has done this before, hasn't she? I mean, Don can get a little... violent when he changes."

"I'm sure she will have everything under control." The elder green dragon said. "But I guess we'll have to see what our queen is made out of."

As Donell got dressed hurriedly, he was practically stumbling down the stairs as he pulled his shoes on. Dranzer sat in the living room, looking up at him as he approached. "She waits for you in the back yard." He noticed Drake approaching shortly behind Donell. "And you, Drake will stand at the sidelines with the rest of the dragons. I cannot kick you out of here, but I can set you to the side."

"But what if Donell needs me?"

"We will take care of it in that case. Do not get involved."

Arguably glaring at the dragon, Drake scoffed. "That's what I've been trying not to do, but for now I will do as you command. At least until I get the opportunity to challenge you."

Dranzer looked at his claws, as if admiring them. "Yes, and I will carry an umbrella because that will be the day that pigs learn how to fly." He said.

As Drake exited the house, he noticed the area where all the dragons were standing and sitting, there was plenty of line of sight to see everything that happened in this seemingly ever-shifting and growing yard. He looked around to see torches that had been raised, sideline benches had been stacked like bleachers and everyone was there; Patro, Umi, Tatsu and Drayzier, along with Duo and Dragor. Drake sighed and took his place among them, sitting at the second row up so nothing would block his view.

"Isn't this exciting?" Umi asked, giving Drake a nudge to the ribs. "It's been years since I've actually seen a battle between the queen and her son."

"Years?" Dragor asked.

Duo scratched his head. "She battled us too?"

"Yep!" Patro said, giving a slap to Duo's back so hard it nearly knocked the wind out of him. "You kids were probably too young to realize what was going on, but the queen was responsible for a bunch of your core training. It'll be great to see her in action!"

"So, she's a good fighter then?"

"The king should not have even had anything to worry about." Drayzier said, not turning his eyes from the center stage in front of them. "She is stronger than any woman or man that I know."

Tatsu belted out a laugh. "Too bad all you know is the lot of us." He said

"Where are Shiron and the others?" Drake asked.

"Here." Shiron spoke as he, Greedo and Ranshiin came to join the group on the benches. "As if you'd expect me to sit out on an important event like this."

"Shh! It's starting!" Dragor shushed before taking his seat.

Donell made his way out onto the field that was once a small back yard behind Ranshiin's home. Turning left, he could see that Drake and the rest of the dragons had turned up for this fight. It unnerved him somewhat and he swallowed the dry lump in his throat as he proceeded out toward the queen, standing at the other end of the field silently. She held a sword in her hand, which glimmered as the sun touched it, and a soft breeze washed over them, the timing was perfect. Looking at Relena's weapon, he realized he hadn't brought his own when a second sword flies out of nowhere and into the ground by his side. Turning, he saw Dranzer had joined the audience, though from the opposite side and he turned his glance down to the weapon.

Donell's hand wrapped around the sword, and as soon as he plucked it from the ground, he spotted Relena charging in at full speed, letting out a loud roar as she attacked.

Donell gasped and spun his sword up, blocking her first blow with a resounding blast of noise that filled the field. She pushed up, knocking his blade away as she spun in for a violent kick to the face. Donell did a spin through the air and landed hard on the ground, getting up, he saw her going in for another strike and blocked that attack as well.

"Come on, Donell! You must have more to you than this!" She exclaimed, again kicking him back and swinging toward him. "You are the proud son of a king! An heir to the dragonhood! Fight like you mean it!"

Donell saw the sword coming down toward him and raised his arms to once again block the strike. As the sword landed, there was a blast of dark energy, and he grew into his hybrid form. Using his newfound strength to push her away, Donell went on the offensive; he swung his sword at Relena, who deftly blocked the attack and retaliated with a spinning kick. Donell caught the dragoness' foot with his bare hand and quickly swept her other foot out from under her. Relena grunted as she hit the ground and rolled back, leaping into the air she let out a vicious battlecry before coming down. Their swords collided and again, there was a blast of energy that could be felt by the entire surrounding crowd. Relena growled as she pushed in on Donell's defense.

"Very good, I can feel the strength radiating off of you, but I still feel like you're holding back!" She slid her sword down Donell's blade, tilting it back before knocking it upward, then delivering a punch across the dog/dragon's face. A surge of shadow increased and he used the hilt of his blade to knock Relena's weapon away before grabbing her and throwing her back as hard as he could. Landing several yards back, Relena regained her composure and charged in again. This time her claws came up and knocked Donell's sword back and she struck his face with an elbow. He returned the blow to her abdomen and to his surprise, she deflected his followup punch, grabbed his arm and hurled him over his shoulder, sending him flying about twenty feet.

As Donell hit the ground he grunted, his body was shaking as shadows began to seep from his arms and his eyes. "You will not win!" He shouted. "I won't be defeated by my own mother..."

"Stop holding back, Donell. Unleash your dragon!" Relena bade him. "Feel the power of your orb and embrace it!"

Donell roared, the shadows swirling around him like a tornado and in a flash, he stood in front of her in his full dragon form;

His black and white body had shaped his face, his hands and his eyes into that of a full fledged dragon, his thick tail thumped onto the ground behind him as a new loincloth and arm and leg wraps formed in on his body. His wings snapped outward, with a burst of air and shadow. He inhaled deeply and roared again, grabbing his discarded sword, ready to attack again.

"Come at me then." She said.

"Ready or not." Donell grinned smugly as he charged toward Relena, who remained still.

As Donell swung his weapon, Relena suddenly jumped from her standing pose and avoided his weapon completely. She wheeled around and twisted through the air above Donell's head, landing behind him and punching him in the back. Grabbing her sword, she swept it toward him again and Donell barely managed to parry the strike. He danced back and the pair crossed weapons, but even she noticed that there was a strange shadow that continued to smolder from his hands. She disregarded it though and threw her arms up, knocking the blade away. She flipped sideways as Donell tried to jab, then landing on her feet, Relena spun, using her tail to trip the black dragon up. He landed with a grunt and rolled as she came down with her weapon. Their bodies struck again, but this time, Donell's added mass kept the queen from knocking him back. He backhanded her across the face, knocking her back. She roared and bounded up, coming down hard with a fist to Donell's face. He slashed his claws at her, dropping his sword as he did so and she swung her sword at him. He raised his arms to block, only to receive a deep gash across both forearms. He roared in pain and grabbed her by the shoulders, picking her up, then driving her into the ground, he began to pummel on Relena. But she quickly blocked one of his punches, kicked him back then getting back to her feet, she leapt into the air with her sword and landed a successful strike; impaling his abdomen with a rather grievous injury.

Everyone was on their feet at this point, but the entire audience had fallen to a silence as Donell grabbed the sword and began to laugh. Shadow poured off of him and out of his wound like he was on fire and with what looked like a will of force, he knocked Relena back to the ground as he removed the sword and allowed the shadows to encompass it. Letting out a roar like the sound of a scream, darkness filled the sky overhead and the sword transformed, growing a rigid, nasty blade, he stood over her tauntingly. "You will lose..." He said in a voice that sounded so dark and distant from Donell's own voice, the group didn't recognize it at all.

Rising and forming her own sword, Relena roared and lunged toward the dragon. This time, Donell did not block the attack, he simply sidestepped her advance. Grabbing her around the throat, he spun and threw her away from him. She landed and raised her blade just in time, as Donell seemingly blinked to her spot and tried to slash at her in a position to cleave her head clean off. She grunted under the strength of his attack, he was so strong that it was unnatural, even for a dragon lord. She looked up into Donell's eyes, and couldn't see her son in them. Before she could react, the dragon brought a mighty fist across her temple, which sent her flying back ten feet. As he started toward her, Relena froze in place, not hearing her husband calling to her, her eyes filled with worry and fear as her son had become something completely uncontrollable. As he approached her, he pointed this powerful weapon at her. "Surrender, queen. Surrender yourself, and your kingdom to me."

Struck with fear, Relena did not respond. Instead, she grabbed her weapon, readying to continue to fight. Donell looked at the sword, then at her, and with a cunning, vicious smile, raised his sword to deliver the final blow.

As the sword fell, there was a blink of black where another sword intervened. Relena looked up to see that Dranzer had halted the blade with his own, his strength barely outmatching Donell's new found power. Growling with the authority of king, Dranzer slowly edged the sword up and away from his wife, much to the surprise of Donell, who took one look at him before Dranzer let loose a kick so powerful, that it was like a bomb had gone off in the yard.

Donell slammed against the barrier dividing the battleground from the bleachers, bending over almost completely backwards before bouncing off and slamming into the ground unconscious. Dranzer, breathing heavily looked at the dragon his son had become, then looked to his wife, who then passed into unconsciousness immediately. Standing upright again, he frowned at his son.

"Clearly we have things to work through." He said, mostly to himself.
