Color commission for Xodiad Dragote on FA: This was really fun to write.

Xodiac finds that some people, when they can't find their preferred type, they make them.

For Xodiac

Xodiac wasn't the biggest fan of bars, but he didn't have anything else to do on a Saturday night, so here he was. It was a dingy, ugly place on the bad side of town, but the drinks were cheap. He spent much of the night ineffectually hitting on any girls who crossed his path and looked single -- humans, therians, and everything in between. It didn't really matter to the dragote who it was, as long as he got a date out of them. And, preferably, a second date. He was on his third beer, still hadn't scored, and was just about to go home and change out of his jeans and shirt and let his wings stretch out.

Then, a male rabbit with snowy white fur casually sat down next to him at the bar, leaning close to him. His left ear decorated with a brass stud. He put a soft, warm paw on Xodiac's shoulder. "Hey there, you come around this place often?" His voice had the same tone one would use trying to pick up chicks at a place like this. Friendly with a hint of slimeball, the kind of voice that invited you back to their place for sex and ended up selling you weed that was mostly lawn trimmings.

The dragote shrugged, glancing over at the rabbit in the olive green leisure suit. "Sorry, dude. Not interested." He shook his head, trying to brush off the rabbit. At least someone had noticed him, even if it was another guy. He flagged down the bartender to order himself another drink, mostly ignoring the lapine playboy.

"Hey, that'll be on me." The rabbit spoke up to the bartender, smiling back at Xodiac. "My name's Pacer. What's your name?" His soft paw hand brushed against the back of Xodiac's own paw as he took a drink from his own glass. "Nothing worse than drinking alone, huh?" Xodiac shrugged. Pacer might be cheesy, but a free drink was a free drink. "Xodiac," he said, offering his paw. He supposed that hanging around with a new friend would probably be better than going home alone, even if the friend kept looking at his butt.

"Nice name. Exotic, and stuff." His cotton tail wiggled a bit, then he watched Xodiac for a while with his bright green eyes. "Kind of sucks, doesn't it? Being here and none of the ladies giving you the time of day? "

Xodiac shrugged. "I've seen worse, but, it's definitely not a fun way to spend a night." He glanced back at Pacer. "I take it you've not been exactly scoring tonight either?"

"No luck yet," Pacer agreed. He drummed his claw nail on the bar. "I think the problem is that the girls around here aren't the right type." His nose wiggled cutely as he smiled over at the dragote again. "These gals are a bit too..." He stroked one of his long ears as he searched for the most polite term for them. "They're too rough around the edges. I might be old fashioned, but I like a more demure, stylish woman." He chuckled. "You know; polite, graceful, looks good in a sequined dress."

"That so?" The dragote shrugged, wiping his coyotelike muzzle with a napkin from a half-empty dispenser. Xodiac hadn't really thought about what made a good woman, but now that he heard Pacer say it, he thought he knew what the bun was talking about. The girls here were a bit too... butch. They didn't have any style... Too tomboyish? That was probably going a bit too far, but it sounded right all the same. "Yeah, I definitely know what you mean."

"That's right." Pacer said as he ran a clawed finger down one of his new friend's wings. Xodiac shivered slightly at the pleasant tingle; the membranes were sensitive. "I mean, what girl in her right mind wouldn't want a nice purple satin dress, knowing they look so good in it?" He scooted a little closer to Xodiac as he spoke, his fur had a curious fragrance about it, like a mix of flowers and musk. "Nothing against tomboys, but I prefer a heels and evening gown woman, you feel me?"

Xodiac sniffed the air, letting Pacer's strangely alluring scent tickle his canine nose. "Oh, I don't know..." He really didn't know. He couldn't imagine why someone wouldn't want that, why any gal wouldn't want to look stylish. It sounded wonderful, really, a classy young thing in a black evening dress, tight in all the right places. This rabbit really knows what he's talking about! the dragote thought, wondering if it was weird that his mental image of a perfect girlfriend was himself but female.

"Think about it like this," Pacer said, leaning in closer, his scent sinking into Xodiac's olfactory centers. "Nothing makes you feel good quite like looking good." Pacer wiped a droplet of alcohol from his bunny whiskers and continued. "And it's not just the ladies, a guy can look great like that. I know a guy, with some advice from yours truly he went on to be a drag queen who hosts for a different nightclub." Pacer chuckled as he nibbled on the olive that came with his drink. "It's a nicer place than this, more exclusive... and she draws a big crowd every night!"

"Does she, now!?" Xodiac said, leaning towards Pacer, chuckling. The dragote couldn't help but wonder what that would be like -- to wear a dress and show himself off... He felt strangely aroused, but curiously the feeling did not lead to an erection. He didn't think anything of it, though. Xodiac finished off his drink. The dragote was subtly starting to change thanks in no small part to a couple drops placed in his drink when he wasn't looking. His features softened, becoming more fair and feminine, the verdant scales on his legs took on a brighter sheen as his hips filled out softer and fuller. These changes went unnoticed by Xodiac, partly because of the drinking and partly because he assumed he was just getting comfortable as he felt softer all over.

Pacer saw his chance, running his soft paw over Xodiac's ear, which flicked before it turned to listen to him. "She does! Won the first drag contest she ever entered." He drained his glass and waved the bartender over to refill it. "And something fruity for Xodie, here," he added, then turned to the dragote. "So, what do you do for a living?"

Xodiac wasn't too happy with the nickname the rabbit had stuck on him. But just then Pacer reached over and scratched behind his ears, and any thought of protesting vanished as his draconic tail started flicking against the leg of his stool. "What do I do? Oh..." He frowned as he took a sip of his new cocktail, wondering if he had lost his tolerance for booze. He was feeling tipsy already and he'd only had... how many drinks was it, now?

"I'm sorta between jobs, actually..." That wasn't as hard to admit as he'd thought, maybe because he was feeling so buzzed. "I've been looking since my old job wasn't exactly fulfilling."

"Oh, okay" Pacer said, smiling warmly at him. "That must be hard." The rabbit held Xodiac's paw firmly but very gently, caressing up and down his wrist with a clawed finger. "Being stuck doing something boring." He smiled, watching Xodiac continue to change in subtle ways, like the way his eyelashes were longer and thicker, how the dragote's paws had become positively dainty compared to Pacer's own.

"What you need is someone who can add some excitement to your life," he shot Xodiac a naughty smile, baring his buck teeth. "Change things up, know what I mean?"

"Yeah, that'd be great," Xodiac sighed. He didn't really know what he was saying, or why. All he knew was that, at that moment, he believed it with all his heart. "Just great..." he muttered. The dragote was barely recognizable. His face was totally feminine, and his voice soft, breathy, and a bit high. He smiled, his thin lips subtly taking on a fuller, more pillowy shape as they parted to reveal gleaming white canine teeth.

"Yeah..." Pacer dug in the pocket of his suit jacket, retrieving a bottle of royal purple nail polish and sliding it over to his now-androgynous friend. "I can help you out, I know how you can attract a good mate..." He grinned as the coyote-dragon hybrid took the polish. "...All you need are a few little tips on style, and you'll be irresistible." He smiled as he saw Xodiac unscrew the cap and start painting his finger caws and had to fight the urge to laugh in triumph. "You've already got an exotic look about you, Xodie, and purple is so your color."

"Wow, thanks so much for... for the offer!" Xodiac swooned, totally under the rabbit's spell. Being called Xodie wasn't that bad, really. Just... friendly. His heart pounded. "Gosh, who wouldn't want that..." The now quite feminine dragote changed rapidly as he painted his claws, green scales and dusty brown fur changing hue to cool blue-green and rich mocha, looking much better paired with the deep and glossy violet polish . As his new color spread, taking over streak by streak, the texture of his fur changed from a shaggy pelt to something much softer and more plush. A coat that made people want to pet and run their fingers through.

Pacer draped his arm around Xodiac's shoulder, his nose wiggling as he picked up his new friend's distinctly feminine scent. "So Xodie, why don't you come home with me when we're done here? I can get you fixed up good and then we can see if we can find you someone who'll treat you right." His green eyes seemed to glow as they stared into the changing dragote's own. "Besides, you're much too stylish a girl for this dive."

Stylish... the word echoed in Xodie's head, overriding the weak protest in his mind at being called a girl. "R-really?" he said, flattered. "I- I would love that!" It was the truth -- he couldn't imagine anything more exciting. What if his new mate was someone strong and masculine?

"Of course! I mean, you're such a stylish young lady. I'm surprised nobody's already asked you to come home with them." He nuzzled his cheek with his nose, his whiskers tickling his neck. And you're just so fuzzy and soft, that's gotta help you get a date."

"Thank you! I..." Xodiac squeaked, freezing as her new friend planted a gentle kiss on her fuzzy cheek. All his problems at being mistaken for a female suddenly crumbled away, like a riverbank in a flood. Yes, he was male, technically, but she preferred being thought of as female. After all, it was how she thought of herself, usually.

"Gosh, I bet the other fellas would just love to run their fingers through that fur of yours." He stroked Xodiac's now-curvy bubble butt with a naughty grin. "You need someone to appreciate you, you're just so stylish," He nuzzled her chest, breathing in her feminine scent, his pants tenting over his impressive endowment.

"Now let's take you to my place." Pacer grinned, guiding the dragote up to her feet. "I got something to show you, Xodie." The dragote giggled, blushing under her mocha brown fur as she walked with the bunny out of the club. The glass double doors swung open and the cool night air greeted them. Pacer walked confidently with Xodie on his arm. Every step made the dragote feel just how ill-fitting her old clothes were, the pants were too loose in the waist, hanging down over her hips, showing her boxers off every time her wings moved, sending her tee-shirt billowing around her. It all came together in her head, making the idea that her new friend Pacer planted seem all the more true, she needed to dress right if she wanted a man...

But that still made another part of the dragote protest silently. A man? She wasn't looking for male company! But still the idea of dressing pretty, getting guys to look at her... she couldn't deny the appeal. Thankfully, Pacer's apartment building was only a block away. Xodie wanted out of the drab rags she was wearing. "Can we stop by a nice clothing store?" she said, prodding Pacer's side with one of her painted claws, "My outfit's kind of..."

"Boring?" Pacer interjected. Xodie's mouth hung open for a second, at first wanting to argue then she realized the rabbit was quite correct, she was wearing a very dull ensemble. Surely nothing that'd get her mate to take notice. "Yeah, and..." as she spoke she was on the very edge of realizing something was awry but a glance down are her glossy purple claws coaxed that idea back into the corners of her mind, "They don't fit good, they're just too big and these pants won't stay up!" The dragon-coyote huffed as she yanked her jeans up, only for them to drop back down around her hips, and the loop in the back for her tail was similarly too roomy, letting in a draft of cold air with every step. She made a silent vow to buy clothes that fit better at the first opportunity. Prettier ones. More... stylish.

"I got an outfit you'll like, don't worry about it." Pacer said, patting her paw as she grabbed his sleeve. At first, she was thankful, then she started to wonder why Pacer would have an outfit her size already picked out. She mused the issue over as they approached the apartment building, Pacer pushed the door open for her and Xodie decided she could wait before putting questions to him. This was a favor the gentleman rabbit was doing for her, after all.

His flat was on the second floor, first one on the left. When he opened the door, Xodie was hit with the smell of burning incense, Pacer chuckled as he saw her whiskers and nose twitch as he walked her in "Check it out..."the bunny said, his white fur taking on a honey color in the mood lighting. The avocado colored shag carpeting pleasantly brushed her feet as she shuffled over, the drinks and the thick haze of sandalwood incense mixed to make a dense fog in the dragote's thoughts.

When her rabbit friend showed her the purple satin dress, Xodie squealed like an excited schoolgirl. "Ohmygooooosh!" The dragote bounced up and down, her tail a swishing blur behind her, "It's perfect! Can I try it on? I need to know how it looks on me!"

Pacer tossed the dress over and Xodie caught it with impeccable reflex. The eager dragote wasted no time tossing off her dress pants and shirt in a pile on the floor. The only even remotely masculine parts left of her were her flat chest and the bulge in her underwear; otherwise, she was almost indistinguishable from any of the other girls at the club, albeit much more stylish. She lifted the dress up over her head and eased herself into it, her dragon wings fluttering happily as they fit through the space in the back to accommodate them. Xodie smoothed out the long skirt of the dress, appreciating how it accentuated her hips, and the little bow embroidered just above the slot for her tail was an adorable touch.

Then, the gentleman rabbit showed her the rest of his gift: a pair of glossy high-heeled pumps, the same rich purple as her dress. "Oh Pacer..." she cooed, sitting down on the bed and lifting her legs as he slipped them on her feet. Pacer helped her stand, and she was elated to find the fit was absolutely perfect, gliding smoothly on, not too tight with a layer of foam in the soles for extra comfort. She wobbled a little taking her first steps in the heels, but she quickly got the hang of it before a wrong step sprained her ankles. Her heels made muffled clicks on the carpet as she made her way to the full-length dressing mirror, and when she saw her reflection her heart skipped a beat.

"Oh my gosh!" Xodie exclaimed as she did a dramatic twirl in front of the mirror, her tail gracefully flowing along with the skirt of her dress. "I look so..."

"Stylish" Pacer said, putting his arms around her from behind, pulling her into a tight embrace. When that word rippled through the dragote's consciousness, she realized what the giddy feeling in her head was. She had done it at last, she had found the mate for her. As she turned back to their reflections, she saw everything right with Pacer: He was so handsome, his white fur so immaculately clean and soft, his green eyes warm like sunlit grass. He had done all this for her so it could be a long term solution, she belonged to him and she chose to.

"You're so good to little ol' me!" She giggled, planting a wet puppy kiss on his cheek, "this is the best night of my life!"

"Best night of your life so far..." he corrected, the rabbit led her out the door again, draping his suit jacket over her shoulders. "The night's still young, darling. How about dinner?"

"And after that, could you take me back here? I want to get to know you more..." Xodie said, putting just enough playfulness in her voice so he knew what she wanted.

"Sure thing, babe. It's your night, and I'm so lucky to have you to myself..." His grabby paws trailed down to her butt and she coiled her tail around his arm. It wasn't exactly classy but she loved the attention all the same. She looked great and felt even better. Xodie couldn't wait until she saw all the other gals looking at her, all jealous. She was the most stylish gal in town.
